My Wife and I are very lucky to have found Hernandez Law Firm. We found the law firm through a referral from a friend who only had praises for the law firm.
Carlos does a great job, he is straight forward, honest, provides all the options and facts and guides you through the process.
He made sure there were no surprises and answered all our questions and we always knew what to expect.
I am surprised that there are not more reviews here.

Vernon has been absolutely amazing. A year and half after I had been injured at work and after receiving medical treatment, it was time to start the settlement process. I was given an offer and wasn't sure if it was good. I found The Sumwalt Group on Google and saw the 5 star reviews. I reached out to them to see if I could get some advice. Vernon was the one to call me and gave me some wonderful free advice on countering and what would be a good amount. He also looked over the settlement agreement I received to make sure it wouldn't mess up any potential social security/disability in the future. Vernon made me feel like he cared and like he wanted the best for me on this settlement and helped me to avoid having to hire a lawyer and drag out the process. I hope I never get hurt on the job again, but if I ever do I will definitely reach out to them again.

I hired Beth to help settle my families estate, a case that had been going on for 4+ years. She worked between me and my siblings as a mediator to help settle the case as quickly as possible. I received a letter from a rental property I had recently moved from. Despite receiving a 30 notice, the property was attempting to charge me an additional 17 days worth of rent. As a servicemember, I was aware of my rights under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) but was not knowledgeable of all the legal complexities and common tricks used by leasing offices to get around the law. Beth quickly research my options and was able to provide the necessary guidance to this developing issue. After my conversation with Beth, I spoke to my former leasing office. I informed them I had spoken to my lawyer and would not simply send them the check for the additional 17 days. The leasing office immediately changed their tone and stated lawyers would not need to be involved in the matter. In the subsequent conversation, the leasing office dropped the 17 day charge and ended up sending me a check for the remainder of my security deposit. I don’t believe I would have received that outcome had it not been for the tailored advice I had received from Beth.

After firing my last attorney Mr. Weinshenker was next up on the court appointed list. I couldn't have been more lucky. Right away I could tell the difference between the two lawyers. He emailed me a couple times a day. He also was very blunt and let me know the reality of the situation. He's my new go-to lawyer. My case isn't over with but I just want everyone know who is looking for a lawyer, this guy is awesome!

Seth is the best attorney I have had through the course of my divorce and custody cases. From the first time I met him, he was professional, took detailed notes, asked pertinent questions and was highly available. He got my custody case into court quickly and was always more than blunt about the reality of the possible outcomes. He is down to earth, personable, and down to business. And he has a LOT of experience in his field. In one case he actually spent enough time researching law to figure out that the opposing attorney had filed completely improper paperwork against me and the suit against me was dismissed. He is very thorough. I can't say enough nice things about his professionalism. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. He was able to accomplish for me what two prior attorneys in Cabarrus county failed at miserably.

We hired Mr. Bomar for the purposes of reviewing the purchase contract for a medical practice. He was nothing but professional and conscientious in his review of my transaction. He caught many mistakes made on the sellers end and acted quickly and kindly to make sure these were resolved. His background gave him good insight into potential "bumps in the road" that would either cost me lots of money in the future or left a lot of money on the table. Well worth it!

In a time of family crisis, Anthony's help was invaluable. Sadly, our 34 year old son recently passed away in a swimming accident in Raleigh. With Anthony's guidance, we were able to navigate those first few traumatic days. He assisted our family in completing the necessary legal documents to gain access to our son's townhome as well as critical financial information. It is very rare that you run across an honest attorney. Anthony Klish hopefully will be a trend setter. Straight out the gate he was warm and showed a human side which is a rare trait for an attorney in my opinion. He is very knowledgeable and very easy talk to. Mrs. Lassiter represented my autistic brother in a modification of guardianship hearing. Having experience with her own special needs child, she got to see the dire situation my brother was in with his current group home. Not only did she show a genuine love and urgency for his well being, she took it upon herself to follow through with a complaint to the state on the conditions and treatment at the home. All of this done on her own, not because we asked her too because we hit roadblocks at every turn, but she did it on her own time. In a world which seems to be so misguided and upside down, it was nice to have a breath of fresh air with an angel in disguise. Now my brother is in a skilled home with caring people and the old home has lost its licensure. My hats off to her and she has earned my business for life for anything that falls in her realm of expertise.

In 2006 there was a really bad dispute between my partner and I over the final financial compensations for a large construction job we did together. Samuel Richardson was my partner's attorney. I was being accused of cooking the books for my benefit.
Samuel facilitated a conversation across the table at a neutral location to allow my partner and I to air our positions in hopes that we would not have to use the court system to settle our grievances. He asked pertinent and insightful questions representing my partner. I, representing myself, showed all my financial records [invoices and payouts] for the job in question. His final question was what our profit was. Upon my answer to him and my partner, he turned to my partner and said, "That sounds like a good profit, I do not think you have a case."
Samuel was able to convince my partner that I was not gouging him and that what I had done was on the "up and up", fair, and equitable. Not only that but what I value most about Samuel was that he preserved a friendship that has lasted the years since then. For this I am very much in debt to him even though he was the adversarial attorney.

After consulting with Diana about the many HOA issues in our neighborhood, the Board decided she was the right attorney for the job. With a neighborhood that was approximately 59% delinquent and inappropriate use of funds by the prior Board members, we knew it was going to be a challenge. With Diana's direction on demand letters, liens and court litigations, the neighborhood is back on track. We recovered the majority of money from the inappropriate use from the prior Board members, all past HOA dues are current with the exception of one, and many neglected issues have been corrected! What an accomplishment after years of struggle for this entire neighborhood! All this could not have been done without Diana's help. I am a trial lawyer but also a client of Andrea Capua's. Andrea drafted the prenuptial agreement my husband and I used for our respective second marriages, to each other. She was sensitive and caring and very skilled both legally and in the counselling aspect of domestic law engagements. We have gone back to her when other issues have arisen in our domestic setting and will continue to do as needed.

We have had to call upon Vickie numerous times in order to fight the public school system to provide what is required by law for our two boys with learning disabilities. Vickie was driven, empathetic to our situation and persistent with the school staff and county attorney, so much so that the school board had to call an attorney from the NC State Board of Education. This attorney conceded that the county was egregiously non compliant and ruling in our favor. Our oldest son eventually received a full academic scholarship to college years later and we credit this success to Vickie for her steadfast determination! She is unbelievable.

Case involved harassment and bulling at my workplace..Organization failed to follow policy and intervene for me..When I responded to the aggressor's rude behavior I was basically given the choice to quit or be terminated...Reasons given included that I did not show remorse and could not guarantee them that it wouldn't happen again. 18+ yrs of loyal service as an RN didn't matter..No clear laws to protect me but Paul Capua did an exceptional job trying to find justice for me. I highly recommend him and would use him again should the need arise..

Chelsea is by far the most trustworthy and responsive lawyer we have experienced. Her knowledge is vast and when faced with an area outside of her specialties, she finds the answer fast with accurate facts. We trust Chelsea and the firm with all matters of law. The cost is very fair, exceptionally fair. The estate is a package price while offers a very comprehensive plan that is very well thought out and executed with answers to questions plus she poses questions that one might not consider, very well thought out. As for business, Operating agreements and many of the partnership type contracts are offered and in a timely manner. Chelsea is very efficient with time and is able to take a long drawn out process and minimize the minor details to return a polished product, contractually and otherwise. Plus, she is ridiculously nice.

Faced with a payment collection problem Mr. McLawhorn was able to arrange a mediation to try to negotiate the issues and avoid costly litigation. Mclawhorn was well prepared and was able to aggressively point out the pitfalls and downside of the debtors position and secured a full judgment and ultimately collection of the debt. His guidance during the entire process exceeded all our expectations!

We had been receiving threatening letters from the IRS for several years. The notices were frightening enough, but the threats to confiscate property and bank accounts kept us awake at nights. We were 3 years behind on both our private business and our personal taxes. We desperately needed somebody to help us sort it all out. The amount of money we owed seemed overwhelming and we didn't know where or who to turn to for help. The idea of picking up the phone and calling the IRS was terrifying. We located Kevin Sayed from a google search and from the very first point of contact, he took the ball and ran with it. Along with offering us reassurances, he was able to wade through our pile of documents and get the taxes filed for all of the missing years - for both personal and business. He immediately contacted the IRS for us - at both the Federal and State levels. Because we had made a major move within the last few years, our returns involved filing within several states. Kevin and his staff handled it all with ease. Best of all, Kevin negotiated with the Federal and State tax officials and developed a reasonable monthly payment plan for us. During the process, Kevin was very quick to respond to all of our inquiries and kept us informed every step of the way. We plan on using Kevin whenever we need our taxes handled. He is professional, efficient, reassuring and takes control quickly of difficult situations. On top of that, he has a sense of humor (difficult to find with a lawyer, ha!). If you're in tax trouble with the IRS and don't know who to go to - we highly recommend Kevin Sayed. My husband & I contacted Kevin's firm after a surprise levy from the state DOR left our bank acct with a $0 balance. From the moment Kevin got on the phone I felt instantly at peace. He was calm, understanding, downright funny at times (helped to break the tension!), and really knew his stuff. I was frantic when I made the call and by the time I was done talking with Kevin I felt like all was right with the world!
Meeting with him was just the same. He had answers to all my questions, was a complete straight-shooter (no beating around the bush or placating from this guy!), and managed to help us out with a back tax problem that has haunted us for 6 years! By the time Kevin got done playing phone tag with the state DOR, we had a feasible payment plan in place, the levy lifted from our bank account, and a promise that they would leave us alone as long as we held up our end of the bargain! YES! He did such a great job with my husband's state back tax problem that we've even retained him to work on my husband's IRS back tax problem now! He's THAT good!
On top of being a great lawyer, he's incredibly caring- even following up and asking if my husband was feeling better (he had the flu). He's also really quick on turnaround time. I've never called that he wasn't available and he is so quick on email it's ridiculous! I appreciated that he was so honest with me, like letting me know that stuff I was attempting to do myself (i.e. bargaining with the IRS) would have completely not worked because I didn't have all the pieces in place to do so effectively. Once he showed me the parts I was missing, I realized I wouldn't have been effective at all- thank goodness he's there to pick up my slack!
Kevin truly is a miracle worker and I would recommend him to the highest degree. I felt like we were never going to be able to get out from under the spectre of these taxing authorities and with his help I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. If you need help with taxation issues, he's your man!

Taylor has been a very trusted advisor to my business for more than 5 years.
He understands the complexity of issues and is quick to communicate the limits of his own legal understanding of specific topics. Importantly, the next you speak with him, he often knows a great deal more about those areas where he felt he was lacking. That shows enthusiasm, energy and integrity - important values that are the foundation of his practice.
Taylor is also a fine communicator - often pointing out the nuance of specific agreements and areas where we might be concerned. This quality was particularly helpful in my most recent agreement with a longtime business partner.
Additionally, Taylor successfully advised me through a difficult negotiation with Chinese business partners that required special attention to international laws governing disputes and arbitration. He understands these areas quite well now because my agreement required him to do so.
I trust him and could not offer a stronger recommendation of his services and practice. He's a good man.
