I first consulted with Kevin in 2018 when I was suspended from my job as a nurse and reported to the BRN. From the first meeting, it was clear that Kevin is extremely knoweldgeable and skilled at what he does. He expertly advised me on what would happen next and steps that I could take to be proactive in helping my case. Kevin fought hard and advocated for me at every turn. Throughout my BRN case he kept me informed and prepared me so well for each meeting or hearing. With Kevin's help I was able to have minimal probation requirements and keep my recovery cost low. This was hugely helpful financially and logistically- as BRN probation requirements can be very time consuming and costly. Most importantly Kevin reached out to let me know that I was eligible to apply for early termination and again fought so hard on my behalf. My license was restored early and I am so grateful to Kevin and his team for helping me to be supported and informed during the process and get my life and career back to normal as soon as possible. If you're facing licensing issues or probation- you may hear that you can navigate the process without representation but I DO NOT recommend this. You need a lawyer who truly knows all the ins and outs of the process and when and what to advocate for. Kevin is the best there is. I also have to acknowledge that his entire staff is super responsive and efficient. With Kevin and his team you get great representation but you also get a genuinely caring team and approach as well. Cannot recommend them enough!!

Sam played a critical role in protecting my acupuncture license. Apart from his foresight, understanding of the law as well as the intricacies of the administrative process - he has the ability to listen and understand different circumstances/cultures/backgrounds in formulating his legal theory and strategic counsel is what sets him apart. You can find lawyers anywhere, but you can't find one that really wants to listen and follows up and see through the entire process. Everything in relation to my license ended up working out and Sam played a huge role in ensuring that this was the outcome. Can't thank him enough and hopefully - everyone can feel confident in turning to Sam when in need.

I had very difficult IRS issue to say the least, from the first day I walk into the RJS office I could feel the weight being lifted. Ronnie and his team were there for me through out the whole process which took almost 2 years, not once did I feel I was in the fight alone. The professional service they proved over and over again. I have had other things in the past that required me to seek professional guidance and not once have I received the same care and understanding of me and my situation that Ronnie and his team gave (100%) at a time when I needed. Dealing with the IRS at any level can be a very scary place, I truly thank God for bring RJS law to my rescue because in so many ways thats what they did. If you thinking of who you should be hiring for your situation I would strongly recommend you sit down with Ronson or anyone of the team, and talk it through. If your like me and need that extra attention you will find it here, they don't miss phone calls and your email will be responded to immediately and if there is no resolution and you have to go to face the judge the experience and knowledge is there to defend you, a lot of Attorneys say they can do this until you get to that point and then they can't, they either don't have the experience or the knowledge or the Balls to see it through, RJS does. This should have been written awhile ago, sorry it hasn't been because they truly deserve it.

Our landlord was insisting that we sign a new lease for 1 year (our initial year was almost complete) and we kindly asked for a month to month contract. We were excellent tenants who took care of the house. Normally a landlord can refuse and we all move on. But this was during covid and we had no intention of moving. Eric ameliorated the situation through suggested courses of action without ever having to file a claim or do any formal proceedings. He is patient and really knows real estate law.

Eric is a great attorney. We retained Eric as our counsel for our mortgage transaction. In short, he was superb and everyone should retain him.
To be more specific, his knowledge of real estate laws, especially the CA building and safety code(s) helped us tremendously. His replies were always in detail and he addressed all my concerns, including any hypos I presented to him.

I contacted Mr. Ching with an emergency situation: a 3-day pay or quit notice issued to my ex-husband who is in coma in hospital. I wanted to make sure I write a review for Jordon Harlan after completion of my case as I believe he is absolutely the best attorney in San Diego specially in the areas of employment law and medical malpractice.
As a physician with a complicated and difficult medical legal case, I had interviewed multiple attorneys with very high recommendations and great reviews from various sources such as family members, friends and websites such as superlawyer/yelp. However, after speaking with Jordon, I knew immediately that I only wished for him to take my case.
First of all, Jordon is excellent at communication and extremely efficient at returning phone calls and replying to emails. He is very knowledgeable and knows the employment and insurance/medical malpractice law in great detail. He can explain complicated legal issues with great ease and simplicity and finds solutions for complicated legal issues with a great degree of competence that I found very reassuring throughout my case. He is also very emphatic and trustworthy and listened with great care to my concerns at every step of the way.
During the entire process, Jordon kept me up to date and explained everything to me very clearly. He is very knowledgeable, dependable, and handled everything in a timely manner. He handled my case with great expertise, care and competence and we achieved an amazing result beyond my expectations.

I found Jordon through Avvo and contacted him regarding a situation with my previous employer (I also contacted other attorneys and he was by far the most responsive). My situation was complicated and, unfortunately, time-sensitive. The consultation was outstanding and helpful and he never once pressured me to retain him. Beyond that, Jordon was clear and honest where his strengths were and did his research on his own (calling other specialized attorneys) into my situation, as necessary. Ultimately, I ended up with a great result!

Of all of the half dozen local and distant LTD attorneys I interviewed over the phone, Mr. Bonnici seemed most thorough in his explanation of processes and the various directions my case could go. Furthermore, he had strategic ideas, that none of the other lawyers presented, that were pertinent to my particular situation. That impressed me that he took the time to hear my situation and treat it as a whole rather than just a one-size-fits-all approach.
Throughout the months, Mr. Bonnici always kept good lines of communication, promptly addressing any questions or concerns I had, and very thoroughly requesting necessary documentation from me. This was very reassuring through what would have otherwise been a more stressful process. It was comforting to know I was in good hands.
Ultimately, Mr. Bonnici's strategies and methods of countering the LTD company's "expert opinions" proved successful. I believe this is because he maintained such good communication with me and was so thorough about collecting important information from me. He was, thereby, able to see the big picture and present that to knock down the many blocks the opposition attempted to put forth as their reasons for denying my claim.
I truly don't think I could have succeeded in my appeal without the expert help of Mr. Bonnici. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who finds him/herself at the point of having an LTD claim denied.

Jim Pokorny is an absolute class act. Talk about someone who knows the system, and crosses every T, and dots every I. I was arrested for domestic violence. Upon contacting Mr. James Pokorny's office, having used him when I was dealing with a juvenile violation, he was responsive and helped me resolve the case with a strong offer from the DA. Well, 10+ years later I received a Drunk in Public, and Mr. Pokorny and his associate Michele Gardenier again were there to help get me out of the situation. Pokorny referred me to one of his junior lawyers, Mr. Erik Bruner, who was absolutely fabulous.
Mr. Bruner had a close and respectful relationship with the City Attorney, making her more amenable to negotiation given the mutual respect. I had a pretty ugly police report, resulting from my attitude towards the officers which included slipping my (thin) wrists from the handcuffs twice, making rude/obnoxious comments, kicking and screaming, the whole gamut. Mr. Bruner managed to get me out of the situation largely scott free. He was able to get the DA to agree to entirely dismiss the case, as if nothing had ever occurred, provided I simply attend a few AA or NA meetings over a pre-specified time period. Very happy with this result. Had previously considered another attorney who acted as if the case would be impossible to get a reasonable deal, so I was shocked when Mr. Bruner was able to so quickly negotiate such an agreeable conclusion, after which my entire case disappears! I was shocked he was able to get such an attractive offer, in short time. GREAT ATTORNEYS, BOTH ERIK AND JAMES POKORNY!
ALSO, GREAT ASSOCIATE IN MICHELE GARDENIER, WHO WORKS FOR MR. POKORNY AND MR. BRUNER AND HANDLES MOST (IF NOT ALL) OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASPECTS OF THE CASE; SHE IS REALLY ON TOP IT!
My opinions here are particularly useful to someone evaluating a prospective attorney, as I had initially used a different attorney who failed to attend several required appearances; acted as if the case was impossible to overcome without harsh penalties; and clearly ran a lackluster operation from an administrative standpoint, hence the failed appearances discussed in the foregoing. I found it to be a huge relief once I had switched to Pokorny's offices and was working with Michele Gardenier, Erik Bruner and James Pokorny.
GREAT FIRM, 100% RECOMMENDED.

Su represented me as my defense in an extremely difficult and high stakes 2.5-year case that ended in trial. Plaintiff, plaintiffs counsel and plaintiffs peers conspired to embellish and fabricate “new facts” for a favorable outcome and Su was able to expose Plaintiffs embellishments and craft an impressive argument around conduct and credibility that ultimately won over the jury with $0 granted to the plaintiff! On top of this, Su took my case extremely personally as if it was her being sued personally taking on a full office of plaintiffs counsel seemingly with ease. I would now consider a good friend and feel sorry for anyone with the misfortune of competing against her in the future.

I can’t even begin to express my gratitude for all that Alexandra and her team have done to help me work through a difficult tax situation. After years of sleepless nights trying and failing to resolve my tax concerns on my own, Alexandra was recommended to me by a local accountant. We had a handful of in-person meetings to bring her and her team up to speed on my situation, and within a short period things started to fall into place. My case involved me working with a business partner with whom I had a verbal contract. I was to exchange work for a percentage of a company we would start together. As Founders, we made many sacrifices to get the company off the ground and make it successful. When I later demanded my shares in writing, my partner made excuses until finally severing the relationship and exploiting my failure to get a written contract in place.

I contacted the office of Michael Ripley based on all the peer reviews I had read. Now I know firsthand, where the five stars come from. Above and beyond is the simple two words to convey the level of work this office, Nelia Castro, Jennifer Kiss and Becky, have done to settle my 2nd lien and modify my first with Wells Fargo, jumbo loan.
I had initally hired the staff to help me modify my first but out of the blue the 2nd lien, returned after over 5 years of no contact. Their last information saying they had written off the loan. However, 2nd liens can come back and will, once you have some equity. I would strongly encourage anyone, not to wait, because the 2nd started foreclosure as soon as the equity was enough that they would get something out of us.
Nelia can be direct when she needs to be but she, Jennifer and Becky are so compassionate. Like a light at the end of a very very long dark tunnel. Listen to them! This level of work takes a considerable amount of time and knowhow and the time and knowledge more than outweighs the compensation. They are a law firm and will need to be compensated as such so they can stay in business and have a life themselves.
Going into this, you need to realize that it is ultimately the homeowners creation of their situation at some point along the way and be willing to accept this, fully. That will be the only way you will get through this. Look at the big picture and do not get caught up in the minutia of the cost, interest rate, submission of documents and trust this law firm will give you an honest view of the situation, whether you like it or not.
We had to borrow, sell, rent a room to make this happen but we were comitted to keeping our home. The staff at Michael Ripley law stuck with us for a long time, all the long way through. I hope this office is able to stay in business. Homeowners desperately need their help and guidance because there is just no one else to turn to.
If you are in our shoes, give a call. Get that consultation. Even if you jumped through the hoops, got all the docs in on time, had the right income, it is still up to the investor to make the final decision and there is no one that has control over that but them, not us, not the law office. If you are reading this, you probably sit where we did over a year ago. It was our 2nd mod, the first 4 years ago. It is a difficult process but with the help of this office it will give you insight to making the best decisions. Good luck!
