Me choosing this firm to support black businesses was the worse thing I could have done. They are only active if you’re a “potential” client. Soon as you become an existing client you will barely hear from anyone. It’s the lack of communication and confidence in this firm that turned me away. I’m 9 months pregnant and have to drive 3 hours to this firm to see about a situation that was “suppose” to be mailed to me that to this day has not been resolved. I was turned around at the door stating everything was “handled” in which it has not. This is a prime example of why many chose to NOT support black owned practices or businesses. I hate to report them to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) but there is no way someone who put their trust and money into a business has to go through so many obstacles and the run around. I’m not telling anyone what to do but what I would not do is support a business who does not support you.

I was caught red handed, irrefutable evidence that I had made some poor decisions. Instead of fitting a losing battle Mr. Lail proposed a solution that would accomplish the best results. I was blinded by fear and thinking that I knew best but I trusted Mr. Lail and was home and safe in a fraction of the time I was deserving of. I doubted Mr. Lail for a moment and ended up looking like a fool when it all worked out like he said it would.
Look, Mr. Lail is not a magician and cannot guarantee you will get off without any consequence. However if you are smart, (well you wouldn’t actually need him, but when you do!) you will get a straight shooting level headed lawyer like Mr. Lail to be your pathfinder back to freedom. He will tell you the truth.

I am the one that wrote the review for Ken on October 23, 2017. My previous experiences with him were all positive, so I will not change what I wrote. I respected him as a lawyer and always showed him kindness. When he suffered the loss of his wife, I sent him a heartfelt letter to give him my condolences. I wanted to encourage him and tried my best to uplift his spirit. When he asked, I wrote a review for him and made it public to show him my appreciation for all that he had done for me.
After my father died in 2022, I thought Ken would be a great resource for advice. To my surprise, he said he didn't remember me, or even believe that he ever handled my case. Even though it hurt, I maintained my composure and spoke to him about my father's complex situation when he asked.
My father passed away from multi-organ failure amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic. What makes his case so complex is the inhumane treatment he received from the staff at a well-known hospital in Atlanta, GA. Sadly, Ken wasn't willing to listen to me discuss those details. His prejudice against individuals who opted not to receive vaccination led him to hang the phone up on me mid-conversation.
He gave me no opportunity to respond to his opinion. I never disrespected him in the entire conversation, but this is how he treated me. Here's what I find so sad about all this:
1. He did not witness the atrocities my mom and I witnessed.
2. He did not face the discrimination and intense hatred my mom and I faced in that hospital.
3. He rejected my story entirely and was quick to judge my father’s situation before inquiring for more information.
So, as of October 1, 2024, I cannot and will not recommend this lawyer to any family for anything because of his choice to not listen. I feel obligated to the people to update my review on this page when my views no longer align with what I wrote in 2017.

Ken and his assistant Christine were gracious, sweet and understanding of me and my case, be it small. It did take a little longer than I expected but once Christine came into the picture, things went smoothly and rather quickly. They made sure to answer any questions I had, and made sure I understood all the details of the case. Best of all, they kept me up to date with all the details regarding hospital bills, my insurance company, and what not. Overall I think they did an amazing job and I highly recommend them to everyone!!

If I could give Attorney Hawkins 1000 🌟 I would. From the very fist time we spoke with her she told my son she would treat him like her little brother as long as he was honest with her. He was facing some serious charges. She asked that we trust her and we did. His case was dismissed !!!!! I had a BK-7 on my TransUnion report. The date is incorrect. It shows from 2016 but BK was in 2012. I also had 60 days late on a car loan from 2019, no collection and charge off Citi bank from 2019 paid. Started rebuilding December 2021 with 522 FICO 8 but none of the strategies worked. I have to look for a credit repair company which my colleague at work recommended to me as a PINNACLE CREDIT SPECIALIST to me. I followed all really good advice on journaling my accident injuries and recovery. I was a little taken aback that the information needed to verify my employmnet was not secured in a timely manner after I was terminated. It was at least 2 months after my severence that I was informed of a need to get my former employer records. I thought that this was completely up to the legal representative to get the information. I did assist as much as i could. I guess I was feeling that the process was so long ,that I needed more updates consistently. Overall it was good towards the end of my rehab and recovery. The longest issue I guess was the billing errors on the part of the insurance company and the hospital. I did feel better after actually meeting my lawyer . Very very nice. I am glad I contacted the law firm,]. They answered my call immediately. They have been with me now a year and a half trying to get everything straight.

Cassandra laughed at me when I explained to her my situation, Cassandra also explained to me that it’s “all about money” when it comes to the business. A few days after I posted my review on Google Mr.Malone reached out to me condemning her actions and explaining to me how it works, and essentially it is about the money because it can cost almost 500k to get your case started. After talking with him I removed my review from google because he seemed sincere. However I just want someone to understand for me it’s the principle and not about the money. I sent all my records over to Mr.Malone around 06/04/2024 and sent an email on 06/22/2024 for an update. Mr.Malone informed me that he would look over my files and get back with me in about a week and if he couldnt help he would refer me to someone who possibly would be able to. I have not heard back, and I’m done, basically if you didn’t lose a limb your case will not be taken seriously and the doctor can do anything to you with no consequences. It’s really sad that everytime I’ve needed a workplace enviorment lawyer or a negligence lawyer this is the energy I have gotten. If you only signed up for the more lucrative cases you’re already doing it wrong. I’m just going to leave this firm to itself. I am leaving my review up and cutting contact. Hopefully I can find someone who is willing to do it for the right reasons. This has been very traumatic for me and I just want someone that is doing it for the right reasons.

I haven’t even settled yet and I’m regretting going with this law firm. Im in the process of waiting for an offer, which I know takes time. My issue is I’ve been calling leaving messages with their answering service to have someone call me back so that I could check the status on my case. It’s been 3 weeks and STILL have not gotten a call back. Again, I know stuff like this takes time, but at least have the common courtesy to give me a call back, especially if I’m only calling to get a status on my case. I’m thinking about dropping Bethune, and just hiring another attorney. This is ridiculous!
Update: Please stay away from this law group! The absolute WORSE! So I went through with firing Bethune and hiring another law group to handle my case. Bethune is the most money hungry law firm I’ve dealt with in my life. I should’ve known to run when I found out I was pregnant back in May and could no longer continue my treatment. Bethune law firm suggested that I waited until January 2025 for me to have my baby, then continue my treatment. Today, I received an email with a copy of an attorney lien basically saying I owe them $5400 for doing absolutely NOTHING! Funny how when I was calling every week to get a status update on case, nobody would contact me back. Now they want money?? This is absolutely ridiculous! All they care about is All State cutting a check for the whole $100,000. Such a greedy a** law firm.

Law offices of K& P failed to represent me. I was involved in a 4 car accident and was deemed not at fault. I was car #2.
