Beck & Beck have been very helpful with dealing with the Tort Victim Compensation Fund after the death of my son. They keep me informed of what's going on with the case and return phone calls in a reasonable time-frame. Have had some mis-steps, (like the lawyer that was supposed to be in Kansas City for the first court date being late) but all in all, I've been happy with their work.
Losing a child is the most painful thing anybody can live through and although I loved him dearly, his death left me with significant debts that he had owed me. Being on SSI, paying the loans I made to him back to the bank continues to be a struggle but I am hopeful that when my case is finally settled, I will be able to at least reduce that financial stress. I lost David on Dec 31, 2020 and still feel like I haven't been able to fully grieve his loss because his debts are still very much alive. Every month I'm reminded of everything I have lost. That may sound cold but I can't think of a better way to explain it.
The vast majority of the insurance (that I was paying for) went to the woman who had filed for divorce more than 2 years prior to his death but it hadn't been finalized and despite her assurances that she'd help with his debts, I haven't received a dime. Meanwhile, she has a great paying job, a new house and had moved on to a new man before he was even killed. Life is not fair, but I am hopeful that with the help of the caring attorneys at Beck & Beck, I will be able to put some of this behind me and eventually move on.

Ken was assigned to my case as the GAL. Our first face to face meeting on or around July 12th 2020. Ken showed up empty handed. Not a pen computer or notebook. He was there to tell me the out come of his investigation that he hadn’t even properly completed or even spoke with me. He came in sit down and as I gave him my info regarding the case, I leant him a pen and paper to write notes down. I told him I was looking forward to getting my witnesses interviewed. Then he said “this has already been “corroborated”. I told him that seemed a little premature considering the only people that he had spoken with that time were the accusing party. They have a fiduciary duty to objectively go into each case. Since we had never met or spoken beyond scheduling, I was surprised he was telling me his mind was made up and this could be bad or worse.
He made deals if I would take xyz class then I could get overnights. I’d take the class he would say yeah well sorry no change.
Ken should never have control over kids and I would not consider him for any job. He lacked integrity, honesty, double billed me, didn’t conduct all interviews, but worst of all was not objective in working with my case. Never reunited with my oldest son and took 1093 days for the other 2.
In my opinion, please do not trust this person in any legal capacity in your case.

So discussed and disappointed with your ruling yesterday where you let a horrid man, who shows no remorse for killing a child, off with just a fine. You were openly rude to the child’s family as if they deserved to be rear ended and have their child taken from them. St. Joseph does NOT need judges like you and we Will remember this at voting time and will do all we can to campaign against you.

We finally settled after almost six years of weasely twists and turns and bogus "slap" lawsuits, and I'm in very satisfied with the results. I contacted Blake immediately after being in a head on collision and I am so happy I did. He was very helpful in guiding us on what we needed to do so that we where not only safe and taken care of, but understood what was happening. Blake cared about our well being and you could see and hear that in his actions. After the accident, Blake was very easy to work with and not pushy or after a quick settlement to get paid. During my treatment he stayed in contact and checked in on my recovery as well as gave updates on the process. Once the settlement was reached, you could see that Blake's hard work and staying after it was successful. I would recommend Blake to any of my friends and family without hesitation. Mr. Green is a highly professional, compassionate and friendly person. He took all of the members of my household into consideration when working for me. My youngest daughter is wheelchair bound and I have to lift her numerous times a day. My accident left me with permanent damage to my lower back and neck; most days I struggle to get up/down from the floor and am in pain when lifting. I was involved in an accident caused by a semi truck and sustained an L-1 compression fracture. I was taken by ambulance to the ER and it was a good 6 months before I was able to do simple everyday things without too much pain. I knew I would need an personal injury attorney and asked around. A friend recommended her husband's college buddy, Blake Green.
I contacted Blake and he came to see me in St. Louis. I was very favorably impressed by his down-to-earth demeanor and straightforward responses to my questions. I asked him for references and he provided several. I contacted all of them and was again very favorably impressed by what I heard.
I agreed to retain him and was pleasantly surprised that his contract was very simple and straightforward, with no fine print. Once I signed the contract and releases, Blake got busy getting all pertinent records and drafting a claim.
Throughout the process, Blake either reached out to me with updates or responded immediately when I emailed him about the case. The claim he prepared was very thorough and after he sent it to the defendant, he kept following up with them to keep the negotiations rolling. During the negotiations, he offered me the option to be kept as well or little informed as I preferred. I was happy to leave the details in his competent hands. After a few months of back and forth, Blake procured a very favorable settlement.
I am an engineer by profession and have dealt with many attorneys, some good, some not so much. Blake is one of the finest I have had the pleasure to work with. My only complaint about him is that his practice does not include business law since I'd hire him in a heartbeat!
