I had just been through a hip implant revision due to the first one being recalled. After my first visit with Keith, I knew I had made the right choice. There are so many ways to describe good people, all of them apply to Keith. We agreed up front that I would carry-on with my life without much interaction with Keith, he would just do what was necessary to get a good outcome. And good outcome it was. I have never had to use an attorney prior. I am in southern Oregon and was unable to find an attorney that would take my case so I started venturing out of town and up north. Stevens and Legal had no hesitation in taking on my case. Yes it was a long process but it eventually paid off and if I didn't reach out, I would be in the same boat just without receiving any back wages. I dealt with Robert Wilson. He was informative and prompt to respond and kept me updated through the entire process. If I ever find myself in a similar situation, I won't even speak to any adjuster without first retaining these individuals. Thanks again Robert.

I hired David to defend a contested restraining order that I had petitioned on an abusive person in my life, successfully. I had spoken with several offices prior to our initial phone call. Some wanted me to put down a substantial retainer before I even got to speak with one of their lawyers, some seemed eager to have me pay a relatively inexpensive rate for a quick sale on a newer/inexperienced attorney, and some needed to charge me a few hundred for the initial consultation. A couple of others gave me a free consultation but it didnt seem that they had a niche in the particular type of restraining order I had petitioned. While I respect that there are myriad business models out there, David's appealed to me because his initial consultation was free to hear me out (before I knew that I wanted to hire him), he immediately spoke with competence and wisdom regarding the particulars of my case, and his "flat fee" model was unique and attractive. His price seemed fair in the end (I could have spent less, I could have spent more) but was well justified by his experience. The fact that this case may have been dragged out into additional hours was eased by me knowing that I would never be charged for anything extra regardless of how long it took. It is my understanding that many attorneys will nickel and dime you to hire them for additional "surprise" hours and may even lie/pressure you about the false need for it, but David (who is aware of the ill-perception of attorney practices) found a creative flat-fee solution to control for this. The flat-fee structure means that he sees the job through to the end regardless of how long it takes. You know that one honest mechanic that you recommend to all of your peers because it seems that every other one out there has a history of trying to sell you extra services that you didnt need but were naive about? Well David can well be compared to that honest mechanic but for the world of lawyers. He seemed to have had an "indie" vibe to him as opposed to the mainstream giant law office lawyers I had interviewed prior to. Regardless, he was able to be confrontational to my opponent as I needed him to be and very knowledgeable. Its clear that even though I strongly considered being self-represented (which David even suggested that I reasonably could and didnt *need* to hire anyone), my case was stronger because I had him fighting it for me. The numerous amounts of evidence I had were more organized and presented to a stronger effect much to the chagrin of my opponent. I'll say it again: his price structure and business model give him more integrity than other lawyers since it removes the incentive for billing for additional "surprise" hours. There isnt any real way for him to take advantage of his clients this way and I think that that's worth its weight on its own.

My case is a very uncommon firearms case in which he knew everything about. Strongly recommend. Most lawyers have to "get back to you". Makes me wonder what they learned in school. Not this guy.

What can I say Sean made a very stressful situation very pleasant. He never hesitated to answer any questions I had. When I picked the company that Sean works for, I didn't know which Attorney I was going to get. When he called me and talk to me he gave me the confidence that I chose the right place and Sean. He told me what he would do for me but would also support any decision about my case, even if he didn't feel it was the right course of action. He was there for me as his Client. I had complete access to him through emails, phone calls, etc. Sean listen to me offer suggestions. He gave me the stress relief I needed so I only had to work through him. After each time that I needed his help, he was there. When he was unavailable he made sure he had some there to help assist me that this made it worry-free. We hired Sean after an on the job injury for my husband. We were originally going it alone because I had a little background in Worker's Comp, so I knew enough to know how things worked. BUT... it became very clear that we were not being treated fairly, so we asked around for an attorney. Sean came HIGHLY recommended and there was a good reason for that. Sean was AMAZING!!!! At 8 months pregnant the car I was driving got t-boned and totaled by a vehicle that ran a stop sign. I had a horrible time dealing with the insurance company and it's representatives especially considering my pregnancy the physical state I was in resulting from the accident. I am the sort of person that would not seek legal counsel under normal circumstances, but I am so glad I did in this case!
Mr. Lynn Smith has gone above and beyond not only in seeing to my legal needs in a way that has served my best interests, but has also been considerate of my emotional needs and circumstances as well. He has been thoroughly informative every step of the way regrading the resolving of my case, and has displayed exceptional communication skills. He has a fantastic lawyerly bed-side manner, and has consistently put me at ease throughout this sometimes difficult process. I was rear-ended and as a result have permanent pain in my back. I was offered $3,000 by the at fault insurance company. I then knew that I had to hire a lawyer, but was uncertain of how to figure out who was going to be honest and look out for my best interest. I was VERY near the end of my statue of limitations with my auto accident and I got bounced around by several different firms. They all explained that I had waited too long and they didn't have enough time to help me. I was really discouraged but was eventually referred to Kafoury & McDougal. They were very positive and told me that even with the situation they would be able to represent me.
Jason was amazing and not only got a full offer settlement from the at fault company, but then filed a claim with my insurance company and got a total of $100,000. I never would have been able to do this without them. My family was in a car accident last Summer. My husband, my son, and I were injured. Nothing major that required hospitalization or surgery, but enough to cause significant pain. Eric & staff spent the necessary time explaining my options, these law suits take time & money. If I hadn't had them working on my behalf, I'd have never understood how complicated a process it is for a laymen.
They filed all the paper work, they handled everything timely & educated me along the way. Eric spent the firms money on operating costs. I kept a log of all my out of pocket expenses & tallied all medical costs which, thanks to Eric & his staff, was reimbursed when we 'settled'.
Eric Tait is a family man who values his clients. He listens, reacts with expert knowledge in his field of expertise. More importantly, I trust him to be fair. My outcome was as good as we could have hoped for.
Personal injuries from an accident are emotional, painful, & never have a simple recovery or solution.
My only regret is that I didn't see him sooner!
Considering trying to go through the process alone would have been an absolute impossibility, especially with the 'other' insurance company calling & wanting you to 'settle' ; even before a proper diagnosis from an orthopedic specialist. Beware injured one, don't fall into the snare of the 'other' insurance company, they are a wolf in disguise!

I was injured in a slip and fall case back in 2014. When the insurance company would not quit harassing me, I decided I needed an attorney. I live in Seattle, so I started there. I called every attorney that was also licensed in Oregon (the accident happened in Oregon). I must have spoken to at least 15 attorneys who laughed me off because it was a slip and fall. They didn't want to hear about it, even when I knew they didn't have to prove liability, just damages.
Some attorney in Oregon referred me to Jose. He listened to me, heard me tell him how liability was already clear and that damages was the only issue that needed to be resolved. Because of this, I got a settlement that was more than any slip and fall that I had ever seen. In fact, I have never seen a slip and fall win. I had telephoned several attorneys regarding my situation. None of them viewed my case as I did; there was something wrong with the timing of a work-related injury claim
and my employment being terminated.
Then, someone referred me to Christopher Slater.
I was instantly impressed with his honesty, knowledge of the law, and how well informed he was of the particular requirements for the industry in which I was employed.
He expressed confidence, patience, and the value of timing with regards to filing my complaint with the proper court.
Christopher's genuine concern regarding my current medical condition was a relief and he advised me to "take care of it first".
Christopher spent a great deal of time on the phone during the initial conference and everytime afterwards.
He was easy to talk with and always straightforward; often using metaphors to get his point across.
And always he made certain I had no questions at the end of all conversations.
I appreciated his mindfulness of my time and distance from his office.
Office meetings were kept to a bare minimum.
The discussions regarding plan of procedures, his work on a contingency basis, and the difference between costs and fees were done via phone or email.
He made sure I understood my responsibilities before, during, and after the process of filing a suit.
The defendent eventually offered a settlement following a decision made by the State of Oregon courts during discovery.
I met with Christopher and the adjudicator to negotiate.
It was apparent he is a plaintiff's lawyer, as he often referred to himself.
I am certain his ethics, values, and professionalism appear very well in a courtroom.
I have a great deal of respect for Christopher and highly recommend him to anyone with questions regarding employment and disablilities.

There are two things we would like to cover in this review for Tom Melville.
First would be our good fortune in actually finding
Mr. Melville. We do not live in the Portland area and went forward with hiring him on the recommendation of another Attorney (who is a friend in the State of Oregon). Our first meeting was friendly, casual, and professional. This wrongful death case was going to have to be handled long distance and he made certain we were well informed and prepared. Never did we feel like we were left with unanswered questions.
Secondly, This case was complicated in many ways but I think the biggest part was to prove that our sister's death was indeed hastened by the after affects of this collision and Not cancer (which was listed on her death certificate).
Two weeks after retirement our sister was broad sided by a large delivery truck that ran a stop sign on a rural road. She was in the hospital for a month...and never recovered. A LOT of effort was made by Mr. Melville to secure medical records and present proof that her broken neck, leg and back led her down a pathway she didn't deserve and the quality of life in her last month is not one she hoped for or planned.
The settlement was fair and we are absolutely pleased with the outcome. He fought hard for us every step of the way!
