I was injured in a slip and fall case back in 2014. When the insurance company would not quit harassing me, I decided I needed an attorney. I live in Seattle, so I started there. I called every attorney that was also licensed in Oregon (the accident happened in Oregon). I must have spoken to at least 15 attorneys who laughed me off because it was a slip and fall. They didn't want to hear about it, even when I knew they didn't have to prove liability, just damages.
Some attorney in Oregon referred me to Jose. He listened to me, heard me tell him how liability was already clear and that damages was the only issue that needed to be resolved. Because of this, I got a settlement that was more than any slip and fall that I had ever seen. In fact, I have never seen a slip and fall win. Jose was excellent in handling my auto accident case. He was very knowledgeable and personable throughout the process, and was always available to answer questions and help me navigate through the complex nature of my case. His team in the office was also stellar, and made the whole process go smooth. Although I of course wish I was not hit in a auto accident and hurt, I'm glad I had Jose on my side through the deposition and mediation, and that I was able to avoid going to court. Mr. Grandy handled a large credit dispute I was involved in, and helped me reach a fair settlement with a company I was having difficulty communicating with. I had telephoned several attorneys regarding my situation. None of them viewed my case as I did; there was something wrong with the timing of a work-related injury claim
and my employment being terminated.
Then, someone referred me to Christopher Slater.
I was instantly impressed with his honesty, knowledge of the law, and how well informed he was of the particular requirements for the industry in which I was employed.
He expressed confidence, patience, and the value of timing with regards to filing my complaint with the proper court.
Christopher's genuine concern regarding my current medical condition was a relief and he advised me to "take care of it first".
Christopher spent a great deal of time on the phone during the initial conference and everytime afterwards.
He was easy to talk with and always straightforward; often using metaphors to get his point across.
And always he made certain I had no questions at the end of all conversations.
I appreciated his mindfulness of my time and distance from his office.
Office meetings were kept to a bare minimum.
The discussions regarding plan of procedures, his work on a contingency basis, and the difference between costs and fees were done via phone or email.
He made sure I understood my responsibilities before, during, and after the process of filing a suit.
The defendent eventually offered a settlement following a decision made by the State of Oregon courts during discovery.
I met with Christopher and the adjudicator to negotiate.
It was apparent he is a plaintiff's lawyer, as he often referred to himself.
I am certain his ethics, values, and professionalism appear very well in a courtroom.
I have a great deal of respect for Christopher and highly recommend him to anyone with questions regarding employment and disablilities.

There are two things we would like to cover in this review for Tom Melville.
First would be our good fortune in actually finding
Mr. Melville. We do not live in the Portland area and went forward with hiring him on the recommendation of another Attorney (who is a friend in the State of Oregon). Our first meeting was friendly, casual, and professional. This wrongful death case was going to have to be handled long distance and he made certain we were well informed and prepared. Never did we feel like we were left with unanswered questions.
Secondly, This case was complicated in many ways but I think the biggest part was to prove that our sister's death was indeed hastened by the after affects of this collision and Not cancer (which was listed on her death certificate).
Two weeks after retirement our sister was broad sided by a large delivery truck that ran a stop sign on a rural road. She was in the hospital for a month...and never recovered. A LOT of effort was made by Mr. Melville to secure medical records and present proof that her broken neck, leg and back led her down a pathway she didn't deserve and the quality of life in her last month is not one she hoped for or planned.
The settlement was fair and we are absolutely pleased with the outcome. He fought hard for us every step of the way!
We surely found the right person for our case and ....

Mr. Elliott served as Probate Attorney for my late Mother's Estate. Throughout the entire ordeal, he kept me fully informed of the proceedings. Probate Law is probably not his chosen legal discipline, but he completed our legal support in a timely fashion without any surprises. John Elliott always showed good manners, courtesy and a professional demeanor. He admittedly was performing outside his normal legal expertise and I felt he could have managed our expectations better than he did - when asked for a timeline to completion, he'd give us several that were exceeded. My overall impression was that, although our case was neither complex nor difficult, I felt he was always being honest and sincere throughout the process with our case. I contacted Todd's office after another attorney turned down my case. On my very first call I was able to speak with Todd directly and was reassured when he agreed to take my case. His office went to work immediately, contacting my medical providers and doing a time consuming review of my medical records. We were up against a tough auto insurer but Todd stuck with It, refusing to cave in to their unreasonable settlement offers. I went to Sarah after being in a car accident. I originally wasn't planning on seeing a lawyer, but after dealing with the other drivers insurance company, I knew it was necessary. Through the whole process Sarah was ALWAYS available and ALWAYS kept me informed on what was happening! While riding a bicycle I was hit from behind by a pickup truck going 55mph. I was badly hurt and spent five days in a Salem hospital. It took many months for me to recover.

He did t give me my contract so he could dispute the payment he got only he was able to make it pay by the hr. Did nothing fir defense I mean would not check evadents, never put motions in, and would not negotiate plea deal as asked and just sold me up the river so when de asked for he gotten. I was injured in a car accident, and I hired a lawyer without any research or knowledge of what to even look for. The experience was terrible, to say the least. I got false information, lost money I didn’t have and wasted a lot of time with a lot of added stress because I couldn’t get any answers or help. I was lucky enough to know someone else who was already going through the legal process with Attorney David Eder. My conversation with them is what also made me realize I was completely with the wrong firm. I was grateful my case hadn’t already closed and reached out to David. He spent time with me on the phone and in person walking me through everything and answering questions so simply, questions I had been asking the old attorney for the last 1.5yrs! During one of my trips to Portland, I happened to be walking around the streets when I came across Kilmer Voorhees & Laurick. This is a highly regarded general practice law firm specializing in litigation and business transaction matters.
What initially drew my attention was the building itself. It was beautifully maintained, and the garden was meticulously groomed. It almost resembled a charming little White House. It turns out that this establishment is a law firm, and if you ever find yourself in need of legal assistance, it might be worth considering their services.
