I hired this law firm about 3 weeks ago. My lawyer was Ebony. I asked a few questions about my divorce and couldn’t understand George law never was the law explained to me. I paid my retainer fee. Then they started asking me if I wanted to go to trial, but wouldn’t explain why would you go to trial in a divorce? We only have one item a car to get worked out then wanted me to pay 12,500$ then wanted me to pay $2500 for an emergency hearing for my car. After asking questions one of the partners called me and told me….. they could not handle my case after reviewing emails between me and Ebony …… you need to be knowledgeable in your case ….. remember you are paying them…. Make your own decision to use them or not….. oh and lost my money …. This law firm Would not return my funds …… not great business…..

I RECIEVED COUNTLESS REPEATED EMAILS ASKING THE SAME QUESTIONS OVER AMD OVER FROM LAUREN ONLY TO BE CHARGED ALMOST 900.00 JUST FOR EMAILS. EVERY FORM OF COMMUNICATION YOUR ATTORNEY HAS WITH ANYONE FOR YOUR CASE YOU WILL BE CHARGED. I ASKED FOR A SIMPLE DOCUMENT TO BE CREATED TO FILE AND WAS CHARGED 7,000.00 ONLY FOR THE DOCUMENT NEVER TO BE FILED WITH THE COURTS. I WAS THEN TOLD AFTER PAYING A 2500.00 RETAINER THAT I NEEDED TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL 4,000.00 FOR THE DOCUMENT TO BE CREATED THEN ANOTHER 2,000.00 TO FILE THE DOCUMENT IN COURT. I SPOKE TO 2 OTHER LAW FIRMS WHO ADVISED ME THAT I WAS BEING RIPPED OFF BY THIS LAW FIRM. THEY WERE SHOCKED WHEN I TOLD THEM THIS LAW FIRM IS REQUESTING AN ADDITIONAL 4,000.00 FROM.ME.AND NO PAPERS HAVE BEEN FILED IN COURT.

The lawyer is very pleasant and respectful. I. My experience may not be your experience when I call this Law Firm I let Diego that my insurance would not be taken responsibility for this accident. I asked him if they could still represent me. He said yes, they would get a copy of the police report. And try to get the charges dismissed. My first meeting with the lawyer representing this Law Firm was with a young lady. She came late to the courthouse, she wanted me to fill out a pretrial intervention form. I informed her that I couldn't fill out that form because my insurance was not taking responsibility for this accident. She asked me how do you know the insurance company has to take a responsibility? I said because it's written on the the paper. She said well let's fill it out anyway, she filled it out. I asked the young lady to have Miss Duvernay call me. When Miss Duvernay called me, I said, I had informed you that I my insurance was not taking responsibility for this accident. So I don't know I can't do the pretrial intervention. She said, you didn't inform me because I don't answer the calls. I said well I am from Santiago, she said you mean Diego I said yes maybe we can get it dismissed on the fact that he didn't give you a police report. We're on the same page now I understand. Now before my next court date I called Diego to ask him to describe the person that was coming to meet me if it wasn't going to be Miss Duvernay. He said , well we only work with two other ladies so it would be one of them preview when I got to the courthouse a gentleman call me on the phone asking me where I was located. He said I'm here to pick up the pretrial intervention form. I said okay I'm getting frustrated now I've already told Miss Duvernay is that my insurance is not taking responsibility for this accident. So he went and got a copy of the form, he said I read it I was hoping it didn't indicate that's the insurance had to take responsibility for the accident but it does. Miss Duvernay call me later that evening, she said, I thought you wanted to go ahead with it. I said that I can't do pretrial my insurance is not taking responsibility for the accident. A court date was set and missed, because I wasn't informed of the court date I just happened to check my mail, while checking my mailbox I realize that he got a failure to appear. The first thing I did was to send a message to Miss Duvernay. When she sent me a message back it started off with: "first of all..."The Law Firm did send a lawyer to go fix it. Her name Kristen Clark. I was told to wait for my next court date, the law firm would inform me. I did not believe them so I called for my next court date. They did not show, there were two other court date set they did not show for either one of those court dates. The judge even called the law firm they still miss the court date. It took a Google review Duvernay and the chargeback. She told me she had conflicts in the court should have known about it. There was only one problem she wasn't assigned to my case unless she was Kristen Clark. She did show up the next court date, but during the third Miss court date I was asked, if I wanted a public defender, I said yes. But when Ms Duvernay asked me to give her a chance I said okay since it wasn't her that was supposed to show up. Now I was told signed up with this Law Firm they would get a copy of this police report. But the public defender delivered it to me and I had to take it to the law firm. On the trial date we were supposed to meet at 9:15 because the trial was at 10:00. Miss Duvernay as with every court appearance we made she came at 9:40, I could excuse that but at 9:40 was when she told me all the evidence I had ,was usable. They had the information for a year. My Insurance indicated that they were looking at the cars damages. She did not ask for the pictures. So we went in the court with nothing. I had a diagram of the damage. Miss Duvernay asked, what's that? It was then I realized that nothing I uploaded was looked at.

Although our encounter was not a perfect one, Brandy remained professional and handled the issues that occurred in our case with confidence and poise. She is very thorough in her investigation and does her best to place priority on the care and well being of the children involved rather than the parties themselves. She also has a way of making children feel calm… even during very intense situations! I would certainly recommend Brandy as a GAL in any case due to her high level of compassion, dependability, and accountability. Do Not Use This Law Firm. This woman filed my paperwork incorrectly. I had to pay filing fees online and in person for the same case. After she agreed to fix the issue and pay the filing fee to “re-file” they still messed it up. I had to go down to the court house to file it again and pay another fee on my own. After all of that come to find out the attorney filed the wrong case all together and now I am having to re-file again. As an attorney you should not what to file and what not to file. The attorney is trying to make me pay all fees again even though it is her fault that everything is delayed. This is a custody case so I would not use this last. STAY AWAY!!

Writing a public testimonial for the person who helped save me from a toxic marriage is loaded with emotion. Nobody comes to this most important decision of their lives lightly. I was terrified when I started the process.
From my first interaction with the firm, everybody took the time to get to know me as a human, my story, and my priorities. Even though I was referred to Dawn Smith, Sandy gently recommended Laura as a better fit for my personality and case. This recommendation locked me in - I knew everybody there would take care of me and my daughter's wellbeing first. I also knew I could go about my divorce the way I wanted - with dignity, civility, and *not* a tit for tat mentality.
Laura always allowed me to make my own choices, advising me of all the pros and cons. She prioritized me when circumstances escalated, and ensured my safety. The process was grueling, but I had unwavering confidence in her as my counsel. I have nothing but praise for Atty McLeod..she is the consummate professional. I truly believe that it was the grace of God that led me to her. At the recommendation of another attorney, I walked into her office approximately a year and three months ago not knowing what to expect. Attorney McLeod listened to me and fought to make sure received fair division of the property; yet, she gave me realistic expectations throughout the process. There were times when I shut down and was not communicating with Atty McLeod as regularly as needed but she never gave up on me.
In the end, I received more that I expected or requested and I attribute this to Atty McLeod's advisement and stellar representation in court. I will always love and admire this lady because not only was she my lawyer, but she was also my confidant. I always felt that she believed me and that she genuinely cared about my well being.
Thank God for bringing me through and directing me to attorney McCleod's office!

Run from this attorney, run. Yes it is fair to say our case didn't go the way we would have liked it to have gone. In fairness the reason we hired her was because of the great reviews received not only from an internet sources but also from other clients she represented in their cases. Our experience with Jennifer was a complete disaster. We have multiple children in this case, she couldn't remember if they were boys or girls, she rarely returned phone calls or emails even after following up multiple times for a responses, her paralegal was so rude at times on the phone to a point that we was scared to even call, there was times she didn't even remember what we had consulted with her on and then when we was at court she would say this is the first she was hearing of it and then when we reminded her we discussed this with her she would say she must have forgot, we would have to chase paper work and often we would learn we should have received it weeks prior, their was no prep prior to any court hearings we would show up at court and wing it from the hip, she showed up to court completely unprepared ever time. Please be carful....

I was being bullied by a lawyer who handled my divorce. He gave up on my case when my money ran out and I lost everything that was important to me (my children). He didn't want a payment plan, just money or nothing. Fast forward three years and I start receiving emails stating i still owe $3000. I kept asking for them to send me an invoice of my bill or something proving that I owed more money. I was harassed by these emails for months and they weighed heavily on me. I reached out on the next door app to get advice from any of my neighbors who had been through a similar situation. Mr. Halberg contacted me and gave me his contact info. After giving him all the details, he handled the situation in a very professional and cordial manner and I haven't heard from the bully lawyer since. Mr. Halberg charged me absolutely nothing to help me out and i am eternally grateful. He is a really good man and a really good human.

I recommend that everyone avoid this attorney at all costs as I believe his performance to be terrible. I initially hired Blake Halberg in 09/16 to modify my divorce decree with the primary goal of downward modification or elimination of alimony and several other modifications such as a more amicable split in transportation of my son between me and my ex-wife. During our initial consultation and Blake Halberg's review of my divorce decree I was assured this would be no problem and very easy to accomplish my stated goals. Upon filing the appropriate paperwork with the court and communicating with opposing counsel I was advised by Blake Halberg in 04/17 that the "lump sum" type of alimony awarded to my ex-wife is non-modifiable under Georgia law. This key fact was never communicated to me at any time by Blake Halberg and I now I have absolutely nothing to show for the $6,000.00 paid to attorney Blake Halberg for his services in addition to $2200.00 more I have been billed but am refusing to pay. Upon learning of his failure to achieve my stated goals I immediately terminated attorney Blake Halberg and have retained a different attorney which has only just now been resolved in April of 2018.

Natalie represented for my recent divorce case. Natalie was very professional and knowledgeable in the area of divorce law. I hired Jessica on behalf of my son for a custody case. My son was trying to get custody against the maternal grandmother. One would think this is a slam dunk type case for a parent to get custody but unfortunately, it's not. Jessica worked on this case for a little over a year and did a great job based on the circumstances. We had a GAL who recommended that the grandmother get custody of the child but her recommendation had nothing to do with understanding of the law. Jessica was extremely passionate about this case and I would say she was amazing in trying to overcome so many obstacles that should not have been apart of this case. I would highly recommend Jessica as a Father's Rights Attorney.

Jessica actually did me a favor by taking my case. I could have used other lawyers, but would have shorted myself.
She is honest with you about your situation, tells you what to expect, and fights for you. She protected my rights as a father, who had done nothing wrong, against someone who had been working with "big name" lawyers to paint me in a negative light and build a divorce case against me for almost a year, without my knowledge. She had multiple lawyers as opponents for my case and was on top of the application of law and facts in a manner which almost made me feel embarrassed for them.

While the divorce system is basically broke and the attorneys will always win. Barbara was the worst.... She drained all money that was given to her and when fired she made sure she burned through every nickel in the last several days. She was terrible and unprepared in court and had no idea of who I was or what was being said or done in the courts. I have dealt with the legal system in my business(s) for many decades and she is quite possibly the worst I have had to deal with. I wish I would not have hired her and hope someone else does not make the same mistake I made.
And of the several attorneys I hired Ms. Keon was the most expensive even though she was the shortest duration of representation and accomplished the least. Again, the system is broke - by design. Ms. Keon does not help the cause.

Ms. White has a very difficult job. At the end of the day at least half of a party will not be happy with her because she has to make a decision about her client, your child, and decide which home is best for them. I found her to be absolutely incredible, very fare, extremely direct, and a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing a fare and balanced GAL.

If you are not the one whom is paying her please do not choose her. I was young and very nieve. child custody cases are very sensative and triggering and she'll take full advantage of this. she'll make you comfortable with confiding in her telling your story only for the purpose of you choosing her as your Gal and will then become very bias and intentionally try to prove the points of the paying party. If you are the paying party she's absolutely great at siding with anything and everything you claim and will work over time to do so. For single mothers living in low income areas please do not pick this women. she'll bring up a case where a mother thats "less fortunate" won to make you feel comfortable tell you how finances don't play a part in the case then she will indeed use your financial state against you and even things happening In your neighborhood that has absolutely nothing to do with you. she'll offer you legal advice to make it seem like she "helping you" only to then turn against you in court. she lacks intuition and foresight greatly and will project what ever she's personally went through and her previous cases on to you. You will indeed input loosing your child while she convinces herself and the courts that that is "what's best" her opinion "what's best" boils down to who financially has more money. I had hope and faith in her hearing my story and using her intuition and skills to see what's happening and actually speak the truth the absolute total opposite happen and its saddens my heart to even have to write this. save yourself and your relationship with your child and do not choose this women if you are not paying.

I hired this law firm about 3 weeks ago. My lawyer was Ebony. I asked a few questions about my divorce and couldn’t understand George law never was the law explained to me. I paid my retainer fee. Then they started asking me if I wanted to go to trial, but wouldn’t explain why would you go to trial in a divorce? We only have one item a car to get worked out then wanted me to pay 12,500$ then wanted me to pay $2500 for an emergency hearing for my car. After asking questions one of the partners called me and told me….. they could not handle my case after reviewing emails between me and Ebony …… you need to be knowledgeable in your case ….. remember you are paying them…. Make your own decision to use them or not….. oh and lost my money …. This law firm Would not return my funds …… not great business…..

I used this lawyer for a divorce case, a DUI, and a bankruptcy case. He did a great job in court and made me feel worlds better when I spoke to him in appointments before court. He answered my calls and emails most of the time-there were times I had a little bit of trouble hearing back from him but when it mattered he was there. He knew his stuff, he had experience in many other cases like mine and he was right about most of his predictions. There were some times when the case turned out a little bit worse than expected but there were also times it turned out much better than expected! He came through in a pinch for me when I had to hire him at the very last minute for something I thought I had already had fixed. His prices are very reasonable and I can tell he is a person who had my best interest at heart. I have used lawyers in the past who I felt did not have my best interest at heart so I do know the difference.
