Mike has a desire to be successful in his services and representing myself. This was first demonstrated to me when Mike did his research on me to determine if I was being honest with him in the beginning. When he was certain that he was given all the correct facts, he took on the case. I really appreciated this, because when he accepted my case, he was committed to it and to me. Mike would review every aspect with me and explain the alternatives including the potential cost impacts with the various options before proceeding. Mike dealt professionally with everything that needed to be addressed. He discussed the issues with me and listened to what I had to say without making any pre-judgments. Mike would summarize the issues well and keep to the facts even though the other party attempted to “rabbit trail” at every opportunity. My “after-divorce” problems continued for years as the other party would continually challenge the final order. Even in this, Mike dealt professionally and worked to keep my interests protected. Mike is a professional individual that is first looking for a mutual agreement in a divorce but when a mutual agreement is not obtainable, he worked aggressively for my interests.

I had an ugly divorce and (1) year after the judgment was final…it got worse. I selected Mike to replace my original attorney. What a great decision! Mike stepped in and helped us through the unresolved issues and battles. He provided great legal counsel and shared wisdom that resulted in solving problems others had been unable to conclude. Since the divorce, I have worked with Mike on a couple of business matters, with the same result. 3 Different MI Lawyers told me they did not feel comfortable taking my case because they felt they couldn't win. Michael took my money and told me I could win, right off the bat...that should tell you everything you need to know. I will not take this review down unless his law firm makes things right with me and my wife.

The Synopsis: Michael "terminated" as he would say, our agreement because I missed two calls we had scheduled. CONTEXT: I missed his call because I was at my wedding rehearsal, preparing for my wedding, the next day. I truly believe there was a deeper reason as to why he terminated our agreement that he does not want to admit. However, I'm just going to speculate because I'm fearful Michael will come after me in the court room because his resources are much vaster than mine.

I was involved in a case and missed the court. When I received the verdict I was desperate. I called 5 different law firms to ask for help, but most of them told me they cannot help me. My colleagues recommended Jacalen's firm. They told me if there is anyone can help me in my case, her firm would be the best place in Ann Arbor area. So I went there hoping there would help me. I was lucky that Jacalen was there and she reviewed my case. She gave me some very professional advises and explained in detail how I could do for my situation. After I hired her as my lawyer in that case, she helped me solved my problem in time. After 4 months, the lawyer from another side in that case came to me again and ask money, saying I owe him about $5,000. I sent Jacalen an email ask for help, she helped me in the second day and the lawyer on the other side admit that the letter ask money from me is a mistake. She helped me again in time. And she did not charge me for this. I do appriate her quick response and very professional, honest, and thoughful service.

I have used this firm’s services for bankruptcy and also a divorce with custody being the main dispute. Unfortunately my ex was extreamly difficult and would not agree to anything therefor my case ended up in a trial. Both Lukas and his wife Katherine attended which was awesome having two attorney’s fighting for not only my but my children’s best interest. The way they worked together and their level of expertise was incredible. They are personable and professional, strategic and compassionate. Derek is just like anyone else but got a special talent. He is AMAZING with his work. Never been in trouble before let alone being charged with 4 felony counts for things I didn’t do. I finally get sentenced soon and he helped me get a plea deal with No jail and just one 5 year felony instead of having 3 more which were 20 year ones. I’m curious how sentencing will go on zoom and what he has to say. Another great thing is after 5 years and I stay out of trouble I can luckily get the felony expunged. Very very grateful for that chance cuz I really don’t wanna be a felon and have that being held over me for the rest of my life. Thank u for all you do Mr. Swajanen:)
