3 Different MI Lawyers told me they did not feel comfortable taking my case because they felt they couldn't win. Michael took my money and told me I could win, right off the bat...that should tell you everything you need to know. I will not take this review down unless his law firm makes things right with me and my wife.

The Synopsis: Michael "terminated" as he would say, our agreement because I missed two calls we had scheduled. CONTEXT: I missed his call because I was at my wedding rehearsal, preparing for my wedding, the next day. I truly believe there was a deeper reason as to why he terminated our agreement that he does not want to admit. However, I'm just going to speculate because I'm fearful Michael will come after me in the court room because his resources are much vaster than mine.

"If your child does not come with you for your parenting time, then you pick your child up, throw them over your shoulder, strap them in your car, and shut them in their room at your house." This was the advice Rex Brueggemann gave me when, in 2022, I engaged with him to represent me in the separation from my non-married partner of over 15 years.
Rex consistently gave me advice that was counter to my interests as a father/parent and as a business owner.
His tactic seems to rely on heavily pressuring his clients to "settle", much to the favor of the opposing party, while not acting on my requests that would balance the end results of the ruling order.
In the end, I had to terminate my engagement with Rex and hire another attorney to represent me. Hiring Rex was a waste of time and money, and it cost me significant leverage with gaining equal parenting time for my children. In the end, he wouldn't even refund the balance of my retainer, adding to the ridiculousness of this experience.
I only hope this review helps others save time and money and hardship.

Hired Rex to assist in the facilitation of my divorce. Helped me save my company, fairly allocate the estate, and negotiate through marital assets. Rex was communicative, understanding, thorough, and successful.
He later helped successfully terminate un unnecessary PPO filed by previous spouse and followed through on his strategy to prove innocence. Rex had a difficult job ahead of him and I believe he did as much as he was able to.
Rex understands the system, the local agents at play, and will advise you with real time data and knowledge. I didn't always agree with Rex, but trusted him fully and chose to let him lead. We ended up with the most desirable outcome of a terribly undesirable situation.

I am writing this review as a Legal Guardian of a child, who had Tracie Dinehart as a LGAL. Tracie was very impressive and attentive to the child's wants and needs. She did an amazing job representing the child in court. She was given very short notice of the case, and once she had the history of the case, she immediately went to work on the child's behalf. If Tracie works this hard for every client, then I have no doubt in my mind that any client would be satisfied with Tracie.

If you want your case handled by a professional, look elsewhere. Dynah does not communicate well, at all. If you have a time sensitive case, good luck. With numerous attempts to reach her, calls and texts get ignored, and there is always an excuse as to why she does not do her job. We wasted our retainer and our time on Dynah and Artisan Legal. One star is too many.

I had a deeply unsatisfactory experience with Dynah as my lawyer.
1. She didn't even know my child's name and submitted legal papers with another family's names on them with 3 children, when I only have 1. She attached terms and conditions in my judgment that were made for a family of 5 going through a divorce, and I was never married to the other parent and did not have any shared assets.
2. Despite our contract never mentioning it (I've read all the papers I've signed 3 times over), she kept the credit on my account for herself and did not give me back the extra funds on my account.
3. When the case started, I wasn’t in the best financial position, but still dropped a few thousand to hire who I thought would be great. During child support discussions, Dynah said to me "He (the other party) said he wasn't going to pay you any child support. Since you're running out of money, I suggest you just sign the papers." I ended up signing the papers 2 hours after that call and received only $90 a month in child support, while paying $800 a month for child care, with the support including $0 for child care. When childcare costs increased to $1300 a month, I filed a motion to change support by myself, resulting in an order for the other party to pay $683 a month. Over the span of three years, I paid 39k for childcare, while the other party paid less than 3 thousand dollars. Again… I paid 39k for daycare, and the other party paid zero in childcare expenses. Dynah did nothing for me.
4. The parenting judgment is even worse.
Noncustodial parent had zero overnights with our kid, and Dynah included in the judgement that they could claim her in odd years, and I even years.
Those daycare credits and dependent credits? Dynah let him have it all, even though federal law says otherwise. How do you even drop the ball on a case like this? It was so simple.
5. The parenting judgement? “The Wayne County Circuit Court Co-Parenting Plan shall be used in this case.” …My case was in Oakland County.
6. The other party is someone who is always on the move. Why did she think he’d be able to get our kid every week on a weekday, and decide to include that in the judgement?.. Dynah probably thought it didn’t matter considering “he doesn’t have to see her, this just says when he can”
These reasons among many others just goes to show how she doesn’t care and how I ended up with a horrible judgment.
Let me be very clear here - I’ve never been one to withhold my daughter from seeing her other parent or their family - I want them to see her. My kid has a great relationship with them and even when he goes months without seeing her, I support her and do fine just by myself. My daughter’s paternal grandmother was deployed overseas, and I still make sure they FaceTime uninterrupted. So this isn’t one of those “bitter moms” stories (I’m the one providing the bulk of the support in our order).. this is me finally realizing 3 years after my case that Dynah royally screwed me over.
Not that it matters, but Dynah may as well have been working for the other party.
Seeing the other honest reviews for Dynah gave me the courage and motivation to speak up. Most of her reviewers have only one review on their profile, and that's a 5-star review for Dynah. When it comes to this lawyer, do yourself a favor and do not just walk away, run away. And do that as fast as you can.
Responding to the response and being done -
"Parenting time and tax exemptions are negotiated terms in every divorce with children proceeding."
See how she says this when not only was I never married, but I also mentioned it above that I was never married? I'll say it again - This was not a divorce.
"Clients always have an active role in developing the offer for settlement."
Then why wasn't I included on the call with the other party and attorney when you all decided to not give me child support?
"Clients must also accept the terms with signature before submitting them to court."
I said this. I did sign. I also said why and what was said to me by Dynah above.
Don't recommend.

I met Tracey and Jon, both extremely professional. I explained to them that my ex-wife and I had reached a different custody agreement than the original almost 10 years ago. Tracey wrote it all up, filed the motions, and now I have the majority custody of my son. Tracey worked my case from day one. I started with no rights to my son and ended up with ~50/50 which is all I ever asked for. She promptly showed up to every court date (which seems to be a problem with some lawyers). She didn't back down from ridiculous demands from the opposition, she kept expectations realistic, shut down lies and false accusations, compromised when it was in my best interest. When my sons mother wouldn't allow me to see him, she got an interim hearing for custody until the case was done. I did NOT have to contact her daily/weekly or monthly bc she was actively working the case. She replied to my emails in a timely manner and contacted me directly with new updates. She never wasted my time just to get more billable hours.

I hired Mr. Johnson to respond to a motion filed by my ex-husband. Mr. Johnson accepted my retainer check but never responded to the motion. I tried to contact him on numerous occasions, but the hearing date came and went without response, and the court decided the motion against me because Mr. Johnson never filed an appearance or an answer.
Mr. Johnson finally contacted me to indicate he was going through many personal issues and begged me not to file a complaint with the ethics board that I had suggested to him I was prepared to do.
He eventually refunded my retainer fee for not filing the complaint, but I still need to find an attorney not self-absorbed with personal issues to try and undo this mess.
I'd avoid Mr. Johnson until he gets his own house in order.

Mr. Johnson represented our homeowners association in an access related lawsuit initiated by a local developer. We provided a great deal of background information - some of it going back 50 years. He quickly evaluated this abundant information, determined what was most important and effectively used it in his legal documents that were filed with the court.
Since he was working with an association, all of the meetings involved multiples leaders/participants. Mr. Johnson was accommodating of the multiple schedules involved, and we were always able to find a meeting time that would allow all interested parties to attend. In addition, during these meetings, he solicited our input on many issues. He always listened patiently in an effort to provide a better defense.
In the end, the plaintiff voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit. Not only did the case get dismissed, we were able to recoup our attorney’s fees from the plaintiff by court order. We attribute the successful outcome to Mr. Johnson's exceptional efforts and real estate knowledge.
We would not hesitate to hire him again should issues arise within our association that require legal support.

Ms. Perry made so many self promoting promises and claims that I was confident at first. After she assured shed have my case thrown out in court.She never took a call even from jail her secretary said she doesnt ( do collect calls)
Refused to meet with me even once. refused to ever take a call from my brother or my uncle or my spouse. Berated my uncle at court for calling the office so often. Didnt submit any of the evidence that my uncle and my spouse had to get themselves because she didnt have the time apparently. Never used the evidence. Didnt call the police officer that volunteered to testify on my behalf. Completely went to court with absolutely no evidence. no plan and even I thought I looked guilty after that redicuolous proceeding. It went from bad to worse. Then much to my surprise this attorney that said shed fight and fight hard for me tells me 10 min before court starts 4 months after our last meeting that I have 10 min to decide to cop a pkea or face 15 yes of PRISON. for a crime she knew I did not commit. It scarred me bad I took the plea knowing that sealed my fate I trusted her as my attorney. I did trust her and noone else did at all. Even another officer doubted her ability. well.I ended up going to prison for what she said never should have even got to court in the 1st place. I find out later her only specialty is in child custody and divorce. She advertises criminal defense.big huge difference. Then the final straw.Find out that theres a good chance she had a conflict of interest and never said a word. If your freedom and name is at risk I hope your much smarter than I was.

Anytime a black woman would go above and beyond to alienate a child from their father is disgusting. You are a professional, there are several ways you can do your job without lying and preventing children from seeing their father because the mom wants the father.
Do better. All money isn't good money and have some morals for yourself and the African American community. Some fathers are great fathers, and some are not. You are contributing to the problem. It's never about the money, money comes and goes but lying to separate a black child from their parent is a dam shame.

Unprofessional, incompetent, and a huge waste of money. This attorney never had a clue as to what was going on in regards to my case, and all my phone calls and meetings with her were spent repeating the same details to her over and over, which had already been documented and covered in paper format with her client intake questionnaire. I ended up completely compromising on basically all of the issues in our case and my ex ended up writing our divorce settlement for her in order for us to be divorced in a timely manner. Still was charged for her time in "writing it up."
The day of my final hearing, she walked up to me confused and asked if I was her client. This was after meeting me in person twice, the last one occuring less than 2 weeks before the hearing. Also, right before the final hearing started, she ran off to make copies and when the judge and clerk arrived, they were baffled by her absence and we all had to wait for her to come back. Her delay in the proceedings of course were charged for.
From a low income, single mom who is legally fully responsible for the finances of 2 children, take my word. Save your money. Hire someone competent.

Stacy has the background and understanding to handle complex cases, involving the research skills necessary to brief the court on standing to hear a case with very little legal precedent. My case has been heard once at this point and Stacy represented my interests very well. This includes overcoming several roadblocks and push-back from the court as well as the other party. This case involves both of my children, the time allowed with them, and their overall custody arrangement, so this case is as personal as it gets. I would very highly recommend her!

We hired Stacy Flanery because she came highly recommended by Adult Protective Services (APS) upon APS’s opening a case of neglect and abuse against my Mother. I cannot say enough good things about Stacy Flanery’s performance to protect my Mother. I was awarded guardianship and conservatorship, and thanks to Stacy, it stayed that way until my dear Mother’s passing, in spite of numerous legal challenges that Stacy and I were confronted with. Not only did Stacy do an amazing job as an attorney, but she did a great job navigating the family issues as well.
It was clear from the start on why Stacy came so highly recommended – she is passionate to fight for what is right, she knows the law, she follows -through on what she promises, is timely, and she is highly respected. Mr. Calabrese was my attorney during my divorce case. His focus on my child custody was critical and well received. He also added something not usually associated with lawyers - ethics (haha). While I was under probably the most stress of my life, it was awesome to have someone that was willing to point out, "It's just the right thing to do." Believe me, no love lost with my ex, but no reason to sink low.

Mr. Calabrese doesn’t return calls or emails in a timely matter. You must call repeatedly to get a response and often you get excuses for the delays (or sometimes no response for extended periods of time). A quick reply to an email letting a client know that they haven’t been forgotten and maybe schedule a time to talk with them in the near future would be helpful.
Apparently Mr. Calabrese lacks the professionalism, organizational skills and/or staff to manage his client loads.

Hired him, had plenty of proof against my landlord for discrimination & harassment. When it came down to it, he didn't use none of my proof, filed nothing on my behalf, did nothing for me. He said we were going for $200,000.00 & they offered $10,000. & he told me to settle on that because I didn't have a case????? What about all that proof I showed you?????? That YOU even were shocked at. Then he holds my money when I'm supposed to be out by April 1st & he holds my settlement money?????? Please go to a different attorney. He left OH because he was getting a bad name.

It was very hard not to take my bad experience with Mr. Kostin personally, but as I look at his reviews I think I understand it wasn't just me. Mr. Kostin was condescending and added pain to our already deep pain and suffering and he wasn't even our lawyer. We just had a consultation and he insulted me in a several unacceptable ways. He also seems to have made some calls before our meeting which seems to have biased his input in a very unhelpful way. I would not recommend.

Do not choose this lawyer. Bob talked a big game, but always had some sort of excuse for not making any moves. He often seemed lost and confused during negotiations. In the end this man cost me close to 50k in my divorce and quit as soon as he got a lien on my house. Please do yourself a favor and find a lawyer that will actually do what they say.
