I went to Stovall & Assoc, since I needed an attorney out in Pahrump for a child custody case. Upon our first meeting I was very impressed with Lisa. She took a long time to understand everything and explain all my questions. While waiting for my case to be heard in court, I emailed her updates and she responded to every email within a day. She was excellent about this. The paperwork she drafted up was well written and concise. Sadly she went on maternity leave and had to hand off the case to another lawyer who did not have much experience. The guy was very nice, and I know will be outstanding one day, but the only complaint I had was lack in keeping in touch for the case when it was handed off.

Attorney Cristina Hinds is by far one of the most impressive attorneys I've ever known. She was able to have my entire case dismissed in just two days from the date of my court appearance. I had requested a couple of continuance dates to court. They granted those to me. Unfortunately, during these continuance requests, I couldn't find an attorney who could take on my case without charging me an absurd amount of money (plus their travel expenses). It was Monday, August 19 when I started searching through my web browser and came up with a few attorneys. I asked God to help me find the right attorney. I came across with Cristina Hinds. I called her office and she took my call that evening. She decided to take my case after listening to my desperation. She emailed the court the details of my case, then spoke with the District Attorney and explained my situation. The District Attorney agreed to drop the charges and dismiss the entire case! This case was based on a traffic violation for following a commercial vehicle "too close" (according to the officer). The officer decided to give me a citation with a Criminal Charge (as misdemeanor). Bottom line, attorney Cristina Hinds fought my case successfully and did not charge an absurd amount of money. She was fair and most importantly got my case dismissed without prejudice one day prior to my court date. I highly endorse attorney Cristina Hinds to anyone who is in need of legal aid. As if my Grandmother dying wasn’t hard enough on me and my family, I then had to deal with the horrible experience of probate. I was fortunate my grandmother was adamant I use her lawyer JK Nelson for the probate. Attorney Nelson and his team were compassionate and patient as they guided us through the months long process. They were able to respond to my questions and/or concerns same day if not immediately. What was most important to me was Attorney Nelson’s stoic demeanor whenever there was a stressful situation with our probate. And there were plenty. He is my attorney for all legal issues I may have in the future and I recommend anyone needing legal help to call him!

I was referred to Mrs. Dawson by a separate party as a good fit to my child custody/ relocation case so I hired her on the spot and I’m glad I did. Not only did she win my case and got me everything I asked for, but she did it with the utmost integrity and professionalism. She is extremely punctual and organized, which is my favorite thing about her, right along with her drive. I could tell right away, she does not like to lose, so I had faith that she would fight for me as hard as she could, and she did not disappoint. She strives for greatness and her standards are high, so I wasn’t surprised at all to find that her paralegal, Ms. Mora, was just as hard working, punctual, and the perfect balance of professional and compassionate. Situations like this are never easy for the parties involved but with every email and every phone call, even if it was just a minor concern to ease my own mind, Ms. Mora never made me feel like I was an inconvenience or a hassle, never rushed me off the phone, and always made my concerns a priority, no matter how minuscule. Family Law is full of "lawyers". Finding the right one can be more then a challenge. Don't look any further then Jamie.
I had a very complicated divorce due to the other party, despite every effort on the other parties part to drag out and fight to get more than was fair at every step, the process was smooth with Jamie, and in almost every instance of the legal games the other lawyer played, things always went in my favor.
As a father/male you almost always judged the wrongdoer, and kids usually end up with mom. When I saw my kids were suffering we got one of the best children's/teen Psychiatrists in Reno to see my youngest who was having exception trouble. Jame knew who to turn to at every step to help my girls.
In my case the kids wanted to live with me, and that's just what happened.
Divorces can be very difficult or they can be nice and smooth, but in my case, what was both difficult, was also smooth with Jamie. I had very difficult divorce, yet it was an absolutely smooth process. In the end we did better then what we had initially offered at the onset of the proceedings.

Radford Smith and his partner Garima Jain are wonderful, genuinely caring people, and they provided unmatched legal counsel on my behalf as the plaintiff in my divorce. I had the additional complication and distraction of a life-threatening illness which requires a significant amount of daily care. Radford and Garima were extremely accommodating and made sure that opposing counsel was respectful of my medical challenges. Radford and Garima were deliberate in dealing with opposing counsel, without being provocative, and used their well tuned legal expertise to bring about a settlement, avoiding the expense of trial preparation and a trial. I can think of many opportunities where Radford and Garima could have taken a path that would have increased their billable hours, but instead, the path they chose prioritized what was best for me to achieve a swift and fair outcome. I estimate my costs would have been double what they were if we would have had to go to trial instead of a pre-trial settlement. Even though Radford was a distant friend of the family I still interviewed with 4 other divorce attorneys. One never showed for the appointment, another never returned my calls, and the other did not sound confident I could get what I wanted. My meeting with Radford was professional and to the point. After our in-person meeting, we were all on the same page and the bulk of the work was assigned to Garima Varshney, Esq. Garima was very professional, returned emails quickly, and pushed through the settlement hearing to get a fair outcome. My main objective was to keep my home which was paid for with medical settlement funds and she made that happen. It would have been nice not to involve lawyers but sometimes that's just not possible. So if you need a good attorney that is going to walk you through the process, this is the firm to hire.

My experience with Dawn Lozano was nothing short of a nightmare. I am compelled to share my story to help others avoid this attorney.
I initially hired Dawn during an incredibly difficult period, hoping for professional guidance and representation. Unfortunately, what I received was a series of unprofessional and unethical actions that left me not only without the support I desperately needed but also financially drained after spending $2,885 including a consultation fee she made me pay before getting any sort of advice which was reasonable because I respect others time.
I paid the agreed-upon full amount upfront, believing this was a necessary step to ensure a solid defense. However, this decision quickly proved to be a grave mistake. The attorney made only 2 court appearances on my behalf and then withdrew from the case with no clear explanation only to send a letter months later saying that the court had referred the matter back to the Public Defender’s office, but there was no further detail or clarification provided which confused me because she never told us this, and her assistant would only tell us that she would get back to us.
Despite numerous emails and messages, I received no response. I was left in the dark about the status of my case and any next steps I should take. Luckily my family found another attorney who represented me but I had to deal with months sitting in jail which I don't put that on her but if she couldn't of done anything or knew this was going to happened I would of just went with a different attorney.
In summary, my experience with Dawn was a complete disaster. She took my money, provided minimal service, and failed to follow through on her commitments. Her lack of communication and unprofessional conduct added immense stress to an already challenging situation. I strongly advise others to thoroughly research and consider alternative options before hiring this attorney to avoid similar distressing experiences because I would not want anyone else to go through this. I can care less about the money but more of so the distress I had to go through during the time. I attached photos of payments sent to her so no one thinks this is a fake review or false. I also attached the letter she sent asking for a review so here it is. Save your time and money, this lady should be ashamed of even having a law firm that operates the way she does.

I want to emphasize that this review is not from a client who was denied custody. I was awarded custody, but this outcome was not due to the diligence of this law firm. It was solely based on my decision to ask the court to speak with my child, whose preference influenced the judge's decision. Initial Consultation: Like many, I researched the best child custody lawyers due to issues with my child's mother. I felt I needed legal representation to protect my relationship with my child and prevent ongoing parental alienation. After a week of research and several consultations, I chose Leavitt Law Firm on 1/20/2023 for a consultation with Dennis Leavitt. Despite being asked to arrive early, I was made to wait over 50 minutes past my appointment time with no check-ins or apologies. This was highly unprofessional and should have been a warning sign, but I overlooked it due to my urgent situation. Engagement and Retainer: On 1/23/2023, I hired Dennis, paying an $8000 retainer in full. I was informed that although Dennis would represent me, other firm members might also work on my case, with rates ranging from $500/hr for Dennis to $150/hr for legal assistants. Case Management: On 2/1/2023, I received stamped copies of my custody complaint. By 3/7/2023, I reached out for an update, only to find out the initial paralegal was no longer with the firm. The new paralegal seemed unfamiliar with my case and asked basic questions like "Does the child live with you?"—information they should have known. On 3/8/2023, I was asked to provide a summary of my case, which I had already done. This redundancy added unnecessary costs. I then received an “Affidavit of Attempted Service” indicating my child's mother was evading service. Despite disclosing upfront that she was out of state, the firm failed to handle this efficiently, further draining my retainer. By 6/9, the firm finally got an Order for Alternative Service signed by the judge. On 7/5, after serving my child's mother via email and social media, I received a “Notice of Appearance” from opposing counsel. Throughout this process, the opposing counsel was clearly more proactive, even filing an emergency order of custody. By 7/26, I had paid $15,500 and received little progress. The firm's lack of communication and continuous errors in my documents, including misspellings of my name, made me feel unsupported and like a number rather than a client as I express to Mr. Leavitt in a later in person meeting. Hearing and Trial: On 8/14, the hearing date, Dennis did not represent me. Instead, I had a lawyer who knew nothing about my case, resulting in me being ordered to pay $5,000 in lawyer fees to the opposing counsel. My daughter lived with me, I had been providing support, and I paid for my lawyer while caring for a family of six. The substitute lawyer's lack of knowledge about my income, which includes substantial but not guaranteed commissions, led to that judgment. With the trial set for November, I had paid $15,500 to the lawfirm and $5000 lawyers fees for daughters mother bringing total to $20,500 out of pocket. The lack of support and communication from the firm led me to request a meeting with Dennis, which I was not charged. During trial prep, it was evident that neither Dennis nor the paralegal knew my case well. I had to rely on my child's testimony to ensure the judge made an informed decision. Seven days before the trial, I was billed $6,446.77 and asked to add $8,000 to my retainer. This last-minute demand, totaling $14,446.77, was reduced to $10,000 if paid promptly. This brought my total paid to $25,500. Outcome: I was granted custody because my child wanted to stay with me, but I was still ordered to pay $10,000 back child support "Negotiated down from $60K" by Mr. Leavitt, bringing my total out-of-pocket cost to $40,500 all together. Conclusion: The biggest win is my continued relationship with my daughter. However I would not recommend this firm! Take your hard earned money to someone who will remember your name as a client. Especially if you’re paying them $20k+!
