This one star review is base off of my opinion, perception and experience with the firm. I will state that legal action has been threatened if I do not take down my review on other platforms like lawyers.com and yelp. I urge the people who read this review to check the reviews on those sites as they IN MY OPINION better reflect the experiences of the firm. After cross checking the staff on the website and the reviews underneath mine, it is mostly staff from the office leaving the reviews, not clients.
I was hesitant to post about my opinion and experience with the firm because the replies in negative reviews are in my opinion passive aggressive and airing out clients “dirty laundry”. However, I will not be referring any of the clients from my business or anyone who asks me for my opinion on the firm. I will be sure to make my communication with others factual and not “slanderous” and state this is my OPINION of the firm.

I am providing this review in order to prevent others from being robbed by this incompetent Lawyer. This Law firm doesn't provide their clients any updates or personal engagement. I've had two interactions with David after I retained his services. If you are not proactive with inquiring information on your case, David will not contact you to provide any updates and to ensure your case is progressing. I took the initiative to go by his office and only once was able to speak with him and that was by luck. My recommendation is to not select this firm for any legal matters. Worst legal representative ever! Save your hard earned money.

Not a good experience. Lack of communication after initial meeting and money received. After several months of follow up and continuing to have zero progress I went to another law firm and they were shocked at how little had been done. New law firm finalized my divorce in less than 3 months with amazing communication on each step as it moved through. I would recommend another firm.

The team over at CHA were absolutely fantastic! From start to finish they made sure that everything was just so and as a result I am legally me. 😊 Not only do I not dread social situations where I may be carded anymore, or going through the airport, I'm excited about being carded (which at 40 is no small feat 😅)
Are the services offered absolutely necessary? No, you can go through this process on your own, but their fees were not exorbitant by any stretch and they were work every penny for the peace of mind alone that it was being done right and wouldn't get kicked back.

I will start off by saying our case did get resolved, but this was also an easy slam dunk case that shouldn’t have cost this much.
We were trying to terminate the biological mother’s parental rights but she was charged with murder and plead to manslaughter and had been in prison for the last 2.5 years and looking at 8 more years and had not had contact with the 5 year old child for the last 3 years.
I initially was told this could all be resolved for $5k retainer and that’s why we hired Spencer. However, at the docket call the other side wanted to proceed with jury trial which no one expected. They had to scramble to get the case together as they admitted they hadn’t really looked at the case over the last 6 months for trial on a Monday. We were told he needed another 10k to go to trial. Well they prepped for trial (mostly the paralegal) and last minute on Friday right before the trial, the mother signed over her parental rights. 3-4 days of prep and not going to trial blew through $7k of our retainer in addition to the initial $5k we gave them?? We expected something like $5k but $7k? How much more would we have had to pay if we had gone to trial which the they thought would last 2 days?? Definitely look at the prices and sign something in writing before you hire them
The mother and her lawyer stalled and duped us and our lawyer into spending all this money and time for nothing and our lawyer did not anticipate any of this.
The law firm also acted like they were very busy with other cases. They took a few days to a week and sometimes it took a second email for them to respond to anything. I would say not the worst but not the best law firm given our experience. If I could go back I think I would’ve gone with another firm honestly.

My suit was a simple modification not contested just trying to change the schedule to provide for more time with my son and holidays. Sarah tried this case in 2023 and got it dismissed. Every month I handed her my monthly income replenishing a $2000 retainer she billed to its entirety ,plus a $5,000 retainer. She got my case dismissed sadly not only had this case stayed on the docket for over a year she failed to file a response ontime with proper documentation leading to dismissal . Prior to trial she required a large lump sum for trial retainer. In the paper work it said for contested hearings they filed a response stating not enough evidence which Sarah did not give enough evidence that was given to her. She threw a fit about me not making an effort to pay and all the while a wire was in progress. She only had five years experience and it was apparent that she lacked rules of evidence, punctuality for deadlines , experience and true rules of knowledge and ethics. She got my case dismissed after all that money and time which allowed for me to go another year without holidays in my current order and a visitation schedule that damaged my son. At this point I had sold my home my cars . She offered to refile the case. I allowed her because I didn’t have the money for a new retainer at that time …. I was charged again for services already rendered, information input already in my case file. She did work with me on payment of an agreed amount of $500/ month until balance was paid. I paid every month. During mediation she was late the mediator was late as well they both were not present but 30 mins. when I didn’t agree to the terms being given and the other side was not agreeable for the very issue I was raising to court more time with my son well she told me she was thinking of dropping me. She was trying to get me to settle for only more child support and exclusive educational rights that the other party took back. I told her clarify if in fact she was dropping me and the facts. The sleepy mediator wanted another day of mediation. I told her no it was not coming to an agreement.She told me I couldn’t request an emphasis. It is my experience when there is money trouble Sarah looks for a way out and she sabotages what u need. At this point she caused some significant damage to my case as I was left without counsel we were a week from trial and she made some crucial mistakes… she agreed to a pass at a compel hearing when opposing counsel had not submitted the information she never filed a compel…she moved my case it one month out without discussing with me…which damaged my case never spoke to me about it until I brought it up. She Booked a very expensive mediator which I contacted her office to get information to and about . I was told she was out of the office and they didn’t know her schedule. She made accusations in an email that were offensive and I started looking into Sarah a little more. This mediator had horrible reviews and Sarah was making errors in my case that may not be fixed . Other clients had gone through the same. I could not afford that payment of 600 plus 500 in two weeks. In the end Sarah waited three weeks to call me back. She decided to waive all attorney fees owed after She did drop me after making a mess of my case . I was lucky enough to find two attorneys out of six willing to review all damage and help repair it if not non suit it. One had fired her early in her career. They will work with me but this was a nightmare do your research as her google reviews have been taken down. I have knowledge there are other cases that have faced the same trouble as my own and it’s sad. Harris county is corrupt and not easy. I would never choose Sarah again because I believe she hurt my case. I may have to nonsuit it and my child may suffer more.

Farah Ahmed is a very capable and efficient lawyer. I chose Ms. Ahmed to handle my divorce because her firm was highly recommended by a friend of mine.
During my first consultation she asked a lot of questions about my situation. She mentioned a few problem areas that she would have to look into, but, at the end, she gave me a good overview of how the case would proceed and how it would end up. Her overview ended up being quite accurate.
Ms. Ahmed is very thorough and organized. She stayed on top of the case throughout, making sure that the necessary documents were supplied by both sides. She does not mess around and gets straight to the point. You shouldn’t expect a lot of chit-chat from her. Nevertheless, she is very pleasant and easy to get along with.
She was able to foresee multiple pitfalls and roadblocks and was able to get around them. Ultimately, she got me to a good resolution. I don’t think that I could have hoped for better.

After a terrible experience with an attorney during my initial divorce a few years back, I needed to hire an attorney as my ex filed to amend the decree. The ex was looking for more child support as well as to implement other financial restrictions against me.
Needless to say, I was shocked to get served and knew I needed the best representation to protect myself. I was referred to Jane from someone very close to me and I am so thankful that I made the appointment.
From the start I felt comfortable and at ease as Jane examined the case brought against me. She listened intently while providing realistic and valuable feedback as to my legal rights as she explained the processes and next steps.
Throughout the case Jane demonstrated professionalism, communicated open and honestly, and fought for my rights as a father. I never once felt that she was not giving me and my case her best effort. Communication and follow-up/follow through were never an issue which I appreciate so much.
With the help of Jane we won the case by a landslide!!! Child support did not go up, it went down SIGNIFICANTLY!! I also received 50/50 custody of my kids!!! (had expanded standard).
I went into this scared, afraid, and anxious. Jane provided reassurance, guidance, and fought for me and my rights.

I am an attorney who had a pointless grievance filed against me. the problem is that it was mostly "he said, she said" about what happened. Mr. Fischer very politely and professionally cross-examined the complainant so that he got angry with the disciplinary panel and stormed off. The grievance wasrightly dismissed almost immediately. If you have a grievance filed against you, this man is an angel. I recommend him 6 out of 5 stars.

After going through a year of divorce negotiations, including 3 unsuccessful mediations, Hal was a GODSEND. Within 48 hours of retaining Hal, my divorce was settled. A friend of mine recommended Hal after my friend went through a tough divorce with joint custody. I expected a difficult joint custody battle and wanted a lawyer who was willing to fight. Hal was always very knowledgeable, direct, professional, and polite. He politely but directly let me know exactly why some of the things I wanted were inconsistent with Texas law. He also set expectations of mediation and if we had to go to court. Hal's ability to read people is even greater than his knowledge of the law. He was up front and honest about billing and everything went as we initially discussed. Hal and his team were very fair and accurate with the billing. When I contacted them they always answered my questions directly and did not keep me on the phone longer than I was willing to talk and they never contacted me unless it was necessary. When I asked Hal about opposing counsel he answered me honestly of their abilities, helping to set expectations. Due to Hal's advice, ability to read and accommodate me, the outcome was favorable to myself and child. I will use him in the future, if necessary.

Erica was extremely helpful with helping me get my divorce wrapped up and her pricing was reasonable. Do not under any circumstances hire Jon Parchman. He is worthless and a liar. He refuses to answere emails, texts, or phone calls and does nothing than the absolute bare minimum to handle your case. He completely screwed me over after paying him $8000 and refusing to talk to me or even meet with me before trial dates. He passed me off to another attorney he works with and then they both used Covid as an excuse to never leave their houses or take any mettings. Erica was a breath of fresh air and was always available within a reasonable time frame to answer any and all of my questions. I just wish I had know about her from the start and not wasted all that money on that worthless scumbag Jon Parchman who only made my situation worse.
