I hired this firm for my family custody case, and while we reached an agreement, there’s been an ongoing issue with the AOG not finalizing and releasing funds. For several weeks now, despite being a paying client, I’ve called and emailed multiple times with no response. About 3 weeks ago, Lino briefly took my call, but he gave no explanation, only asking for patience and promising it would be resolved by the end of the week. Since then, I’ve heard nothing even after making several attempts for a simple update. Every time I call, I’m told they’re unavailable, and it feels like I’m being avoided. As a paying client, it’s incredibly disheartening to be left in the dark for so long during such a vulnerable time. The lack of professionalism and communication is unacceptable. This review is literally my last resort as I have no idea how to get through to them. I’m just hoping they see this and actually reach out to me.

I cannot say enough about my divorce experience with Allison and her staff. Ashley was especially helpful through the process, staying in constant communication and keeping me up to date on details while being aware of my monthly charges and keeping them in check. As a young father, who is heavily involved with his child. Going through the legal process of fighting for custody or even for the basic standard of Texas can be confusing, frustrating and deflating for a parent. Luckily, I was talking with a friend and expressed how I wasn't satisfied with the legal representation of my current attorney. He recommended Allison! THANK GOD! She was very diligent, knowledgeable and trustworthy. If you are looking for a balanced/just legal arrangement Lockwood & Jones PLLC is there firm you need. My case was personally challenged with background complexity from a Hague Case child abduction that battle in my origin country that was battled for years. After custody was wrongfully granted to the other parent, the only step pending was to settle the Child Support in accordance to Texas Law where I resided, the complexity of the Hague Case with no established paternity in the USA and no precedent of child support required a firm that will objectively evaluate the Hague Case and have a deep understanding of the Texas Law in order for my case to be successful. Allison and Owen navigated trough all previous files in court in origin country and the state of custody to make sure that paternity & ongoing child support was properly established. The legal team was very passionate in making me understand that the outcome was heavily driven by my preparation for the questions that I had to respond. I was professionally prepared to face the process at court and the results were priceless. As a retired veteran , I would give Alex Salazar 10 stars if I could. The staff at Law Office of Steven C Benkelaw offices are the absolute best. I had made a call for a quick consult before the office almost closed. The reception was great in having Alex call me after hours. I had felt really threatened that my kids would leave on a trip and not come back. After the phone call I went to go see him for an initial consult and we discussed my case further. I had consulted other law offices for about a month and felt I needed to Go with Mr Salazar after being repeatedly harassed my spouse.
I feel he went above & beyond in the separation agreement proceedings with a mentally abusive narcissistic. Between Mr Salazar and Stacy Hernandez they made the situation the best it could possibly be. They both were always calm under pressure and Mr. Salazar was able to quickly and efficiently diffuse panic situations. They both understood and empathized for me and my situation. I truly felt I had an advocate in my corner from the moment I met them.

I would NOT recommend Enrique Alex Salazar, he charged me a $200 consultation fee to go over an issue. At the end of the consultation meeting, I told him I would like to hire him so therefore he asks me for documents he would like to see and will remove the $200 consultation fee if hired.
I’ve called him and texted him and has yet to replied. I called his office and his secretary told me that he is too busy to take my case, but I guess he wasn’t too busy to take my $200 consultation money. Even the receipt reads that it’s a refundable consultation fee

Mr.Engle took my case the night before my actual court hearing. Not only did he take my case with very little time of notice, he also fought and gave me what I asked for in my divorce and child custody case. He us such a wonderful person. I met with Mr. Engel during my free consult. I paid $100 to his firm and he informed me that he may be able to assist with getting my money returned from a debt resolution company. They kept all paperwork. I've called the office since then, on numerous occasions, and the receptionist takes a message and informs me Mr. Engel will contact me. I've still not received any type of communication from this law firm. I won't be hiring them.

She ruined me and my kids life's. She's so unprofessional. Has no idea what she is doing and is a complete train wreck. Dealing with her was a nightmare and I of course lost my kids. She seemed to be intoxicated at my court hearings. She could barely talk or stand and kept burping. Please research her name before hiring this lady. Worst mistake of my life.

I live in California. I have law suits in Houston and although i have never retained Candice that has recently become a thing of the past. I have nothing but disdain for attorneys as a general class but there are a few exception. Candice Lee Leonard is one of of the latter. I have consulted with Candace for six years and without her help... OMG! I have retained Candice to close this nightmare. While she may not be the best litigator i have ever met, quite frankly, I have enough experience with her and confidence in her to actually turn my back without worry.

Candice went beyond the call of duty in representing me in a civil matter which involved a matter that our government and especially the Courts dismiss because it is complicated, personal, and is easier to dismiss than confront the issue. The petition submitted was pure genius in its construct, it is to bad she had to deal with unethical colleagues and a week justice. Patricia Hibler "Trish" helped me gain custody of my daughter from her neglectful mother, who was a practicing family attorney herself. She represented me again after my ex tried to regain custody.
She never once "padded" her bill with meaningless expenses, and she was always there for us when we needed her. She never treated us like a client, but more like a friend. There is no other attorney I would ever go to when it comes to family law.

Several years ago I was in the process of a divorce with an attorney that was costing me a fortune and wasn’t getting any results. I hired MS. HIBLER after firing the first attorney. Within 60 days I was divorced and had received a fair settlement from my ex-wife. MS. HIBLER was the most effective attorney I have ever seen practice. Her retainer was much less than the first attorney (actually I received a refund when the case was completed. She knows the law, knows the courts and respects her client’s needs and desires. Her business is based on referrals and we (clients) refer her as often as possible.

I had the worst representation ever with this lawyer. Very painful divorce which she made worst with her bullying. I had no experience what so ever and followed her lead......worst mistake ever. She never fought for my interests and her only interest was to close the mediation process as soon as possible using a "friend" as a mediator. I lost everything because she made me sign a mediation that I had no clue it was a document basically written in stone. She made me believe things could be changed. But, the worst was the bullying...... by phone, email, in person.......She seemed to be on my side until I paid the retainer, after that, it was a painful process, more than the divorce itself.
I would never recommend her not even if my life depended on it.

No one sets out on he wedding day thinking I'm going to get a divorce someday. Sometimes the inevitable happens though and that day does happen. When I reached that day in my own life, my #1 concern was that my son was effected as little as possible and his best interest was put first.
I interviewed several attorneys before meeting Sharon Ramage. After meeting with Sharon I knew she beyond fit the bill. Her background in Social Work gives her the background to have your kids interest covered.
Our divorce was very amicable and other than a few things my ex and I agreed on all points, because of this Sharon offered to handle the entire divorce. This not only saved us thousands of dollars, but allowed us to fast track a lot of the process. Since I hired her, she couldn't give my ex advice on anything but would send & submit things for both of us.
Her office staff is just as amazing. I worked closely with McKenna & Betsy on several occasions and they were just as wonderful.

Recently hired Sharon to help me in a battle for custody of my son. My situation was complex to say the least but from the beginning she provided me with nothing but confidence, reassurance and truth. I think the best quality is her ability to express to you blunty where you too, are at fault as much as it can feel like a hard reality in the midst of a struggle it is calming and easier to approach the courtroom with your eyes open to every aspect behind it, especially in a case that is not only involving yourself but the well being of your child. I hired Amy for my custody dispute of my 3 children. I could not have picked a better lawyer to handle my case. She was very upfront and informative of how the process would be and left no questions or worries unanswered. Through the process all of my paperwork was filed very timely. She was always prompt on answering or returning my calls. She was there for me time and time again. Amy Montgomery represented me in my divorce, modification and adoption. Her professionalism was above and beyond anything I could have imagined. The divorce was very cut and dry so when I filed for a modification, I decided to hire another attorney in town. That was a mistake. I was not pleased with his performance and I went back to Amy. She took care of everything. My husband and I recently adopted a little girl and Amy handled everything beautifully. RUDE AND ARROGANT. Just as the last reviewer noted, I also am high level professional and Rita spoke down to me from the moment she began. She hung up on me after she mocked me for not knowing the answer to her question, even after offering what info I did have. I hope someone is able to follow through on a bar complaint, she is the kind of person who gives lawyers a bad name. Shame on you for speaking to those seeking aid as beneath you.

I called confused and asking for help because I don't know the first thing about getting a divorce, I explained to Ms. Rita M Boyd this was my first time and Im confused on the whole process she proceeds to ask me because I'm so confused “Am I on medication?” what a wonderful thing to ask a grieving WOMEN going through a

Why would you do paper work but not come to court with me for 1,500 ? I would NOT recommend. The “ball was dropped” too many times to count in my case. I had to hire another attorney to correct a mistake in my decree that could have cost me the only asset in the case. I paid 4 times what my ex paid and I am still undoing the damage this law firm caused.

Stay clear of this law firm!! They are liars, crooks, & thieves. I was charged well over $10,000 for Cathy to do absolutely nothing on my family law case. It was like she was representing the other party instead of me as her client. Not to mention she never showed up to court on time and she lied and told me she was at court when she really wasn’t (as I heard a phone call where she called her paralegal to see if she told me Cathy wasn’t at court yet because she had already told me she was there.) also she started that phone conversation with her paralegal in this manner “What’s up b***hes” very unprofessional! Also orders were served to the wrong address which was their rightful mistake after I gave her paralegal all the proper information she needed to ensure she could serve orders to the right person/address and it was still served to the wrong person and you guessed it, I was still charged for all this. Not to mention they are still charging for phone calls when I literally talked to her paralegal and was told Cathy would review my billing statement since this law office has done absolutely nothing for my case. Oh and get this my case was DISMISSED and how did I find out? I had to hire another attorney after I felt this law office was dropping the ball left & right and wasn’t doing what was in the best interest for me and the new hired attorney found all this out, got me my dismissal court paperwork all within 24 HOURS!! Please stay away from this crook of a lawyer and law office and incompetent staff. I pray this law office gets their karma for taking advantage of innocent folks and ripping them off with their greed of “attorney” if you all want an exceptional attorney whom will not just take your money just because they can and want someone whom will really fight for your case e-mail me, I can give you all the best attorney ever. Also once I hired this new attorney to pick up the ball where Borum law firm dropped it and it was discovered my whole case was dismissed this new attorney even REFUNDED all my money!

HIRE THIS ATTORNEY IF YOU NEED TO WIN!
I never got married with divorce in mind but it happens...and to me it happened in a very big way! My spouse immediately went for the throat after I caught the cheating, asking for money and custody claiming everything in a divorce war chest including physical abuse, mental abuse, drug abuse and other criminal activities. Needless to say I was terrified when the waterfall of legal threats began to drown me and my business. I even spent a night in jail due to false accusations.
Get ready for tough love and facts during the first meeting! This lawyer is more that qualified, is tough as nails and will give it to you strait in order to prepare you for battle. She was very prepared for my case, empathetic, always available, returned calls and I never had to question a bill.
She will skillfully negotiate with the opposition and make you feel protected when you are standing in front of the judge.
Ultimately I got more than what I needed because we were prepared. My life was put back on course and I have a great relationship with my child.
Catherine Borum is the BEST attorney you can have in a that horrible situation. Don't wait until they fire the first shot.

I made a big mistake in hiring this attorney to represent me in what should have been a simple family law matter. I could have left this review back in 2021 but I held out hope that this would be made right. I hired Mr Davis in 2021 for minor modification and enforcement of visitation.
Mr Davis asked me to drive to Austin for the consultation so I drove almost 5 hours to meet with him. At conclusion of the consultation, Mr Davis said I have a good case. Mr Davis recommended that I should go for full custody back as I had the full custody of my son raising him for 5 years after his mother abandoned the child when our son was just 14 moths old. Mr Davis requested a retainer & as I recall, I paid him $15k.
He claims he was given a retainer of only $10k, but let’s be honest - that is still a lot of money to get enforcement of an existing visitation agreement or even to go back to court for a full custody modification, isn’t it? Fast Forward to the day of the hearing. I had a witness fly in from the east coast - we had a mutual ex-wife.
My witness and I observed Mr Davis enter the court house and my witness pointed out Mr Davis in discussion with our ex-wife’s attorney. After this chat ended, Mr Davis approached me telling me to go find another lawyer. Mr Davis then departed, abandoning me right before the hearing with no prior notice that he wanted to withdraw. Mr Davis to this day has refused to tell me why he abandoned me and my case immediately preceding the hearing.
After repeated attempts to get Mr Davis to do what I paid a retainer for or at least give me an explanation for why I was left to fend for myself, I finally submitted a complaint with the State Bar of Texas & the Texas Attorney General’s office reporting my experience for them to investigate. I have also filed a lawsuit for this abandonment situation in District Court in Austin. May justice prevail.

Can't tell you how Erick is for an Attorney, but it's NOT worth the money to use him for a Mediator, I know he is supposed to be neutral, I felt it was round and and round a definitely not worth the charge, looking back I was overly stressed about time and money paying him and made decisions I should have never agreed on, but I will say, they love lunch time, people like me in a crazy situation, already being taken advantage of by a spouse don't always have a stomach for lunch when time is ticking.

I think we're all in the same pond. Jeremiah I believe has gone far and above what most attorneys would have, especially in my case. In a contentious situation most people overthink and overlook the outcome sooner rather than later. Unfortunately this was my mistake and I felt incredibly emotional and unsure (doesn't everyone?) Really there isn't much to it once you see what goes on behind the scenes. Dolores is wonderful too in that she is a great assistant to Jeremiah. She was very helpful when it was time to take my money. After that getting her on the phone was impossible. When I did speak with her she was always short and had an attitude. The paperwork she typed up was incorrect and she got an attitude with me for informing her. She didn’t even contact me to let me know my divorce was finalized. I looked it up online and contacted her. She got defensive and told me she done her job and don’t contact her anymore.

I do not recommend this law firm. I was told when I started the probate for my mother's estate that it would cost anywhere from $5K to $6K. Months later I was told by Mr. Leonard that it would be closer to $8K. Now the price ends up being almost $11K!!! I was very clear about what the estate involved upfront so I don't understand why the price was so high. I was provided a 15 page bill when I questioned the charge. They have a portal to use as a way to communicate and upload documents. There were a few times I asked questions and I had to beg for an answer (or they just ignored me). Find another attorney unless you want to pay a crazy amount of money for minimal service.

During my divorce I initially hired another company and they were dragging their feet and I felt bending over for my ex’s attorney. So I fired them and hired Mirenda. Took about two weeks and divorce finalized. Close to a year later my oldest daughter wanted to live with me, so I hired Mirenda again. It was a tough battle but Mirenda guided me through it and I got temporary custody of her. However, she decided to go back to her mom. Then my youngest wanted to live with me, so I hired Mirenda again and now I have primary over her. During every divorce there is high emotions doesn’t matter who you are. Mirenda’s team were so polite during the whole process. Mirenda will shoot straight also and call it what it is. After my first experience with previous attorneys I was terrified that I was going to be left out to dry. Mirenda and her team stood by me. They told me exactly what to do and I did it. We hired this attorney and we settled our case for an amount well over our medical bills and attorney fees. Yet 18 months later no medical bills have been paid Either. She will not communicate with us. Took 6 months just to get part of our case files for new attorney we had to hire to sue her. Refused to give us all of our case files. Was told by attorneys that are associated with her Sample & Ames our money is gone and they don’t know what happened to it. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for help or you could be in the same boat as we are.
