After so much time of trying to find justice with our children’s father, we received it today because of Tom McElyea. If I could compare Tom to anyone in court, Tom is Rocky Balboa. He is a champion, there is no doubt! Tom took a case that meant the world to me. He told me he'd have the contract/demand letter within a week. I sent him detailed letters as requested by him. He'd say "out of town" - next week when I would reach out. My family reached out to him he spoke to them an hour. We were supposed to go and meet him and he did not answer our calls. I told him often while waiting how grateful I was often as I sent detailed and painful information before he took my case as per his request before he took and I sent several following - and the seven months after while he claimed he was working on it. and the hope that he brought to what was a very serious violation I'd suffered the consequences for years with. After sending detailed, personal, hard to write (re traumatizing) but willing to tell my story finally after he accepted my case at least SEVEN months went by. I would say are you getting my message? YES. He would say. He made commitments and promises and made himself out to be someone that cared about victims. Then he told me out of the blue after waiting SEVEN hopeful, patient months, e mailing, telling me I'd have documents and contracts "next week" then it would be "next two weeks". Said he couldn't speak to my bf due to "client/attorney privilege." being patient and grateful he then said was going to charge me thousands up front after waiting and corresponding and WAITING atleast six months - when I finally said can you please tell me when you will be doing what you promised and have led me to believe for months- never stated that when he took my case nor the seven months of correspondence -and not actually follow through with what he had said he would. When I was pondering what to do when he suddenly needed thousands to do what he said he would do for seven months - which was never asked when he took my case and literally strung me a long knowing every bit of re living it was painful and personal - and I also told him I had turned down another lawyer and picked him, he waited two days and then said (after he never followed through, made false promises, never apparently read everything he'd asked for and I'd sent to him though told me he did) that he was "moving on" after just two days of thinking about it while he took eight months leading me on in literally every way I have all of the messages/txt - asking for thousands to do a hundredth of the "work" he said he was doing all along. I have been absolutely floored and it was been gut wrenching and heartbreaking. as have those around me even other lawyers. Not even a PHONE CALL in the end. I do not write reviews but in this case I have researched and it goes beyond unethical in my opinion borderline cruel. Actually cruel. . Quite a shame when he claims to stand for sexual victims. I have read his google reviews some were negative - they seem to have been removed now but I still went with him as he made me feel "heard" and that I could trust him in our initial phone call. . If you want someone who is honest and actually sincere and genuinely cares - I'd highly suggest you do not use this man. Don't walk, run. Literally if you have a loved one that has been wounded seek someone who is honest, communicates and doesn't lie, not follow through, claim to be doing what he is not - make commitments - string you a long MONTHS, allow you to re live your trauma to HIM - received your correspondence, string you a long months allow you to keep writing believing he will do what he says he will .... knows you're waiting on him, knows how painful it is - only to have been doing nothing but allowing you to wait and re live your trauma and asking for cash up front in the end for a hundredth of the work I was told he was doing all along is beyond sketchy and in my opinion and other very cruel. When I even told him calmly how deeply it affected me, zero response.

This law firm is excellent. They (Mrs. Berbarie and her assistant) assisted me with my divorce after 20 years. She is extremely knowledgeable of the law and will do everthing by legal ways to make a divorce proceedings as smooth as possible. Granted, this is one of the least enjoybale legal things any person can go through, but they were able to do this for me, in such a fashion, that was very pain free. I highly recommend Mrs. Berbarie for her assitance with my divorce and most of all, for her knowledge and compassion in dealing with a very difficult situation. I am forever grateful to her.

I felt that Lisa always was there for me and she was calm and in control which helped me a lot. She was also very experienced working with lawyers on the other side and different mediators too and that gave me confidence also. There was plenty of drama and twists and turns and Lisa kept us in control and moving forward. She also understood my priorities (kids) and focus and never lost sight of that. Lisa had strong co-workers too which made me feel like we were a team. In the end she was able to make sure the settlement was relatively fair and reasonable and she was able to get it done as efficiently as could be hoped for. Lisa is also a really good person which helped me every step of the way too. I’d definitely recommend her to a friend going through a divorce.

When I reached out to Mrs. Pierce Nichols, I was distraught, for I had done what a lot of women do. I had trusted a man to look out for me instead of looking out for myself. This law firm I still believe is a good firm to represent your case. Although, I tried to retain them most recently. My review is regarding the intake staff personnel Sarah. Sarah’s professionalism, communication, and ability to listen and assist a client is subpar. First call, I specifically asked for a particular attorney, she then suggested another attorney. Due to them moving into the Dallas office the next day, she advised to give her until the following week for someone to contact me. I was patient and in that waiting time, decided I would go with her suggestion as the Dallas attorney was more affordable, closer, and honestly had stronger credentials. Never got the follow-up call. I called and she only kept trying to redirect me. There were some back and forth and I ended up requesting for one of the Managing Partners to respond to a specific request. Guess what, she follows up without ever asking but comes back with a generic response. Keep in mind, this is after waiting another week for the MP to return. I had to wait for her to go back to ask the original request. Long story short, her mannerism doesn't display trustworthiness, but a person who appears to want to do her own thing. I still don’t believe she communicated properly to the MP. It appears that she may not have the client nor the firms' best interest in mind. In my opinion she doesn’t need to be at the forefront when she has created weeks of delay and roadblocks, and she was made aware that I was referred by a reputable friend of this firm.

I had consulted with Miss Bernier or legal advice on a divorce. My divorce was not normal by any means. I had to do with a high profile case in twined with my divorce. Because of that, it made it a very lengthy and expensive battle. Mrs. Vernier and her co-council were absolutely amazing. Everyone was willing to do everything they could to help me win my case. On a personal note, she would do everything she could to keep me saying and help me on the emotional side of the case. It was very long and drawn out, but in the end, things ended up in my favor. Vernier and all of her staff have become more like family. My sister and I engaged Jacqueline in January to represent us in a CPS investigation after my 6 year old niece was placed under a 30-day safety plan while my sister underwent alcohol detox and therapy. This was our first interaction with CPS. We used employer-provided services rather than the onerous services demanded by CPS. CPS threatened numerous times to move my niece into foster care. They also threatened a legal motion to participate in their services. They even claimed that they didn't have to talk to a legal representative. We would never have been able to navigate this process without Jacqueline, who is an expert not only in the law, but in the ways that CPS will try to manipulate and threaten. Jacqueline made the case that CPS services and involvement were not needed beyond the 30 days. My niece returned home after 30 days, and as of 3 months later, CPS has taken no further action. Jacqueline will fight for you and execute a plan with the highest probability of success. She will navigate the maze of CPS that you can’t see. We are completely satisfied and highly recommend Jacqueline.
