Ms. Jeffords, it’s been a few years since my situation (5 yrs) but I just wish I could see her and give her the biggest hug. I remember her coming to visit me… idk why I just had so much faith in her and in myself as well. Long story short, I told her I wanted her on my case and we made it happen. I got out ,and never went back. She was straight forward with me from the beginning. I never had to do anything other than stay focus and stay in faith. 5 years later, I have my life back, my career back, my children are happy &healthy. It only took about 2 years and I got a complete dismissal on ALL CHARGES 🙌🏾. I will always speak highly of her and recommend this firm every that chance I get!

I was being bullied by a lawyer who handled my divorce. He gave up on my case when my money ran out and I lost everything that was important to me (my children). He didn't want a payment plan, just money or nothing. Fast forward three years and I start receiving emails stating i still owe $3000. I kept asking for them to send me an invoice of my bill or something proving that I owed more money. I was harassed by these emails for months and they weighed heavily on me. I reached out on the next door app to get advice from any of my neighbors who had been through a similar situation. Mr. Halberg contacted me and gave me his contact info. After giving him all the details, he handled the situation in a very professional and cordial manner and I haven't heard from the bully lawyer since. Mr. Halberg charged me absolutely nothing to help me out and i am eternally grateful. He is a really good man and a really good human.

During our initial consultation and Blake Halberg's review of my divorce decree I was assured this would be no problem and very easy to accomplish my stated goals. Upon filing the appropriate paperwork with the court and communicating with opposing counsel I was advised by Blake Halberg in 04/17 that the "lump sum" type of alimony awarded to my ex-wife is non-modifiable under Georgia law. This key fact was never communicated to me at any time by Blake Halberg and I now I have absolutely nothing to show for the $6,000.00 paid to attorney Blake Halberg for his services in addition to $2200.00 more I have been billed but am refusing to pay. Upon learning of his failure to achieve my stated goals I immediately terminated attorney Blake Halberg and have retained a different attorney which has only just now been resolved in April of 2018.

I hired Jessica on behalf of my son for a custody case. My son was trying to get custody against the maternal grandmother. One would think this is a slam dunk type case for a parent to get custody but unfortunately, it's not. Jessica worked on this case for a little over a year and did a great job based on the circumstances. We had a GAL who recommended that the grandmother get custody of the child but her recommendation had nothing to do with understanding of the law. Jessica was extremely passionate about this case and I would say she was amazing in trying to overcome so many obstacles that should not have been apart of this case. I would highly recommend Jessica as a Father's Rights Attorney.

Jessica actually did me a favor by taking my case. I could have used other lawyers, but would have shorted myself.
She is honest with you about your situation, tells you what to expect, and fights for you. She protected my rights as a father, who had done nothing wrong, against someone who had been working with "big name" lawyers to paint me in a negative light and build a divorce case against me for almost a year, without my knowledge. She had multiple lawyers as opponents for my case and was on top of the application of law and facts in a manner which almost made me feel embarrassed for them.

This attorney, took $4900 from me to do nothing but cost me my sons paternity time to be thwarted by not giving me notice that I had a child custody hearing. She was unprepared in a TPO order prior and would not assert herself to a lying & vindictive wife. Today I’m having to get another attorney to clean up her mess. She dismissed herself from my case without advising me of my child custody case court date. As a result I haven’t seen my son in almost 8 months. Now I have to fork out another $2500.00 for another attorney. Thanks Joyce for a splendid job that you managed to foul up. GREAT JOB!

Joy is amazing. She always listened to me to understand what my needs were and she did a superior job executing my request. Although I just met Joy, she managed my case like she was a close family friend who sincerely had my best interest at heart. During the trial she was not thrown off by the other party's spontaneous attempts to sneak in invalid information. She even fought for me all the way to the end when the Judge was giving the decision; she recommended an alternate proposal which would benefit me and the Judge accepted. I am so glad she knew what she was doing. From the first conversation with Joy I felt confident in her ability to handle my case and from the day I hired her I never worried again about my case. Ms. White has a very difficult job. At the end of the day at least half of a party will not be happy with her because she has to make a decision about her client, your child, and decide which home is best for them. If you are not the one whom is paying her please do not choose her. I was young and very nieve. child custody cases are very sensative and triggering and she'll take full advantage of this. she'll make you comfortable with confiding in her telling your story only for the purpose of you choosing her as your Gal and will then become very bias and intentionally try to prove the points of the paying party. If you are the paying party she's absolutely great at siding with anything and everything you claim and will work over time to do so. For single mothers living in low income areas please do not pick this women. she'll bring up a case where a mother thats "less fortunate" won to make you feel comfortable tell you how finances don't play a part in the case then she will indeed use your financial state against you and even things happening In your neighborhood that has absolutely nothing to do with you. she'll offer you legal advice to make it seem like she "helping you" only to then turn against you in court. she lacks intuition and foresight greatly and will project what ever she's personally went through and her previous cases on to you. You will indeed input loosing your child while she convinces herself and the courts that that is "what's best" her opinion "what's best" boils down to who financially has more money. I had hope and faith in her hearing my story and using her intuition and skills to see what's happening and actually speak the truth the absolute total opposite happen and its saddens my heart to even have to write this. save yourself and your relationship with your child and do not choose this women if you are not paying.

I hired this law firm about 3 weeks ago. My lawyer was Ebony. I asked a few questions about my divorce and couldn’t understand George law never was the law explained to me. I paid my retainer fee. Then they started asking me if I wanted to go to trial, but wouldn’t explain why would you go to trial in a divorce? We only have one item a car to get worked out then wanted me to pay 12,500$ then wanted me to pay $2500 for an emergency hearing for my car. After asking questions one of the partners called me and told me….. they could not handle my case after reviewing emails between me and Ebony …… you need to be knowledgeable in your case ….. remember you are paying them…. Make your own decision to use them or not….. oh and lost my money …. This law firm Would not return my funds …… not great business…..

It became evident from the outset that this lawyer's primary concern was money, not the well-being of their clients. Throughout the entire process, I felt like I was just another source of income rather than a person in need of assistance.
Not only was the communication lacking, but it seemed that every decision made was based on what would bring in the most profit for the lawyer, rather than what was best for me as the client. There was a distinct lack of empathy and understanding of my situation, and it was clear that their only motivation was to maximize their fees. The young girl that runs the front desk is very sweet but extremely inexperienced. If you’re a firm representing high conflict cases , you need someone at the front just as knowledgeable and ORGANIZED.
In court, their lackluster performance was evident. It was apparent that they had not put in the effort to adequately represent me, and it felt like they were more interested in rushing through the proceedings to move on to the next paying client. Their lack of dedication and genuine interest in my case was truly disheartening.
I strongly advise anyone in need of legal assistance to steer clear of this firm. Their focus on financial gain over the well-being of their clients is unacceptable and reflects a severe lack of professional ethics.

She will take your money then have the audacity to come after you seven months later since her clientele is poor, making up fake deductions, requesting for you to pay her more. After she failed to represent you. I sat on my computer for two hours, uploading pictures of my child, and she didn’t use one. The other party provided pictures since she failed to provide all the documentation I provided I had the judge a Fulton in County viewing my Instagram story days after the hearing due to her negligence.
I honestly don’t see how she has not been sued for malpractice.
Her husband is a judge in cobb county and uses her husbands title to gain clientele. An attorney’s duty is to use such skill, prudence, and diligence as lawyers of ordinary skill and capacity commonly possess and exercise in the performance of tasks which they undertake…. An attorney is not bound to extraordinary diligence. He / She is bound to reasonable skill and diligence, and the skill has reference to the character of the business he undertakes to do.
She threw my case together the day before my hearing also told me I was gonna lose custody the day before aka “preparing me”
failed to have the knowledge of certain things she should have she willingly allow me to walk into court knowing I was going to lose custody of my child to gain some money: the loss was the result of this lawyer’s action or inaction.
I do not recommend using her as a lawyer ,if you go to search for Google reviews, nothing comes up except for this platform with only three reviews. This whole law firm is extremely narcissistic. Her assistant was extremely rude as well. They act like they’re sh*t doesn’t stink and don’t know what they’re doing.. but are quick to tell you what you want to hear to get your money. I’m convinced majority of these reviews are fake.
The binder documentation she had was a bunch of nonsense of repeat copies
She failed to use any of the documentation I provided that would help my case I should’ve represented myself

Katie K Leonard represented me when my pilot- husband abandoned our family. She is exceptional on every level. She does not waste your money, is a straight shooter, and she will fight for your rights if you have been mistreated. I frequently say that her closing arguments on my case should have been recorded to use as teaching material in law schools. Compared to my ex-husband's attorney, she hit it out of the ballpark. She was prepared, detailed, specific, and extremely tough. She didn't waste time with irrelevant questions and she clearly "knew her stuff." I was ignorant of the whole process and a total basket case when my husband left my daughter and me. She prepped me well for what would take place in the courtroom, and she tolerated my meltdowns with ease and grace during the time leading up to the court date. I cannot say enough about her and her firm. They are wonderful in every way.

Don't walk RUN from this law firm. They charge double what experienced attorneys charge and when you hire either one of them you have a 50/50 chance that they may work your case through to the end but what I experienced was incompetence, excuses, and then stepped down right before the case went to trial.

Money hungry law firm. Our initial consultation was a waste of money. We were quoted an initial deposit and escrow fee which barely lasted a couple weeks. The emails from the firm were asking for more money with very little information. The home check they said we wouldn’t need cost us $250 because the judge said otherwise. They sent my husband to a fingerprinting facility that couldn’t even do that right. They failed and their staff couldn’t even figure it out. Waste of money and time spent trying to get that sorted. They couldn’t even show up to our court date on time. The after adoption instructions were basically figure it out yourself. We of course had to pay for that lack of information. I would never recommend them to my worst enemy. Don’t waste your time or money on them. It only stresses you out and ruins the experience.

I usually do not write reviews, but in this case, it is important to make others aware. This review is based on my direct experience with Ms McGham. I contacted her office seeking legal advice regarding visitations ( the other party doesn't let me see my daughter). I paid the fees, and my appointment was scheduled for 2 pm. I arrived 5 minutes earlier, but the front desk said she was on a phone call. After 30 minutes, I was able to see her. She did not review the form before sending it to me; this form had information on my initial case and the parties (minors) involved. She listened to me and instructed me what to do ( roughly 30 min), and after doing so, I had to contact her again to let her know the outcome of her instructions, and based on that, she would tell me the best route. She couldn't tell me anything else, and there were no prices either. I contacted her 3 times via phone and left a voicemail. Also, I sent her several emails, but she never returned any of my calls or emails. Spoke with front desk and she assured me my emails been printed and they are on her desk.
She contacted me back almost 3 weeks later via email. And here is what I sincerely think (again, this is me, as a human and desperate mother who hasn't seen her kid in almost a year. If you come to a lawyer and explain what's happening, express this feeling of hopelessness and need as a mother to see her kids. Of course, I am willing to hire her services, but the first impression is a lack of communication (again, 3 weeks to give me an answer). Do you think this person takes her job seriously? If you come to a lawyer (who should be passionate about what she does) and that person doesn't respond promptly, clearly, that person doesn't want to help. Why should I hire you?

I am compelled to preface this review, as it lends high credibility to Paige Jennings. I am definitely a senior citizen. Over the last 50 years I have been married 3 times, and divorced 3 times. I have had three different divorce attorneys, Paige being my most recent. My first divorce was highly emotionally charged and contested. That attorney thought it would be great for me to take the case before a jury ( lots more money for him). Obviously, I was not very happy with his perspective. My second divorce was not contested and I got a bargain basement fee on a rough draft insisting that I retain ownership of a 1989 Ford station wagon that belonged to neither me or my wife. Paige Jennings represented me with my most current divorce. My experiences in the past confirms that she is a saint and down to earth hero. This review is based on multiple divorce experiences with attorneys. Paige is at the top of the list!
Paige Norwood Jennings can be incredibly compassionate, she understands you, but will quickly boil a situation down to the sometimes hard to take honest truth. She will give you down to earth advice and support. You feel like you have gained a good friend. She is aggressive, when she asks you to make a decision, she wants it "NOW", does not favor " LET ME THINK ABOUT IT FOR A WHILE". Her approach has a definite advantage to it. Things happen fast.
Paige works for you behind the scenes. She knows that you are much more capable of gathering and analysing the background information regarding your case than she could ever be. Her job is to use what you give her to your best advantage. And she's very good at putting it all together for a great defense.
On the routine questions, she may appear to be hard to get ahold of. But rest assured, when you really need to talk, she's there 24/7. I believed in her, she never let me down.

During my entire case I did all the foot work and I brought him countless evidence and he presented none worth my fight. He asked me for character witnesses I gave him 4 he supeona them but said know need to call on them. Bottom line I lost custody of my son not because I was unfit but because I was represented poorly. He is hard of hearing so during the trail as I was telling him of errors from my now ex husband he couldn't hear me so I had to write as fast as I could. When the ruling was passed down he didn't offer to appeal on my behalf he attached a note saying he agreed with the judge. So in the end a child I have cared for on my own for 2 years without any child support what so ever has been taken away and I now am ordered to pay child support all because of a temporary order that the child's doctor went against when the child fell ill, he never supeona the doctor. I wouldn't recommend him if you love your children because you will loose them in the end.

Jonathan Tuggle was my lawyer five years ago. At the time, unbeknownst to me, he was having an affair with his paralegal Elizabeth Rapp and was distracted. Elizabeth convinced him to drop my case, which he did and shortly thereafter I appeared in court unrepresented and lost my case and my children.
A month later I received a message from Jonathan saying he was never upset with me (and hinted that he wanted more).
I started to do some research online and found that he has had several cases against him for unprofessionalism ie. showing up late to court because of his alcoholism.

Smith and Mirshak altered documents to take my assets and personal belongs in a divorce causing me to file bankruptcy. Smith and Mirshak worked with the opposing counsel behind my back to take assets. I listed all the assets and personal belongs in the bankruptcy papers that Smith and Mirshak took but Smith and Mirshak showed up at bankruptcy court to stop my bankruptcy. It has taken five years of going to court before a judge finally omitted that Smith and Mirshak or the courts committed fraud but I had the right to appeal per the Judge.

Joan is the epitome of class and integrity. She communicated regularly and timely with us on all matters. Her job first and foremost - and one she takes extremely seriously - is to advocate what causes the least amount of stress and strain on the child/children involved in divorce and custody. I have nothing but the absolute highest praise for Joan. I came to Mirshak and Smith after receiving less than stellar representation from another lawyer. I was told up front the costs involved as well as the caveat that costs may increase based on the length of time the case took and how many court appearances could be involved. Both Tim and Joan are professional. They work in concert at times as well as solo, but always with the needs of the client in mind. Divorce and resulting custody issues are painful. They are emotional. Sometimes the attorney has to tell the client things they may not want to hear. I can attest that Joan and Tim were always direct and honest with me. My process of retaining custody of my child began nearly twelve years ago after a contentious divorce. Joan and Tim took my case over ten years ago and continued to represent me up until the last action one year ago. Joan in particular is adept at avoiding court when possible and making both parties comfortable with the outcomes. Is Joan expensive? Yes. Was she worth every single penny? YES.

She was never dressed professionally, did not keep in contact, and I had to ask her to send the remainder of my funds instead of them automatically being forwarded to me. I paid a huge amount of fees for calls and emails. I never ended up going to family court and Irene Serlis took 80% of my retainer. Overall unprofessional, I do not recommend.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this attorney. Despite promising to have my contract ready within 48 hours, she failed to deliver. Personal circumstances aside, she should not have taken on my case if she couldn't handle it. I feel scammed out of my money.
Communication was another major issue—she rarely answered calls and frequently promised to "look into the matter and call back," but those follow-ups never materialized. Despite assuring me of a refund, I never received one.
I strongly urge caution when considering her for any legal services, free consultations, or professional hire. If you've had a similar experience, consider reporting the issue to the State Bar to seek proper resolution.
On a side note, I hate reporting a negative review on a Spellman grad, but professionalism and honesty trump everything. She should be removed from her oath of helping people.
