I don't have the words to accurately describe my feelings about Harrison Law Offices. From the moment that I first reached out to them, I knew that I was in great hands. The office was always professional, responsive, and courteous.
When I initially called to ask a couple of legal questions, I had no idea that my questions would turn into a case but when it did, I didn't hesitate to reach out to Jim, who advised and guided me through the entire process. I recall a few of the words that he told me that day. "I'm on the team," he said.
Funny to say that throughout a six month ordeal, we only ever met face to face once because of the pandemic. I'm sure their normally challenging job was even more so because of the difficulties associated with the lockdowns and Covid-19 gathering rules. Every challenge was met and I am so pleased to report a positive result. I have no doubt that this would not have been possible without the efforts of Jim and his team and will be forever grateful.
Jim demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the law surrounding my case from day one and, where the legal precedent was lacking (as it was in my particular situation), he had the ability and knowhow to do the research to find applicable case law in other states and apply it to my situation. It was this effort, in my opinion, that led directly to a win for my side in defense of a post-employment restrictive covenant case against me.
I could not recommend them more strongly and I don't offer that type of praise often. I would not hesitate to hire Jim again and would call him for just about any legal question that I can imagine.

Attorney Jim Harrison showed his intelligence, his commitment to helping us, and his understanding of the issues from day one, and I was also impressed with the his grasp of the practical implications of the situation and the limits on what was feasible. You messed up but relief is nearby. You want an expert who will also listen to you, explain the situation and your options and put you in the best situation for a positive outcome. Martin is your guy. After you hire him when you are going through waves of freaking out you can come to Avvo and re-read the 100+ positive comments (I've read them all for comfort 8 times by now) and know you've done all you can to help your situation.
I put myself in a tough situation. I went out for a few drinks, nothing egregious but when I was leaving a parking lot I goosed it around a corner and squeeled my tires. I was pulled over and declined to talk the the officers about where I was that evening or participate in any sobriety tests. The prosecutors for DUI trials in Lake county are farmed out to a private firm and the state's firm sent their #1 top guy. Martin got us a Not Guilty on DUI and Reckless driving, and a modest fine and court supervision for squealing tires. Martin went head-to-head with the state's top dui prosecutor and left him noticeably pissed while we walked out with a huge W.
You'll be comforted by his understanding of Lake county courts and procedures. He will listen to you. We worked together to craft a defense and no point anything that I thought important was left unconsidered.
Even though my case hit a complication and dragged on a bit his flat rate fees were clear fair. Quite honestly they were about 75% of what I expected and was willing to pay for a proven winner.
He's super busy but will always make time for you. Most importantly, he's a genuinely good guy.
There's a reason for Martin's top rating. Do yourself a favor and pick the best. Get the free consult and make your own choice. It's hard to put a price in peace of mind. If you've read this, you've been informed. Unless you have another proven rockstar at your disposal to consider I strongly advise you to go with Martin.

Steer clear of this firm, especially if you are a healthcare provider. Refused to answer or return calls for years. Yeah years! Assistant takes the call and you never get called back. I see we are not the only ones who they ghosted when it was time to be paid.
Finally got Kurt on the phone about a claim that was now 5 years old without payment. He decided that calling "us" the healthcare provider, ambulance chasers and telling us to sue him for the money owed was the right way to go.

After my dad passed away in April 2024, my mom and I filed for Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) through the VA. Despite working with a VA liaison and following up for 10 months, we received no real updates—just that the claim was still pending. Then, my mom received a notice from the VA, which she mistakenly believed was a denial of the DIC claim. Unfortunately, even the local VA liaison misinterpreted it, causing a lot of confusion. Given that my dad’s passing was clearly linked to his disability, we realized we needed legal representation and turned to James Comerford.
From our first conversation, James took the time to listen, understand our situation, and guide us through the process. Initially, we thought we needed to file a rebuttal, but after investigating, he discovered the VA had actually misinformed us—the claim was still being processed. My husband got into a bit of a pickle and we randomly found Maureen on google searches. We had a consultation call with her and she was up front and honest about her ethics, her pricing and if she thought we had a good case or not. She listened to my husband and then she listened to me and what I had to say. It’s literally been like this the entire transaction between us! She’s compassionate, and caring and will give you options but wants to do what YOU want. She showed and up was a bulldog in court when we thought things were going to go south. She fought for justice and what was fair after waiting over six months for a simple video to be sent over, which still hasn’t been done! She brought to light my husband had to forfeit his right on a speedy trial for the lack of evidence that was produced. Under the circumstances, he stopped and listened. The full case was a bit much. He looked into the person and the case. He did battle with the legal system for the person not the crime. He looked into the persons past and set them up for the best future based on what the person showed him. I was amazed at his approach to the situation. He looked for facts that most people overlook. When we were looking for a lawyer to represent us against a copyright troll in CA, I was at first hesitant to contact Billy as he was in Chicago. So I called a few others first and Billy last. Billy was by far the most reasonable and knowledgeable about the industry. He did a superb job at getting a settlement that we could live with. He spent quite a bit of time going back and forth with the troll and us. I believe he does this work out of principle as he surely spent far more time than the fee we paid him.
When we called Billy, we were feeling afraid, tense, and extremely nervous. Within minutes, Billy made us feel secure and relaxed because we knew he would be protecting us from that point on. I was extremely fortunate to have found Ben Kailin and Firm Equity after being named in a Malibu Media Lawsuit. After contacting a few other law firms, I felt Ben seemed to really understand how to deal with Malibu Media. He took on my case and was able to negotiate a settlement I could live with. The initial offer from the plaintiff was way more than I could afford to pay. It took him several weeks of back and forth negotiating before he was able to bring the settlement amount down to an acceptable level. I’m not sure the modest fee he charged even covered the time he spent on my case. He is truly the friendliest yet fiercest lawyer around. I am not quite sure where to begin...I had originally hired a previous lawyer to represent me for my divorce (which started in 2019). The previous lawyer did not seem to be doing much work on my case nor did did I feel heard when I explained my case to them. I ended up asking them to withdraw as my lawyer after about 8 months because I knew they weren't going to fight for me.
I then started the process of finding a new lawyer and quite a few lawyers were not even willing to take my case because litigation had already started.
I felt very lost, but then I got referred to Linda Watson from 3 different people. I had my phone consult with her (at this point covid was in full swing) and I knew this woman was going to fight for me.
Let me make this clear, you're money will not go to waste at Watson Law! You will see the work for what you pay for! Linda and her team will go above and beyond for you! Make sure you communicate with them and tell them everything!
Linda is such a good hearted person. She doesn't sugarcoat things and is very real and upfront with you!

I was charged/framed for a serious crime, my family and I were at a loss as to how we would find a good lawyer. Everyone thought that I would go to prison. My family found Joshua B. Kutnick, and they hired him. Frankly, I was not certain that he would be able to win my case, yet I waited for the results. Prior to the trial date, he invested/worked as though he was a brother or father to me, within this cruel world I realized that humility still lives. On the day of trial, my nerves were wrecked. He went in and WOW! my case was dismissed, with no penalties. I was speechless, as was everyone else with the results. That was all due to the hard work and prowess of Joshua Kutnick, this honorable man has 18 years of experience under his belt. I normally don’t write lengthy reviews, however, I know that nobody’s absolutely perfect, everyone faces is accused once, if you’re charged, the most beneficial things you could have would be this lawyer. Thus, use him to your benefit. Do not assign a lawyer with a lack of background/experience who will only feed you empty promises, to get hold of your money, which will result in a bad outcome.
