After having had switch lawyers due to my ex attorney sitting on my case for nearly 7 months doing absolutely nothing,I was at a standstill with a bad taste left over. I hired Dennis more than 1 occasion and am very thankful and blessed to have had him on my side. I’ve had 4 trips to prison and was looking at 25- life my 3rd and 4th time going back. I am a Testimony. I grew up in the streets of Houston and was brought up in the gang life and hustlin culture. Everyone thought I was a lost cause and had given up… but not God! I didn’t expect to get a dismissal. Being honest, I knew what I deserved, but I just wanted Mercy and wanted to change… even though I didn’t know how. Instead of receiving a 25- life sentence, I ended up doing 5 years this time. Which is also my last. I been out now going on 2 years. When I came home I worked 2 jobs, and went to school for my CDL license and also got my tankers endorsement. Now I been driving 18 wheelers and working at the same company over a year. Going through the judicial system is like flipping a coin in the air and hoping for the best…It’s not always fair! From false charges to financial burdens ;you HAVE to have the right people in the right places. And that’s what you get when working with Carl and his team. My son fought multiple felony cases for 3 years consecutively, facing up to 99 years in prison, and not once did Carl and his team ever stop working. All in all my son spent a week in jail for all cases with no probation. While I don’t want to diminish the hard work my son has put in, without Carl he’d be a SPN # waiting for him commissary for the next 99 years! We are so grateful for what Carl has given us. I Will say this. This attorney is very professional and knowledgeable in his work. I won’t go into detail of the case however I will explain in short how Mr.Simmons handled the case. First I want to state that I could not afford to hire him. He worked with me and accepted payments…being low income this really helped me out and I’ve since payed about half of the agreed upon amount; the case(s) are already over with. I will make sure he gets every last penny he earned. I digress, anywho, I hired him for two separate charges…both being the same. And my bond got revoked. Regardless I boned out again, before the week was finished my case was over with. I sighed. Before I hired Mr.Simmons I was fighting the case to no avail with the court appointed attorney and I was basically being rest for about a year and a half….thats when I caught the second charge. Again….I layered up, and he got one of the charges dropped. I would recommend him to anyone in need of an attorney. 10/10 stars if I was able to give them.

I have been through horrible domestic violence situation where HPD did not stand up for me or help me I had not drank any alcohol in years and I believe I was in a spot where I felt no one was helping me with the domestic violence and I turned back to alcohol and a bad situation. I was arrested for manufacturing a dangerous drug MDMA greater than 400 grams. It was 4 probes one for the MDMA and one for the money laundering all over the world 130 people were arrested in

From our very first initial meeting ( which was also during the COVID pandemic) I explained to him details of what happened when I was wrongly accused for something and charged for injury to an elderly. I told him I had all my documentation and sent it straight over to his office from that he told me exactly what he was going to do without having to go any further into prolonging the case. As anybody with any sense would do, I hired an attorney. And over the stretch of a year, it seemed as if no matter what I did, was going to have the charge. The best deal my attorney could pull for me was four years of Probation and a hefty fine. I was devastated. But taking some time on the matter, I began to realize maybe there was a possibility for a better outcome!
So, I fired the attorney I had and following some recommendations, I hired Shelby Burns. Unbeknownst to me at the time, this would turn out to be the best decision I could have made.
I will never forget the day he called me and told me that he was able to plea the case down to a misdemeanor with NO probation, NO jail time, and NO fine (only the inevitable court fines but they were minimal).
If I was still young enough to do so, I swear I would have been doing backflips I was so excited. It was so good that I was almost in disbelief that it was even true and that he wouldn't trying to pull some sick prank on me. But it was real! I was going to be able to continue on in my life the way I had prior to the charge. It had been so long since the occurrence is well, that everything I was having to do had almost become a way of life to me. I have my freedom, my career, and no felony on my record! I would refer this attorney to anyone. He saved my life! I would have lost everything that I had worked for.
