Unfortunately my Mother passed away without having a Will or any of her Estate affairs in order. Prior to my mothers passing I had never handled an Estate before. I contacted a few attorneys but didn't feel they were the right fit for all of the complications pertaining to the Estate. Some attorney's weren't even willing to take it on. A neighbor of mine (who is an attorney) suggested that I contact Mr. Andre McDonald to handle my Mothers Estate. After our initial phone consultation, I knew immediately that he was the the right fit for all that needed to be accomplished. It was around the holidays. Mr. McDonald went above and beyond the typical duties that involve getting an Estate opened. He stayed involved and was on top of every aspect regarding the Estate throughout the entire process. He followed through with getting the Estate closed in a timely fashion. Mr. McDonald was very professional and knew exactly what to do and how to handle the Estate. He was always informative and reliable. Mr. McDonald always personally returned my phone calls and my emails in a timely manner. His staff was very pleasant and a joy to work with during a very hard time in my life. He kept me up to date on anything that needed to be done. Margaret is like MJ G.O.A.T!!! I’m not just saying that because she got my charges dropped I’m saying that because when your backed in the corner she comes up with things that will make you say WHAT!!! I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was charged and held "without bail" along with 5 others. And though the charges were "trumped-up"...I thought I would never be with my family again nor see the light of day!
Retaining Margaret Mead was the best decision I could have made at this precarious time. Margaret Mead rescued me and represented me for my Bail Review. Though the State tried to paint the worst picture of me and recommend I still be held without bail, Margaret Mead had me released in hours. The others charged were not so fortunate.

I was driving with no insurance, than I hit someone. I had some jail time charges. I missed my court date. Mr. Scott handle everything. He got the jail time charges remove. We hired Mr. Sharifi to help with a young family member's probation violation. I was actually referred by a friend of a friend in the legal system. I am so glad I took that reference because what was supposed to be a cut and dry case ended up taking two hearings, convincing a judge to take on a different perspective, a lot of phone calls, emails, and coordination with several family members and private individuals.

John has been excellent in handling my case from start to finish. Although my case is so ongoing and probably will be dragged out for quite a while, I felt the need to write this review anyway. I hired Josh a couple weeks ago to represent me in what is a VERY sticky, messy case. Within an HOUR of retaining him, much to my surprise, he had entered himself as my attorney and filed a bunch of motions on my behalf! So to say he is quick, professional and on top of things is an understatement. He is in constant contact with me, answering my (many) questions as they present & makes me feel at ease as I am a very hurt, ball of nerves. April 2017. After I filed for custody of my child I was charged with domestic violence. I was also charged with a protective order in an attempt to keep me from contacting my ex and our daughter for 2 years.
I was completely devastated, not only because I am a man fighting for custody and there are so many rumors that the family law court is biased against men, also because I had lost my freedom and the most precious thing in my life, my daughter, because of false allegations.
I hired Josh Ortega the morning after I got out of jail. He had 1 night to prepare for the protective order hearing. The protective order against me was denied.
Josh Ortega then represented me for the domestic violence/assault charges that were filed against me. For all 7 charges I was found either Not Guilty or dismissed.
Finally, after 14 months I had court for my child custody case. End result, we got a great outcome. I say "we" because Josh has been with me every step of the way. I believe he really cares about my daughter and winning my case.
There have been many phone calls and emails that Josh didn't even charge me for. This case worked out exactly how I needed it to and now my daughters mother has calmed down a lot.
I would say one of Mr. Ortega's biggest strengths is performance in the court room. Has ability to be passive and to be aggressive in court. Quick thinking. Wants to win.
I was very passionate about winning my case and Josh was the best attorney I could have asked for.

Once Mr MacFee, accepted my case and agreed on a retainer he went straight to work. I will say my case was a long and hard, almost 3 years long one. And even as long as it was and complex, he never went up on cost.
Mr. MacFee is a nice person but at the same time he is a beast in a court room. He kept me informed the whole way. And he told me what was going to happen at each turn.
If I ever need a lawyer or was able to refer someone it would be Bradley..

On May 3, 2017 I called Brad MacFee and asked him to go and see my fiance, who at the time was incarcerated and awaiting trial on a 1st degree murder charge. Needless to say, the fact that he was facing such a serious charge and was incarcerated and away from us was causing a significant amount of stress to the family. Within a few days Brad went out and interviewed my fiance. He throughly reviewed the case using the information he had available to him at the time, which was essentially the police report and the information provided to him by his client. After the visit Brad called me, discussed with me what he had discussed during the visit and told me how much it would cost for him to handle the case. Under the circumstances I thought the fee was more than reasonable and I retained Brad to begin representation. According to the information Brad obtained, there were 2 people that claimed to be eyewitnesses to the murder. With that, Brad focused on locating those people and investigating their version of event and their credibility. In the weeks leading up to the trial, it became clear that one of the witnesses was missing and would not be found. That left a single remaining eyewitness on whom the state would have to rely to obtain a conviction. Brad located this person and met with him and his family, interviewing all of them thoroughly. As it turned out, this witness, who had previously identified my fiance in a photo lineup, claimed that he had been coerced into making that identification. He also denied even seeing the crime, but claimed that he had been arrested on a drug charge, and had been told by the police that if he cooperated with them and made the necessary identification, there would be no charges filed against him related to the drug case. On the morning trial was set to begin, the eyewitness signed an affidavit swearing to the information he had previously provided. Naturally, this fact created a major problem for the state, whose sole eyewitness had now claimed under oath that his entire involvement in the case was a sham. I assume this fact ultimately payed into the decision of the state to dismiss the charges against my fiance, thereby eliminating even the possibility that he could be convicted in this case. At the en of the day, the point is that not just anyone is capable of handling a case this serious. You need a lawyer that is willing to get out into the street and get his hands dirty in an effort to obtain every possible advantage for his client. In Baltimore City, where the murder rate is at an all-time high, prosecutors are under tremendous pressure to bring these cases to trial and win convictions. They simply do not drop these cases like they were speeding tickets. It was only because Brad was willing to go out and do what needed to be done that the state reluctantly made the decision to dismiss the charges. That said, I am very, very glad we made the decision to bring Brad MacFee in to handle this case for us, and if you ever find yourself in a similar position, I would strongly encourage you to at east talk with him before making the critical decision regarding who will represent you or your loved one.

My fiance was attacked with a knife and he did what he had to. The guy that attacked him ended up badly injured and the police arrested by fiance. He was charged with Attempted first degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault, and assault with a deadly weapon. I immediately began searching for a lawyer that could help us. I met with numerous lawyers and spoke to many over the phone. I was referred to Bradley Macfee from a family member. At this point I was honestly so stressed over this because I couldn’t find a lawyer that was a good fit. I met with a lot of good lawyers, but I didn’t feel like they would really fight for us. I didn’t want empty promises about the outcome because that would be a lie. I wanted someone that would be ruthless and fight. I found exactly what I was searching for in Brad. He was very straight up with me and he was very down to earth. He immediately began working to try to get my fiance out of jail. Over the time that he was in jail, he went to see him numerous times. He was denied bail, so Bradley put in for a Habeas Corpus motion to get him a bail review. Due to the fact that he was on probation, we had to go in front of the judge that gave him probation. When the hearing finally came up, Brad ended up speaking with the judge prior to the start of the hearing where she told him that she was in no way going to give him a bail and that she’ll hear him out, but he isn’t going anywhere. So, since we couldn’t get a bail, we began working on the case. He was very attentive to any questions or concerns that I had. He made various efforts to talk with witnesses. He called them and even went to a bar he knew that they would be at and was there until around midnight. From very early on in this process, he was talking to the prosecutor to try to influence her to drop the case. He spoke with the prosecutor and she explained to Brad that she was unsure of what she was going to with the case. She asked him to give her two weeks and to then give her a call back. I honestly was thinking he was going to get a decent amount of jail time for this charge because of the severity of it. I met with another lawyer that told me, he was probably going to get ten years in jail. I will never ever forget October 11, 2016. I was at physical therapy and I got a call from Brad, a day earlier than he was supposed to be talking to the prosecutor. Brad said, “Are you sitting down” and I said yes. He explained to me that the prosecutor was dropping the charges completely. I immediately broke down in tears. I was uncontrollably crying and I can’t never even explain the feeling of relief and thankfulness that I felt that day. Brad then moved up the violation of probation hearing and he was able to come home the day of the hearing. I will never be able to repay Brad for what he has done for me and my family. I would recommend everyone to him. We are now currently using Brad for a child custody case.

A family member recently received two underage drinking citations within a few month period. The close proximity of the charges threatened to leave a permanent record that could be a burden to the client's reputation and advancement for years. In this somewhat unusual case, Bill Henry proposed a creative solution to the Court that was accepted and ultimately resulted in the complete dismissal and expungement of all charges. I have worked with mr Henry twice on two different cases. The first was my fathers estate
It was a very sticky mess and required knowledge of all different aspects with properties under water and extreme debt. However mr Henry handled the estate well and everything worked out so well. Dilip Paliath took my grandson case in the Fall of 2015. Mr. Paliath had to drive three hours to attend the court session beginning at 9:00 am. My grandson met with Mr. Paliath before court began. Mr. Paliath ask personal questions and discussed different roles of court persons. My grandson did not understand the concepts of court and Mr. Paliath expressed this concern to the judge. It was determined by the judge that my grandson needed training about court. Mr. Paliath had to return during the winter twice and the case was not settled until June 2016. Larry was amazing. I was visiting Calvert county for a family members wedding. After the wedding on my drive back to the hotel. I was pulled over for crossing the center divider line beaten. The police officer had me conduct a sobriety test. During the sobriety test two other officers arrived and almost immediately started to get physical with me.
