This is a bummer because, as you’ll see, I have not left a negative review in the 15 years of having my account:
I recently worked with Andrew to obtain advice on a silent partnership contract that was very bare bones (a couple hundred words in length).
I was surprised to see that I was charged $438 for Andrew to read this incredibly small document and provide maybe 100 words of feedback. (Will update with screen shots once I have redacted the info)
I ended up going with another lawyer who was able to provide a couple of rounds of feedback on this document for about the same price and sharing me he felt I overpaid greatly for the services provided.
To be fair, Andrew was thorough and fast, which is why it’s an anomaly this did not extend to his charges and the time he stated required almost 2 hours of billing.
I hate to leave a review like this but I communicated this information to Andrew asking to split the difference which would have him still making $250 for the single volley of feedback but he was unwilling to work with me.

I hired Robb after having 2 prior attorneys for a highly contested custody matter. Robb took my case on a fairly short notice and immediately got to work. My case had several layers that had to be peeled back and was complex to say the least. Robb was able to get up to speed very quickly on the facts of the case as well as my concerns surrounding the matter. Robb was always prepared for any motions that had to be heard as well as during the trial which was a seven day trial. He truly wants the best outcome for his client and he shows that through his attention to detail and open communication. Robb has a good presence in he court room and commands respect during cross examination. Robb has a good grasp on processes, and uses great emotional intelligence. I will hire Robb again for any legal matter that fall under his areas of representation.

I am beyond glad that I went with Sherwood!! I am from out of state (I actually move constantly & was heading to ND after Nashville) and my situation was a massive misunderstanding that, of course, came with a hefty charge. I had to find new legal counsel after my first lawyer's lack of experience became painfully obvious the first time in front of the judge. In my search for a new lawyer, Lewis Williams came highly recommended, and he made an immediate impact.
My (now) ex-wife’s lawyer was loud, rude, aggressive, and willing to present half-truths and outright lies in the courtroom. (My previous lawyer didn’t stand up to her, but just wilted.) After I hired Lewis, she became much more civil and showed him immediate respect. (He told me he had beaten her in the courtroom before, so that was a good sign.)
My ex-wife worked very little during our 18-year marriage, had an affair, and faked a brain injury in her attempt to gain disability benefits. I had copious amounts of evidence for all this. Unfortunately, Tennessee state law apparently cares little about morality and ethics and mostly looks at income vs. need. Thus, I was vulnerable to paying extensive alimony due to my income and the length of our marriage. Lewis encouraged me to settle, even though he told me he would make up to $30,000 in more legal fees if we went to court. I was amazed at his honesty and integrity.
On a side note, he is very prompt at returning emails and works through weekends, holidays, and even when he’s sick! There were times when I thought, “He needs to rest.”

I can’t say enough about how awesome Brent Horst is. After the very first meeting I felt a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders and I knew that everything was going to be alright. I switched from another attorney who was basically telling me that an indictment was inevitable and to just prepare for it. The quote above is one I wish had come to mind before retaining the first attorney in my criminal case. It is never a good decision to make a decision from anxiety and fear of unfamiliar circumstances.
What prepares a person without a criminal record to take the next step in the judicial process after bonding out of jail? Nothing.
Living an honest life for 60 years means little when falsely accused of domestic violence. Watching as mandatory arrest and no-drop prosecution policies implemented to protect victims of domestic abuse were skillfully exploited and manipulated by the mother of my son's young child was staggering.
The hurried decision after being released from the mandatory Metro Jail 12-hour hold to pay legal retainer fee was a novice's mistake. Choosing from a list of private counsel found in the reception area of the Public Defender's Office without researching experience and case results almost jeopardized my rights and freedom. Unlike my accuser, there was no army of advocates waiting to guide me through the process.
Thankfully, I was able to find Mr. Horst's website in my online search for highly-rated experienced criminal trial attorneys. After watching Mr. Horst's video “My Client My Fight”, I knew he was the person for my defense.
The most repeated characteristics of successful criminal defense attorneys mentioned in articles I read online were:
Credibility, Communication Skills, Knowledge, Confidence, Civility, Personal Involvement and Courtroom Demeanor and my addition to the list - Backbone. Mr. Horst possesses them all in spades.
From the beginning, my decision to have the case bound over to Criminal Court was non-negotiable. Many people said to me, "Why not just accept the General Sessions hallway offer of judicial diversion, conviction, 16 week offender program and no jail time just to be done with the stress?"
Mr. Horst said me, "Why?"
Words cannot describe the feeling of waking up the morning after my case was retired. For the first time in almost a year the anxiety and thoughts of an emotional trial were gone.
I am very grateful for Mr. Horst's endless patience, understanding and guidance during the judicial process.
Hopefully, I will not need a criminal trial defense attorney in the future. I would, however, without hesitation, recommend Mr. Horst to anyone facing charges in criminal court.

I filed for SSD after being medically retired from the military in 2016. I kept getting denied finally called Mr Felts and he helped me prepare for my hearing. He was very thorough. If he asked you to do something, write something do it. My hearing didn’t last long because of everything he sent the judge ahead of time my decision was decided at the hearing and I received a fully favorable decision. As a 58-year old man, I thought I had experienced most everything. A marriage, children, divorce, a new marriage, unemployment then under-employment. So being pulled over that night in downtown Nashville for having too many drinks wasn't what I needed -- nor my family and new job. And it was my *second* offense. I had heard about Ryan Caldwell from some friends at my former job who required his services; two for drunk driving and another for possession of an illegal substance. After a quick and easy consult with Ryan over the phone, I was confident that he was for me. And when we met in person at court, I knew it I chose correctly!. First, as ashamed as I was, he spoke to me like a friend without judging me or my circumstances. I hired Mr. Craft to represent me in a lemon law case against BRP AKA CanAm. I hired an ambulance chaser type attorney before I hired Mr. Craft and let me just say that it has been the wisest choice I have made yet.
