My troubles started 4 years ago when a detective from Marshal county set me up and proceeded to charge me with a felony that I didn't do. At the time I had no record or knowledge of the law. I just wanted things behind me. I hired a lawyer who was part of the Marshall county cartel and he just went along with everything they said. Long story short I now have a target on me because I bought a farm that Tony Nichols wanted. That man was trying to take advantage of me being ignorant to the law. Last I heard they were getting me on several felonies and sending me to prison for 10+ years. I then got in contact with Ross and he had different plans so I was able to walk out of the hell hole that is Marshall county court house a free man. Ross is so personable and knowledgeable, it gives him the advantage over any other lawyer. If you've been hung out to dry and see no way out from the corruption that we call small town Tennessee politics, do yourself a favor and get Ross Brazil on your side.
P.S. the DA in Marshall County is corrupt as all get out. They all are down there and need to be stopped.

Probably the worst experience I have had to date with anyone providing services. I got to the point of signing a contract to procure Susan’s services to take care of a pressing issue. After the contract was sign I truly believe the law firm and her paralegal, Lori Casteel, blinked out of existence because why else would I have to text, call and leave messages to PAY. I received no contact or updates whatsoever after I signed the contract. After two weeks, I was finally able to reach Susan. She said due to the holidays, everyone was ‘out of pocket’. Ok fair, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, even though at this point it was January 15th. When speaking with Susan she assured me that we could move forward. I asked to receive an invoice and then, you might have guessed it, nothing. I’ve never been ghosted by a lawyer before. I really just had an issue that needed handled and reached out to Susan because of the good reviews. I understand life happens, but that should be communicated, especially when building a client/lawyer relationship.

Chelsea fought 2 cases for me. The 1st one, she had very little time to review my case and still kicked butt in the courtroom (and won). During the 2nd one, however, her attitude changed drastically. She was extremely rude, couldn't be bothered, was always annoyed with me, and constantly put my case on the back burner. She yelled at me on multiple occasions, then blamed it on "being stressed." She pushed my court date back multiple times; once being the week before a holiday..... just so that she could leave early. Furthermore, she messed up my birthday on the paperwork, the college I graduated from (in an email she sent to the District Attorney; she had my transcript AND diploma right in front of her), and referred to me (in a letter) as a male (I am NOT transgender and I identify solely as a female). Oh yeah.... and she is ALWAYS late to court. Also, be prepared to get scolded at for trying to contact her outside business hours. Heaven forbid you work the same hours she does and can't always contact her when it's most convenient for her. On top of that, she expects you to answer her calls immediately, even if you're working, in the hospital, driving, etc., etc., etc. However, she doesn't have to do the same. The world is supposed to revolve around her, so do not email, call, or text her outside her normal business hours or she will get extremely aggravated.
She also gave me an ultimatum: Take reviews down or she will not represent me. She gave me "x" amount of time to decide whether or not I still wanted her to represent me. However, she didn't even wait that long and withdrew herself, which was not what said in the formal letter she sent me. (By the way, I had taken down the 2 reviews [per her request].)
Choose her if you want, but be prepared to be mistreated and having to walk on eggshells.

Carrie Searcy is a great Lawyer. I had a disgrutled ex-finances put false domestic violence charges on me and I had never had any criminal charges on me ever. Carrie Searcy representation of me and my character got my false charges dropped. Even when we were at trial se caught my ex-fiance in a lie in the trial seat that further provided my innocence. Carrie was very professional, patience, keep me informed on my case and showed humility and kindness as she saw that I was visiblibly upset with the false charges. She also got my record expunged. Ms. Rubenfeld and her team helped me through my divorce 5 years ago. I was very young with a newborn while trying to navigate a divorce due to my husband's infidelity. Abby met with me whenever I needed, emailed with me as long as I needed to, and returned my calls when I needed. She provided the best possible advice, and she fought for me even when I was ready to give up and give in. Even when I simply needed to vent, she always seemed to listen. When we would go to mediation and she would see my frustration, she would fight harder for me. When we would go to court and she would see my fear, she would reassure me. This is by far the worst experience I’ve had dealing with any “professional”. I was a paralegal for years and worked with and dealt with plenty of attorneys. None were like this! I spoke with Amanda only one time briefly before the trial and she was in the middle of a big case so she wasn’t as attentive. I emailed her before my trial to see is she needed anything from me or needed to meet. She said no (This was a visitation case and I hired an atty because previously the judge would not hear anything I was trying to say and I could not fail my child). Amanda came walking in after trial was supposed to start and sat away from my sister and I, because she was working on another case. She was so unprepared and her focus was on a “bigger” case. She even asked the judge to step out to call her office about a different case. She had no idea it was a trial (I told her that when we first met) and how unfit my child’s dad was. My child is in therapy because of his dad but the judge ruled on the fact they we were BOTH great parents. I paid Amanda every dime she asked for without question and I couldn’t afford it.
When expressing my concerns with her she wasn’t even apologetic. She couldn’t hold herself accountable. She made it a yelling match. She even made the statement “I hate to say it, but this is what happens when you lawyer up”. Technically I didn’t have a lawyer present. She kept telling the judge “well I had no idea” and “I just recently got this case” (she had it for over 2 months). Amanda ask my child’s dad one question “what county do you stay in” and she asked me a few, but it’s what I wrote on her pad during trial.
She told me she didn’t know anything about my case because I didn’t meet with her. Told me she is available every Saturday for her clients. How was I supposed to know that if I’ve never been told? Even when I asked her before trial, she never mentioned it.
I’m disappointed that money I didn’t have went in her pockets for nothing. However, I’m more hurt because she failed my child. Thanks Amanda!

Exactly what the title says. I've had dealings with attorneys for years for business and never have struggled so hard for communication. We even scheduled a set time to chat, confirmed the time in two emails and then was stood up and never really got an apology or any acknowledgement of the issues it created.
I always like to feel that maybe an interaction happened at a hard time (End of 2020 and we're all stressed) but when you are dealing directly with things that have profound effect on someone's life, good communication shouldn't be a compromise.

Experienced, professional, fair, and knowledgable. Showed empathy, concern, and offered good advice for me and my specific case. Competent, well-respected attorney with a ton of experience. Highly moral and ethical, but I know there are lawyers out there (more expensive ones) that may possibly be able to reduce DUI charges to less than what I got. That being said, Mr. Mcgee did a thorough job reducing my charge to wreckless driving and knowing how anxious and nervous I was - was incredibly sensitive and attentive to that to the point he actually had me smilling and laughing in the court room as a way to lessen my fears. A great man.

I paid him $1,500 upfront and all he did was write a letter to the D.A. (which I am glad he didn't press any charges because my arrest was should have never happened) and supposedly went to court on my behalf to make sure everything went accordingly, and finally filed my expungement 2-3 months late after I emailed him because he hadn't filed it yet (if he would have told me that if the case was dismissed I could file for expungement for nothing I would have filed myself making sure it was done asap). $1,500 for a letter, a short period of time in court which is just around the corner from his office, the papers he mailed me, and to file for expungement 2-3 months late and failed to tell me I could do myself for FREE. His letters all say contact him if you have any questions which I have done so but he has never responded back even with a I don't know, I can't help you, or a I don't give a crap because I already have your money. I wish I could give him a better rating but I can't.

Attorney Bernie McEvoy is an exceptionally thoughtful and caring legal professional as well as an all around super nice human being. On Friday, April 27, 2018, Attorney Bernie McEvoy’s advocacy gave me my life back after a nightmarish year and a half. A highly respected Sumner County judge dismissed some very serious charges against me. In open court, the visibly angry judge ruled that certain members of the Hendersonville Police Department and members of the District Attorney’s office acted with “gross negligence”, “violated several of my constitutional rights” and “were prejudicial” in the handling of my arrest and attempted bogus prosecution.
For those not familiar with the law, here’s the legal definition of gross negligence: “Gross negligence is a conscious and voluntary disregard of the need to use reasonable care, which is likely to cause foreseeable grave injury or harm to persons, property, or both. It is conduct that is extreme when compared with ordinary Negligence, which is a mere failure to exercise reasonable care.”
Attorney McEvoy’s diligence, knowledge of the law and research abilities were praised by the judge during the motions to dismiss. When I retained Mr. McEvoy to represent me, he promised to give me the quality of representation that he would “give to his own son had he been charged with those crimes.” I can say that, he did!
No one coerced me to write this review but I feel the need to recommend Attorney Bernie McEvoy to anyone needing very high quality legal representation. God bless you, Sir, and thank you for being my advocate through this very difficult period of my life.

Do not waste your money on this man.
He does not respond to calls or emails for WEEKS, and is rude when you’re finally able to get ahold of him. You’ll feel like you’re holding his hand the entire time to get him to do his OWN job. His excuse is that he needs patience because of his own personal issues. He was hired 2 years ago to work on this divorce and it is still not final even though all paperwork is done and has been done!! He blames his clients for HIS slow work!!!

Dealing with troubling times is never easy. Finding an honest attorney is just as hard. However, I was fortunate enough to find Gere! At one point in our mediation, he frequently checked on the opposing counsel and mediator to make sure neither of the two were "burning up the clock". He explained that it was common for mediators to stretch out the time so they could make more. If that doesn't tell you the type of man he is, then I don't know what else could.
