I consulted with Mr. Karp at the advise of a family member when I was seeking custody of my son. After speaking with him, I felt confident in what he could provide for me and my family. Highly Recommended! I have had the unfortunate luck of having to retain an attorney for 2 similar situations in the span of about 8 years. Me living 800 miles away from NY it proved difficult. Each time, I retained Jon Karp. 5 STARS! He took care of both situations as fast as could be allowed an efficiently. We all know court proceedings can be time consuming and costly. I hired Jon to represent me in a recent divorce case. I feel he did his job and lived up to what he said could do for me. There were a few emails I felt he could have responded quicker to but all in all he did what he said he could. Chris Obstarczyk handled my case efficiently and competently and in a timely manner. Chris Obstarczyk is a highly knowledgeable attorney who handled my speeding ticket case with great care and expediency. He was particularly responsive and always kept me informed on the status of my case. I thought that I was looking at a big fine, increased insurance premium and tedious defensive driving classes. In fact, I never had to attend court and my ticket was reduced to a parking violation which (as someone who needs to drive every day for my livelihood) was a HUGE relief. I certainly don't advocate speeding and will absolutely watch my speed, but the penalties today can be overly severe.
I highly recommend Chris if you are looking for hassle free results. I can't thank him enough and I will absolutely call him for any of my legal needs.

To make a long story short as possible,I recently was arrested for criminal possession of a illegal handgun in the home,which at one time was a misdemeanor, but not any longer, I was charged with a felony, and that DA offered me one year in jail,with no probation, or five years probation and a felony charge,which would stay on my record for a life,i was busted dead to rights, and the DA did not want to reduce the charges that i mentioned,because.the cards were stacked against me, and seemed like no way out of this mess that I got myself into, after taken his advice and got letters from some professionals, which I cannot mention, and after at least five court appearances, he somehow got that DA to reduce the charges to a misdemeanor and only three years probation, and at a very reasonable fee,much cheaper then all the other lawyers here on Staten Island,he seemed to know his way around the court very well, and seemed to be very well-liked and everyone knew him.I hope to never need him again,LOL but if God forbid I ever get myself in trouble again, he'd be the first person I would call.
PS. Whenever I called him with any questions and he could not pick up the phone, he would call me back promptly, I felt like he was a friend not just a lawyer, you can't beat that.

Im going to be frank . I was seeking an affordable criminal defense lawyer in Staten island to handle my case and no luck . Every lawyer seemed like they hired me before i hired them. When i came across Mr. Capofari he had a differernt demeanor about him. He was honest about my status , punctual upon appointments, and always kept me informed with any updates pertaining to my case. I was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class C violent felony. I gave a full confession to the crime, even though I didn't really commit it. As another reviewer stated, Dan is exactly what you would hope and pray for when you find yourself in need of an attorney. We availed ourselves of Dan's help and guidance earlier this year (2013) when our 23 year old son had a lapse in good judgment and found himself in both a bad accident and facing DUI charges on top of all of the motor vehicle infractions. What compounded our dilemma is neither we nor our son is a resident of New York and thus were totally out of our element with respect as to what to do and how to wade thru the NY court system. I managed to find Dan’s and his partner Mike Mohun website and liked what I read there. When I called I spoke with Dan’s partner and he immediately made me feel comfortable with my decision and assured me that one of them would be present at the arraignment. This was all on very short notice as I called on a Monday, the arraignment was two days later on Wed.
Dan showed up at the arraignment, talked to our son a bit, and then went in front of the judge and unfortunately there were some snafus from the county’s side and the hearing was rescheduled. Following the initial meeting Dan stayed in contact with our son and worked to resolve the matter to a much better resolution. He carefully laid out what was facing our son, what the possible outcomes were and what he hoped to achieve and potential pitfalls. In short Dan did not gild the lily nor did he paint a picture of hopelessness.
While it took a little longer to resolve than we were hoping for (all due to the delays from the state) in the end Dan managed to literally give our son his life back with a resolution that was exceptionally fortuitous in light of all he was he was facing. I do not want to go into details as to the final resolution as each case is different and it would be extremely unfair to Dan to expect every case to end in the same manner. Suffice it to say, if you find yourself in need of an excellent defense attorney, I don’t feel you could do any better than placing your trust in Dan Killelea, he is extremely knowledgeable, proactive, honest and most importantly available when you need to talk to him.

I had a very unique case that required a very knowledgeable and alert lawyer who knew how to handle a life changing charge. When I was first charged, I contacted numerous lawyers who all promised the same thing without properly acquiring all the facts.
When I had contacted Dan, there was a connection and a human touch unlike anyone I had previously communicated with. When we spoke, Dan was honest which made me feel that he was in it for more than just the business. The further the case unraveled the more serious the outcome became and the harder he fought. During the whole process Dan heard my opinions and worked with me at every turn. Without his great attention to detail I would have had a life changing outcome. With his help I was able to keep my lively hood and continue to drive. I was very fortunate with my outcome and know this cannot always be the case but without his representation I can guarantee my outcome would have been different.
Throughout one of the hardest experiences of my life Mr. Killela was there at every turn answering questions and coaching me through it. He made this whole experience much easier and would recommend him to anyone that needs help. Dan is all that you would hope and pray that someone would be when they have your future in their hands. I had an unusual case, one that required belief in me, attention to detail, knowledge and persistence. I met with two other Attorney's before I retained Dan. They both were leading me towards what would have been the quick and easy resolution. That in turn would have ruined my future for many years to come. Dan, listened, investigated and fought hard on my behalf. He kept me informed throughout the process and stayed positive. Ultimately, we won my case. It was a long tough chapter of my life. I believe that most Attorney's would have eventually directed me to plea a deal regardless of the injustice. Dan stayed the course and never wavered. I owe him a great deal of Thanks. The special circumstances of my case meant very little to most people and left me with a very slim chance.

In addition, Daniel is an in-network provider for the MetLaw/Hyatt Legal plan. I had heard horror stories that lawyers use those plans to rope you in and then get you to pay for all kinds of additional services that your plan doesn't cover, but that wasn't an issue at all with Daniel.

Last year hired Mr. Giordano to represent me when Ossining Village (NY) said I owed them around $4,000 for parking tickets. Ended up paying only $400, plus Mr. Giordano's very reasonable fee to represent me in court. Last month AGAIN hired him to represent me for 4 more overnight parking tickets that I did not deserve. Got in trouble with local government; got convicted of aggravated harassment 2nd. Hired Mr. Anthony Giordano, Ossining, N.Y. to appeal the conviction. He wrote legal papers and got the case heard in New York's highest court, the NY Court of Appeals. We WON! My conviction was over-turned. NOT GUILTY! Mr. Giordano's papers submitted to the Court were brilliantly written, and it was absolutely amazing to watch this man in action, in front of 7 Justices. I've since watched Mr. Giordano a few times in local courts and remain amazed at his vast knowledge of criminal and zoning laws.
Mr. Giordano is professional, caring, knowledgeable, and thorough. I have recommended him to around 25 people and all have praised Mr. Giordano's legal expertise and abilities. Mr. Pennock is the best lawyer I've ever had, one you would want to have on your side no matter what type of case or legal affairs you want handled. He is very thorough, honest, and detail-oriented. Nothing misses his legal eye, and the wealth of accumulated legal knowledge and experience he has in various legal areas (especially in cases where they might overlap legal boundaries) is unbeatable. He is fair in everything, including and especially his reasonable fees, and he will tell you if you are being unreasonable in your demands or if you are crossing any legal lines in any of your cases and dealings that you entrust to him. He was my lawyer for a car accident and in real estate, and the thoroughness of the advice and work that he put into both were the same even though both didn't actually pay him the same amount of money. I am always amazed at how he assimilates and thoroughly digests every detail of any importance. At deposition and trial, John handles every witness with great skill, persistently extracting from them good, solid, factual testimony. Jurors follow his every move in the courtroom, listening intently to his penetrating examination of witnesses, both friendly and hostile. Mr Cadden represented me in the Southampton Justice Court a charges of DWI , Failure to signal and possession of Marijuana. I was pulled over and arrested by a Southampton Town Police officer.
I live in Manhattan and was staying in the Hamptons for the weekend when i got arrested. I got released and was told to come back to court in 3 weeks with an attorney.
I made a few calls to some attorney friends i have here in NY and was directed to Mr Cadden as the "man to see for all east end criminal and traffic matters".
I found out he was indeed. Mr Cadden was able to convince the DA to reduce my DWI charge to a speeding ticket, and the Failure to Signal charge was dismissed as was The Marijuana charge.
I paid a $375 fine for the speeding conviction. Based on my observations of Mr Cadden in Court he appears to be very well known and respected by the Judge, DA's and people who work in The Southampton Court.
As a word of caution, his fee was by no means cheap, but It was worth it considering the outstanding results.

When I was charged with a felony DWI I need a lawyer who listen, care for and defend me to the best of their ability. Having children and a career, I knew that loosing my license would be detrimental my children's lives because I could potentially loose my job or need to quit my job. I had initially hired a larger firm, with the mindset that "you get what you pay for." After a few weeks, I found myself to be utterly disappointed with my decision. I signed the contract and payed the fee, but nobody would return my calls in regards to my case, or call me to update me on my case. I felt like I was in the dark. Then when I finally did receive a call, instead of the lawyer talking to like their was hope, he talked to meet like I was just another case in their case load. I was utterly disappointed in my decision. I then began saving money to seek out other representation. A coworker of mine suggested I meet with Attorney Melanson. After meeting with him for a short time, I realized he was the person I needed from the beginning. He made me feel like he had my back at a time when I desperately needed someone to. Attorney Melanson returned my calls almost immediately, was honest and upfront about my case from the beginning, and treated me like I was his most important client. He made sure I knew the worst possible outcome but fought incredibly hard to get the best possible outcome. In the end, my case was reduced significantly. I have my job, my license and most importantly my children's safety and security.My family and I are so thankful for his hard work and for his dedication to my case.

I’ve recently hire the services of Mr. Ronen Cohen and all I can say is that not all lawyers are the same. Mr. Ronen kept me informed thru the whole process either via email or phone call. After years of maintaining a clean driving record, I received two big tickets within a short time. Together, they amounted to a total of 14 points. I was despondent. Facing the possibility of big fines, increased insurance premiums, and possibly the loss of my Driver's License, I decided not to risk fighting this myself. One short phone call changed all that. From the first phone call, I spoke with Ronen himself, and he was very reassuring. He never promised miracles, but charged me a fair price, and said he would aim to give me the best possible outcome. In the end, one of my 6 point ticket was reduced to zero points, and the 8 point ticket to a 2 point, non moving violation. I met David Ocasio in the late February 2015, in the Bullpens, shortly before I saw the Arraignment Judge. I saw him for the first time, he was sitting behind the glass from our booth. My first impression of him was, very organized, his professional appearance almost instantly calmed my tense situation. when we spoke he spoke very firmly and confident. behind his confident demeanor I found hope, I knew freedom was not a dream. So I was nervous actually to be honest I was terrified. Due to this being my third lawyer for the same case I was feeling helpless. But as they say third time's the charm. His rate was very reasonable compared to other lawyers I consulted with at the time. He was very upfront with me, held nothing back, and assured me I was in the right hands (and that I was). He spoke with me during our consultations of any potential outcome or consequences, if any, that I may have faced but luckily there were none of concern. He stuck to his word in our achievement of a favorable outcome in my case, and any good lawyer would say to their client that they can't promise anything for certain. He has extensive knowledge of law & the legal system, and is VERY trustworthy & reliable. During one such meeting we had, he implemented Google Maps, without myself even suggesting doing so, right in the convenience of his office on his computer, so that he could see for himself where the incident was that I was at. I was able to point out for him exactly what happened as if he was right there in person at that location at that given time, and he kept extensive information and records of everything pertaining to our matter. I thought very well of him for his smartness. If only I knew of this lawyer during the time of the traffic stop I was in due to the officer's integrity and this officer's encounters with me in the past. OK, so I just bought a house in Homestead and during the closing the lawyers were talking about my "new" taxes. Yeah, that's cool, they aren't too crazy, but anyway, they were saying that this guy was hired by the city and he's crushin' all of these slime balls who haven't paid their taxes in like over 20 years!! They were joking that if I didn't pay some taxes that were owed that this "Sherriff Cowboy" would show up and make sure Yonkers got paid.
