I live outside of the state and contacted Ewing Law Group when I was faced with a stressful, frustrating case and a very short time frame that would require them to travel to another county. I spoke with Jason Ewing, and during our very first conversation it became clear that he is an honest person of integrity. I explained my situation, and he took the time to answer all of my initial questions, then advised me that he could take my case but that it would be cheaper for me to choose someone closer to the county where my case was filed. Knowing my financial situation, he also offered to help me complete paperwork myself, but in the end, I asked him to take the case to avoid the stress, and I am so glad I did. Through the course of working with Jason, he was very professional, but I felt more like I was communicating with a friend than simply an attorney. I never felt rushed, or that he was “squeezing me in”, even though I had a deadline coming up when I contacted him.
He was very knowledgeable, and was always willing to answer any and all of my questions, no matter how annoying I’m sure they were. I tend to worry but he never discouraged my “what if” questions and was patient and understanding of all my concerns. He took the time to break things down into simple terms and make sure that I understood things clearly.
I was impressed with his consistent promptness in returning calls and emails – there are attorneys who figure once they have your money, you are basically stuck, so you can wait until they get around to dealing with your situation. He informed me that he believes if he is being paid to perform a service, he owes it to his clients to address their concerns as soon as possible, which is something I really respect. He was very thorough, and I appreciated that if I sent him an email, he made a point to address each issue individually – I never had to email him again or call him back because something was overlooked.
Jason went above and beyond in my case, and we got the outcome we wanted. I would not hesitate to recommend Ewing Law Group to my friends and family, and would call him immediately if I ever needed legal assistance in the state of California in the future.

I contacted James when I was arrested for a DUI. I had been in some trouble when I was younger, so not completely new to the court systems but now, as an adult, I knew a DUI conviction could negatively affect me in my job and I wanted to be sure I was doing the best to protect myself. While I'm not happy with the situation I got myself into, I was glad to have James in my corner advising and taking care of things in the best possible way. i landed in jail and it seem as tho the case i was there on wasnt going to be resolved as quickly as it should. I ended up having 3 attorney before C. Butler received my case and even tho it still took a few more months Ms. Butler made those months more tolerant then one can deal with under the medical conditions i had but stressing wasnt a problem cause Ms Butler kept me well informed of every aspect of my case. She showed a high interest of wanting to resolved my case. Ms. Butler was a true blessing.

Selecting Joe Valdez as my representation was an absolute pleasure. Not only did he work with me prior to providing any funds but he was willing to work with me on payments for representation. Since I currently live in LA and my court case was in Sacramento, CA I was facing the issues of Transferring charges to different counties, which told a huge effort on my part and Joe’s part to make possible; Joe was able to rearrange court dates to work around my wok schedule so I was able to attend appropriate session in the court house on multiple dates. When I was not able to attend the court appointment, I was a rest knowing of Joe's extensive relationship with the court systems he would be able to communicate between the courts systems and myself as if I were present. At the beginning of my case I was looking at face 90(+) time served and still having to attend all appropriate classes requirements to conclude the 1st time D.U.I offender program in Sacramento, CA. My case was carried out for a few more months during this time Joe was able to work the sentence time to 29 days (which was Transferable and could be completed in Sheriffs work program/House arrest) and minimal finds and program attendance. Selecting Joe was a blessing; I could not imagine a better represenative for myself. He represented me in a way that I could not be happier with, during this crucial moment of my life. I recommend Joe Valdez to anyone seeking fair chances in court systems and life.

I was falsely accused of a sex crime, I hired Mr. Mathew Martinez to defend me against false charges from the the DA. From the time I hired him, he knows already all the accusations are incorrect and evidence provided by the DA are inconsistent and unreliable, he already know exactly of what to do on how to get my case dismissed. My case took about a year in pending because of certain reasons like delaying tactic, but this lawyer never gave up on me and continued to fight for me, gave me update in a timely manner. The DA gave several offers for me to take from no resolution, to a year jailtime with registration, to six months Jail time to no registration to the point that no jailtime and no registration and a felony charges down to misdimeanor, but Atty. Mathew was very confident and smart, even before the DA starts offering their resolution, Atty. Mathews was already ahead of a game telling me of what's going to happen and what he feels the DA is going to offer to resolve the case, and rest assured what he told me is exactly what happened. several offers was given by the DA to the point that they even offered no Jailtime at all. I know my freedom was in a jeopardy at that time, and dont know exactly of what is going to happen to me or where would this case take me, but I know and I believe that the truth will prevail in Gods perfect timing. Mr. Mathew Martinez was used as the instrument to help me, his unique move as defence attorney is one of a kind, he is very comfortable in court as if he's the only man running the show while in the court room, he talks very straight forward to theprosecuter demanding them and challenging them to dismis my case and promising them that they are not going to win. Without Atty. Mathew help and advices, I would have probably got deceive by the DA's offer and ended up losing by accepting their resolution. The DA ended up throwing my case last minute for lack of evidence.

My ex slapped a restraining order on me for nothing. Mr. Martinez handled the DVTRO hearing. He told me not to worry about anything. He was aggressive, prepared, and he knew what to do when we got into the courtroom. Not only was the RO against me denied, the judge granted my request for a restraining order against my ex. I am now in the process of becoming a citizen. If not for his aggressive representation my dream of becoming a citizen might no be possible. Mark was the first attorney I had spoken to that understood my desire, not to take a plea bargain because I was innocent. The other attorney's tries to almost scare you into taking this plea. I was fighting a misdemeanor charge that I was not going to plea guilty to. I was ready to take it all the way to trial if need be. I'm also disabled and in a wheelchair. Charles was very helpful with my physical condition. I never had to go to court once he was hired. He was very professional and keeped me posted on every aspect of my case. Jessie Morris saved my life and my freedom in 1983. Jessie was my attorney in a criminal case in Sacramento court in a jury trial. I was in jail awaiting trial for a year because I was not able to bail out financially. Jessie fought very hard for me in trial and the end results was not guilty of all 15 count charges. I walked out of the court house the same day and return to my military career and finished my 20 years of service. This guy used to be a prosecutor. He is very good at helping defendants prove themselves over the course of time patterns of behavior that a public defender just can't offer.
His drawback for me was that he was so busy and we had conflicting schedules, so it was difficult to maintain communication. Otherwise, he's an outstanding lawyer. Very good reputation in court from what I gather.

Lisa helped my husband and me with our process of getting a Green Card last year 2017. He found Lisa online and it was a great decision we made to go with her immigration service because I’m Japanese so it was very helpful for me that she explained details of immigration law in Japanese. Also I asked her a bunch of small questions that I was concerned about immigration process via email and she always gave me an answer. Before our immigration interview, Lisa went through everything of our case that our interviewer would ask. That got us prepared and was very helpful. Where to begin....first and foremost I would like to begin by thanking Lisa for all of her patience and hard work. Starting the immigration process was something my husband and I had been dreading for a very long time. We had two other consultations with different attorneys but they were not able to answer most of our questions. When we met Lisa, it was like night and day. She answered all of our questions without hesitation. She was confident and that put us at ease. She was always in touch with us via phone or email. Some of her emails were after regular business hours... like 11:00pm.. :) that definitely showed that she cared about our concerns no matter the time what it was.
