We chose Amy Wicks after interviewing about a dozen attorneys for a move-away case. We were moving out of state and our daughters father was disputing. She handled everything quickly and efficiently. She made sure we understood all angles that could be taken by the opposing party and she was honest with us about the possibilities of what could happen. In court, she was by far the most prepared and hard-hitting attorney in the room. The opposing (and actually more experienced) attorney threw a fit and had to apologize to the Judge because he could not keep up with Amy in a professional manner. She had an immediate and valid response to every argument he brought up. In the end, she kept the move-away case from developing into a trial and we were able to settle, gaining more than what we had originally asked for because Amy is that good! We will use her for everything custody related moving forward and we only wish we had found her 6 years ago when this all began.

Over the years I have been by my husband's side as he has fought a horrific custody battle using countless of Modesto's "best" lawyers with very small results until we hired Betty Julian. She was truly amazing! I have hired a few lawyers over the years for my divorce and custody proceedings with lackluster results until I hired Betty Julian. I appreciated her straight forward, honest, hard-working domeanor, and utmost professionalism. My friend referred me to Arthur as I was struggling in my case. After my first phone call with Arthur, I decided to choose him as my second attorney immediately. My first attorney did not do good job that make me suffering and dragging my case. Instead, Arthur has very good knowledge that helped me a lot. He always explains in very efficient, patient, and clear way that I can understand what my next step is. My case is relatively complicated but Arthur is always responsive and supporting me fully. He is very practical and realistic and easy to communicate that really make my life easier especially in such complicated case. I hired Arthur for an uncontested divorce. His fees were much lower than another attorney I interviewed. He is friendly and easy to talk to and at times would remind me that he would have to charge me for certain tasks that I could do myself and for other time spent not covered under the original quote. He is very responsive and checked up on me when things were stalled (with my spouse). I communicated with him via phone and mostly email which was very convenient. His advice was practical and realistic, not trying to get more money from my spouse for little things which would've costed me more in fees. I would definitely recommend him for an uncontested divorce.

A few months back my ex and I got into an argument and before I knew it she had called the police. I ended up in jail and was arrested for domestic abuse, assault and battery. I know that it's a cliche but I never touched her and was only defending myself! A friend of mine told me about Lipton Law Offices and I asked him to contact Mr. Lipton on my behalf. Within hours his bail bondsman had bailed me out of jail. After I was released, I immediately met with Mr. Lipton and was totally impressed. He was enthusiastic and tenacious in handling my case and always kept me in the loop. His persistent arguments to the District Attorney led to the dismissal of my case. The charge against me was a misdemeanor hit and run. I was very nervous and fearful, because I have never been in trouble with the law. I knew right away that I had to find a knowledgeable attorney who truly cared about representing me to the best of their ability. I interviewed multiple lawyer's and found that most of them were all talk and no action. After interviewing Mr. Lipton and reviewing my case together, i was immediately relieved. He explained, in detail, what every section of the police report meant in a clear and concise manner. He was prompt and kept me informed on a constant basis. He also comforted me and made me feel at ease. I felt like a human being, not a criminal like other attorney's made me feel.
The District Attorney handling this matter was very reluctant to reduce the charge, but with Mr. Lipton's diligence and investigative skills he was able to pin point many areas in which sufficient evidence lacked. He displayed extensive legal knowledge and negotiating skills. Because of Mr. Lipton's dedication, experience, and professionalism, the D.A. to reduced my charge to an infraction.

There arent enough words to express how much of an AMAZING Attorney Michael is. He sets the bar on the level of communication he has with his clients. He takes so much pride in his ability to fight for his client, that he studies each and every word in your case. There were details he remembered that I had informed him of, and as I thought I was notifying him for the first time, he finished my update all on his own, remembering every little detail, as if it happened directly to him. I forgot I had already relayed the update, but I cant even begin to describe the overwhelming feeling of comfort to know Michael was not just my attorney, he was someone who genuinely cared about me and my kids. We went to our hearing, Michael all prepared and excited to represent me, evidence and notes in one hand and confidence in the other. Michael is not a very tall man by any means, but the fight he had inside of him, the fight he used defending and representing me, was one of an army from Sparta!! As a mom, going through court against my kids father, who instigated constant chaos, is that last and the hardest situation you ever want to face in general, however, just to know that Michael was in my corner fighting with and for me and my kids, made this situation a bit easier to handle. I hired Laura after interviewing a few lawyers and I have not regretted my decision to hire her. Wow!! Mr. Carbone and his team has helped put my family back in order with his unbelievable talents in the court room. I was paying out the wazoo to my ex and barely seeing my child and Mr.Carbone assured me at the consultation that he could fix it for me. We went to court and after he started i thought to myself "This guy is out of his league, he needs to be in a big city with big shot attorneys". We hired Jamra and Jamra for a volatile divorce and were super happy to have Michael Hanasab handle our case. There were lots of scary issues to contend with regarding child custody and allegations about unfairness in the divorce proceedings. Michael gave the best advice, although I wasn’t the best at following it, I did end up getting full custody of my children. I wish that all of this never happened but am very grateful to Michael for being the voice of reason. He was able to defend a lot of the unjust accusations and kept a calm demeanor throughout all of the drama. I will always be appreciative of Michael’s knowledge of the law and his ability to apply it with such precision. He is honest, reliable and professional. I was in a very stressful and critical phase of my divorce where I was being accused of some pretty untrue, but lethal things that could have caused me to not get the custody of my children I wanted and deserved. I hired Mike and he came in there and made the "clutch free-throws" when it counted. He responded perfectly to the opposing council. We ended up going to court and he walked in their looking highly polished and confident, not arrogant and made the opposing council so nervous, they had no choice but to back down and give me what was fair and reasonable.

I hired Michael (along with Grace Jamra) in 2011. I came over from another big firm as I had been disappointed with the direction of my ongoing custody case. At the time I hired Michael I was facing more litigation and hearings and an evaluation. Michael was able to talk to opposing counsel and made every attempt to calm the situation. He knew my case inside and out, was reachable when I needed him and guided me through some very tough times. When it came to the evaluation Michael was instrumental in helping to pick the right evaluator (something that took quite a while) and met with me on several occasions to answer any and all questions I had about the process. Needless to say, my case turned around and in the end Michael was able to get opposing party to settle (even though opposing party was adamant about fighting and going to trial).
As for cost, I had to laugh at the negative review here. I was charged triple that amount at my previous firm in a matter of months. The billing with Michael @ Jamra & Jamra was incredibly fair and hugely different billing practices than some of the bigger firms. I never once felt I was being over billed or double/triple billed like I did at my previous big firm. Anyone who is going into custody litigation needs to do research and realize that it is an expensive area of law and the more litigation involved the higher the costs. I wouldn't think twice before recommending Michael to others if they needed a good and competent custody/divorce lawyer.

If I had listened to Iris when I first met with her, my divorce could have been quick, and very efficient. Instead, when we started less than 1 year later, we embarked on a 40 month, 29 hearing, and 2 canceled trials, that finally concluded with a 4 day trial, because my Ex refused to negotiate. Along the way Iris never mislead me, prepared me for all outcomes, and even spent her own time researching multiple complex issues. It's her preparation, legal smarts, and gut instincts you want only on your side. Iris found the way to present and prove the truth.
During this journey I got to know Iris on a personal level and she is a genuine, decent person, who cares about her clients, which I've learned is very important when dealing in family law. Iris is not just looking to cash your check.

The most vicious and evil people in the world are not just those who commit blatantly overt crimes, but also those who masquerade as do-gooders, for the purpose of deceiving and robbing others of their time, money, and peace of mind. On the outside they appear to say and do all the right things, as they pursue cover-up careers, and titles that make them look altruistic and charitable to those that don’t really know them. Sometimes they even pretend to be advocates for the bullied and less fortunate. These sorts of people are highly skilled in the deception game, and are extremely convincing actors because they live inside their own heads, and believe their own lies. They lack integrity and ruin lives. Our opponent was such a person; however, she was not able to fool Iris Finsilver, nor was she able to browbeat, or outwit her.
Iris immediately saw our opponent, for the con artist she was, and developed a strategy that exposed her falsified statements and web of lies. Iris uncovered and provided irrefutable evidence that verified that our antagonist committed perjury.
Truth won out because, Iris not only uncovered the lies, she substantiated the truth. We won our case and we were able to move forward with our lives, quite happily, and successfully, and unencumbered, despite the attempts of the most shrewd and crafty con artist we ever encountered.
Our opponent did not meet her match. She was OUTMATCHED by Iris Finsilver, our personal attorney for over ten years. We recommend Iris to anyone in need of a highly capable and fearless champion.

Rachel and Dana are the absolute best in the county. I interviewed several attorneys before deciding on Kruger Family Law. Like many other people I had poor experiences with larger firms and attorneys who were more concerned with making money than getting to know the client and working toward positive results for the client. In my experience with Daniel, not only did he take the time to get to know me, my case and the results I was hoping for, he made valiant efforts to keep me updated and aware of what my options were at all times. Even though finances are a big part of how aggressive clients can be in attaining the results they hope to see, Daniel kept me aware of what my options were, what the pros and cons were to each and gave me the information I needed to make the best decision for me. I then called Ms Harris and she talked for about an hour and was so reassuring , my daughter and I went in and it seemed like she was an angel sent to us by heaven , she took on this case that had already went to mediation and we thought was hopeless , she stepped in and took it all the way to trial , I thought I was watching a movie she took over and just had me in aw , her ex had hived a well known attorney and we thought we were beating a dead horse so to speak but she went in the court room as she did with us before and by the way she always was good in court , and she started off with penalizing the other attorney for not have filed and serving all the proper paper work , ( now remember this attorney was from a lg well known firm ) and that set the stage , they could not speak at all , she then proceeded to present her case for about three hours , it was amazing , it should of been filmed for a how to movie , at the end it was better than expected all of her demands were granted , I just have to say if you don't choose Ms Harris you would be making a big mistake , her daughter is her assistant and is just as good as her mother and together they are the best attorney team I ever ! , they pay attention to all details and it dose make a difference , they gave us peace in our home and saved my grand daughter from harms way , thank you again !!!!!

I came to miss Calvert last year, with a domestic violence charge, I had warrants for my arrest, a battery charge, a breaking a court order charge and a vandalism charge, I was scarred as hell! It's very difficult to trump the first two reviews - they pretty much said it all about Caitlin. But here goes...
First of all, if you have never been through a divorce before, I pray that if you have to, your soon to be ex will not put you through a contentious battle, most especially if there are children involved. Because believe you me, if you think you have any idea of what lies ahead for you, think again. There is no amount of hyperbole that can describe how insane the family law court system is. The bottom line, it's all about making money off of vulnerable, despondent, and already stressed out people. These lawyers DO NOT care about you, or your children. They only care about running up their bill and making money. They will do whatever they can (often times in collusion with the opposing counsel) to add and/or create even more conflict in your divorce because more conflict means more money for them and their firms. Again, if you think I'm just bitter and exaggerating, go online (Google, YouTube, etc...) and do the research for yourself. An ugly divorce/custody battle often leads to suicide, bankruptcy, loss of job, depression, illness, etc... So please people - don't do this to yourself and most especially please don't do this to your kids! Part ways peacefully, because if you don't, you will regret it for the rest of your life.
This is why I am glad I used this angel of an attorney throughout the majority of my long divorce/custody battle. She cares about her clients and most especially their children (she's a LMFT to boot!). She is not in it for the money and will do everything she can to save you from a long, drawn out battle. She is honest, empathetic, compassionate and is a person with the utmost integrity. Caitlin will not allow her clients to debase themselves and play dirty no matter how vicious and perjurious the opposition gets. I'm so happy at day's end that I used her for the majority of my long, drawn out battle. For she helped me keep my soul and my own integrity and at day's end, I can look back and be proud someday that I never debased myself (most importantly for my child as well).
If you want a mean, nasty bulldog of an attorney (btw, they are really really really expensive!!!) than by all means do NOT hire Caitlin. However, if you are looking for a honest, compassionate HUMAN BEING to help you, then please give her a call. She will always do what's best for you her client. She will never gouge you with fees, and will fight opposing counsel with compassionate logic that sooner or later will break them down. I call her the Mahatma Gandhi of divorce attorneys!

Caitlin Burgess represented me at a settlement conference and did a stellar job detailing the facts to a seasoned judge. Her mannerisms are of the utmost in professionalism and her knowledge of the family law system is vast. Her background in psychology as a licensed marriage and family therapist is an added bonus for there are many aggressive litigants who unfortunately have a pathology which the opposing side must deal with, sometimes in ongoing litigation which lasts for years. Ms. Burgess was able to formulate a tactical plan of approach to settlement, utilizing her expertise in several areas to bring the litigation to a close without causing me to have to shoulder the expensive and time consuming burden of a trial.
There is something to be said for representation that is so client-centered. If I could give someone new to divorce proceedings advice, I would caution them to stay away from the big firms and call Caitlin first. I was originally represented by one of the firms in San Jose. They felt a bit like a Mafia; only I, as their client, was the target!
I spent a large amount of money with very little result. I found I could do better with an attorney like Caitlin in my corner. The big firms are clearly after people's money in a very high-conflict time between former partners. They actually encourage the aggressive litigant and do as much as they can to pad up their bills.
Ms. Burgess is completely against this behavior and practices with honesty, integrity, and professionalism. Over the course of her representation, she fought hard and succeeded in winning me the best possible outcome.

I had a really bad situation come up involving my child and the spouse of their maternal aunt’s. It was an absolute emergency situation for them. I raised issues with their mother to try to come up with a game plan to keep our child safe only to have her and her entire family treat me as though this was a fabrication. It was obvious at that moment I needed a lawyer and I started making calls…one call actually to Hiba.
She gave me some advice over the phone and I hired her the next day. She moved very quickly, filed ex parte emergency change of custody and within the week my child was safe in my home.
We did proceed with a RFO for a custody change due to the fact my child’s mother and their family continued to protect the perpetrator, and after that hearing my child was in my primary physical custody.
This all happened very very quickly and I would have been at a complete loss without Hiba. She saved my child from a very bad situation and protected me along the way. She answered every question I had (even the ones that didn’t need to be addressed and stemmed from anxiety over the situation) and was kind courteous and a complete champion for us.

I called Ms Benny’s office for the first time on a Thursday morning. Tom, the man that answered the phone was thorough and professional, took my information, confirmed my case was something the office could handle, and gave me instructions to get documentation to the office for the attorney to review and call me back for the free consultation. Ms Benny called promptly when she said she would and had clearly familiarized herself with the details of my case to make the best use of the free consultation hour. During the consultation she helped explain to us how things worked in court, that we had not been aware of before, and offered solutions for my case that I wasn’t even aware were possible. We decided to hire her.
The hearing in my case was only six days away, but Me Benny and her staff got to work immediately. They were able to negotiate a settlement with opposing counsel that I believe best protected all parties involved. She and her staff are caring, very knowledgeable, and very efficient. While they are not the least expensive attorneys in the area, they are worth every penny. She made one of the worst times in my life vastly less stressful and helped me reach an outcome I didn’t think was even possible. I hired Hiba last year to represent me during my divorce and child custody battle.
To be honest, none of that was good, especially for a single dad in the state of California. That being said, Hiba did a great job at keeping me accountable and ensuring I did what I needed to do on my end, which would allow her to do what she needed to in order to best help me while encouraging me throughout this difficult process.
There was a lot of really good communication, And I know Hiba mitigated a lot of potential negatives from happening to me with just how aggressive and thorough her approach was.
I know I wasn’t the easiest client...there was a lot of pressure and stress that came along with the circumstances... but I think what separates Hiba from other attorneys, is the level of customer service, honesty and empathy that I saw from her while going through all of that.
