She was in with the DA and didn't help my husband at all on his case, she would not fight for him why because the court was paying her. She no better then the public defender. She didn't even give him the right days credited. She should be an attorney an do her job right or not be an attorney at all !!! I would not recommend her as an attorney, she will fail you just like she did my husband.

This is an awful firm to work with. They charge exorbitant fees. Use junior lawyers who are unqualified, have poor communication skills and take two days to respond to client requests. They charged us close to $6,000 for an eviction. Beware of this firm. I do not recommend and am pulling my three properties that are currently with them.

Carla was a horrible attorney for me! It was in 2011 I came to her with threats on my life from my husband and seeking a divorce. Her assistant Catherine MacCarthy did ALL the work and answer all my questions, Carla was sick but never was apologetic in her absence as my attorney. I didn’t receive what I should have because she wasn’t willing to stand up to my husbands attorney. I decided to see if she was still an attorney even, when I read all these nice reviews and had to get my truth out there.

If it were not for Carla's help, I'm not sure I would have the life that I share with my daughter today. Navigating the waters of a custody case are overwhelming and scary. Carla was very effective dealing with my emotions given what was at stake and kept me focused on what was important. Carla helped debunk the allegations that were on the table and effectively negotiated a settlement out of court. She is a fantastic family attorney and a wonderful person to boot.

Carla handled a fairly complicated divorce for me. She was very well prepared in court, often several steps ahead of opposing counsel. She had answers to their questions before they knew what they were going to ask.
She took care to ensure what was best for my son and leveraged a combination of negation and the courts to deescalate where possible. This ultimately brought us to settlement in what, by all measures, could have been a contentious and messy process.
Above all, I felt like she struck just the right balance between being legally and strategically acute, while still compassionate to the emotional difficulties of divorce. She often asked me of how my son was doing, with honest concern, and clearly wanted to help me achieve a peaceful and fair outcome.
I certainly have no plans to get divorced again, but I would highly recommend her to anybody needing a family attorney.

Having no experience in this field at all, I was pretty terrified when I was shown to be at fault for a car accident. The entire team was excellent gave me a lot of information helped me to remain calm, and on the day of Katy in particular went way above and beyond the call of duty to help facilitate me reaching the courthouse on time. I was very impressed on every level with this operation.
Oh, and they significantly reduced the amount of trouble I was going to get into! Well worth the retainer.

In the beginning it felt like this firm truly had my children's best interest at heart. My case played out for over 3 years. After "winning" at trial with further litigation to take place, I was struck with an uneasy feeling. I felt bullied into a settlement as the attorneys were fed up with my case. Many people had told me over the duration of my case that things weren't quite adding up and that my attorney did not seem to have our best interests at heart. I began to reflect on the case and all the inconsistencies, placating to the other side and capitulating to them as well. I then conferred with another attorney and ended up retaining her services to finish out my case. Upon the new attorney's review of my case, she stated this case was a mess, and she was flabbergasted at all the litigation that was allowed to take place. She mentioned there was a much more direct way to have gone about this case, less money and time wasted, not to mention my children's mental and emotional health. My worst feelings had been confirmed. It is a relief to finally have someone on my case who is truly for the children and not the money.

My experience with Allen Vellone Wolf Helfrich & Factor has been beyond great. They dug into the issues of my case and discovered things in my favor that go far beyond what other defendants in the same case appear to have missed or not seriously considered. My opinions of Jim Helfrich and Kate Sender go beyond my ability to express. The best I can say is that I trust them to do their absolute best, which I believe they have done. No bullshit.
They haven’t always told me what I want to hear, but they have always considered my opinion and that has been reflected in the things they have produced on my behalf. My case is not over, but they believe in me and have taken my side with the best they have to offer. Their rates are fair, and I have never had the feeling they were fabricating hours as so many law firms do, especially the law firm that is attacking me. I suspect I will have more to add to this review in the future.

My experience with Barringer Law Firm was absolutely horrendous, though it took 2 years of research to understand just how badly I had been screwed due to his negligence.
My case was so severely mishandled, I ended up with a nominal fraction of what I would have if Matthew had done his fiduciary duty to me, his client. He even had my sign away “my rights to child support”. Turns out that is not even legal as it is the right of the CHILD to have support.
I am unable to afford a legal malpractice suit to hold him accountable so this is my offering. This man should under no circumstances be working in family law. He single handedly cost me and my daughter our livelihood due to him being paid up front and not wanting to put any more energy into my case which was less than bare minimum. The list goes on but I’ll leave it here; Shame on you Matthew. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS FIRM!!!

My case was unique and took way longer to resolve than first anticipated. The cost was higher than originally anticipated, but it was due to the complications of the case. They were always helpful when questions arose. The only negative is the original lawyer quit and moved on so I had to have another lawyer assigned, but it did not really affect the outcome.

My husband and I are still speechless to this day for what Colin did for my husband as well as me. The first lawyer my husband consulted gave him terrible advice, then we found Colin. Not long after the initial consultation my husband was arrested and I called Colin immediately to know what to do. He even had the patience to explain to me where I needed to go for my husbands bail hearing and how that process worked. This was a complex case from the start and Colin was there every step of the way. What started as sexual assault allegations after my husband told his ex wife he’d be filing for divorce, turned into an absolute nightmare that lasted months. Colin referred us to an amazing divorce attorney, and along the journey represented my husband to the end. Colin has extensive knowledge of criminal cases and this truly shows when he fights for you in the court room. We didn’t make things easy for Colin and his team either, along the journey my husband and I, who were struggling with addiction, represented us in Teller county for a new charge we each got as well as represented me in El Paso county for violating probation on a two year old dwai case. I know for a fact if we didn’t have Colin our lives would have been destroyed. He fought for me in El Paso and Teller county and I survived with no felonies. I don’t know how he did it, I was prepared for jail time due to a prior misdemeanor and current drug related charges. Colin spoke to the judge in El Paso county and fought for me, explaining how he had even been witness to me going through opiate withdrawals in his office. He stated the facts of the case, guided me on what steps to take, and spoke to the judge as if I was part of his family. He truly touched my life. My husband as well, the amount of work and time and dedication from Colin changed my husbands outlook on life. In a situation that looked extremely bad on paper, Colin took the time and patience to investigate everything and worked closely with the divorce lawyer to finally bring the case to an end when the prosecution filed for the sexual assault case against my husband to be dismissed for lack of evidence. When you’re in this situation that you never in a life time thought you’d be in, you think your life is over. ITS NOT. Colin is truly an angel, a miracle worker. He spoke daily with both of us, answered every question we had…. Even the insane ones lol… but he did it with care and love and dedication. My husband and I will forever be grateful to Colin and his team. This case was from 2019 I believe, and it took me a while to write the review, and I regret not writing it sooner so more people can be helped. When you think of the legal representation you need in a case, you think it’s not going to be affordable, but it was. With my husband being the only one working at the time, we were still able to fully retain Colin for all of our cases. Thank you Colin for changing our lives. Thank you for dedication your time and your team thank them as well! Mike and I are forever grateful! No matter how bad you think your case is, or how bad a situation you are in, talk to Colin or a member of his team. If he cannot assist you I promise he will refer you to someone equally dedicated and knowledgeable in the needed field! If I ever need a criminal defense lawyer again, I will call Colin. I hired Miles to represent me in a traffic case in which I was unable to attend the court date. In the end, he got me the best possible outcome regarding the tickets, however, the process leading up to the court date was a little shaky. It was often difficult to reach him and I felt as though I had to keep an eye on the process. He would not ask for paperwork from me, instead, I periodically had to check in with him to ensure he had everything he needed from me. Finally, on the court day, he called looking for more files. I would have expected them to check and make sure they had everything before the court date.
But like I said, in the end, everything worked out so I can't complain.

I contacted Mr. Cabral immediately after getting my ticket. The ticket said it was a misdemeanor traffic violation and I didn't want a chance to go to jail or the stress of having to deal with this on my own. Mr. Cabral worked on my case right from the beginning and kept in contact with me with each step. The ticket was written incorrectly so no one was going to take responsibility at the clerks office to determine which way to interpret the ticket. Mr. Cabral must have visited my case at least 5 times or more before meeting me. He was very professional and approachable. The $500 I paid was well worth the trauma and stress I didn't have to go through.

I hired Attorney Matt Patton in July of 2023 to help me with my divorce. My experience with Allen Vellone Wolf Helfrich & Factor has been beyond great. They dug into the issues of my case and discovered things in my favor that go far beyond what other defendants in the same case appear to have missed or not seriously considered. My opinions of Jim Helfrich and Kate Sender go beyond my ability to express. The best I can say is that I trust them to do their absolute best, which I believe they have done. No bullshit.
They haven’t always told me what I want to hear, but they have always considered my opinion and that has been reflected in the things they have produced on my behalf. My case is not over, but they believe in me and have taken my side with the best they have to offer. Their rates are fair, and I have never had the feeling they were fabricating hours as so many law firms do, especially the law firm that is attacking me. I suspect I will have more to add to this review in the future.

Michael Root failed to provide me with adequate representation in a Retaliation Against a Judge case. The witness (alleged victim Judge) had provably lied on the witness stand, and Mr. Root, more concerned about preserving his career than seeking justice, threw me under the bus: the official Court transcript vs. the actual evidence on the record of the Court proves this. I hired Steve because my case was complicated. I needed someone to do research on how is it a cop shows me a photo of the bumper of my car in contact with a beat up hyundai. I knew 100% that there was no way I did this. The charge: 12 pts. I hired Steve because he said he would visit the scene of the crime, so he could see the subsidized housing complex, the other cars in the street, a visual of the renters, and a good history of the car accidents on that road. He didnt make it over, he decides from the 911 call that the caller whom he'd never met was right and I was wrong . I felt trapped with an attorney who I had given 3000$ and he had promised one thing and did the other. In court he bargained down to 2 points telling me "This is a win". I couldn't believe it. I told him of a situation 2 yrs prior of being blamed for something, and was told I had to plead guilty. He said, "...and you don't want to do that again. ". Steve had left no time for us to converse recent events and driving history to give him a bigger picture. So I went from having a good driving history with an excellent insurance to having no insurance to drive anymore. I work in health care and a masters degree. I'm very aware, vigilant, and honest. I tried to pick an attorney who is similar. This didnt happen.

Andres did nothing in the case of my son. He took over the case from Ashely Whitham, who was doing a terrible job and Andres continued on with it. He scared my son so bad that he took a plea deal that he never should have taken just so Andres did not have to work to help my son with his case. Do not use Andres if you want to be treated fairly and have a positive outcome to your case. Do not use Andres if you do not have the money to pay him because money is his main motivation, if you do not have any, you lose. Do not use if you expect him not to work with the prosecuting attorney to throw the book at you. Does not keep your best interests to heart will only use you to further his career. Do not use unless you want to lose your case.

At the beginning of the divorce case there was minimum contact. When a deadline near there was more communication but was last minute. Once it came time for mediation the charges really increased and it felt as the information gathered in the 9 months prior was not retained. In the end I would have probably saved money by representing my self because the permanent orders we 99% my exes request.
