Probate case. The first firm we hired was unresponsive, so we had to find a new one. Same thing with the second firm. Finally we hired Sandoval. Megan was responsive, knowledgeable, and most importantly: she actually took our case seriously. She kicked into gear right away to get our dad's house sold before it went to foreclosure. Despite the complexities that were out of her control, she kept the process moving and got through everything in a timely manner, diligently walking us through every step along the way.

After going through my divorce, and being put into a position where I had to go back to court, I decided change attorney’s. I interviewed several attorney’s all over San Diego. Embry Family Law was the perfect fit. Ben, and Cecilia were amazing as my lawyers. Nick, Shyanne, and Daniel were always so easy to get ahold of, get advice from, and schedule meetings with. Ben is extremely knowledgeable in negotiating, and representing his client’s interests. I have been with Embry family law since he took my case in late 2020. I had an extremely difficult fight that had little to NO chance of winning. Due to the difficult circumstances of my story and case I was turned down by multiple top attorneys in the area and by the grace of god Ben without hesitation offered to give it a shot. Prior to Ben I had supervised visitations just moved to New Jersey and my son was in California with his father. Mr Osofsky explains everything very thoroughly, is extremely patient answering all questions, ensures the primary person's wishes are known to him and are being carried out. This includes consulting with our Mom 1:1 with us out of the room to ensure this. He then stayed with us over a long period of time as Mom sorted out her living situation etc. Once he established the correct trust for Mom, he then worked as an intermediary with our CPA. When Mom passed he processed all the paperwork and again served as an intermediary to the government and CPA. He was extremely thorough, professional but personal and empathetic as he worked with us all. He remains up on current law and policy. I highly recommend Mr. Osofsky.

I can’t say enough about this attorney. I came upon a very stressful, overwhelming problem I had to deal with for my dad. The laws and all the things that I can do -I can’t do for him and my mom since I’m the power of attorney so overwhelming. I sought help from Mr. Whittaker when I was served with a civil lawsuit out of the blue. We met and I explained my situation and my side of the story. When I recently found myself in need of legal counsel, Mr. Casiano was recommended to me by a trusted friend. A few years ago, he had helped her and her family with trust and will matters, and she didn't hesitate to send me to him. In addition to Vinnie's prodigious knowledge of wills, trusts and estate planning, his expertise in Elder Law proved to be immensely helpful when the matriarch of the family reached the age where she needed to go to a permanent skilled nursing facility. He guided the family through the confusing realm of Social Security, Medicare and Medi-Cal, and he showed them how to best utilize those programs for the benefit of the lady. Just as importantly, he provided the family with information on how to deal with the sometimes less than helpful nursing home and hospital doctors, administrators and staff, so that their loved one got the best care at the least expense possible. Subsequently, upon her death, Vinnie's legal expertise and actions resulted in maintaining the maximum value of the estate that she was able to bequeath to her children.
The situation I needed Vinnie for was very similar. I had a relative whose health was in steady decline, and I enlisted Vinnie's help in dealing with hospitals, emergency rooms and nursing homes. He was in the process of gaining a conservatorship status for me, when my relative died. At that point, he shifted to helping me with processing a will that was executed by my relative, and with the necessary filings with Probate Court. His advice and counsel have been stellar, and he is helping to move things along expeditiously. He has a genuine desire to treat his clients in a friendly and respectful manner, and his sense of humor helps to blunt some of the inevitable angst that occurs when dealing with legal matters and the court system.
In short, I highly recommend Mr. Casiano to anyone looking for expert legal advice from a highly skilled and knowledgeable attorney.

This is important since there is a lot to consider for Living Wills and Trusts, etc. He also did a great job of working around our schedules and was very flexible. Mortensen & Reinheimer, PC is a great practice to turn to when addressing all the legals matters of family trusts.

We hired Kendall VanConas and this firm to update our estate - they initially said they'd print our documents and give return them to us in a day or two - instead they took weeks just to print copies of our estate documents and only gave them back weeks later after we had to prompt them and ask for them.
After that, we had to continually call and send emails to repeatedly ask when we were going to ever hear from them about our estate planning after our initial meeting in May, we were told their assistant went on vacation so they were behind and would try to catch up soon (but still never heard anything from them after that), weeks went by and again we reached out to ask when things would move forward and were told Kendall had surgery and had "gotten behind" on things in her recovery (We were never told she was out for a medical leave prior to that). We had to contact them again on July 1st only to be told they were all out of the office until after July 8th - this firm doesn't do work, they do billing and make excuses, that's about it.
They also refused to give us notes from the one meeting we had with them - for which we were billed $750 and told, the notes from that meeting were "privy for them" not for us so our request for a recap of our own estate planning meeting was refused.
Do not waste your time with this firm, they have NO incentive to move forward with your project or estate planning, they will take you as a client then sit on your estate planning and DO NOTHING, but bill you for any meetings, then drop the ball, and you will never hear from them again, very unprofessional and our experience with them was completely frustrating and a total waste of our time, as well as costly - as we got nothing from our $750 meeting with them, not even an outline or meeting recap of the notes they took from our estate planning meeting.
They also don't communicate at all, and never told us about the lead attorney's surgery or time out from the office for her recovery - and apparently, no one else in the firm does anything. (They take a full week off for July 4th - the entire firm apparently, as no one responded to our July 1 email as they were all "out of the office until after July 8th). After July 8th we still heard NOTHING. Kendall told us she would follow up with a timeline of our estate planning status the following week, but she never did, and that never happened.
When they had an assistant out of the office that also apparently makes all their work come to a screeching halt - all of this is inexcusable, unprofessional and is a poor representation of a firm that is supposed to be on their game helping people update their estate planning.
You will likely pass away before they ever get to updating your estate - we moved on and found a much better firm that actually does work, and would strongly recommend people stay away from this firm if they need something done in a reasonable time and feel communication is important at all, as this firm doesn't communicate, they make excuses when you reach out because if you hire them, you will be the one doing all the planning and reaching out, they do not do anything at all but sit on your estate planning and watch time go by!
From the first meeting in May until we fired them in July for a span of almost 2 months, we had one meeting, they copied our files and then absolutely nothing else ever happened in moving forward with our estate planning - they never gave us a timeline for getting it done, which we asked about for 3 weeks, but they never provided a timeline because they had no plan to do the work or had decided for some reason due to their incompetence and lack of continuity in their own office and within their staff's capability to take years to do an update on our estate planning.
