From the beginning Chris has been awesome. He has always kept me informed. He doesn't spend any money without asking first. He has set the bar pretty high. This is our first time having to use a lawyer for anything. He is a 10 when is comes to being personable. I have never once felt I didn't understand anything he was telling me. Mr. Stapley is a knight in shining armor! Okay, that may be a bit dramatic, but at the time, I sure felt like he'd come to my rescue. I'm no princess, and the boss I was trying to figure out how to escape was no dragon. She was more like... Cinderella's evil step mother. I taught music at her school. Without an exhaustive retelling of my woeful tale, may it suffice to say my boss made my life completely miserable for about 2 years, and just about killed my love for music. Adding insult to injury, she tried to make it impossible for us to leave and find work elsewhere by forcing me and my fellow teachers there to sign a non-compete contract stating that if our employment at her school was ever terminated, we had to agree not to teach music anywhere in the area she claimed for a year from the day our employment with her was terminated. The contract threatened us with an expensive lawsuit if we were to try to teach anyway. So basically, if we didn't want to work for her anymore, or if she "terminated" our employment herself, we would not be able to work in our profession for a year unless we moved to a different city. (The area she claimed was better than 50 miles around!) Mr. Stapley consulted with me and reviewed her contract, confirming that her contract was not only ridiculous, it was not legally binding. He gave me the tools I needed to walk into her office and quit with confidence, knowing I'd be safe from her threats afterwards. Because of Mr. Stapley's assitance, I escaped! I am now very happily employed and rediscovering what I love at a different music school!

Mark was very thorough in explaining what to expect in this case. He stopped at our home 3-4 times during the litigation period and was always very personable and helpful answering questions, providing information, whether in person, phone or online. I hired Ms. Nañez when I was having issues with not being able to see my daughter after repeated court order violation on behalf of her mother. She was able to present a strong and damming case to the courts that got the games to stop on her mom's part. The case was so well presented and organized that the judge also ordered some very strong penalties if she were to violate again. I am VERY satisfied with the work she did for me and given the chance/necessity, I would hire her again! The one negative thing I would say is she refuses to give up on that old laptop of hers, that thing needs to be put out to pasture... If you hire her, ask her about it.

We had an extremely complex Chapter13 case. Filing bankruptcy was an extremely agonizing decision but hiring Platt and Westby to represent us was probably the smartest decision I’ve ever made. I honestly have no words for what it was like to work with Lisa. During our adoption experience we hit many bumps and road blocks along the way. I think we experienced everything one could go through while doing an adoption. Lisa was there with us through everything. She would call and check in, even if she had no news to report, and she always kept us informed of the latest news. She would call until we answered and if we didn't answer she would email. There was never a point when I felt she was too busy to deal with our concerns or questions. She is helpful and kind and supportive. After while we no longer saw Lisa as just our lawyer but also our friend. We are so happy to have worked with her and we look forward to working with her again in the future.

I can't tell you enough about Lisa. She's wonderful. She's competent. She's compassionate, more than reasonably priced, and does her clients good. Lisa handled an adoption case for me which required obtaining consent from the biological parents. One was willing, the other was not. Lisa's patience in working with the not-so-willing parent was at tremendous help over the months it took to get the consent. In the end, however, the adoption case went without a hitch, finalizing about 14 months after starting the whole process. I will be forever grateful for all the work and efforts Lisa did on our behalf.

Liz worked every angle in order to argue the case for back support which usually is not given. She is amazingly smart and energetic. Liz and her team handled my divorce from day one. She was up front and honest right from my first consultation as to what to expect throughout the process. She was aggressive in working with my ex-husband and forced his hand to get an attorney when he started to play games with us. She worked to get me the settlement my son and I deserved. Unfortunately we ended up in court but she was able to negotiate in the last minutes before meeting with the judge to get the settlement. The way she presented our settlement to the judge showed her knowledge of the case. While my ex-husband's attorney fumbled to even get our names correct. Liz's paralegal was also an asset to me and answered many questions and was helpful in getting the appropriate forms and documents filed. I've referred her to a friend of mine who was also very satisfied with the settlement of her divorce. He knows the law and how to navigate through difficult opposition and circumstances. I've shopped around for family court attorneys in 2019, they all seemed unreasonable and extravagant with their court fee estimates. Mr Onyia was the only one who seemed honest, fair and reasonable. Cosmas Onyia recently represented us in a custody matter. Throughout the process, Cosmas was detailed in his explanation of what to expect. He guided us thru the process and was very timely with responses to any questions we had. He would either answer immediately or within 24 hours. Given that he was brought into the case late after poor representation by another council, Cosmas picked up the pieces in short notice and put forth a vigorous case on our behalf. As one might imagine, these type of cases are often quite emotional at times. Ours was no different. When things got upsetting, Cosmas helped to keep us focused and see the bigger picture. Cosmas was very aggressive on our behalf and set forth a determined argument that was presented in an organized expert manner. The opposing council was so out matched by Cosmas that at times we almost felt sorry for the other side. If you have any need for a family lawyer, you would be foolish not to entrust Cosmas to be your council.

Mike, Karen and Kailee are truly the best of the best. Mike's dedication to his clients is second to none. Mike and his staff take a personal interest in their clients more than I imagine a lot of other attorneys/staff do. He doesn't give up and will do whatever it takes to get the best outcome for his clients. His staff is a direct extension of him. They care and will help in anyway they can, going way above and beyond. I was not the easiest client by any means and they helped me through the whole process without ever casting judgement. I was already divorced, but wanted to move out of state to Texas with my 4 year old son. Mike made it possible. He is a bulldog on a case, he was totally willing to go all the way and nothing slipped by him, he made my move happen. My ex husband filed an emergency temporary order the day before I was set to leave Arizona. We had 3 or 4 court appearances both in person and over the phone and every time Mike made sure we came out of it ahead. My ex kept completely ignoring court orders, so we would refile with more changes to the agreement and win. He is absolutely wonderful to work with, in fact I found this website looking for his contact information since a friend of mine needs a divorce attorney. I have recommended him twice before to other friends / family.

She made the process of divorce so easy. Due to the nature of the case(Domestic violence and children involved) her experience really reassured me. I appreciated that she was always just an email away and if I needed to schedule some time to actually talk over the phone about something she was usually able to get me in fairly quickly. She didn't use legal jargon, instead she made sure to explain the process in a way I was able to understand. I would not have been able to go through this process alone and Esther was the best choice in representation. After completing work for the counties they did not pay us for the work yet we were being taxed for it and subsequently end up falling behind. That means a lot to a small business attorney Ellison was fair his costs was reasonalve. He communicated all actions of the litigation and informed us of what to expect after the litigation. In 2018 I was facing a severance case. Steven was upfront about the whole process, gave me all the options laid out plainly. He was always there, answered all my question. He took the time to build a strong case and in 2019 the other party motioned to dismiss. He called me immediately and told me to file in family court for parenting time. I have been working with Family Law Attorney, Tali Collins, for 2 years, and she is by far the best attorney that I have worked with for ongoing family law litigation. She is very approachable, knows her legal material, is detail- orientated, has an amazing memory, knows lots of helpful resources and her fees are very reasonable.
I have worked with many attorneys who have similar skills, but want you to hire them and are not great with working with the client that wants to self represent. Because I don't have the financial resources for a retainer, Ms. Collins has worked with me in preparing legal documents, preparing for hearings, and organizing and finding exhibits. She knows what individual judges want, so I feel like I am ahead of the game and know what to expect and how to prepare when I go to the hearing.
Recently, Tali Collins helped me prepare for my latest Parenting Time Modification Hearing and I feel more prepared than I did when I hired an attorney to represent me at the last one, and it saved me thousands of dollars. Ms. Collins knows all aspects of family law and I don't think I could have worked with anyone who could prepare me as much as she has.
I am so grateful that I found Ms. Collins, she has been an immense resource for me and has been so "spot on" with helping me in past hearings and litigation. This has been a great fit for me, and I even look forward to meeting with her. I have worked with many attorneys who have similar skills, but want you to hire them and are not great with working with the client that wants to self represent. I would classify my divorce as really messy. But it didn't start that way. My ex wife and I entered into a decree together by agreeing to what anyone would deem as a good deal for both of us and then within a few months she wanted more, like a lot more. She wanted my pension, more alimony, more child support (which I already was deviating UP) and that is just to name a few. Basically she wanted to have a "take me to the cleaners party' So without knowing anything about him I hired Jonathan Brooks. I was worried because I had actually gone above and beyond to take care of my ex even though two of our daughters were living with me. And had I lost the case it would have really hampered my ability to live. What worried me the most is that I kept great records and I needed a lawyer who could understand exactly what I was saying --- No I didn't hide any money and here is my proof. No she agreed to not take the pension and here is the proof. No her claim of not knowing anything about the finances is wrong and here is why. Yes she had access to all the finances despite her sayings she didn't and here is the proof. Yes she is lying about this and this and this and here is the proof. There was a lot for my attorney to learn and I mean a lot. But he was thorough with his notes and that is what I needed. Someone who could make the judge understand what I knew. I had three priorities 1) keep the alimony the same 2) keep my pension 3) keep the financial arrangement the same. Due to Jonathan's hard work the judge denied my ex wife's motion for a new trial and I won my case. We went to mediation on a few minor issues and I was totally happy with the result of those. In a nutshell I thought I won in a landslide. My lawyer was just better than her lawyer. I would be willing to speak with any of you if you have a question and I am sure Jonathan knows who I am so if anyone asks for a reference from this post and goes through Jonathan i would be more than willing to give you more information but because of what I do for a living I am going to keep this post anonymous. But to close I was completely satisfied with the results I had using Jonathan Brooks and you would be wise to consider him for your divorce.

I hired John in 2009 for a messy divorce. There were many complex issues to handle including: custody, cps orders of neglect, domestic violence, and military pay. John knew exactly what to do. He was familiar with everything and was professional the entire time. I was able to receive joint custody of my kids without having to pay spousal maintenance or alimony. John's legal assistants are great as well. They are good with communication and professional. If you have the money, John should be your choice for a divorce attorney.
