If you’re reading this review it means you or a loved one is going through a rough time, and you are weighting your options. My family and I also were in a similar situation. They made the decision to trust in Kimberly Berry and the legal team at Lawson & Berry and it was not the wrong one. She fought for me TWICE and won. She is the reason why I am able to post this review today and give her and her staff such high praise. Balean and Kristy kept me sane during the hardest year of my life and I am forever grateful.
I was too nervous to reach out to a divorce lawyer even though it was well past time, so a friend of mine who is a lawyer in another area talked me into it and recommended these two personally. I can't say enough good things so I'll try and break it down into the things that are/were important to me in a divorce.
They are NOT pushy. I was so nervous the first call, I did not want to get a divorce. I even (politely) told them I hope we don't ever need to talk again. They were extremely supportive. Not one single time did either of them push me towards a divorce. They answered all my questions honestly and thoughtfully and I never felt rushed.
On the flip side of that, they are also very cognizant that their time is expensive. So for me, it is very hard to find a lawyer who is constantly aware of running up your tab, but personable enough to trust them and not feel like just another check in the spreadsheet. On top of that, I have ADHD so I can get off on a tangent with the best of them. Both Kristy and Balean we're very good at redirecting me into the areas that mattered and pushing me though the areas that didn't without letting me get hung up on them.
They are extremely prompt (during business hours, I cant speak to otherwise because I don't expect people to work 24/7), I don't think I ever waited a full day for a reply. You WILL feel like a priority. Which frankly with how being a lawyer works, is pretty remarkable.
They know their stuff. I don't know a better way to put that. And if they don't know, they make it a priority to find out. I had a few odd snafus with property issues and a few (lets say less than reasonable) demands from my now ex, and if I had a question they tracked it down if they weren't already sure.
They are generally fun and calming presences. Mediation went for a full day, so Balean was trapped in a room with me for probably 12 straight hours. And if you aren't aware (i certainly wasn't), mediation is very much hurry up and wait. When we had the mediator, it was 100% business. When she was in the other room, we walked through everything we needed to discuss, got advice, and then were able to relax and recharge a bit before the next turn. As you can imagine, its an emotional time. I went from needing to pace the hallways angry to bouncing off the walls bored to everything in between and not once did Balean get even slightly irritated with me. They are VERY aware that you're going though something and that while we need to be efficient there also needs to be room for you to be a person with feelings and needs.
So if you don't read all of that, the important bits are they are going to make you a priority and you'll feel like it, they will not run up your bill for no reason and will be honest when they think something may do so, they give you grace to be going though something hard, while also getting you though it in a prompt and efficient and competent manner. I absolutely would not even consider another legal team if these guys are available. I can't speak highly enough of this firm.

Lynn Goldman handled my adoption from foster care. I was first given her name a year ago by a colleague whose husband recommended her. Before I was even a client, she took the time to explain some court procedures to me. Later on, I saw her name on a list of suggested lawyers for my case and I immediately chose her. My divorce was not particularly complex but my wife hired a top-tier lawyer who has a reputation for shenanigans. I interviewed quite a few attorneys but only Charles had the experience and character to navigate dynamic legal challenges without resorting to dirty tactics. Charles established and maintained a firm and respectful strategy that was sound from the start. We not only settled more favorably than id even hoped for, something he very much had to coach me through, we did so without creating animosity. My xwife and I are now in a healthy coparenting relationship and we are all happily moving on to our next chapter of life.

Tired of her unethical actions towards, a loved ones case in Cobb county, as a public defender. I have been dealing with this lawyer for over a year and she has visited my family member 1 time and knows nothing about his cases. I call for updates she has hung up on me or more than 2 occasions. Everyone deserves her to handle their cases for the best possible outcome per the state bar. This lawyer is also on social media making videos,when she could be studying my family members case. Less than 1 star and will be taking this review further until justice is served according to the codes of conduct as an attorney in the state of GA

This has been a road with this lawyer as I would give her less than 1 star if I could because of the way she has treated my family member in their court case in Cobb county. Instead of admitting she knows nothing about his cases (felony) & her YSL case is her priority she denies and lies as if she has visited when it is documented that she has not but once. Every case she takes or is assigned to, deserve a fair chance of representation & the oath states that she is supposed to “adhere to all articles of conduct while working tirelessly for the best possible outcome.” When I call to ask about updates she is rude. A life should be her concern paid or not! I will be complaining to state bar as this matter has been ongoing with her for over 1 year with her unprofessional manner.

Will Davis was an absolute ACE in defending me through absurd and relentless claims in a custody case I was blindsided by. As dramatic as the title is, Mr. Davis did just that. I was in the divorce of hell! Not to mention a custody battle that included IVF. The question was if the baby that I carried via RIVF( carried wife’s egg) was legally mine. As the state of Georgia does not legitimate children born of IVF, I was told that I was a biological stranger to my children. Like the child that was cut out of my uterus could be taken away from me as well as our son that was born a month before marriage. My life was literally being ripped apart! Mr. Davis did not offer any promises but assured me that we would take this thing head on. He did just that I was granted 50/50 custody to both of my children and child support. He’s a godsend! I’m forever grateful. Not to mention he always answered all of my frantic calls, emails, and text messages. Thank you again!

Followed all his recommendations and after serving the so called mental rehab facility with a formal petition to discharge my husband on a Friday at 455 pm and multiple hours of patiently waiting for my motion to be received by an employee that never gave it to him..
Guess what happened??
The same medical staff that said to my husband that petition won’t do anything called me the very next day at 9am stating that my husband was going to be discharged in a couple of minutes..
FOLLOW ALL HIS RECOMMENDATIONS! Yes the motion was one of the recommendations but some other magical touches expedited everything but I will let him share that with you as he knows what he’s doing and will definitely provide you with the best advice.

What can I say. When I 1st went up to the office Adam was there a long with his team. And they IMMEDIATELY made me feel like family. Having to go through probate and a court appointed administrator I had to deal with a lot of different lawyers. Nothing compares to the way Adam and his team were. I NEVER had a problem getting him or anyone on the phone or an email response. Mind you I had given up because my case was turnt down by multiple lawyers. Kristen walked me through the entire legal process and gave me a timeline of events that would occur during my case. Unfortunately I cannot speak highly of Attorney Jerome. I have a hard time getting a hold of him. I would leave voicemails and email him only to not get any responses. He sent me some paperwork days after they were due. No apologies. I showed up for a calendar call today. He never showed. Another client of Serge Gerome is here right now too. I found out from her that he's in Douglasville for another trial. So why was I not made aware of this? Even the judge didn't know. So unprofessional.
