Datz Law Firm seemed to be OVERLY honest throughout the whole process and sometimes dealing with other big firms can be scary as I heard they can nickel and dime you for everything. Michelle took on my disability case (when she was handling disability cases) after I was diagnosed with a rare lung disease. Never in my life have I had a lawyer fight so hard and with such passion on my behalf! She was dedicated, extremely knowledgeable, hard working, and professional. She always returned my calls almost immediately and knew my case and my specific health diagnoses better then some of my own doctors. I was completely blown away. After receiving a settlement with a different attorney, the numbers did not add up. Unfortunately I was not getting any response from our lawyer. With the help of Michelle Ciccone she reviewed the contract, settlement agreement and was able to help me through all of the legal terms. She assisted me with the drafting of letters to our attorney who was involved in our settlement. In the end Michelle helped us get what we deserved and kept us informed of our rights. Thanks to Michelle this matter has now been resolved, I just wish we could of had her as our first representing attorney in our matter. She is kind, responsive and very knowledgeable. Helped my mom with her divorce. I'm not sure what all the detailes were, but one day she took me in with her so I can see what it's like to talk to a lawyer. He was super nice, and treated me like an adult. He let me look over some paperwork and explained to me what different things ment. His office seemed to run smoothly, and I know her handled her divorce in an effiecient way.

I could not be more happy with my choice to hire Kevin Major and his Paralegal, Christine. I hired them from out of state to represent myself and my child. I was always informed every step of the way. Kevin and Christine always made me feel like I was their only client. Kevin is an honest and fair attorney. Kevin Major is a fantastic person and it translates into his work as a lawyer. When I needed the services of a lawyer, I searched and interviewed many potential candidates. I didn't have a lot of money and I didn't want to hire somebody who was an unfeeling, cutthroat lawyer. Although I didn't want to have to go through the particular situation I was in, I also wasn't interested in destroying the other party. Kevin's approach to my case was exactly the same as mine, and that's why I hired him. In a court system that doesn't always make much sense, filled with sharks and others who want to do you wrong, Kevin rises above the fray and gives a person reason to continue believing in the system. Against ridiculous odds, the outcome of my case was more favorable to me than I could have imagined -- I attribute that to some kind of good karma based on his common sense approach and desire to seek-out right from wrong without wanting to inflict undue harm on any parties. He worked with my financial situation to enable me the time I needed to get on my feet. I am very grateful to Kevin and Christine for the generous effort they provided me and the excellent results. I still consult Kevin as circumstances change and continue to validate that he is one of the "good guys." I wouldn't hesitate to consult with and then hire Kevin, he is an amazing person, and lawyer.

I cannot recommend Sarah enough! No one wants to have to deal with family court issues, but if you do, this is absolutely the law firm to use! Throughout the entire process, Sarah was knowledgeable, kind, empathetic, organized, and realistic. My emails/calls were always answered quickly, and Sarah was always clear and honest as far as what to expect, giving her advice while also listening to my concerns. My only regret is I didn't use her when I first got divorced, haha...this was for a bunch of post-decree stuff, that unfortunately went allllll the way to a hearing. In the courtroom, Sarah was clearly much more prepared than the other counsel, organized, and had made sure I was very clear on what to expect/do, and you can tell she is smart, quick, (and also tough as she cross-examines!) I ended up getting not just everything I wanted, but extra things I didn't expect as well. However, even the outcome was less than that, I would still be recommending her, because of how helpful and amazing she and her staff were for the entire years-long process leading up to this. She was also fair in her billing, (and didn't let the other party or my witness run extra time on the billing clock.) I hope you never need a family attorney, but if you do, this is the one to use.

My husband hired Michael for a very complex child custody case with his ex wife. We worked with Michael for 3 years because of the complexity of the case, and continued unnecessary filings on the the ex wife's side. Him and his paralegal, Benjamin, held our hands the entire way through the process. They were very attentive and responsive when we had questions. They were very knowledgable about case law, and how we could get the best outcome. In the end, my husband won the case and got pretty much everything he requested because Michael put together a solid case that could not be refuted. Katherine is a fantastic attorney, and one I would recommend to anyone struggling with a family law issue. I hired Susan Halloran to represent me concerning a difficult divorce case, and was more than pleased with the results, and Susan made sure that I was treated fairly. Then when I was accused of criminal mischief by my wife, during my divorce process, Susan handled that issue as well. She kept me from needing 2 attorneys. And when I was arrested as a result, Susan dropped what she was doing and immediately, got me out of jail. If that wasn’t enough, she also represented me on a separate case where crossing timelines/court dates of both cases could have caused me to violate a probationary period.
This whole event was going on in conjunction with my having a life changing medical issues. Susan made me focus on the help she needed from me. Susan had this huge jigsaw puzzle to put together, along the way, her patient mentorship of me, and her attention to detail made all the difference. I had 2 major surgeries during that timeframe. And Susan was patient kind and was a calming influence. She multitasked in a way which resulted in my vindication within several court systems, simultaneously.
Susan a no-nonsense, exceedingly hard, working attorney. She proved to me what a huge Heart she has. She stuck with me, and never quit.
My opinion is that if you hire an attorney because they are a go getter, hard worker, and you are counting on that person to resolve your problem.
Then you must also expect that they will need you to contribute to your defense. And if that process fails, so can your case.
Contributing to my case made all the difference. One cannot just pay an attorney and expect them to do it all on their own. Susan should be charging much more than she does, however she cares about her clients, and I can tell you that she did much more work than she charged me for. And also let me do some footwork, that saved her time and lessened my fees. I felt cared about…
My retainer was spent quickly, because it was used to fulfill court requirements in setting up my case. I imagine that’s why they refer to it as a retainer. I got expert help, but wasn’t charged as such. The way Susan streamlined all these issues within several court cases, simultaneously, saved me thousands of dollars. And she kept an innocent man out of jail, and put his life back into the most manageable financial condition possible.
That being said, I can tell you from my perspective that I was impressed by Susan’s level of organization, professionalism, as well as her attention to detail. (I am Retired IT/IBM). Susan is a fair honest and loyal Attorney with a Huge Heart. I can say that I trust her, and if she specializes in a service that I require in the future, I will hire her immediately.
This whole series of events spanned 2+ years. 2 years of hell, that Susan got me through and somehow made it all a bit more bearable.

Ms Halloran represented our family during a difficult time when options were serious and confusing. Ms Halloran's expertise brought us the best possible results. Working with her was reassuring, as it was evident our case was as important to her as it was to us. I know she spent more time on our case than she listed. She was easy to contact, very direct, and genuinely cared- but not the kind of attorney to pat your hand and let you go on and on about your “feelings”.....while the bill gets bigger, and she doesn’t waste time just “saying” what you want to hear but gets straight to the important business and keeps things on track- redirecting conversations to what is necessary to resolve the case. She identified inaccurate information in court documents and got them corrected. At times, she was more determined than we were, to get things resolved in our favor. She was tough... towards me when it was needed, and tougher on the opposing party, which is more important than I realized at the time. I will definitely call her again if a need arises and highly recommend her! Her work is more than worthy of her very fair fees.

Mr Gilbertson is amazing at what he can do in the court room. I used him as my divorce attorney and he was able to get me more than I could have asked for in the settlement. He is seriously hard headed but it works for him and he did not back down at all in court which was a huge benefit for me. I will be using him in the future if the need arises.

He was supportive, knowledgeable and gave personal service. Sometimes was difficult to get in touch with as he is a sole-proprietor and not always at the office. Expects his clients to keep their end of the stick as well. Has alot of business savvy as well so he probably has litigated in other areas besides family law. Overall, a good experience!

Most expensive lawyer I've ever encountered. We provided a 5k retainer only for Randy to work 1.3 hours on a few phone calls. He charged us $3,258.86 to resolve nothing. On top of that his team gave me the run around for a week just to get a refund of the remaining retainer. A contractor placed a lien on my property. I hired an attorney that did me wrong. Spoke with several attorneys who wouldn't handle because it was too small of case. Called Craig and he was happy to help. Because of a biased judge making a biased ruling against me, we had no choice but to go all the way to the state appeals court. We won the appeal (which also stated the lower court was wrong in their decision) due to Craig's great arguments contained in the motions of my defense. After the win from the appeals court, we were able to eventually settle the case rather than going to trial. Though it was a very long process, due to no fault of Craig's, I ultimately recovered some of the money I was due. Wouldn't have happened without Craig. If you have a civil situation, would recommend you call Craig!
