Peter Garin is an ineffective Child and Family Investigator (CFI) with an aggressive and abusive investigation style. He was court-appointed and began by interviewing my son. The initial meeting was marked by aggressive and abusive questioning. My son and his now ex-wife struggled to agree on parenting issues. Mr. Garin failed to ask probing questions, resorting instead to general inquiries. Each of his interviews lasted between 8 to 25 minutes, while he conducted a lengthy interview with the other party that lasted over 2 hours.
He visited our home for only 10 minutes and then left.

Peter Garin is a terrible CFI with an aggressive and abusive investigation style. Although, I was the person who hired him, he spoke to the other party first. Instead of speaking to me about my concerns, my first meeting with him was an aggressive, abusive interrogation where he threatened me with jail time. My 13 year old son had been refusing to engage in parenting time with his father, Mr. Garin immediately blamed me and dismissed my son's mental health records and his therapist's reports of PTSD. When interviewing my son, Mr. Garin told him "it's OK for people to drink and drive as long as they are not under the influence" although we had a specific court order to not consume alcohol during parenting time. My son's father has had open containers of alcohol in his vehicle multiple times with the children in the car. Mr. Garin ignored the alcohol abuse, ignored the mental health aspect of our case, vilified my son's safe parent in his report and never investigated in a neutral way. When I checked his report for bias, using chat GPT, the entire section interviewing myself and my contacts were biased negatively and the entire section interviewing the other party and his contacts were biased positively. I do not recommend him if you are looking for a true unbiased investigation.

Looks like my review was unfairly taken down....guess this firm wants to keep my families experience hush hush. I TESTIFIED in court on behalf of my brother and the custody over my two nieces, we had two family meetings with Tyler plus I sent him a very long and lengthy email in November of 2023 that he never replied to yet charged my father $350 to read, which I don't believe he even read my email. So if this firm is trying to claim my review is not valid because I didn't hire Tyler myself they are incorrect!!! I was a part of this entire journey so for Google to take down my review after this firm reported it is not OK as I was involved with this case from beginning to end.- so here is my review again!!!! ZERO stars!!!! My father and brother hired Tyler Lambert to help my brother win his custody battle with his two young daughters. Tyler many times was very hard to get in touch with and would ignore phone calls over and over again. I kept telling my dad and brother that they needed to hire a new attorney because Tyler did not have my brothers best interest at heart. I wish they would've taken me a little more seriously however they felt they had invested so much money in him already that they stuck by him. Tyler showed no evidence in court to help my brother out... We submitted text messages, social media posts, conversations, photos of our family over the last 16 years with my brothers daughters, etc...Tyler used none of it in court. He had so much proof on my ex sister in law and how her attorney was blowing everything out of proportion plus evidence that could have made my brother's ex look really bad and prove she's a liar - but Tyler provided none of it and when they were claiming untrue statements about my brother he didn't object, not one time!!!! Tyler told all of us that were testifying on the stand that we needed to "be nice" and say "nice things" about my ex sister in law and that we should NOT provide any family photos as this judge doesn't like seeing family photos. Meanwhile the other side TRASHED my brother and they also showed a ton of photos - clearly Tyler's advice was the worst we could have taken. The end result were my nieces moving away with their mother to Illinois and pinning my brother as a bad father. He's an amazing father. He just has a bitter and scorned ex-wife that wanted to hurt him so badly that she used her own children for leverage. Do not hire Tyler if you are going through a custody battle with children... He does not care and will not show proof and documentation of what you give him to help your case out. He basically collected a paycheck and nothing more. Now my brother's daughters are in a fatherless environment because he failed to do his job properly. I WILL CONTINUE TO REPOST REVIEWS IF THIS ONE IS TAKEN DOWN - THIS EXPERIENCE WAS MY EXPERIENCE FIRSTHAND WITH TYLER!!!!!

James Cordes provided terrible advice. His drafting was sloppy and required extensive redrafting by opposing counsel, and he advised me to take a terrible deal. Because of James, I am taking home a fraction of my income. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize how bad it was until firing him and employing new counsel. He is a nice man, but a bad lawyer. I wish I had gotten a second opinion before it was too late.

I was accused of a crime that threatened my reputation, my freedom, and my professional role when an embittered adolescent with social-emotional needs falsely accused me of physical assault. Having had very limited exposure to criminal proceedings previously, I had no idea what to expect and was, to say the least, terrified. I hired Mariah partially because of the good reviews here. I would however caution against others doing the same. My case was very simple and she intentionally dragged things into long expensive war with my ex. She constantly battled my exes lawyer on things that didn't matter and ignored the only things I said were important. I think she ended up on the losing side of every exchange she had with my exes more experienced lawyer. She took what should have been an easy case and made it difficult and expensive and did irreparable damage to my relationship with my ex whom I am trying to remain civil with. Maybe it's simply the norm for lawyers in this field to care more about their own interests than the families that hire them but I feel like entrusting her with my case was a mistake.

I am a CPA that frequently prepares income tax returns for estates and trusts. Patrick is the outstanding attorney who has prepared wills and trusts for my family. He also handled my mother's probate in a thorough and efficient way. I have referred numerous clients to Patrick, and they have always been pleased. First of all, I would like to state that I am somewhat familiar with lawyers. I have been in business 19 years and during the course of that time I have engaged many attorneys for mergers and acquisitions, financial counseling, legal disputes with the State of Texas, HR related matters, contract negotiations, and litigation. Having said that, I am not an expert nor a novice.
In19 years, I have never worked with a legal group that is more disorganized, incompetent, and ignorant of basic financials. What is apparent with this organization is they focus on the billing more than the service. I am not one to argue fees provided there is a demonstration of competence and integrity. Unfortunately, you will not find it with this firm
It would appear that the Dadvocates and Samera were once competent and respectable if you look at the reviews. However, I would encourage you to look at current reviews. Most are quite poor and this should discourage you from engaging with them.
I sincerely hope that this law firm considers these reviews b/c they have fallen from grace and should seriously contemplate dismissing Samera and her team.

I intended to write this review a while back, but have been busy. My case was hopeless. My ex had my son. I couldnt afford to live in Colorado. Somehow he made it possible with a CFI and I gained temporary primary parenting time. I dont know where we would be without Mr. Grills. Though my son and I have needed counseling to get through the circumstances for the thigs that happened. It would be far worse wih Michael. My family is forever indebted to him. The amount it cost to hire him is more than worth it.

Matt Walker represented me for 3 misdemeanor DV charges in Jefferson County. He heard my case and told me not to take the plea deal. With his help my case was Dismissed before trial.
Matt was there to walk me through every step. If I needed him he was always just a text away and would call as soon as he was available.
He suggested to meet as the trial got closer, not to go over anything but to calm my nerves as this was my first time in any sort of trouble.
He never made me feel rushed and listened to all concerns. He is also a huge LGBTQ advocate which for my case was essential.
I can’t recommend Matt enough and will forever be thankful for him and know if I ever needed counsel again he’s there.

I called Matt about a dispute with my neighbor who had mailed me a letter threatening legl action. Matt met me for coffee the same day I called him. When we met, he reviewed my letter and other documentation. Then he actually called the neighbor on my behalf, while I sat there, and worked everything out. It was amazing. When I offered to pay Matt for his time--he pointed out that he had only spent about thirty minutes to resolve my issue--so no charge. Matt is real and Matt is awesome.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the team of people over at Kalamaya Goscha, especially the services of Ms. Georgina Melbye. Since the very beginning of my DUI case, she was there making sure that I felt comfortable and in the know with everything going on. Being that it was my very first court case ever, the whole process felt pretty scary and overwhelming. Having Georgina there made everything clearer, less confusing, and and overall just took a lot of anxiety off my plate. When it came to the sentencing of my case, instead of simply settling on the normal sentence the judge would typically address in this scenario, Georgina spent months and months fighting to get me a better plea deal from the DA. In the end, she did exactly that, and I am so grateful. She is professional, she works hard for her clients, and most importantly she is just really good people. Easy to communicate with, straightforward, nonjudgemental and compassionate. I can’t thank Georgina and the entire team and Kalamaya Goscha enough for their time and services through such a scary and uncomfortable time. Jason was able to get my DUI case looked at as a first offense and not a second offense that the court had put forth. With that he was also able to get the other charges dropped and was able to get me my property back. Short of a full dismissal of the charges Jason accomplished the best case scenario for me.
He was professional and detailed with his answers and he truly cared about the out come of the case. He worked along side me to allow for time to complete the stipulations associated with the charge.

After doing an initial consultation with Lyndsay in regards to a child support dispute, I felt very confident that Lyndsay was the right attorney for the job. The family court system is very subjective and tough to navigate. Lyndsay handled my case like the expert in the field that she is.
