I got in my first major car accident last year in November and it was a major blow financially and emotionally for me because it wasn't my fault at all and I had no idea where to turn too for legal help. By the grace of God my fiancee's coworker suggested this law firm for my case because he had such a good experience with them and let me tell you he wasn't lying. Throughout the whole process so far they have been so helpful and nice making this traumatic experience for me so much easier to get through. While recovering from my injury they even sent little care packages! Me and my fiancee thought that was so nice of them, For them to go out of there way to do that for us. I have full confidence in them resolving my case and hopefully this review helps someone else reach out to get the help and compensation they deserve as well. Like most of us, I met multiple lawyers prior to selecting one to handle my divorce and custody of three children. I knew it would be contentious and needed someone willing to take on the fight and unexpected allegations. From the day I met Chris, I knew he was the right personality. His calm demeanor portrays a confidence necessary in the court room and handling complex negotiations with OC. I unfortunately had the pleasure of not one, but two instances of trial prep in Chris's office and really appreciated the thoroughness of his preparation and the inclusion of his staff. I genuinely feel I benefited from the full team environment at the firm, I needed the support and persistent follow-up! I ended up being sued twice and each time Chris handled it with complete professionalism, maturity and assurance knowing exactly how to handle each situation. Most importantly, I always felt I could tell Chris exactly how I was feeling and he did the same for me. There were no pretenses, which I find important in a client-attorney relationship. This helped when we were thrown the proverbial 'curve-ball' and had to respond often on the stand with no advance warning. Prompt and courteous service.
My title insurance company had retained Rathbun Bateman to file a lawsuit to correct my deed. This isn't as adverse as it sounds; the relief we sought was merely for the seller to sign and notarize a deed correction of mistakes made by the real estate attorney who drafted the original deed. We only resorted to filing a lawsuit after the title claim representive had reached out to the seller multiple times, but she didn't respond. The lawsuit enabled us to, based on the evidence, to get my deed corrected whether she cooperated or not. It wasn't adversarial to the seller; we just wanted the right thing to be done, so it wouldn't complicate future sales of the property.
Mr. Bateman was courteous and sympathetic to both parties and was able to calmly and gently explain to the seller that there was no need for her to panic, as all we wanted was for her fix something that wasn't her fault, but only her notarized signature could fix. She complied with the request and Mr. Batemen expeditiously moved the court for a final order and dismissal for the convenience of all parties.
Now that my deed has been corrected, it no longer presents a possible barrier to future title settlements, insurance claims, or matters where the property could serve as collateral.

I have had the distinct pleasure of being the recipient of Cory Goriup’s expert legal counsel since 2003.
In 1999, I ill advisedly completed divorce proceedings without seeking legal representation. As a result, I was legally bound to an unfavorable judgment that severely limited access to my then, five year old daughter.
