Kali is that needle in the haystack that you are looking for everywhere - very hard to find a lawyer like her between all the hay that is around here.
I have been working with Kali for over a year on a family court case about the best interest of our child and have been successful in every one of my requests because of her. I was denied in my long term disability claim by an insurance company. I was recommended another law firm with who I was familiar with. The lawyer listened to our explanation and told us it didn’t sound promising, but to send the supporting documentation. A few days later I received an email from the lawyer stating I had NO appeal left.
I felt I needed a second opinion. Not having another recommendation, I searched the internet and came across Michael
Quiat. Mike had a wealth of experience and seemed like a seasoned professional. We spoke to him on the phone and he was very sympathetic to our plight and seemed very enthusiastic about our chances on appeal. In a nutshell, without the need to mention names I initially went to a good experienced veteran lawyer and was surprised when he lost his confidence in our family's case and suddenly wanted to settle for less (basically to convince us to settle case for personal property damages only). Then we met Kristen & she believed in our case. Kristen took over the case, worked on it diligently, and eventually hit a home run. She was very bright and did a great job in handling our case. Just not the type of attorney who should have handled my case in this lifetime, hopefully he'll think twice before stepping into other sectors of law that he has no place being in next time the opportunity comes his way and stick to what he knows best, defending criminals. Which there's nothing wrong with that, just victim advocate attorneys are very different from criminal defense attorneys and the two should not cross paths. There's a reason you have different lawyers, because cases are meant to be handled differently and a victim's case should be handled completely differently from a retaliation TRO case. There's people who use TROs and there's people who need TROs and FROs, that's why they have special attorneys that work with the population I am a part of, survivors of DV and SA.

Brent is a very calm grounded individual. When I first sat down with him, he listened, and after asking questions, he positioned a direction on how to proceed. We went to court several times and each time he was relaxed and advised me prior to the proceedings.
I feel he was fair and just, and he always let me know there were alternatives and advised me well.
