I had a great experience with Barbara Cowen during a dark time in my life. Divorce for a man is a scary time, but Mrs Cowen made me feel very comfortable and confident throughout the process. She has so much experience and compassion in dealing with the divorce process. Mrs Cowen truly wanted was best for my daughter. Another great part was the communication with her assistant Rose, she was great to talk to and got back to me with any questions I had, quickly. The whole process from start to finish was less than 2 months and fairly priced. So yes, Highly recommended!

Mr Davies is compassionate, hardworking, and excellent negotiation. He helped negotiate a consent agreement with my highschool girlfriend who hit me with a huge surprise childsupport order after 13.5 years and would not allow me to see my son. She made up nasty lies and sent threats to my wife and I. He helped me have fair terms so I could take care of my current wife and kids. Now age 23 my son who doesn't want a relationship wants a 6th and 7th year of college paid for. I am using Mr Davies again because he is the best at what he does. He helped me prepare a sound a clear argument and I'm certain he will help me win. Thank you Mr Davies for all your hardwork and for protecting my family!!!

There are no words to truly express how grateful I am that I met and hired Mr. Davies. My situation was a particularly difficult one as my ex had an addiction and moved out of state and getting him to respond to anything was difficult. Not to mention our daughter was 10 at that time. When you are going through a difficult time and looking for an attorney at the same time, it is extremely overwhelming. I went for several consultations, and honestly not one of them provided me with the insight that Mr. Davies did. He is honest, truthful and fair. I had a challenging experience working with David Torchin in the past, who was our court-appointed Parent Coordinator. Mr. Torchin was assigned to help my ex-wife and I resolve disputes regarding the upbringing of our children. Unfortunately, he canceled our meetings on short notice multiple times and even double-booked our initial appointment, leaving us waiting in his in his waiting room for some time before informing us we needed to reschedule, as his other client took priority.
During our sessions, I found Mr. Torchin to be unprofessional. He frequently resorted to personal insults and attempted to intimidate me when I disagreed with him. Rather than working towards a compromise, he often tried to impose his opinions and would often resort to bullying tactics.
We then attended mediation with a different professional to help resolve some of these very same issues that Mr. Torchin was incapable of effectively addressing. The assigned mediator offered common-sense solutions that were "in the children's best interests." When confronted about his effectiveness in addressing our concerns, Mr. Torchin responded, "I never, in addressing the issue, imparted my opinion as to what was best for the children. Ultimately, when the parties could not agree, I left the decision to the discretion of the parent who had custody on that particular day." He also noted, "There is a difference in the style of mediation used by <Mediator Name>, which I do employ when retained as a mediator, and the style of mediation I use when retained as a Parent Coordinator".
His main focus seemed to be on maximizing billing rather than providing the best solutions. I recall one instance where, after being informed that "David is on vacation overseas," I discovered that many of his clients, including myself, were billed for "Telephone/International Calls" line item charge on the next invoice — as if his substantial hourly fee wasn't enough.
Given these experiences, it became clear that Mr. Torchin’s services as a Parent Coordinator were ineffective in facilitating resolutions that were truly in the best interests of our children. For those in need of a family law attorney or Parent Coordinator with a calm demeanor, I would advise looking beyond David Torchin.
I hope Mr. Torchin will not respond to me with insults, but instead will use my feedback as an opportunity to improve his services for future clients, as it was intended.

Mr. Torchin was appointed in my case, he is not the first PC to have been appointed in the case that has sadly continued for years. However, he is the first PC to genuinely care for my daughter's needs, and listen to her voice. Mr. Torchin provides sound recommendations that are child focused. Mr. Torchin is professional with the parents, and empathetic with the children. Mr. Torchin is not only an asset to family court, but also to the legal community.

Patricia Powers-Simonelli represented me in a divorce. The marriage lasted decades and there were some assets. My ex and I had come to an agreement on the division of the assets, although he waivered back and forth. Pat listened to me, understood how I wanted the divorce handled, understood that I did not want to be spending loads of time going over old records, coming up with budgets, expenses, going to court, etc. This was in complete contrast to my ex's attorney, who I felt wasted time, caused the completion of unnecessary paperwork, filed forms incorrectly, etc. Pat found errors in the legal papers and time frames that could have presented numerous problems for me. Pat is extremely knowledgeable and very efficient. She kept me posted via emails and was available beyond regular office hours. I appreciate that Pat respected my wishes to just "have it be done with". I believe Pat did a great job for me and definitely kept my budget in mind.
I was very impressed with Pat and would use her again for legal matters and highly recommend her.

I would never recommend either Francesca or Carlye, as my experience with them was that of ineffectiveness, procrastination and extreme inefficiency resulting in high bills and no accomplishments on my behalf, accompanied by poor attitude. I contacted Francesca in late Sep 2023 to help me and my son gain control of my son’s college fund and get my ex to pay child support. Francesca was optimistic, stated that they will get to work on it “right away”, and suggested that she bring on Carlye as it would be “more efficient”. What I was not told is that I will be billed thousands of dollars for Francesca and Carlye talking to each other (conferences they called it, and that is very lucrative for the two of them, but definitely not efficient). I was also not told that it meant that Francesca will dump my case on an inexperienced junior attorney –something I would have never agreed to. Not knowing any better I took her advice. By the end of November, still with no court date or even a motion in sight, my ex hired a lawyer, who, according to Francesca, was going to give us a counter-offer. Francesca suggested we wait to see it, before going to court. I waited for somebody to reach out to me until mid-January, for nearly 2 months, when my ex sent my son’s tuition payment to himself instead of to college. When I texted her, Francesca finally called my ex’s lawyer and discovered that he fired her. I am not sure when Francesca or Carlye were planning to follow-up on the situation if I didn’t text them. At that point, Francesca reassured me that we will be doing to court “very soon” (previously suggesting that in such a situation we can have an emergency court hearing within days). However, neither she nor Carlye pursued an emergency hearing, and did nothing to remediate the situation, leaving myself and my son to fight my ex for the tuition money, but I was billed thousands of dollars for communicating with them about the situation. It took until March to get a motion produced, with the court date eventually scheduled for mid-April. At that point my ex lawyered up again, asking to postpone the court date so they can file counter-motion. While it only took his lawyer a total of only 11 days from when he was hired until he completed the motion and submitted it to court, my lawyers missed court communications, and with all the other delays on part of Francesca and Carlye we did not get to court until early June, more than 8 months from when I hired them, and at the cost of 4-5 times what my ex paid his lawyer to get to that point. Once we got to court, Carlye proved to be just as ineffective and inefficient in convincing the judge of anything of benefit to me. The summer was spent by her in an unbroken streak of failures to get any results on my behalf or to move the process toward resolution through multiple court appearances, while billing me thousands of dollars. I was left to fight with my ex by myself outside of court to try to get to any kind of an agreement about the college fund and child support, while continuing to pay legal fees for "representation" but no results. My ex and I finally came to an agreement, outside of court, with no input from my lawyers. The agreement was written up by my ex’s attorney, who was much more responsive and efficient through that process. I really should have fired Francesca and Carlye at that point and finalized it myself, but I thought that I may as well benefit from having access to legal representation. Another mistake. They dragged it out for another 2 months, with the final agreement being identical to the original + changes by my ex that he sent over the day after his lawyer circulated the agreement, but I was charged additional ~ 4500 for their “work”. They did nothing but dragged the process out for over a year, left me to fight with my ex by myself and “efficiently” billed me tens of thousands of dollars. When I brought my concerns to Francesca, she accused me of trying to shake her down and get out of paying my bills. So – definitely don’t recommend.

I am so thankful for Thomas and his help with my divorce. I recommend him at every opportunity. His knowledge and approach kept my divorce civil and moving. When things escalated he was there for me, looking out for my best interest, while helping me set reasonable expectations. He doesnt get sucksd into the drama and isn't going to milk unfortunate situations to bump his bottom line.

I would never recommend either Francesca or Carlye, as my experience with them was that of ineffectiveness, procrastination and extreme inefficiency resulting in high bills and no accomplishments on my behalf, accompanied by poor attitude. I contacted Francesca in late Sep 2023 to help me and my son gain control of my son’s college fund and get my ex to pay child support. Francesca was optimistic, stated that they will get to work on it “right away”, and suggested that she bring on Carlye as it would be “more efficient”. What I was not told is that I will be billed thousands of dollars for Francesca and Carlye talking to each other (conferences they called it, and that is very lucrative for the two of them, but definitely not efficient). I was also not told that it meant that Francesca will dump my case on an inexperienced junior attorney –something I would have never agreed to. Not knowing any better I took her advice. By the end of November, still with no court date or even a motion in sight, my ex hired a lawyer, who, according to Francesca, was going to give us a counter-offer. Francesca suggested we wait to see it, before going to court. I waited for somebody to reach out to me until mid-January, for nearly 2 months, when my ex sent my son’s tuition payment to himself instead of to college. When I texted her, Francesca finally called my ex’s lawyer and discovered that he fired her. I am not sure when Francesca or Carlye were planning to follow-up on the situation if I didn’t text them. At that point, Francesca reassured me that we will be doing to court “very soon” (previously suggesting that in such a situation we can have an emergency court hearing within days). However, neither she nor Carlye pursued an emergency hearing, and did nothing to remediate the situation, leaving myself and my son to fight my ex for the tuition money, but I was billed thousands of dollars for communicating with them about the situation. It took until March to get a motion produced, with the court date eventually scheduled for mid-April. At that point my ex lawyered up again, asking to postpone the court date so they can file counter-motion. While it only took his lawyer a total of only 11 days from when he was hired until he completed the motion and submitted it to court, my lawyers missed court communications, and with all the other delays on part of Francesca and Carlye we did not get to court until early June, more than 8 months from when I hired them, and at the cost of 4-5 times what my ex paid his lawyer to get to that point. Once we got to court, Carlye proved to be just as ineffective and inefficient in convincing the judge of anything of benefit to me. The summer was spent by her in an unbroken streak of failures to get any results on my behalf or to move the process toward resolution through multiple court appearances, while billing me thousands of dollars. I was left to fight with my ex by myself outside of court to try to get to any kind of an agreement about the college fund and child support, while continuing to pay legal fees for "representation" but no results. My ex and I finally came to an agreement, outside of court, with no input from my lawyers. The agreement was written up by my ex’s attorney, who was much more responsive and efficient through that process. I really should have fired Francesca and Carlye at that point and finalized it myself, but I thought that I may as well benefit from having access to legal representation. Another mistake. They dragged it out for another 2 months, with the final agreement being identical to the original + changes by my ex that he sent over the day after his lawyer circulated the agreement, but I was charged additional ~ 4500 for their “work”. They did nothing but dragged the process out for over a year, left me to fight with my ex by myself and “efficiently” billed me tens of thousands of dollars. When I brought my concerns to Francesca, she accused me of trying to shake her down and get out of paying my bills. So – definitely don’t recommend.

"I unfortunately had Alexandra Coglianese appointed as our parent coordinator. She exhibited bias and manipulated facts to fit her own narrative. Her dishonesty led to false statements, some of which she corrected when confronted. She even presented inaccurate information to the judge, some of which she later amended in an email sent at 7 PM the night before the hearing. Whether this was deliberate or due to incompetence, she failed to prioritize my daughter’s best interests by presenting misleading narratives to the court and making false statements and unsolicited recommendations.
