As many times as I've retained David Baum's services, this review is long overdue. I came into acquaintance with Mr. Baum more than 5 years ago. In retrospect, Mr. Baum's energy has always been genuine. Contrary to the stereotypes that attorneys are given, Mr. Baum's character and reasonable rates are of the polar opposite. With that said, any cynicism that I had at inception, was negated early on.
I've utilized Mr. Baum's services so many times, I honestly don't recall the specifics of my first matter. But like the saying goes, you may forget what someone said or did, but you'll never forget how they made you feel. I do recall arriving at my desired outcome. In addition, I recall the feeling of being valued and overly satisfied. David's attention to detail, responsiveness to communications, tenacity to research matters, whether civil, criminal and estate planning, was exemplary. I can recall on some occasions over the years that David has returned calls well after his normal hours, and even on a Sunday.
Over the years, I referred several friends and family to retain David's services. If you're reading this review, chances are that you are a family member has an issue/matter that constitutes an emergency on your part. I assure you that once you speak to David, those worries will dissipate. His level of expertise coupled his genuine care and concern for his clients, gives one somewhat of a sense of calm. You're glad that he's on your side. He's a straight shooter, he's gonna ask the pertinent questions so he can arrive at the best viable plan of action, so take full advantage of your attorney-client privilege; he will address your concerns to the best of his ability.
In closing, I know attorneys are a dime a dozen. Unfortunately, attorneys with David's genuine character are too far and few between. I would definitely recommend Mr. David Baum Esq. for any/all of your legal needs.

SUMMARY: Our negative experience with Podlaski LLP forced us to retain the services of a completely different attorney just to get answers (and eventually a small refund).
SHORT STORY: We hired Podlaski LLP in October 2022 to fight against a moving company that breached their contract and cost us thousands of dollars in damages. To their credit, Podlaski was able to successfully obtain a judgement in our favor approximately 7 months after we signed on.
However, over the next 14 months their failure to execute asset searches, their frequent in-office turnover and their lack of communication cost us any opportunity to collect on our judgement. All the while, we were paying thousands of dollars in monthly invoices for nothing but inaction. After trying to get answers on the phone -- and being billed for it -- we finally decided as a last resort to throw the kids in the car and drive 400+ miles to their office in Ft. Wayne, IN, to get answers. Our visit with Kevin Podlaski confirmed our fears -- our case was now being handled by the third assistant attorney in less than two years, causing any forward progress to regress while the new attorney was brought up to speed. In turn, the asset search we were waiting for (and invoiced for) never happened. To top it all off, the very crucial advice that our case was a “dry hole” was given to us by Kevin Podlaski, and we left the meeting (and started our 7 hour drive home) feeling like that information would have completely changed our strategy had we known it sooner in the process. Kevin made it clear that our case had very little chance to collect damages, yet it took 2 years and an in-person visit for that information to get communicated. But that’s not really what this firm would have wanted; they would have been out our $15,000+.
OUTCOME: I now understand why the Google reviews for Podlaski LLP are mostly positive. They offered us a $1,088 out of “empathy” for our situation, admitting no wrongdoing. In exchange, they asked us to sign a settlement agreement saying that we would not post ANYTHING to social media about our experience. If we violated the agreement, we would be subject to $10,000 in damages PER SOCIAL MEDIA POST. Obviously, our new attorney told us that this was insane and to throw the agreement in the garbage. We declined signing, and the refund check showed up a couple of weeks later.
I also noticed that Podlaski responds to every bad review, typically blaming technological errors for lack of communication or calling the reviewer dishonest. This leads me to believe there will be a similar attempt to mischaracterize us and our situation. However, I have all invoices, emails, a 3rd party attorney's opinion and an audio recording of our in-person meeting with Kevin Podlaski that can backup anything in dispute.
TL;DR: Podlaski was difficult to communicate with and dragged our case out as we kept paying them. If you need legal assistance in Indiana, look elsewhere.

I retained this law firm for a simple rental eviction. I have been charged almost $8000.00 for them to handle the eviction process. This does not include the damages hearing. I fired this firm before that hearing because I didn't want to get another $4000.00 bill just for that. I greatly regret using this firm. I spoke with other law firms in Fort Wayne, asking about their average cost for a standard eviction, and I was quoted in the $3000.00 to $4000.00 range. They charged me $800.00 in research hours for having a representative testify instead of the property owner. Property managers testify and represent the property owners on evictions every single day. Why is there so much time to research such a standard policy? They have charged me almost $1000.00 for them to compose questions for the eviction court date. Then, when we went to court, that lawyer told me I shouldn't testify and let the tenant have extra time to get out. They are charging a monthly fee for an open case—a monthly maintenance fee totaling around $1200.00. I thought I had asked all the proper questions when I spoke with them before retaining them. I guessed wrong.

I found Amy to be highly unprofessional, and highly ineffective with my case. I was rear-ended badly while I was stopped at a light and injured. I could never get in touch with Amy, nor her minions she assigned to help. There was little to no communication for weeks at a time. They never made me feel like I was important enough for their time. I missed a few PT appointments due to Covid and a snowstorm. She blamed that for my laughable settlement. She must have had friends and family write all these reviews, unless she just decided she hated me for reasons unknown, and decided to treat me unfairly. I can't imagine there would be a much worse option out there. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for an attorney.

My case got very nasty fast and I'm glad Aaron was (and still is) my lawyer. Tammy is fantastic also.
Emergency custody hearing with no negotiations on the other side and they had a great lawyer. I walked away with primary.
If you're looking to fight just to fight he's not your guy. He always takes the balanced approach and is known for this amongst his peers and judges, he's seen it all thousands of times and knows how it's probably going to go. It may come across as defeatist but he's just being realistic. That being said if a fight is forced he's a great personal champion. I was seriously impressed with his court room fighting skills when a nasty fight is forced.
Things got more wild and the case got bigger to involve other family members and he was kind enough to take those situations on for them.
He's not out for blood, he's out for a reasonable solution. Other lawyers love to fight and promise the moon just to waste your money.
Not cheap but he's also not actively trying to pump up the bill and waste time.
I greatly appreciate his honesty and transparency about the whole process and what he's really thinking. I always feel he's treating me as an equal.
Tammy is very responsive and you're never left in the dark.
He saved my ability to be a father and I'll never forget it.

Where to begin. I needed a lawyer to get visitation with my grandkids, which I had daily up to this point. I don’t drink, or do drugs all I have ever done is work several jobs. One even being in a school system. I even warned Laura Raiman of my toxic family members whom just involved themselves randomly, whom I had been estranged from for years for good reason out of the gate, and told her that’s who I would be fighting, not my daughter. Threw that 7 months I went through hell. I got a lawyer so someone would help fight with me. Only to find out I was on my own. More or less Laura telling me to take an agreement of 5 hours a month because they said I couldn’t get along with my family and it would be a mud slinging battle. Is this not what I paid thousands for? It was horrible, Laura did not have my back. She didn’t even read or look at any of my evidence. I was completely shocked when she asked me what she should ask my witnesses, or that I had a binder full of pdf’s and she asked me what those were, then said she didn’t get them, until she looked and said she had. That was 2 days before court by the way. So hundreds of pages of text messages (evidence) just went unnoticed, but because I don’t get along or agree with my toxic estranged family members , I should just agree to disagree or go to court and fight alone because she definitely wasn’t fighting with me I decided to take the deal. Over 10k for a lawyer that never stepped away from her desk and got me 5 hours, because I didn’t have any representation to back me. I felt defeated and humiliated that I paid someone to watch me drown and decide the fate of me and my grandchildrens relationship. Now I’m looking for another lawyer. One that will work for me.
