When you are going through something as devastating as a divorce, it’s a lot to process. It can be nerve wrecking, scary, all because it’s a life changing event. But when you hire an attorney as professional, patient, thorough, and knowledgeable as Ashley, it doesn’t get any better than that. Deborah and Andrea picked up my case after it had been poorly handled for over a year. She immediately answered my questions about why my case was not settling and focused me on the things that mattered. Her team found and applied recent statute changes that literally saved me hundreds of thousands of dollars. My representation cost far less than what they saved me. This firm did not go the distance. Do not and would never recommend this firm to do your case justice. First off be mindful of the name Porter Law “Firm.” Porter NEVER worked the case. We had no communication with Porter EVER. Even when requested that he take over the case because we didn’t feel that the case was being handled aggressively as we were promised when hired. Initially we had hope. Thatcher was on the case and he was always prompt, he showed up and answered questions, and he was confident. Then it all changed. First, the state attorney was reassigned from the case then Thatcher left the firm and the case was reassigned to Abuetello. Always late, it got to the point where we just asked when will you be there so we don’t have to wait for all the other cases, uncertain and never forthcoming with answers to questions and had to start over with the case because she was newly assigned in place of Thatcher. We brought up the request to try for entrapment only to be told “ that’s too hard of an angle.” A couple of depositions later, requests for more money and finally we could talk negotiations only the negotiations were null. Usually at the trial point you would think a couple of offers would be extended, no. We got 1 offer. Then Abuetello tells us she is leaving the firm and the state attorney is new to the case and it’s this offer or risking it to go to trial. What other option is there. We felt rushed and without options.Now we have a sentence of prison time… A paid lawyer got us what a public defender could have. Later received closing documents and additional requests for more money. Highly disappointed in this firm and would NEVER recommend.

I had changed attorneys a few times over the last several years, trying to find peace, protection and support for enforcement of a court order. My divorce was ugly, from start to finish. I was in such a bad place when I had my first consultation. After speaking with Josh Kelne, not only did he have excellent credentials, he was professional and kind. He walked me through the entire process from start to finish. He was communicative throughout the entire thing and always made my options clear. I never had any issues with him calling or emailing me back. He is easy to talk to and understands the laws fully. If you want someone to be real with you, he’s your guy. He doesn’t over promise but has always delivered. I have used Josh for all of my family law needs and used him exclusively for over 2 years. Josh was always the calm voice of reason in an emotionally charged situation. When you need someone to help you stay in check but also listens to your frustrations, Josh is 1000% my recommendation. Whenever my ex husband threatens legal action, I immediately go back to Josh. He is always my first call and he always takes my call. From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful for Joshua Kelne.
My case was "simple," but only after he had to rummage through a giant mess, another Jacksonville Attorney made. He immediately started working on my family law case over custody and jurisdiction. He had it completed long before I ever imagined. He made out-of-state communication easy and updated me often before I even started to worry. He knew right away what to ask me for and where to get it. His quick dedication and response were worth every dollar spent.

This past weekend (Dec 2020), I was in Jacksonville, FL, with an emergency order. When things started to get complicated, I called him. He immediately made himself available, remembered me and my case, and offered advice and information. He didn't have to do that, but he did.
