Rafay Shahid is the GOAT lol. He got me everything I wanted and then some. I don't know if David Chesley is hiring magicians as lawyers, but I know Rafay is definitely a magician disguised as a lawyer lol. I'm very thankful and grateful for his work and effort in my DUI case. You do have to trust the process because sometimes it's hard to reach him. A lot of my queries were handled by my caseworker, but when I needed Rafay most, he always came through. I admire a man of his word and especially one with your life quote unquote in his hands. I worked with Joanne on a prenuptial agreement. This was my first time dealing with a lawyer so I had no idea what to expect. Joanne was extremely professional, responsive, and easy to work with. She explained the process to me very thoroughly and I truly feel like she had my best interests at heart. If it weren't for the the opposing counsel's side, the process would have wrapped up within a few weeks due to the quick speed at which Joanne is able to work. I would definitely work with Joanne again on any legal matter related to marriage/divorce, although I certainly hope I won't have to :)

Like some of us do, I found myself having a wonderful child with a not so wonderful partner. Soon enough the relationship went from terrible to worse, and I needed to get a custody order in place. Because of the complicated nature of child custody, I was referred to Nathan.
As it turns out, Nathan is the kind of attorney you can only hope is on your side of a child custody case. He walked me through every step of the process. Within days of our first phone call, I was reviewing a Request for Order. He walked me through the Declaration of Income and Expense Reports, the Plaintiff's responses. He explained in detail what each and every word meant.
During the deposition, Nathan was more prepared then I could ever have imagined. He was direct and pointed, and extracted information that would be very helpful during court.
Within months of serving an RFO, I quickly learned that I had been served with a restraining order. Scared out of my mind and spinning in circles, Nathan helped me navigate through it. Not only was he my lawyer, but he came a confidant. He helped me with the visit from the sheriff's department and the painful supervised visitations.
The week prior to my first court date, I spoke to Nathan everyday about what the court proceeding would be like. He was very honest with me and told me that there is nothing you can do to prepare for testifying in a child custody case. He was right. There is nothing like it that I have ever experienced, but because of the relationship we had developed over the course a few months, it more was like talking to a friend across the table instead of sitting in a courtroom.
On Nathan's cross examination, he was able to discredit the Respondent and get the restraining order removed.
If you ever find yourself in my situation, I would highly advise that you hire Nathan. He is a great lawyer, he cares, and he will argue your case until he is blue in the face. I would give him ten stars if I could.

Mr. Gabbard is an highly strategic and thoughtful attorney who helped me with a difficult divorce case. He has a passion for the law and is genuinely concerned with justice which comes across while you work with him. I actually had another attorney before him but had to terminate him and found Mr. Gabbard through a referral. He came through and turned my case around and we eventually settled. I would highly recommend hiring him.

So as you read all the reviews about this guy, ask yourself if you want a nice, polite attorney? Or do you want a shark who fights for your rights? If your opposition is a great person you have a lovely relationship with, and their lawyer is a wonderful person too, give Mr. Gabbard a try. Or just DIY it if it's that simple. Bit I would guess that most people looking for this type of attorney really need help. If that's you, and especially if losing your case will seriously wreck your life and your loved ones' lives, then RUN from Mr. Gabbard. He literally snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in my case. I've spent the last several months and a lot of $ trying to recover, and it looks like I probably never will. This guy ruined my life--not just figuratively, but literally.

I struggled in a long battle that I am not convinced it is 100% over yet. I had a TRO filed against me steaming from an HOA dispute.
I was searching for attorneys online and came across a few, 1 never responded back, 1 responded a day later by which time I had already selected one, and another 2 were very sharp - but lt sounded like they were trying to sell me on a hefty legal fee. Attorney Brian Micheals returned my call promptly and after a short discussion I realized I’m in the right place. He was not trying to sell me anything, just gave me the facts and I liked that. His price was reasonable and I signed up with him. In court he was just a star, the ferociousness that he defended me made me feel really comfortable. His cross examination of the witnesses just killed it, witnesses were caught lying and the case was promptly dismissed with prejudice.
Brian is a real PRO, I could not be happier.

I think this review reflects my honest opinion of working with Ray on my tenant eviction during the eviction moratorium - he is OK. 3/5
I had purchased my property in 2017 with the intention to one day have enough money to renovate it and move in. I rented the property to Paul Horne in July 2017. Paul Horne ended up being a headache tenant for 3 years, who always paid rent late, refused to pay 3% annual rent increases or late fees. In 2019, I married and my wife was pregnant and due in August 2020 and our house was too small for my new family - so we decided it was time to move into the investment property the tenant had been renting month-to-month.
I served my tenant a 60 day notice to owner occupy and he texted me refusing to leave and threatened to sue me for mold exposure & quite enjoyment. I hired a mold inspector for $900 who found no mold in the house, but reported that Paul Horne was growing marijuana in the house. As day 60 approached to file an unlawful detainer - I was a part of the unlucky group of landlords who was halted by the eviction moratorium & covid19 pandemic. My tenant ( Paul Horne) stopped paying his $3,500 rent in March 2020. I also found out that he had a subtenant and a dog on my property that were forbidden by my lease when I went to post the COVID notice mandated by the state. He said he responded by saying he was affected by COVID and was unable to pay any rent.
I reached out to an eviction service who said I had a case for an at-fault eviction due to breach of contract, and they filed an Unlawful detainer - and the tenant answered the court that they got rid of the subtenant & dog.
Thats when I decided to retain an attorney and was referred to Raymond who charged me $250 consultation fee to tell me the UD is no good.
Raymond suggested I accept my loss and dismiss my previous at-fault UD case and serve new notices for non-payment of rent & owner occupy. He charged me $1240 to prepare the new notices, file it with the court and served it to the tenant. This was in October 2020. By the end of January, the tenant had to pay 25% of back rent owed to be protected by the eviction moratorium. Raymond recommended that this was our best hope - so we waited. Tenant ended up mailing a check through his attorney on the last day so we were unable to pursue them further. However, the check was fraudulent & ended up being from a closed account that later bounced.
Raymond said there is nothing we can do - and that our best shot is to pursue an owner occupy. On more than one occasion he recommended to settle with the tenant to get the property back and forget the $40,000 owed. After he spoke to the tenant's attorney, they requested for all rent owed to be forgiven and 60 days to move out. I refused, and told Raymond I'm ready to go to trial over this. After summons was issued for owner occupy UD, the tenant never responded with an answer. Raymond charged $260 for default judgement fees. We later obtained a writ ($358) and gave it to the sheriff for a lockout. Tenant challenged the writ for dismissal saying that they were not properly served. Raymond charged me $1526 to challenge the writ dismissal and to appear in front of a judge for the writ dismissal hearing. After the hearing, Raymond said that there is a new settlement in play that factors in forgiving 20% of rent owed from April 2020-March 2020 and a $25,000 money judgement. I accepted with the condition that the tenant move out over the weekend, ultimately because the only assurance Raymond could give about the Judge making a decision on the writ dismissal was that "the judge liked me, but thats not enough to know what he will decide". Raymond then charged me $1,586 for preparing the settlement & appearing in court. When I confronted Ray about the settlement being the tenants idea & him having not had to appear in court - he said he drafted the settlement and charges a "flat fee".
In the end - it took Raymond 8 months to get my house back

Donna was able to navigate through what was candidly a rather complex eviction situation.
She fought hard through the entire process, and ultimately we were able to reach a settlement before trial that would be seen as a winning verdict.
Incredibly personable, and leaves no page unturned. Would highly recommend to anyone who may be dealing with a similar circumstance.

Mrs. Donna Pettway I found on yelp. I read 2 reviews and called the number. Mrs. Pettway answered the phone it was 9:01am. She was extremely informative and her level of expertise was fantastic.
Mrs. Pettway took me on as a client, I had less than 15 days for trial. Mrs. Pettway prepared me legally and mentally.
Mrs. Pettway was able to negotiate before trial in the hallway of the courtroom with the plantiff multiple attorneys. In the end!I won, a settlement.

Donna is one of the worst lawyers I've ever dealt with, she is extremely unprofessional and out right ghetto. She missed several timely emails with the oppositions lawyer that caused us to lose the opportunity to mediate. She then hits us with a 20k+ in legal fees and said you should just settle and pay them 35k. I would never recommend her or her firm to anyone, unless your looking for an unprofessional and incompetent lawyer. Worst experience in my life and I honestly felt cheated and taken advantage of by someone we paid to fight for us and trusted to represent our best interest.

I also retained Mr. Brush. This was in 1997 when he represented me in a disability discrimination suit in federal court against a federal agency. We would have won hands down; however, in 1999 the U.S. Supreme Court came out with three simultaneous decisions drastically limiting the the Americans with Disabilities Act. My case was sunk. However, Mr. Brush was still able to secure a settlement in my favor with the AUSA assigned to my case. Most lawyers disdain practicing in federal court; however, Mr. Brush did not shy away the least and relished in it.
The financial meltdown during the Bush administration caused Mr. Brush's world to collapse. His investments evaporated overnight. While still representing them, clients didn't pay his fees as many similarly were impacted by the recession. He couldn't meet his financial obligations. His wife left him. His magnificent home was foreclosed upon. He took to the bottle - causing him more problems. He ultimately did what many of us would do - whatever it took to survive. The sum effect of this all led to the downfall of a competent, noted and well-respected lawyer. During his downfall I retained him once more in 2013 in a matter with another federal agency. I asked him to disrepect a high-level government official and directly fax a letter to his office. This he did, and within days the federal agency reversed its decision.
Several of my co-workers during and after my federal employment uitlized Mr. Brush. Though his retainer was high, he got results. Eighteen years after my initial consultation with Mr. Brush, I am still contacted by former co-workers for Mr. Brush's telephone number. I regretfully inform them that he no longer is practicing law. Ir's a real shame the way he went down.
