Contacted Chris Beard for advice on how to respond to a third party liability subrogation claim by a workers comp insurance company (alleging contributory negligence). Quite a few wrinkles in the fact set, but Chris sat and spoke with me face-to-face (on very short notice) and gave me step by step guidance on what to do. His manner is calm, relaxed and respectful while simultaneously very focused and insightful (many, many years of experience on such matters). Feeling MUCH better. Highly recommend reaching out to Mr. Beard if you find yourself in need of general legal advice or something more complicated as I had. Good guy. Straight shooter.

I’m so glad I chose Josephia Law. I’ve been in divorce proceedings for over a year now. And every step of the way the people at Josephia Law have been prompt, professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. The attorney on my case is Massa Massaquoi-King. I’m lucky to have her on my case. She is very knowledgeable and experienced. She’s also very attentive, I don’t have to explain things more than once and she will let me know the best way we should proceed.
Not only is she great at her job, she really cares. Up until recently, my wife was not allowing me to take my son to see my family without her. Recently at the merits hearing for my divorce case, Massa displayed her knowledge and experience in that courtroom. The judge gave an order so that I can spend more time with my son on a schedule. Coincidentally, outside the courtroom my 3 year old son was waiting for us to finish. I picked him up and my son and I both thanked Massa because it was going to be the first time he was going to be able to spend with me and my side of the family for the weekend. It was an emotional moment for all 3 of us outside that courtroom.

DON'T GET SCAMMED!
Before I signed on with this firm I talked to Ms Rouse and explained my financial situation. She assured me that I wouldn't have to constantly dump money into my trust (which was a lie). After giving them 10k with no results, they droped me because I couldn't afford to give them $2500 for an upcoming court date. I went with another lawyer who handled my case for $1500 with excellent results. When my new lawyer reviewed what was previously done, he found several documents were filed incorrectly and I was charged each time they had to resubmit them. Mass King is a joke! She showed up to a virtual hearing looking very unkept (with 6 month old box braids). I was embarrassed. There were several reviews about how this firm takes people money and literally drop them right before court. I wonder why you can't see them anymore......

Dempsey helped me resolve issues pertaining to my divorce and custody dispute of my two year old son, and by way of referring me to another attorney also helped me resolve debt / financial ailments. As a 25 y.o. (at the time) dealing with divorce, I initially was very embarrassed of my predicament however I never once felt judged or dismissed by Dempsey. Additionally I had a hearing that was supposed to last 1.5-2 hours which, I kid you not, ended up lasting 9. I really appreciate that she was able to be present and attentive during that unexpected turn of events. Ultimately I was awarded exactly what I was petitioning for. I'm happy my son and I can now move forwards with our lives.

My experience working with Dempsey Nash has been professional and therapeutic. Dempsey is extremely patient and kind as well as professional as she gathers pertinent information and works toward resolution. She works from an emotional and sensitive platform and really understands your pain and challenge in making difficult decisions. She understood that despite the incredible pain, fear, anxiety and abuse I was enduring, I was still very concerned and worried about my ex-partner and wanted to work with him despite the mental health issues he expressed. She was sensitive and worked to help me understand my options and bring me to reasonable and supportive conclusions. She takes time to listen to you and your story and create a plan that works for you. Working with Dempey provided and opportunity to explore my relationship from a perspective that included my empathetic emotional feelings but was also objective and fair. This is difficult to do when you have endured years of abuse and control by a mentally ill individual. Dempsey never condems and always listens. She is as much a psychological counselor as she is a legal guide. Working with Dempsey was as healing as working with my counselors and you will learn about yourself and what you have endured in addition to finding your strength through the process because of her compassionate and passionate style. I feel so very fortunate to have found Dempsey to work with during one of the most difficult times of my life.

I was injured in a rear end collision on the Capital beltway. Mr. Rosenthal worked on my case patiently for an extended period of time due to continued medical treatment. I worked with Jane L. Rodgers, Esq recently for a pre-nuptial agreement in early 2022. Jane was great to work with! Jane was attentive, thorough and professional. I highly recommend this law firm. Someone directed me to this law firm when my daughter’s mother sued me for child custody and child support with the intention of extorting money from me. With the help of attorney Michael who practice under this law firm, my case was dismissed with prejudice . Michael is very knowledgeable with Maryland family law as well as international law. This was my first time going to court , I was nervous lol. Attorney Michael gave me some good legal advice with respect to my case. I am glad the case was dismissed.

I selected Emily Russell of McCabe Russell, P.A. for legal representation in a divorce case and a civil case as the Plaintiff and it morphed into an unfounded restraining order case and an unfounded criminal case with me as the defendant. Emily has the knowledge and experience in dealing with high conflict / challenging family law cases (narcissists) and her calm, professional demeanor and thorough preparation was successful in winning all the cases in my favor.
With the stress of four cases happening concurrently, having Emily, Associate Attorney Jennifer Bradbury and their supporting staff’s personal attention to the details of each case was a huge relief to me. Custody modification is often even more challenging than an initial custody proceeding. The "material change" and "best interest" standards are rather subjective and a judge is not inclined to change a custody agreement without overwhelming evidence that it would improve the child's situation.
Despite the inherent difficulty, Ms. Russell achieved the exact result we set out to achieve in my custody modification case. She is an incredible strategist and litigator with a total command of MD custody law. Every part of the plan was well-considered and well-executed.
I would highly recommend Emily for any family law matter. I would also recommend listening to her when she provides advice. Unlike some attorneys, she doesn't hedge on every recommendation to the point that you're making all the decisions without knowing the possibilities of how those decisions will turn out. She will provide sound advice taking into account the facts of the matter. Tell her the truth, take her advice, and let her do her job. She is equipped to attain the best possible outcome for you and your family.

My very first impression of Emily was amazing. Friends of mine were having their first child and the hospital would not allow the non birth mother to access their newborn due to them being a same sex couple. Emily not only answered her phone right away, she drove to the hospital to make sure her clients were being taken care of!
Emily (and Heather) stepped in to handle was was quickly becoming a very emotional situation. Within moments the problem was solved and our friends had a smooth adoption afterwards.
I knew Emily was going to be my first call to handle dissolving a civil union (issued only in Vermont) that I had been a part of since 2001. Emily met with me to go over my options on what I was told by two other attorneys would be nearly impossible and very costly. My former partner and I were tethered to a civil union that states no longer recognized and they were obsolete as marriage equality was on the horizon. The unfortunate part was those living in civil unions who had separated, like myself were caught up in the red tape of the courts with many courts claiming no jurisdiction, yet this was still a legal binding that would had to be dissolved to get officially married.
From the start Emily said "we will get this done, and if we can't at first we will keep trying until we do". Emily went far above and beyond in my case. On the day before the trial, the courts were all of a sudden requesting my EX be present. She lives 1200 miles away. Emily called the court endlessly the entire day and after hours, she faxed forms to the judge and guided not only me but pointed my ex in the proper direction to make sure she would not be left in some sort of trouble with the courts. As my case was in front of the judge, i was worried! I felt the judge was tough on the cases before mine....Emily was right next to me and consistently told me "its ok". When it was time for my case, Emily was confident and calm in front of the judge. She had a quick response for every question and was prepared for what seemed like anything and everything. 10 minutes later, my civil union which had been in limbo for years, was dissolved! Emily Charged me a regular uncontested divorce rate. She responded to every call and email within hours. I still can't believe it and Emily and I stay in touch to this very day!

I was blindsided by the separation paperwork. Obviously my Ex had put time and effort into getting a head start on the divorce and had hired a very good & aggressive divorce lawyer. I contacted equally rated lawyers but most were too ready to start spending $$$ rather than see if an amicable solution could be worked out. But my initial consultation/call with Kari was different. She (and Ann-Marie) were just as interested in me as the case. They worked with me and tried to do things my way - but - were very clear to point out that I was allowing myself to be bullied by my Ex and her lawyer. Wanting to minimize impact on our young adult children, my wife and myself I let myself be pressured into several bad decisions. Kari informed me why the decisions were bad and was willing to bring in other lawyers from her office for their opinions. Fortunately she slowed the process long enough for me to realize the mistakes I was making. Number 1 lesson learned: Listen to your lawyer. The next year and a half was total insanity. While I was a wreck, Kari was able to handle all the nonsense from my Ex's lawyer. Case went to court and the trial lasted three days. While Kari was very competent with managing the process and deflecting the crap from my Ex and her lawyer - She was on an entirely different level in court. Her questioning of my wife left no doubt to the judge who was primarily responsible for the failure of the family. Kari's closing statement caught me by surprise - hearing the cold hard facts reiterated and the emotion in her voice as she detailed the hell me and the kids endured. The judgment was definitely in my favor.

I recently used Kari Fawcett for a custody case. She and her assist were an amazing team. Kari always contacted me promptly and if she was unable her assist would. She worked above and beyond my expectations. She was very informative every step of the way and did not make false promises. She works very well under pressure and gets the job done. She always made me feel very secure and comfortable during such a stressful time. I would definitely recommend this lawyer to anyone who is needing an honest and tenacious attorney. I also must add that she obviously does this for a career but she was not out to only take money. She was worth every penny. Very honest and knows Maryland law very well. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Kari Fawcett in a divorce case is that she is super intelligent when it comes to law (she has been an attorney for many years), she is super nice and down to earth plus she is not playing around and has 0 tolerance for any bullshit or lies from the opposing side. She is a very aggressive attorney and she knows what she is doing and she will fully have your back on everything. Ms. Fawcett's partner, Ann-Marie Dunn is also super nice, sweet, extremely competent with the law and is a very hard worker. They both worked on my case together, and I call them "The Dynamic Duo." I truly believe, as in my case, that if you retain "The Dynamic Duo," you will have double the power of one attorney, you will have access to talking over the phone with one of them at any given time if the other one is in court, and you will have the superb chance of winning your case. They are definitely aggressive, which is why I retained Kari Fawcett in the first place. My case is over now and we won, but I feel so close to these lovely ladies, that I will be staying in touch with them on a monthly basis just to keep them in my life. I love these 2 attorneys. God forbid if I ever have another divorce, I would definitely, no hesitation, retain Kari Fawcett again and again. Kari and Ann-Marie are definitely a strong force and I would not want to be the opposing attorney nor the opposing client in the case.

I definitely recommend Raymond! He goes above and beyond with his clients. Raymond was extremely patient with me. He thoroughly communicated everything he was doing, and was attentive when I had questions. Jamie was able move my divorce case forward and to bring the process to a close in a very reasonable period of time after my previous attorneys were unable to get resolution over a several year period. The end result was much better than I expected.
She was able to navigate all the issues in a firm, polite and reasonable manner that allowed all parties involved to come to a satisfactory agreement. In my opinion, it was her focus, determination, legal knowledge, reputation and experience in family law that made the difference.
Jamie also showed that she could handle all the necessary QDRO’s involved with my case, including working with additional council to provide acceptable documents for Railroad Retirement, pension plans, IRAs and 401k plans. She followed up on all the necessary components and made sure they were prepared and submitted for execution appropriately.
As far as working with me as a client, she was patient, empathetic, nonjudgmental and was able to carefully explain all the components of the process in a plain, easy to understand language. She identified the road blocks, explained my options and carried out my preferences.
Her fees were reasonable and her invoices were clear, accurate and precise.
Although my general divorce experience wasn’t pleasant, Jamie made the process much less stressful. I highly recommend her for any family related legal matter, especially those involving children or with complex financial concerns. The service she provided was worth every penny paid.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr.Arnold after dealing with a prior attorney who just wasn't working out for me.
I researched lawyers and felt that after reviews, Mr.Arnold was an attorney that I was looking for to help me with my parent's Will. I must say, the decision was right!
From the first visit in his office to the last, I was treated most professionally and had things explained with much knowledge in a way I could understand. Communication was open the entire time! There were a few bumpy roads along the way within the Will, but Mr.Arnold and his staff were right on top of things. I could have never accomplished an end to these issues without them. There were a few times when the longer office hours were also much appreciated. I can't say thank you enough to him for taking on this case. It was a little hard to find trust after dealing with the first attorney, however the office of Donald Arnold brought back that trust I needed in an attorney.
I highly recommend his office and will be using him for personal reasons of my own in the near future.

I became acquainted with his book, Divorce in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia back in 1996 and purchased the book. Thereafter I purchased his then available product to produce a Marital Separation Agreement. My attorney, Debra Cruz, saved me & my son's emotional and physical well being- literally. My life was completely torn apart at the beginning of my separation. There was absolutely no light at the end of my tunnel. Debra's education, expertise, & emotional support saved me from losing my son.
