I hired Oya almost 2 years ago after meeting with several other family law attorneys. Oya is great. She genuinely cared about the well being of my children and was very supportive. This is going to be long, but if you are considering Mike as your attorney, it is everything you need to hear.
I will forever praise Mike Mastracci. Not only because of his ability as an attorney, but because he is an all-around amazing person. Let me explain....
I stumbled across Mike on Google 16 months ago. I am from Anne Arundel County, but I needed to find an attorney who could represent me in a (very) complicated custody matter in Worcester County. I had other consultations but once I spoke with Mike, I was no longer interested in using anyone else. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about the law, but his calm demeanor and laid-back personality immediately puts you at ease.
During my case, I learned that Mike has a unique ability to adapt to situations quickly and under stress. He has a very friendly demeanor that allows him to put others at ease while he works his magic, but do not let that fool you because when he needs to come out swinging, he is not afraid to.
My custody case was a unique one, but that didn't discourage Mike. Others I had spoken with thought the outcome I was seeking was impossible. Mike did not. From the very beginning, Mike believed in what I wanted and even though he made sure I had realistic short-term expectations, he stayed in the fight and was able to obtain an even better outcome than I had originally expected... one that ensured I can always prioritize my daughter's best interest. I truly believe that hiring Mike was the key factor in the success of my case.
I will also add that Mike and I were presented with a situation where I was able to see his integrity shine through. In a situation where many other attorneys would have gone back on their word, Mike did not. I won’t speak to the specifics of the situation, but even after I explained to him that I understood if he needed to go back on it, he refused to. His word meant more than anything, including money.

First off let me say if you are looking for an attorney you have found him!
I’ve hired many attorneys in Maryland of the years and NOT ONE can compare to Ian Valkenet. He is honest, straight forward, and the most educated attorney in his field we’ve ever spoken to. Which was over a dozen for this particular case. Most of them even told my husband and I that there was nothing we could do that we were in the wrong. Deep down we knew that couldn’t possible be true. After speaking with Ian it was confirmed. There was something we could do. A lot actually and Ian was knocking them out like Muhammad Ali in the ring.
You don’t get that a lot anymore with attorneys. They tell you things and don’t follow through . Not Ian! If he says he’s doing something it’s done. This man knew our rights and was honest with us. We have been in a lawsuit since Feb 2023. From the day we met Ian for a consultation we knew that this man was who we needed. He knew the law in every aspect you can imagine. It was incredible we were actually looking forward to seeing him in trial. For pure satisfaction of seeing the defendants faces. 😂 This man won without having a trial which saved us money but it would’ve been epic to watch him in this case. If you hire him and get to see him in that courtroom it will be pure satisfaction. Even in our case for motions to dismiss he was incredible. When he speaks you listen he makes you feel safe like you can really sit back and not stress because you know he is protecting you. Because let’s face it anything that involves going to court can be stressful. Everything he told us happened without hesitation. His phone calls were prompt always on time, didn’t send someone else from his office to court. We’ve had that happen on many occasions with other firms. He understands the importance of his clients needs and wants. Breaks everything down for you and ensures you understand step by step. We really appreciated that too. This man isn’t just in law for a paycheck he goes above and beyond for his clients. He is worth every dollar! We would hire him over and over again. Our only regret is that we didn’t find him a year sooner. The end result of our lawsuit was we won everything we asked for and then some. Ian we cannot thank you enough you will alway be on our speed dial. We will refer you over and over again because you deserve it!

I feel that the Law Firm of C. Justin Brown went above and beyond in their representation of me. The Brown Law Firm were appointed by the court to represent me in a federal compassionate release motion. The motion was prepared by Lily Romero, and granted, under the condition I spend 4 months on home confinement. I spent 16 years, 7 months, 2 weeks, and 10 hours in federal custody awaiting that day. And Lily continued to represent me even after release by filing motions for me to attend family holiday events, and now filing a motion for me to be released from home confinement early. She also filed a motion for the courts to waive the fees associated with my home confinement, which was granted. All of these motions, after my release, were filed without charge. Paid for consultation, stated he would send me the paperwork and other documents to my email it never happen. Stated he would send over a contractor it never happened. Before the consultation, I explained that I didn’t need that I’m ready to move forward all to end up with nothing. No call, monies paid for consultation with no results.
What you specifically stated was that you were going out of town and that packet would be sent out to me. This is bankruptcy there’s no retainer, it’s money paid in full before service rendered. You also stated that the money I paid for the consultation would go towards the remaining balance. You also stated that a contractor would come out and evaluate the property. There was no miscommunication and the email wasn’t wrong. You sent an email to me prior to our meeting that I told you it wasn’t needed. That I was ready to pay all fees and move forward. I never heard from you.

STAY AWAY FROM ANY FIRM THAT EMPLOYS KELLY KILROY! She knew she was going to be disbarred and still took our case. We lost huge amount of money because of missed opportunities. She was too focused on saving herself. She would have lost malpractice lawsuit but "had no assets." (This is our opinion based on the facts we experienced).

I received my Green Card, including my family members, as well. We have numerous immigration attorneys in the United States, and I have also consulted numerous, but never seen like you who helped me keeping the same priority date and just change my category. In my perception the best attorney is the one who will use all his/her expertise and make a positive suggestion and response, when the RFEs from USCIS received.
