Ended up taking the first plea agreement. I feel like he didn't really try. I tried to call after sentencing with a question and he never returned my call, not sure if the receptionist never gave him the message or he just never called.

Eric Brever is terrible at returning correspondence. I would never use this law firm again, due to this attorneys disregard for their clients timeliness. I don’t think I’d be asking for anything to grand by assuming I should be able to get an email response within a few days……. It’s much worse. These emails go unanswered, or are no longer pertinent after finally getting a response as much as 30 days later. I would have much preferred that he be a professional and tell me that he either doesn’t want to represent me, or that he’s too busy. If you need a simple LLC set up (very easy for an average person) he’s capable of pulling that off correctly, but I’d really be leery of trusting him with a timely matter, or if you are looking for a response even.

Eric Brever is terrible at returning correspondence. I would never use this law firm again, due to this attorneys disregard for their clients timeliness. I hired Jane Van Valkenburg at the end of my Custody Establishment case for the trial only. She asked for a $5000 retainer and because there was only about a month to prepare for trial she told me she would be asking for a continuance to allow for negotiations and preparation of possible trial. When the court denied the motion to continue the trial Jane told me she was going to ask the court to reconsider and then she was going to withdraw as my lawyer with hopes of preserving an appeal. She did withdraw 2 days before trial which left me completely in the dark and set to represent myself Pro Se in the trial of my life( establishing custody of my 2 1/2 year old). Jane withheld all of the paperwork and evidence submitted to her by the opposing attorney. I went into that trial alone with no idea how much of my $5000 retainer was to be returned and no evidence or information from the the opposing attorney. Jane actually called my phone leaving a message while I was in court fighting that trial Pro Se. I can’t believe this woman has a law practice. She was so unprofessional with no compassion or concern for her clients case.

My experience with Jane Van Valkenburg was a very positive one. She managed all of puzzle pieces associated with divorce from beginning to end. She's clearly an expert in her field and I was highly satisfied with her work and the outcome of the divorce. I'm thankful that a friend gave me Jane's name to help me. Jane was wonderful.

My separation and divorce was difficult, as I'm sure it is for most. My biggest concern was my daughter and how it would affect her. By far the absolute WORST lawyer I have ever had to deal with. She "represented" my mom in my parents divorce. She went out of her way to drag myself and my sister (both in our 30s) into our parents divorce when it was absolutely not needed. She tried to rob myself of upwards of $20k by accusing myself and my father of being "in cahoots" together because I had a bank account set up by my dad YEARS ago, which he told them about going into the divorce (was a business bank account). I had to spend hours gathering information and have the displeasure of talking to Laurie on the phone to prove to her that the money in the account was mine and being used by me, I had hard facts and she still wouldn't let it go. She also went after my sister for money my dad "possibly" gave her to use towards her college tuition, because that is so uncommon for parents to do... She also is by far the most rude, disrespectful and unprofessional person I have ever met. I had to speak with her on the phone about the above bank account and told her I left about $20k in the bank account that has mine and my dads name on it to use as a savings for a down payment on a house. Her exact words to me were "that is not enough money for a down payment". Well sorry I can't scam my clients out of thousands of dollars like you Laurie to afford a million dollar house, but $20k to most people is way more then enough for a down payment (worked for me, I got approved with it for a house). People, there are a TON of other good qualified lawyers out there, ones that won't drag family members into a divorce that they have nothing to do with, especially kids, of any age. Do your research. Laurie has a HUGE REPUTATION of running the costs up on lawyer and legal fees to benefit herself. Ask any divorce lawyer in the metro and they will tell you the same thing about her, she wastes thousands of dollars to do nothing to benefit her clients. She wasted thousands of dollars of BOTH my parents money, to accomplish nothing. Long and short of it, if I could give her a negative star I would. She is horrible, condescending and the most unprofessional lawyer I have ever had to talk to. She did nothing to help either one of my parents, unfortunately my mom was not smart enough to realize this.

Always taking "vacations" with your money. Stalls, does a lot of "busy work" and slick talking to make sure it looks like he's doing something. Commits perjury overall good lawyer if you are a deadbeat trying to make it look like you are not. So really 3 stars. but 1 star for honest parents.

They handled a major custody issue with me, my ex-husband and my kids. I worked specifically with Alexandra Michelson and her team. She was efficient , thorough and empathic to clearly highly emotional situation, she knows the laws and she and her team were prepared and organized especially the days of trial. I was so relieved to be working with someone I could trust to make sure my kids and I could be safe and have someone on our side of the table working with us for the best outcome of my family. I am so grateful for this law firm and their entire team! She knew the system and the folks in the judicial system to make sure we had all we needed to present ourselves in court fairly and concisely. Thank you to this entire team.

Alexandra Michelson and her team are absolutely extraordinary. I needed to get full custody of my kids because my exhusband was no longer able to safely have our kids. Obviously this is a heartbreaking and stressful thing for my whole family. Alexandra was thorough, informed, empathetic and timely. She and her team clearly know the system and what needed to happen. It is so tough to navigate the system and know what needed to happen when. I always felt heard and knew that Alexandra was going to be fair and firm. It was such a relief to finally have a team of people that were on our side and were fighting for my kids. I was able to ask the questions I needed and gratefully I was granted full custody. The entire team was timely and organized, thoughtful and efficient. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

When I entered into an agreement to be represented by Virginia “Ginny” Knudson, I expected aggressive representation of the facts and the law on my behalf based on MN guidelines. What I got was the complete opposite, mediocre representation with no concern for the law throughout the process, and when I expected Ginny to engage, she did as little as possible to benefit my case.

My divorce was extremely complicated due to multiple properties, businesses, wealth and most importantly, the wellness of my children. Christine fought for me and neutralized the static coming from the other side. In the end and after a long drawn out divorce, I was able to maintain majority custody of my children. As a male, this was a huge victory! I would highly recommend Christina!

Ms. Denton took my case when I had a last minute, urgent situation, and has stuck with me through the end. She knows her family law. I chose Ms. Denton because of her reputation advocating for women in unsafe situations. I have enjoyed working with Ms. Denton through the years. The great thing about Tim Simonson is he really only works in one area of the law which is child custody and because of this has a fair amount of knowledge and skills in this area and a good amount of passion for his work. He is approachable, professional, and I only gave him four (out of five) stars since I think he needs another decade to be top notch in this field and the work he did for me was good but not exceptional.

My name Marta. I am from Ukraine. I had two lawyers. They humiliated my dignity, threatened me that my husband was deported me from America if I do not sign the divorce papers on his terms. I left those not professionals. I accidentally met Tim and only 2 hours free work with me, he gave me the information did not provide my former lawyers. Tim give me great hope faith. Later, I will write about our work results.

Tim Simonson changed my families lives for the better. Does Tim sound like he knows what he is talking about? Check Does Tim explain it calmly to you so you can feel confident in the next step of your case? Check Does Tim keep his emotions in check so that he can work on the case to the best of his abilities? Check Things to look for in a lawyer is being comfortable around them which is easy around Tim. A clear structure of payments due which is broken down per bill. Plenty of communication and availability which is what you will get from Tim. I can call Tim right now and fully expect he'd pick up the phone. In the off chance he's already with a client I'll get a call back within the hour. He's awesome. Heck our Judge had no idea what they were doing and was making the wrong calls according to the law. A lesser lawyer would have LOST that case and my family would be split right now in two different states. Tim set that Judge straight. Think about that. That Judge has to have a Giant sized Ego at this point and the last thing on earth they want to do is admit they were wrong. That's quite the uphill battle but we're all together here because he was up to the challenge. The internet can be a negative place sometimes. Go look at the "Yelp" reviews for your favorite restaurant. Search by rating then hit it again to get the lowest ratings first....go ahead...I'll wait. Back, good. Notice how many people HATE your favorite restaurant, sad isn't it. Which is why you can't use online reviews for anything, even this one. You have to go do this in person. Go meet with Tim and you'll be happy you did.

Was looking for a tribunal lawyer in a person injury case at a hotel or a lawyer that would take on a case against the tribunal system, sadly most won't because they have there own laws and ways on tribunal land they don't gotta follow our courts laws, so it's difficult to find a lawyer when they're not going to be able to make any money cause your likely to loose unfortunately.

She is very unprofessional and want to push people to court to get the most of someone's money, she doesn't care about your children's emotions of parents going to a court room the fights and arguments, all she cares about is a potential win for her. She is not concerned about how bad or how much worst she is personally making it for you and the other ex, she is not someone who should handle family cases

Did not feel she presented the facts accurately nor was she fighting for the best interest of her client. Argumentative, did not return phone calls for weeks, secretary was unable to assist with questions. Did not keep me informed about the status of the case.
