Theresa is as close to flawless as she could possibly be. Any mistake she makes it doesn’t matter because she does so well on everything else that what she misses doesn’t even matter in the end. She knows your case so good that she remembers parts that you forget. She has your back like she’s your sister or your mother. I have a complicated case, and I will never use another lawyer, besides Rebecca Baer who I used them simultaneously and they coordinated my two cases perfectly. These two can’t be described as anything less then my legal “danger team” as my young sons would call themselves. They are both my role models. They have a very high standard of legal care. You won’t be disappointed. I almost don’t want to write such a highly regarded review because no one can possibly be this perfect for everyone, and I don’t want them to have to much pressure so they are not able to continue providing this standard of legal care. But they both outdid themselves and made it look easy, which easy is the last thing that it could have been. True Queens.

I found Theresa by a google search for local divorce attorneys to me. I read all about and I did research others too, but I decided to have a consult with Theresa. Well my consult turned into me hiring her!! She’s amazing! She is straight to the point, very direct, doesn’t like to waste time, or even my money!! Bonus for me!! Anytime I had questions, I would email her admin and she usually answered my questions at N/C, and if she felt Theresa needed to handle it then she sent it to her. She always had my best interests first and foremost. I really appreciated her no nonsense way of doing business!! She really knows the Law and is exceptional at what she does. In addition she has written up a will for myself and updated my mother’s will. I absolutely recommend to anyone who needs an attorney!!!!!

Kelly was very helpful and always kept us up to date on what was going on with our bankruptcy case. She answered all of our questions no matter how silly they may have been. Maria handled my messy divorce and 5 years of residual issues in a concise manner with knowledge, fairness (to all parties involved) and with a calmness that help me get though those difficult years. I never felt in the dark, Maria always took the time to explain the why's, how's and possible outcomes. No matter what curve ball my ex threw, Maria had already laid the ground work or was able develop a plan that prevailed in the end. Maria's method of maintaining the highroad, sticking to the facts, made my divorce much less ugly. You can't go wrong retaining Maria Maier as your attorney.

I can't begin to express how amazing Maria was in handling my case. I filed for divorce in August of 2009 and my ex-wife immediately began an unimaginable mud-slinging campaign in an effort to gain sole custody of our children. I wanted to reply in kind and engage in that battle to refute all the lies my ex was putting forth. But, Maria had a great game plan which she came up with after our first court appearance. We would simply stick to the facts. At first, it was difficult to sit back and let my character be assassinated time and time again. However, it was very easy to trust the strategy that Maria had in place. There were several times during my case that the outlook seemed bleak. I would get uptight, panicked or nervous. Maria was always there to explain the divorce process and tell me why we need to maintain our strategy. She was always available to answer any question, no matter how trivial it might have been. She would explain in detail why things were relevant to the court. Even if I had naïve questions like as why they were relevant, Maria explained how my course of action be in my best interests (and the best interests of my children) and how my actions would work in my favor in the long run. To say she has a firm grasp on divorce law and the entire divorce process would be a vast understatement. It is now October of 2010 and my case has just concluded. I’m absolutely convinced Maria is part soothsayer. Her strategy played out exactly as we had discussed back in 2009. The custody evaluation worked out in my favor, just as Maria said it would. The judge saw through the mudslinging of my ex and focused on the facts, just as Maria said she would. While there are no winners in a divorce, I feel truly vindicated that I stuck to my convictions (thanks to Maria’s guidance) and the judge ruled very heavily in my favor. This was the first instance I needed a lawyer for more than one day. I am absolutely elated that I chose Maria Maier to be that lawyer. Her expertise and guidance helped me through a very difficult transition in my life. I wouldn’t wish a divorce on anybody, but I would highly recommend Maria to anyone who needs an expert lawyer on their side should they find themselves facing a divorce. Thanks Maria!!

Reggie was always very professional and helpful with guidance throughout this ordeal. When prosecutor offered us some options Reggie helped us to understand all of the possible consequences of agreeing with them. We followed his recommendations of staying on the original path that we had talked about. The end result of aquittal was exactly as he predicted. In July of 2013 my world was shattered when I learned that my husband was not only cheating on me, but had moved our family to his home state of Minnesota to alienate me from my family and friends and divorce me. With my family and friends 1400 miles away, I turned to the internet and found Richard Caldecott. Richard was kind and empathetic. He also pointed out he had been practicing family law for more than 33 years. I told Rick that all I wanted was to go home to New Hampshire. We had barely lived in Minnesota a year. Rick told me interstate custody was tough, costly and there was no guarantee. He never promised me a win. He was highly efficient in keeping MY costs down. His letters to opposing council were clear and to the point: Our intention was to return to our home in New Hampshire. My ex threatened to fight me for full custody and told me I was going to get a war. Well, Rick was instrumental at letting them know, that I was not raising my children in Minnesota for the next 14 years unless a judge told me I had to. Not long after Mediation, where 2 experienced lawyers agreed, after hearing the facts of the case, that a judge would allow me to return to my home state. Soon after, my ex realized he would not win against Richard Caldecott. As devastating and traumatized as I was through this whirlwind process, Rick and his staff, treated me with kindness, compassion and constantly reassured me that I would be OK. A mere 5 months after I walked into his office sobbing and heartbroken, I left Minnesota to return home to New Hampshire with my children. I was awarded sole physical custody, child support, and we were HOME for Christmas.

My case started off with a nuclear bomb being dropped on me so to say. My case was a very litigious court case for custody with all kinds of false allegations and OFPs continuously placed against me from my ex-wife. Richard Caldecott methodically tore the case down one piece at a time. I started with no custody rights due to my rights being stripped from me at the beginning. I even had to see my children in a closed environment with professionals standing over me. This was the most humiliating experience I have ever had to withstand since I have was always been in the public eye. The professionals in this environment had already prequalified me as guilty of allegations not even in the realm of reality; so you can only imagine their treatment towards me. With all of the above said at the end; I was awarded full “SOLE LEGAL” custody; even being in Anoka County where the county custody intake women told me “men do not have custody”! Richard is a shining star amongst a bunch of big shot money sucking attorneys I had hired prior. His billing practice is more than fair and he is there for you when you need him the most. His ability to craft letters to explain what is really going on is beyond stellar. I would like to thank my luck stars that I found Richard Caldecott and the friend that referred me. This short letter comes from a parent that now has an amazing relationship with his two children that will last a lifetime. I found Michael to be thorough, engaged and realistic. To watch him in court or at depositions is amazing. He KNOWS your case and it shows. Other over priced Attorneys shuffle through notes and seem to barely understand the case or issues when in a courtroom setting. Michael is sharp, quick on his feet and thoroughly knowledgeable of the case. Michael has an experienced and dedicated staff to back him up. Eileen Krenner represented me in two situations after my divorce. I was somewhat disappointed with my prior attorney, and learned about Eileen through a colleague. What we appreciate so much about her approach is that she was always able to clearly explain the law and my rights and the rights of my children, but also able to calibrate based on my desire to try and maintain a healthy co-parenting relationship with my ex-husband. Once Doug had read my district court case he knew he could overturn it. Through our conversations on the phone I could tell Doug was passionate about law and justice. He worked extra hours on our case to create a brief that no Judge could deny. When I finally had the opportunity to meet and hear Doug argue at oral panel, he sealed it for me in more ways than one. I sought out Nicole to help me in my messy child custody case. My two children and I were in a very difficult situation, where the safety of my children were at risk. Nicole took the time to meet with me and see all previous documents from previous lawyers and mediations. She took the time to learn our case and come up with a plan to be able to ensure my childrens best interest. She was always a phone call away when I needed legal advice and help in hard situations through this entire process. She knew every single law and process that we would go through and she explained it to me all along the way so that I always knew what to expect. She fought for the safety and well being of my children through and through. She was by my side for multiple tough mediations and she always stayed stoic, strong, steadfast, and she would not be bullied around. She also made sure that if I was being unrealistic she made sure that she told me the hard things so that I was prepared for every scenario we could go through in this process. She is absolutely hands down the best child custody lawyer. She cares, she is smart, she is understanding, patient, she gives everything into her cases. I knew during the time that we were going through our custody case she had other cases going on in her life, but she was always available to help me. She made this really really scary process seem doable because she walked me through it and constantly cared/checked in on us. Fast forward through our custody battle, and she was then my lawyer for our childrens adoption. It was such a beautiful thing to be able to share that day with the woman that made it possible, Nicole Hines. If you are looking for someone who knows child and family law, and need someone who will hear your story and help, she is the person you need. She is such an amazing person who works so very hard for her clients. I can't explain that enough, she cares! She also is beyond smart. She knows the law and knows how to make sure it is applied in all situations. Without Nicole Hines I know our child custody case would not have had the amazing outcome that it had. Dawn is an amazing attorney who listens to your needs and doesn’t treat you like another dollar. Her clients always comes first (male or female). She handles your case swiftly at a reasonable price. She handled my daughter’s divorce and it was difficult because the other side refused to get an attorney himself and he also didn’t know the law and thought if he did nothing that nothing would happen. Needless to say my daughter won and she didn’t go broke to do it. Definitely want her as your family court attorney.

Jim is a true professional, he know's every angle when dealing with defiant renters. Jim totally took over a bad situation, without him everything would have been at a standstill. I rented my beautiful home in Hibbing a couple of years ago and moved back to my home state, all was fine for the first year and a half, after that the renter lost his job and eventually quit paying rent and refused to kindly leave my home. I gave him time to catch up on the money he owed, he ignored that request and stopped taking phone calls and eventually text messages - I was totally in the dark about what was going on in my home, the neighbors would tell me what they saw but that was all. The renter at this ;point was 4 mos behind, I then called Sellman Law Office and talked to Jim, I felt at ease from that moment on. Jim took over and filed a 14 Day Notice To Quit - the renter ignored it, Jim then filed an eviction notice and took the renter to court on my behalf, thanks to Jim the Judge ordered the renter out in 4 days! The renter again ignored! JIm then filed a writ -the renter arrogant and defiant has now vacated. This is a 5 Star Attorney, he is fast on his feet in situations, answers your emails and calls, he is on it, and keeps in touch!

Jim is definitely on the ball! From the starting gate, he was willing to listen and see through my drug and criminal history to recognize the success I have had in changing my life in the last 7 years. He accepted late evening phone calls, and prepared several Affidavits and Motions very late in the night for my review and signature. He was also very cool and collected when I was all fired up about my son's Mothers activities. Jim is willing to do the extra mile to make sure things are done correctly the first time. From the beginning of my custody case, through to the end, Jim was there to fight for my rights, guide me through the legal maze, and steered us away from a very lengthy and expensive trial. I was awarded Temporary Physical and Legal Custody on an Ex Parte Motion, and then awarded Joint Legal and Joint Physical Custody, with my son in my care. I had a run in with the Eagan police over my temporary tags. Mr. Carlson was recommended to me by my boss because his sons had been in trouble. I was looking at a Grand Misdemeanor which would have been a problem in future employment. Jim worked with the prosecutor and got me a continuance which will disappear off my record in a year. Jim was highly responsive and aggressively pursued a fair verdict. He is well-connected and liked even by his adversaries. He has common sense and a sense of humor that no doubt helped cut through the rediculuous nature of my case. I would recommend him to anyone in a similar situation.

Megan assisted me in perhaps the hardest time of my life regarding my divorce and specifically my child custody battle. She was honest with me regarding my position in the case and what results I could expect. Her knowledge of child custody laws was vast and I felt that I was represented by a professional who could safely guide me through emotional muddy waters. I would recommend her to anyone who has to suffer thru a divorce, especially if there are children involved. Megan listened to my questions, calmed my fears and stayed in constant communication with me throughout the process. Rarely was I left wondering "what's next?". I consider my choice of her as my legal representation and council the correct one and feel that she truly cared about me and my case. On a lighter note.... I was impressed with her "yanking of the reigns" at times during my case. Most divorces are messy and emotional. There were times I had "fight" in me that would have cost me both financially and emotionally. This fight would have likely yielded unwanted results in the end. Mr. Braun was my lawyer. I hired him for a restraining order against the person who sexually assaulted me brutally. I was just 16. Not only did he get the job done in the best way possible, he made sure I was okay the entire time and didn't let anyone bully me in court. We won. I was relieved and frankly he had saved my life. Getting that guy away from me was the best thing ever. Do not hesitate, hire this guy. He is awesome. Professional, compassionate, and extremely efficient. Tom represented me last year in a domestic abuse case where my ex-girlfriend accused me of abusing her. Tom was professional and aggressive in my defense. The jury found me not guilty after only 45 mintues of deliberation. I would highly reccomend Tom to anyone accused of a crime.

When I got charged, I feel like I talked to every attorney in Southern Minnesota. Mark was patient from the beginning and was completely open about his fees and his thoughts on the legal process that I would face. I hired him and it was the best decision I made. He found problems with the case that I would have never known about. When there were things that I didn't understand, he took the time to walk me through the explanation. I always appreciated that he wasn't afraid to give me "bad news." Fortunately, he was also able to give me great news when all the charges I was facing were dismissed after a hearing where Mark argued that the charges violated my rights.

After many years in the family court system, I finally found an attorney that would best represent the needs and wishes of my children.
