Michael McPartlan is a talented strategic lawyer in family court, and he is an attorney of high integrity and character.
He was a saving grace in my brutally difficult situation in family court, and my terribly difficult case was not in good hands until it was in his. I wish I had found him sooner.
His communication availability is excellent as well. Ive had experiences with other attorneys, prior to learning how to find a good attorney, where they have taken days to get back to you or give advice of little comfort , value , or use; or that other attorney communications have to go through chains of command first and bill for ANY menial communication , which makes one eventually question what the priority is - billing or the client’s case. McPartlan makes you and your case a priority.
I once learned too late that some attorneys charge for meaningless work they do bc they have to bill in order to keep their jobs at a firm. We had an unfortunate situation with our landlord who didn't comply with the NY State laws and was completely negligent. Throughout a long, drawn out case, Courtney has been great. She dealt with the insurance carrier and one of the largest international corporations ably and deftly including last minute demands from the company for which she extracted additional compensation. Excellent advice at every turn. When we finally settled, she obtained for me a larger settlement than I had expected. Easy to work with and talk to, but a real pit bull for you when needed. She will not gouge on the fees either. I would recommend her to anyone and will be hiring her again soon for another matter I am dealing with.

Gail Kenowitz is extraordinary! I divorced in 1991 and, at that time, I was too stressed to even think about the future. I remember telling her at that time that I did not care about his pension and wanted nothing from him. I remember her standing in her office with her hand on her hip saying
“I will not allow you to do this - you may need it someday”. Move forward to 2018. When it was time for my ex husband to retire he had to give me part of his pension. I was contacted by Marisel when I paid for a 15 minute advice session on Avvo. My wife and I were in the middle of a family based immigration petition when the lawyer that we had hired basically forgot about our case, causing a delay of 2-3 months. We had continued the process ourselves, but that left me feeling a little nervous and with some questions. Marisel was kind, patient and well-informed. She was good at assessing our situation and gave me level-headed advice. She did not exaggerate or create scary scenarios. Our petition was almost done at that point, and everything seemed in order, so we opted to complete the process without a lawyer.
