Divorce, synonymous with stress, sadness, anxiety, etc. and it is true that going though that path is difficult to endure, I personally have just gone through that path with the help of two tremendous professionals, attorney Steve L. August and paralegal Jo.

My experience Andrew Korduba as my legal counsel was excellent. I was changed with multiple misdemeanor offenses in Medina, Ohio, known to be one of the harshest charging and sentencing areas in the State of Ohio. Mr. Korduba particularly excelled in dealing with the Medina Prosecutors Office to reduce the criminal charges, which more accurately aligned with the incident itself. Due to Mr. Korduba's negotiating skill and diligence, I received no jail time and no probation. I can see why he is one of the most well-respected attorneys in Medina, Ohio.

In 2010 I found myself being charged with 6 felonies. I had never even had a speeding ticket and didn’t know the difference between a felony and a misdemeanor. I literally chose Attorney Smith at random out of the phone book. He not only met me for case discussion but also made sure to keep every meeting and/or scheduled meeting with the police, as well as attended every court hearing. In the end, my original charges (6 felonies) were all reduced to 1 Disorderly Conduct, a 4th degree misdemeanor. To say he is anything but a Godsend would be an insult. I will recommend Attorney Smith to anyone who is looking for an attorney and I will not hesitate to call him if need be in the future. Ross represented me years ago for a criminal case and to say the least he got me a deal that i thought was impossible!! During that case he even went to lisbon and got a driving charge dismissed for nothing!! This man ran into my mother and sister and she had her 2 children with her at apple bees he came over said hello to them as a professional does then when my mother went to pay the bill she was told he had paid it already!! I hired Kristine a little over two years ago after firing an attorney who had actively made a complete disaster out of my case. Kristine instantly got to work on cleaning up the mess I was left with……and to date, she is still working as ferociously as she began. I cannot say enough good things about Kristine but will attempt to do so here.
Communication – Kristine is SO on top of communication, and not just with me, but with anything that comes her way about my case. She is constantly checking the court docket and has even relayed information about other cases that I have been dragged into before I even knew it. She copies me on all correspondence about my case to GALS, attorney’s, mediators, and even court administrators. I am never left in the dark about my case with Kristine. There are no surprises when I head to a hearing or trial. She makes no decisions without my input. Any meeting that occurred in chambers or on conference calls, she will immediately relay all that was discussed while I was not present. There have been times during after-hours or on weekends and even holidays where I have needed Kristine, and she has never turned me away.
Motions – Kristine is a wordsmith. She writes excellent motions and has a knack for cleverly delivering just what I need conveyed. She never submits or files anything without my approval. Even if it drives her nuts (which she never lets on to)…..she allows me change the motions until I am fully satisfied. She never gives me grief about it, even if I want to edit it five times. She is patient and truly understands that this is my life, and these things are important to me.
Conduct in trails or at hearings – Kristine is fantastic on her feet. I recently had a VERY important hearing that was granted by the skin of our teeth. At the end of the hearing the Judge asked Kristine and the opposing attorney if they would like to close with a statement. Kristine had nothing written. She spoke completely from her heart and head about my case. Her knowledge of the case was so clear that everything she was saying came out natural and genuine. She knocked it out of the park for me at that hearing, and I am sure that her closing words helped to solidify the favorable outcome that I received after that hearing.
Knowledge of your case – I am continuously impressed with Kristine’s innate ability to retain information about my case. This is such a rare quality in an attorney. Most attorney’s treat you like you are just one of hundreds of clients and they can’t recall anything about your case without referencing an email or note. Not Kristine, she has it all right in her head and at times she has even reminded ME of things about my case that I had forgotten. It’s incredibly helpful to have an attorney who absorbs information about your case, especially when it comes to cross examining witnesses!
Going to bat – She is no doubt a feisty Italian from Boston, need I say more? In my case, my ex is a terror. It feels good to have Kristine observe that and truly understand the crux of who is the cause of most of our issues, and therefore is not afraid to stand up for me, or “go to combat” with my ex on the stand when he is being pompous and impossible.
General care – I went through one of the toughest years of my life. It is not an exaggeration when I say that I could not have made it through without Kristine. She did everything in her power for me when I was at my lowest points in this case. She has gotten to know my family. She believes in me; she believes in my case. Even when I had just had my baby and an important court date was coming up, she came to my home for a meeting, so I didn’t have to find childcare and leave my newborn. She has genuine empathy when things are bad and is right there to rejoice with you when things are good. Kristine is not just my attorney; she has become my friend.
Just hire her. I promise you will not be disappointed in her abilities to fight for you.

Brian represented me many years ago in a high conflict custody case. I went through my share of lawyers and was almost always disappointed. I got to a point I didnt know whom to trust. I first consulted with Ron Petroff around September 2021. I was informed of the difficulties that my case presented to me and was told how he would begin to represent me and what the plan of attack was AND WHY. Mr. Gottfried handled my case for three years now. My son’s mom filed to reduce my time, which we had 50/50 for the last seven years before she filed. Meeting with Mr. Gottfried for the first time I knew he was my guy.
He is very prompt in returning calls and e-mails and I can say this promptness has not dropped the slightest over the last three years (even on his days off). He made sure when the trial date finally came that we had everything lined up to negate everything she filed plus things that could come up in trial so we were ready to present them to fight. He makes sure you are prepared for any questions and have evidence to back you up.
We have gone through a magistrate appeal and now seven more months later it is looking like she will appeal the judge’s decision. Not only did Mr Gottfried have a rebuttal for all of her bogus claims, we actually asked for an additional over night to which it was granted.
When this is dragged out over three years so far, there are times to which you question yourself. Mr Gottfried would reassure me and talk me down from those times. He is honest with you, some attorneys are there to collect a check, but not him. He gave me his opinion when I asked, based off his career in these cases, but also said it’s up to you Brad.
I cannot say enough about him or give him the praise he deserves. I have referred friends to him because he is the best…period!
If you are in need of an attorney for custody cases, call him. You will not be disappointed, trust me.

April is my attorney, and we recently closed a filing process in my divorce (originally finalized in 2013; reopened for modifications).
She is an outlier in a sea of “yeah I can get that for you…now give me your retainer fee” attorneys.
She doesn’t make flippant promises about results, which is so refreshing. My daughter’s best interests were, and continue to be, at the top of April’s concern. She cares about her clients, doesn’t put up with underhanded antics, and fights for the RIGHT thing. I can’t emphasize that enough.
Even if it’s not exactly what I had in mind, April put so much in proper perspective for me, and supported me mentally as I navigated different emotions.
