I met with Todd Kotler to assist me with obtaining a Letter of Authority for the estate of my deceased spouse. I had explained what I needed by phone, prior to this meeting, and he said he could help with that. He was late and unprepared for our meeting, without apology. When he learned there were basically no personal assets to report, and I just needed the LOA to get the medical records of my deceased spouse, he asked if I was planning to file a wrongful death action. I explained I was having a medical lawyer review the records at this point. He then had a cryptic conversation with his paralegal about fees, then insisted that he would have to open and close probate, and coordinate that with the other attorney. He advised me to list $100,000 as personal assets for my deceased spouse, which is completely false, in anticipation of a lawsuit award that may not ever happen. He then claimed he would be entitled to 4% of any potential settlement for which he would have had no part in litigating. I ended the meeting at that point and consulted another estate attorney. He was shocked that Mr. Kotler would take advantage of someone in a tragic situation. He said there was a very simple way for me to obtain the medical records without unnecessarily opening probate, and explained exactly what to do, at no charge. How unethical and desperate do you have to be to exploit someone who is grieving? In my opinion, Todd Kotler is a very small, arrogant, unethical man, out to line his own pockets. If I decide to file a wrongful death action, I will certainly not hire Mr. Kotler to handle probate.

Told me what I wanted to hear to defend my case then when he showed up to court for me after I paid him a $500 deductible all he did was get my court extended and after I told him I had all the evidence to prove my innocence he just wanted me to plead down and then he dropped me as a client after he took my $500 I would never recommend this man to another person because he will not get you out of jail he will just plead you down

I recently hired Roger to help me revise my custody arrangement for my two children. I am extremely happy with the results as well as the entire management of my case from start to finish. I am confident this is the last time I’ll have to return to court regarding the custody of my minor children as Roger was so effective in resolving the case to their benefit. I would highly recommend Roger to anyone dealing with a difficult custody situation. You have to be willing to listen to Roger’s advice and expertise. He knows the ins and outs of the court system, understands the tough relationship dynamics at play in divorce and custody agreements, and will be your best advocate as long as you are willing to do your part as well!
I also really appreciated Roger’s use of the MyCase software. This web-based platform contained all of our appointments, communication, files, invoices, etc. He kept everything very organized on the site and I always knew what was the status of the case, the next steps, and what to expect. The transparency on my case was very important! Best experience I’ve ever had with case management.
And as a bonus… before I worked with Roger, I had a lot of anxiety surrounding attorneys, similar to the “white coat syndrome” that many people experience around doctors. Roger calmed my anxiety not just in regards to my custody case, but also my anxiety around attorneys in general. He is not just a great attorney, but a great human and it shows in all that he does. He made me so comfortable, I’m now in a serious relationship with a wonderful man who also happens to be an attorney!

I met Mr. Peller in 2018, I found Ken’s contact online after talking and meeting with several lawyers. When I first met with ken, I felt I finally find the right person. Till today, I have been feeling fortunate and greatful that I found him and made the decision to have him as my attorney.
Ken is a great attorney with lots of experience. He truly listened to me, to what I wanted and to what I had concern about then give me his advise. What’s more than that is he also thought from the child’s perspective, sometimes he would just think and talk like a friend of mine, if not an attorney. We would walk through the impact of the case direction to the kid, including what’s several years down the road.
Ken has his own law firm, I can get in contact with him directly. Ken replies phone calls as soon as he can If he missed one. And the email exchanges with Ken were also on time and informational.
My case involved a young child and last over a year, it was a difficult time especially when the other party was using what he knew about the law telling lies, threatening and harassing me. But I could always get assured from Ken that the other party did not have a stand at all. And it was proven that he was right every time.
My case had to go to the court after all. In a nutshell, Ken had prepared me and the case really well, his performance on the court went beyond my expectation. Finally, we won. Property was divided fairly. Most importantly, I got the kind of custody I wanted for my child.
I will definitely recommend Ken to the people I know who needs help and advise.

Mr. Peller is my lawyer and helped me through a complex and difficult divorce. He is very calm and professional. He has a lot of experience and knows the important issues. He is a very good listener. He asked the right questions and collected the all the relevant information. When we first met, I was still in the initial emotional stage and he helped me get through this and begin moving towards the logical fact-based issues that needed to be dealt with. He kept me appraised of what my rights were and that there were limits to how much could be taken from me. He easily explained when my spouse was asking for things that would never stand up in court. We did not have to go to court. We ended up doing a dissolution. The finalized divorce was favorable to me and very fair compared to what my spouse wanted. He is a good man and I consider him my friend. I would highly recommend Mr. Peller. He will guide you through a very difficult situation and always give the best advice and protect your interests.

I have known Jimmy for a year now as he has handled all aspects of my divorce, one of the roughest I have experienced, winning the case with minimal damages at the end. He even keeps the other lawyer in check if they are on the opposing side, several times over the course of my divorce he swooped in like Zoro keeping things fair and professional. If you want to win the case or have minimal damages Jimmy is the lawyer to have in your corner. PERIOD!
I highly recommend if you are about to divorce hire Jimmy immediately don't hesitate. Very thorough and knows which way to advise you based on his many years of experience.

What can I not say about the guidance Jimmy provided me during my 4 year long debate/divorce. Things weren't going well in my marriage and a friend suggested I reach out to Jimmy and I did. We had previous history together, but not under these circumstances.
He invited me to his office and spent well over an hour with me explaining the entire process. Jimmy was patient, as I attempted to save my marriage time and time again, till I knew it wasn't going to work no matter what I did, as it takes 2 people to make a marriage work.
Jimmy offered to represent me and my interest and suggested for me to reach out to my wife to address all legal proceedings
to use him to cut out court and legal representation fees as much as possible. Jimmy's goal is wanting the best for both parties during this trying time in our lives. She chose her own counsel which is fine.
The thing that sticks out the most to me was his guidance throughout this process. Paraphrasing: "Tempers are going to flare and ugliness may come out at any point. You need to be in control of your response/reactions as best as you can, always! You only have one divorce and how will others remember it? It's important not only for you, but for your daughter. The both of you will be forever connected because of your daughter. Watch what you say and if you need to leave before you do something you'll regret, do it and call me, anytime. Your daughter and her mother will thank you when she gets older."
Jimmy represented me well throughout the entire process when I was unable to attend court on certain occasions. I would recommend Jimmy to friends, family and even strangers who want to have a great aid/advisor during a challenging time.
My divorce is complete and my Ex and I have a great respect for one another. We communicate regularly and openly as we put our differences aside and give our attention to our young daughter who needs both of her parents.

My friend worked with Jeremy on his divorce thus recommended him to me, which I now thank him for. Working with Jeremy was not like working with a cold lawyer. It feels like working with a friend who happens to be a lawyer. His work style is very professional but friendly and approachable. Even though he had tons of cases and court work, he always did his best to be flexible, accommodate my schedule and respond my emails promptly. I cannot think of any moment with him that made me nervous or uncomfortable. I was not an expert on divorce (who is?) and had a lot of silly and basic questions on how things should work. And I freaked out several time when things from my ex’s side surprised me, Jeremy was always very patient and helpful to answer my questions, and give me professional and personal advice.
During the course, I changed job twice and had to put the case on hold, which created some additional work for him. At a point, my ex’s lawyer totally dropped the ball. I am very thankful that he was very nicely and patiently helping me with my paperwork and instructed me on how to handle such situation. Opposite to my ex’s lawyer who was only reactive, Jeremy took proactive actions to help move this case forward to the direction that benefited me. At the end of the case, I am fully confident in his expertise, professional knowledge, and experience. More importantly, I see him as a trusted friend with nice personality and a beautiful heart. I certainly don’t want myself or my friends to get involved in legal matters. But if we do, Jeremy will absolutely be my go-to-person and I will be absolutely confident and proud to recommend him to my friends, because having Jeremy will be our best choice.

I would like to echo what has been said in the other reviews and add that Hans has the rare combination of being an extremely ethical and personable attorney. His legal skills and knowledge are outstanding but even those are overshadowed by his interpersonal skills. He had the ability to deal with opposing counsel's atrocious behavior and prevent my case from going to trial, but still was able to obtain an advantageous settlement for me. Truly, it is amazing to watch him work. He has an incredible memory and a keen sense of how to handle people in a warm and personable manner. He has a reputation in the court system for being an ethical and courteous person, yet not someone who can be taken advantage of. He is an extremely hard worker, and was able to implement my wishes as much as humanly possible based on my initial and subsequent interviews with him. It was very comforting to have him working on my side during the worst year of my life. I cannot begin to express how thankful I am for his help.

Gretchen was 100 percent on my side from the minute we met! I was wrongfully accused of 2 major felonies and could have been put in prison for a long time! Gretchen went above and beyond what a public defender would ever do! She stayed in contact with my family and friends to keep me updated while I was behind bars! In 2014 paid cash for our house. It was a bank owned property so the price was great. In the contract we knew that there was a tax year that hadn't been paid and we would be responsible for it. I absolutely forgot all about it...YES, MY FAULT..... and just paid our taxes every six months. In 2017 a place called Tax Ease was trying to take the house because they had bought the tax lien. I set up a payment plan with them and began making monthly payments. After paying for a year or more, the county sheriffs were at my door and served me foreclosure paperwork. The taxes that needed to be paid were from 2013. Come to find out that now there were 2 liens on the house because the year in question was split into 2 different "tax certificates" and the had bought them both. They are crooks !!! Anyway, I hired Peter who finally got them to give me a contract and payment plan the included everything. Peter saved my house. Thanks Peter.

When first approaching my divorce I must have tried meeting every lawyer I possibly could in order to find the right fit. I ended up knowing right when meeting him that this was the person I wanted to represent me in my battle that was going to be the worst thing I had ever in my life went threw. I walked in his office with a ton of anger from not being able to see my kids and all the false information being said about me. By the 3rd time I seen him I had my head firmly secured and was able to focus 100% on my goals. He was only a attorney yet made such a HUGE positive impact and set me and my children on the right path and not simply because he was being paid to do so. At many times he showed his genuine care, compassion and understanding. My kids grew to know his name and are still to this day very thankful for him. If you need a family law attorney, i highly recommend speaking with Damon Halverson before seeing other counsel. I recently had a death in the family and my nephews were unjustly taken out of state to a relative who were formerly known child abusers. Even though i never hired him he spent at least an hour and a half of his time and shared his wisdom with me on what i should do. I felt he was very honest and extremely knowledgeable pertaining to my circumstances. Due to not being able to enforce a custody order out of state, Damon at least referred me to someone that he thought could help with the attorney being licensed out of state as well as ohio.
