I retained Larry in 2017 for an assult 2 case. He didn't properly communicate over the phone, return phone calls or do anything he said he would, he always had an excuse for why he didn't do his job....I served 70 months due to his lack of negotiation skills. He made no effort to get me a better plea deal. I've talked to other attorneys who have told me I should have been convicted of assult 3 and served 2-3 years. Please listen and don't retain him for yourself or your family. I have met many of his clients he represented that had this same experience...fair warning!!! You don't want to serve way more time then necessary.

Chris took on my case with great professionalism, compassion and provided invaluable support throughout the process. He not only alleviated my concerns but also counter sued on my behalf. Walking through divorce is the absolute worst, but Natalie and her team make it so much simpler and manageable. In the legal world where it all seems overwhelming and confusing, she me feel able to cope and understand what was in front of me. They prepared me for each step along the way. Natalie sought to understand what my priorities were from the very beginning and never backed down from fighting for those things. She always spoke truth, even when it was hard to hear, and constantly reminded me not to speculate but rather focus on what was in front of me. I was referred to Ralph about an auto accident claim from another professional. Ralph took a number of weeks to respond to my initial contact and asked that I send him over all the information from my case. After receiving this he told me he'd get back to me by the end of the week. 4 weeks later he left me a VM saying he couldn't take my case. He asked that I call him back so we could talk about it a bit more and I tried calling and e-mailing to get a hold of him and he completely ghosted me and never responded again. I work in the professional services industry and this is a huge RED FLAG and terrible professionalism. I caution anyone looking for an attorney to avoid engaging his services and find a professional who will actually communicate like one.

Improperly served me and put the wrong email address down. Will use any means to win a case and utilize shady casework. Case documents don't match Oregon State statutes and inconsistent case writing. Will be suing.

Blaine and his team are the most knowledgeable, determined, educated team I have ever worked with. I had been turned down by lawyers for my custody case telling me I didn’t have a chance and they wouldn’t take it. Blaine told me they would take it and try their best. And that they did. We walked out of the court room with everything we wanted and more. In the midst of all my panic Blaine made me feel calm, reassured and ready to fight for what I wanted, when before I was scared and thought I had no chance of winning. I’m forever thankful for Blaine and his team. I suggest them to everyone I know!

Brett counseled me prior to and during all of my divorce proceedings. He was great at helping me understand what was vital versus minutiae when it came to finalizing the parenting plan and divorce decree. He was prepared and also had me prepared with all of my financial, business, and personal documents needed for the mediation. He had a great relationship with the mediator we used and knew how to deal with the personality types of my ex and her attorney. Brett has seen pretty much everything in the family law arena and has the humorous stories to prove it and help soothe you when the emotions start to get the worst of you. Brett is a great person and an awesome family law attorney. You will feel confident using Brett for any family law matter you have. I know I did.

I have retained Devin twice now in an on going custody battle. Each time we have won. Both court appearances involved the enforcement of parenting time filed from my child’s father. The second appearance was much more complex. I had chosen to leave the state with my child although there was an existing parenting plan and court order in place. Although I had very good reasons to relocate, I had a good chance of being in a lot of trouble with the courts if I didn’t have Devin on my side to articulate to the courts that it was in my child’s best interest. Trying to relocate to a different state with a child is one of the hardest and almost impossible things to accomplish. And Devin came into the court room well prepared and exceeded all of my expectations. Ultimately the judge did not order me or my child back to Oregon, I was not ordered to make up any parenting time (it had been over a year since my daughter saw her father), and he was given very limited time with our daughter. We were given everything we asked the judge for. I could never thank Devin enough for his expertise and fighting for my daughters safety and well being. When it came to closing arguments in court, I could tell Devin took my case personal. It felt like he really cared, and it wasn’t just “another case” If you are looking for an amazing attorney that is knowledgeable and that will fight for you, it is Devin!

I hired Mr Driver as my attorney to represent me for an increase in parenting time with my 9 year old son. Without a doubt the best money I ever spent. Mr Driver is ethical, hard working and 100% devoted his clients. He is impressive to watch in a court room. Highly recommend his law firm.

I met with Mr. Driver initially for a divorce consult. He was efficient and knowledgeable about the process of divorce and was able to provide direct and clear answers to my questions. I arrived feeling deeply concerned about how to get my divorce done, having struggled with the paperwork myself. Mr. Driver was able to provide calm and clear guidance, demystify the process and simplify the paperwork for me. He was able to communicate with me by email, which allowed me to keep working my full-time job while negotiating divorce paperwork details during breaks. This took a huge load off my shoulders knowing I had someone handling the legal aspect of things and looking out for me. Ultimately the divorce was completed within 2 months, and I am grateful that it was kept simple and amicable. What a relief! Bradley Litchfield is extremely competent and did everything he could to get my husband and I custody of my stepson. He was confident and made us feel that he could do what he told us he would and we felt very comfortable using his judgment. He never promised anything and always told us the downside of every option we had. He and his assistant were always helpful and available to talk for you the most part when we had issues or just needed clarification. Without him, we would have been lost. He is the best lawyer we could have asked for.

If I could give 10 stars out of five, I would. I was involved in a civil case in which my 15 year old son was expected to testify. My son was very nervous about this and so was I. Brad Litchfield accepted the case and we feel so fortunate to have been in his care. I feel certain my case was not the most important matter in his caseload, but he always made me and my son feel as though it was. It was a great pleasure to meet him and to see how professionally and empathetically he handled our case. He is clearly a caring and compassionate person and was respectful to everyone involved. Importantly, I appreciate that he at all times made my son feel informed, at ease, safe, and cared for. And, of course, he won our case!

Ms. Thorpe tried to try to take the easy way out, tried to talk me into to allowing the opposing party to bully me, and get away with requests that didn't make sense. While she may be knowledgeable in basic legal issues, she will NOT fight for you, would rather fight with you to give in, and doesn't seem to care about your best interest. When I retained new counsel, from out of the area, they saw the glaringly obvious, that there was already an agreement in place and the opposing party had no grounds to ask for more! She treated me like I was not worth her time, talked down to me and made me feel absolutely hopeless.

I had a few consultations with other lawyers and wasn't 100% sure about any of them. When it comes to something so important as your child you want to know you did your best to get the best help. I got recommended Amanda by a friend. Within a few minutes of my consultation with Amanda I knew she could help me. My consultation wasn't easy because of what I've been going through. She was understanding, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and very honest with her answers. We aren't finished yet but I'm so very grateful to have her in my corner. If you are considering hiring C.J. Graves as your lawyer, I’d like to share my troubling experience working with him on a parenting plan modification which would result in a child support modification. Now, keep in mind, I have sole legal custody of my son. Unfortunately, C.J. satisfied all of the opposing party's requests for the provisions in the new supplemental judgement. Nothing we discussed and initially agreed between parties when we “settled” out of court was included in the judgement, except for the 50/50 that I agreed to. The opposing party submitted the judgement that they drafted as final. C.J. submitted the response which was disregarded by Judge Bailey and he signed the opposing parties draft as final. This did not include ANY of the agreed upon/revised provisions that we discussed. C.J. found out about this, called me and emailed me and said he wasn’t happy with the new judgment. However, he signed it without my knowledge and approval. From there, he was not able to discuss the damaging and inaccurate statements with opposing counsel. Not only did the child support modification not include the private health insurance I pay for my son, he also allowed the opposing party to include close to $800 in health care related expenses. He flat out told me he would get this fixed. That never happened. He didn’t even get the other party to agree to edit the start date that the new parenting plan started. This resulted in a 3-month retro for the other party- which was a lie. Either C.J. lacks knowledge of basic information on how to modify a child support payment and/or the ability to properly represent a client. How are basic, fundamental, and true facts not incorporated in a new judgement when you have a lawyer representing you and these were specific things I had to ask him to change? It appears that C.J. was very helpful in allowing the other party to achieve what they wanted. So, in essence, C.J. did not negotiate ANYTHING on my behalf. He did not do the work that I paid him for (negotiating and representing me) because the judgement says it all. This resulted in an inaccurate monthly child support payment, and C.J. knew it. There are additional factors that are influencing my rating and decision which I prefer to leave outside of this review. However, one of the most outstanding is his response time. I would not hear from him for 2 weeks, if not more. Part of his communications said that we shouldn’t “push it” or “upset them in any way,” if we wanted them to agree to consider changing anything (to the true information). This was concerning to me because C.J. constantly told me that the opposing counsel didn’t call him back or reply to his emails. His inability to communicate with opposing counsel set me back and put me in a very compromised position. C.J. was hired to negotiate and represent me. Unfortunately, I lost more than what rights I went in with, and he is very aware of this. At minimum to have the health care expense I pay for my son included in the child support calculator. I have always maintained health insurance for my son. Uninterrupted medical coverage. The lack of timely communication left me wondering for weeks if anything was happening and or going to change. He also made deceiving promises about outcomes that were valid and realistic. I walked out losing and 100% unsatisfied. This was a clear-cut case, and C.J. did not do his job. I truly felt neglected and that my case was not a priority for C.J. He was not able to achieve anything for me and the final judgement contained clauses that were never agreed upon. He was not able to negotiate anything for me. He even stated that in his conversations with opposing counsel, “We simply could not reach a resolution as to the issues”. Simply put, the other party was able to create a judgement that included everything they wanted (that was not agreed upon) and C.J. had no power to negotiate it.

It is a miracle that I found Mr. Ragland when I did. Andy prevented my daughter from being moved out of state after my divorce, a situation that was terrifying and confusing, and a challenge that he accepted with immediacy. I was more than surprised that Avvo did NOT post my prior review although it was factual, specific. Especially since there are virtually no reviews on this attorney. Specifically, I spent 60% of my entire cost of divorce with Albert and made virtually no tangible progress toward any of the steps required to actually get divorced. Except for initial meetings with opposing counsel that produced no progress at all, we never got close to discovery, settlement conferences, mediation or, of course, court. I had to leave the firm due to the lack of progress in relation to a very large fee, $550 an hour at the time I employed the firm. What's more, Albert insisted that it was "cost effective" to have his paralegal in every meeting with him, adding nearly $200 more an hour. It was not cost effective. I ultimately had to leave the firm due to very little progress in relation to a very large legal bill. The attorney I transferred to was a 5* rated Martindale and Hubbell attorney who took me all the way through divorce with a satisfactory result for 40% of the fee paid to Albert's firm with very little progress. When I left, I asked if I might employ Albert if necessary as a consultant in settlement negotiation having had no experience with the new law firm. Albert said, "no." I felt it was spiteful in relation to my leaving the firm. I said in my last review and will say again, Albert did boast about his accomplishments in my time with him and in a meeting with opposing counsel. I thought this inappropriate, especially on my dollar. Albert is certainly a competent attorney. I feel, however, that there are many attorneys as competent at a far lower fee and I actually believe I got a better outcome with the new firm at a dramatically lower cost. I say I believe I got a better outcome because my result was better than the result Albert was preparing me for.

Paid a ton of money to get the worst possible outcome for child custody. Told me to give them full custody and focus on parenting time. Went with it. Didn’t get more parenting time at all. 2 weekends a month….. Told me we can pursue in court, but it would be thousands more. What a joke.

DO NOT RETAIN THEM. They put on a good "act" but they will drag the process out as they continue to charge you. As well as pass you around between the lawyers, ask for paperwork and information multiple times, and in the end send you to court with an unprepared lawyer in training who will fumble your case completely. The result being losing on all points as well as having to pay. STAY AWAY.

I retained (McKean Smith) Annelisa's services the day I met her for initial consultation. She was referred to me by a common friend. Annelisa worked with me from start to finish on my divorce, to end my 21 years of marriage, that should've been settled amicably from the get-go, as all I wanted was for there to be no disruption to my kids' (2 teens) lives at home from the parenting plan, and I was ready to give up my house, and 100% child support, and allow both kids to stay with their mother 24/7 for that, with me visiting kids at their home only to care for them when they wanted me to, no different than our usual routine. Yet, somehow conspiracies prevailed and it ended up as a contested divorce that dragged on for over a year, with me having to defend against numerous baseless accusations. It was a real life nightmare to say the least, but fortunately I had my kids and the truth to bank on, and had all the documented evidence needed to fend off every single unfounded accusation, and that's all Annelisa needed to get me the exact results I wanted, with the only difference being that instead of my kids living with their mother in the home 24/7 I now have sole custody of both my kids and they now live with me in the house 24/7, with zero disruption to their lives from the divorce. Annelisa will fight for you and get you the results you deserve. She is very busy, but made time for a 1 on 1 meeting anytime I felt the need for some assurance. Heather, the paralegal, was also very pleasant to work with, and was prompt at responding to my questions. In court, at status check meetings, Annelisa was very clear and concise in her choice of words, and spoke with full confidence, no matter what cheap tactics the opposing counsel used in front of the judge to try to scare me. Annelisa has the experience, is very skilled in her profession, and is very honest and upfront about the possible outcomes. Each time I felt drained and wanted to discuss updates and meet with Annelisa, I left feeling assured and confident that she will get me the best result possible. At one point I felt so frustrated and drained from dealing with the contested divorce that I was willing to give in to all the demands from the opposing party, but Annelisa advised me why that was not a good option, and boy am I glad I listened to her! Annelisa doesn't play any games with the opposing party. She is very straightforward and deals with the opposing party in a very professional manner, and will get you the best results you deserve. For me, that was zero disruption to my kids' lives at home after divorce, and that's exactly what she delivered. My 2 teens are now living with me in my house 24/7, and my life with my kids is as good as it can get... very much at peace! One other thing that stood out in my interactions with Annelisa is that she was always conscious of my financial constraints and questioned the need whenever I requested a 1 on 1 meeting, warned me about additional cost when discussing independent 3rd party services, suggested alternatives to getting the same outcome as a trial, without actually taking it to trial, and even worked with the opposing counsel and the judge to minimize my costs by avoiding certain in-person meetings when the divorce was being finalized. If you have the truth and facts on your side, and anticipate a contested divorce, retaining the services of McKean Smith could end up being the best decision you make. It was for me!
