After a near 6 year fight trying to achieve a disability adjudication hearing, without success, I turned to Melissa. She was thorough in her initial intake, she maintained/endured constant communication and I do mean constant communications from myself to her office and responded every time. Not once did she ask me to please stop. I was appreciative of her understanding, compassion, desire to "get this one done".
While the outcome was not a slam dunk victory and fell well short of overall expectations, she still achieved a favorable decision from the judge. I would have appreciated the considerations that Melissa had provided me, from the adjudication process of the administration itself. The system is flawed. It needs repaired. Never the less Melissa receives the 3-C's award from me....... I have a personal journey to undergo from here. It won't be easy, but I am positive if I have any questions MY attorney will respond...

When I came to Melissa i was very discouraged having been denied my social security disability claim, after a LONG wait, coupled with having to leave my job that i loved and enjoyed. She was ALWAYS very easy to talk to and was kind and patient to read my long emails that at times contained many questions and a bit of frustration having to wait out this process. She ALWAYS got back to me in a timely manner and made me feel at ease and understood. If I were her boss i would definatly do whatevr i could to keep her and give her a big fat raise, i mean that, what she did for me meant the world to me its been a VERY VERY difficult time losing income and incurring medical bills. Allison is a professional, friendly lawyer who represented me in my divorce case from 2003 thru 2008. She represented me in family court and I always felt confident with her by my side. She was straight forward with me and provided me information that was realistic in her expectations. I cannot say enough about Shaffer and Engle law practices. At the time I was being accused of something I did not even do by Pa state children and youth services. The case was given to the Pa state police who conducted an investigation into the allegations and closed the case without any charges being filed.
Although I was never arrested or charged of any crime in this case that did not stop Pa state children and youth services from placing me on a state sexual offender list.
When I first met Alyssa Knisely and Jeff Engle they were both very professional and easy to talk with. After reviewing my case they were able to sit down with me and go over all my options. While doing this they were explaining everything in a way that made it easy for me to follow without being caught up in all the legal talk.
Jeff and Alyssa worked as a great team. As Jeff took the lead during the court hearing being able to bring so much into the open about this case. Alyssa was right there while they both conferred with each other to make sure they did not miss a thing. Without a doubt they were able to bring a close to this case with the best possible outcome for me.

Ms. Maher worked on my younger brother's emergency child custody petition after his partner, who left him and their child, threatened to take their child after two months of no contact. My brother called her in a panic and she calmed him down and explained the process to both him and I in a way that was easily understood. I don't know what we would have done without her. I was involved in a very lengthy divorce and custody battle. I had spent a fortune and had gotten nowhere. A friend referred me to Mr. Fenerty. I was amazed from our first telephone conversation. He completely understood my perspective and he also was able to explain my former spouse's take on things as well. He explained the legal stuff to me in a way I understood it and recommended that we try to calm things down. I was doubtful but I really trusted him. He took my case. He immediately called my spouse's attorney - who he knew (oh, it seems like this man knows everybody) and things changed immediately. We went to court a few times on the custody and the divorce and succeeded every time. I now am sharing custody of my kids and I feel like I did great in the divorce. Things have gotten better with my ex and I have never been happier. I ended up paying him much less than my prior attorney who accomplished so little. He is a really down to earth guy and he really seemed to care about my case.

Ms. Fittipaldi represented me in a divorce settlement. She was very professional and courteous to both myself and the opposing parties; however, she was persistent at getting and presenting the facts in an effort to get the best outcome. Even the judge stated she had proven her case "beyond a reasonable doubt", despite this being a civil case. I would definitely hire her again for either a criminal or civil case--she was previously an assistant DA working as head of the special victims prosecution team.

The first time I spoke with Tilman Larson I knew I had found my attorney. Now that the dust has settled, my only regret is not hiring him sooner. After 15 years of marriage and a year of separation I was tired and sad and strapped. Mr. Lawson worked out a payment plan that worked with my small budget but he treated me like a client for whom money was no object. He was patient when I rambled, firm when fighting on my behalf, and even though I had moved 500 miles away, he stayed in regular contact with me as if I were right across town. Knowing that he had my family's best interest in mind, I was able to focus on healing for my sons and me. In the end, Tilman fought to get my fair share of the life I had helped to build when I was too scared and tired to fight on my own. I hired Chas to handle a case for me after a previous attorney had screwed it up. Chas was willing to trust my view of things, without automatically siding with the previous attorney just because he was an attorney. He was also willing to let my husband handle filing all the documents, analyzing complicated estate accountings, preparing spreadsheets, and providing potential arguments to advance, which saved a ton of money on paralegal work. Chas was open with me, explained everything, and even allowed me to frequently argue with him (he claimed to enjoy it). He's a really nice guy and totally honest. The one thing I'd fault him for is that he isn't good at scheduling. Chas tends to let cases slide a bit till trial time (he loves trials), and then, since three trials had piled up consecutively, he was unable to spend enough time preparing for mine. However, he later hired an assistant and that seemed to help a lot.

First off, thanks Judge Lacey. You performed the ceremony and my wife and I have since been married for 20 years this February.
Aside from that, before I was married, I had gotten a ticket from the code enforcer for the house I was fixing up for my future (at the time) wife. I sat in Judge Lacey's courtroom all day and heard every case. At the end, I found out that the ticket had been thrown out because common sense prevailed and they knew I was working on the house. Anyway, that day that I sat in Judge Lacey's court, I watched and listened as he took each case and applied common sense and wisdom not seen since Solomon. He looked at each situation and came up with a judiciary solution that was good for the community and in the best interests of the offenders. One that particularly sticks in my mind was for a coulple of kids... they had done some vandalism behind the old Pantry Pride grocery store in Darby, and Judge Lacey ordered them to go there with trash bags and clean the place up. "Whatever God did not put there, you will pick up." He didn't give them a fine, didn't send to juvenile hall, he gave them a task they would not soon forget. I know I haven't.
My wife and I have been talking about maybe having a full blown wedding for our 20th anniversary, but I would still want Judge Lacey to perform the ceremony (again) if he could.

Denise (Luz) Negron-Bennett made all the difference to me in the way she handled my divorce case. She answered every question I had along the way, and took the initiative to research relevant case law to put my mind at ease more times than I like to remember. I hired Denise for what should have been a much simpler divorce process, since my husband and I had no children together and the asset division seemed pretty straightforward. Yet when my husband made things difficult, Denise did everything to both counter his -- and his lawyer's -- games, and to protect me proactively re: assets, property access and distribution, anticipating court actions, and strategizing for my case. A warm and caring person by nature, Denise showed great compassion to me during what turned out to be a much more complex legal process than I had expected. She asked the right questions and knew when to stand her ground — even with me when I could not, at times, accept the reality of my own case or the ambiguity of some aspects of PA divorce law.
