Our daughter was hit by a car and killed while in a crosswalk. We were fortunate to find Josh to take our case. I could not imagine a more effective attorney. Josh took on all of the details of our case. He recommended a highly competent probate attorney to handle the details of our daughter's estate. His assistant Jessica very effectively managed many of the interface details between his office and the probate attorney's office. Josh worked diligently with the insurance companies, dealing with their stalling tactics and negotiating a generous and fair settlement. He worked extremely effectively with the District Attorney's office and the ADA assigned to our case. His guidance was always pragmatic and thoughtful. He and Jessica were always readily accessible whenever we had a question. He worked very effectively with the Defendant's attorney. His knowledge, confidence, personable nature and competence were a great comfort to my wife and I through a very difficult time.
I could not imagine a more competent, effective and personable attorney to guide someone through such difficult circumstances.

I started my divorce process in mid 2020, what a time to have to go through this process. But I don't think there's really a "good" time for such a thing.
The original attorney I teamed up with at the beginning of my divorce, Myah Kehoe (Kehoe Moneyhun Law, LLC) which I recommend as well. That attorney recommended a handful of attorneys based on the particulars of my case. After consulting with each of these attorneys, I decided upon Jennifer (Jenny) Eadie and I'm glad I made that decision. My case was protracted (likely due to the pandemic), involving a non-responsive other party, and a lack of willingness to compromise. Jenny was highly skilled at taking over the case, getting up to speed, and communicating with both parties in a timely fashion. Jenny helped bring my case to a resolution and a positive outcome. If you want an attorney that's patient, polite, and efficient; then look no further. Jenny is it, I highly recommend Jenny Eadie as an attorney.

I refer to Mary as a God send. My daughter's mom moved out of state and cut off communication. I hadn't spoken or seen my daughter in 4 years! I was recommended to Kathy S. Root for resolving a divorce case with a potentially complicated international child custody component to it. Kathy and her team were consistently courteous, professional, firm, and sober-minded, while also being empathetic regarding my experience and supportive of how I wished the case to proceed. It had been both confusing and stressful over the years, as I had initially attempted to get legal help to resolve problems in the original paperwork from other legal counsel, with no luck. In a final attempt, I feel very fortunate to have found and received the legal help and guidance from Ms. Root and her team. We worked through several challenging obstacles, explaining legal terms and steps required along the way, and then ultimately receiving the required military calculation information for final negotiations and terms of the final documents. The goal was to file clarifying divorce military benefits paperwork, for the outcome of a revised court order to receive these benefits. After much effort by all, we received this new court order.
In the beginning, I also stated that I wanted a first priority placed on keeping my kids out of the entire process, out of respect and sensitivity for them, as they should not be caught in the middle of this situation. Kathy Root was the stable behind my dramatic divorce 13 years ago/ which is still proceeding with other issues to this day. Chip was very good. My ex wanted to fight about every little thing. She opposed anything and everything. Somehow she found a lawyer just like her. It was hell, he was as sarcastic as she was. Anyway Chip kept his cool and kept me from do foolish things too. All of the emails and arguments, she even purposely damaged my car Chip could have charged me a fortune as I later found out other lawyers do. He is not only a great lawyer, but he's a good person too. I wish he were my friend. LOL If you have any questions make sure to ask him, he will give good answers without making you wait or charging a fortune.

Before I met Matthew Holland, I probably had one of the most confusing and sloppy divorce cases due to a crazy ex-wife that wanted money, to see me suffer, and take away my son. Matthew was my 4th and final lawyer on this extremely difficult case. I have learned, when one is in a litigation battle, it is necessary that you have all facets in a lawyer and law office. It is extremely difficult to find an attorney that knows the law in and out. Mr. Holland is accurate, thorough, fast at filing paperwork, and can dominate in the courtroom if the case is forced to trial. This guy did it all. Matt won an extremely difficult case and dug me out of a MASSIVE hole when I met him. He gave me my son back and my life. In addition to gaining my time with my son, Matt saved me from what could have been a substantial debt. It was super impressive to watch him work at his craft. He is an immense asset at Donahue law Firm in Bend Oregon. I owe a great thanks to Matthew Holland and his incredible paralegal Annalee Hoagland. I can't stress this enough; I highly recommend Matthew Holland as a divorce attorney. I also believe that Donahue Law Firm has taken the #1 spot in town for a pedigree law firm. I feel very fortunate to have come upon Matt Holland. I presented him with a complex employment contract with a medical group and hospital (25 pages worth of legalese), and he went through them point-by-point with me the very next day. He explained everything clearly, pointed out the 'draconian' parts, and reassured me that as a whole it was a fair contract. He charged less than average and yet I am sure my contract was reviewed with more care and close attention than it would have been at some big law place. Plus Matt was flexible about timing, and was willing to review the contract with me partly over the phone and partly at his office, even though it was late in the day. I looked him up on Yelp, and read his philosophy about law, and I must say, I am impressed by his professionalism and purpose. It's not every day you meet a lawyer who genuinely believes in the law and uses his training for good. This is not your stereotypical greedy or smarmy lawyer; this is a good guy. I hope I don't need an attorney in future, but if I do, I most certainly will return to Holland Law.

I hired Kevin Kelly In 2011 while I was enlisted in the military, stationed overseas, hadn’t seen my son in person for the better part of 2 years, and I was a single male at the time. Kevin always steered me in the right direction and warned me of all possible outcomes with my case. He always was straight forward and honest with me with everything, never leading me down a bad path once. Without Westbrook I would be sitting in prison tonight. I have worked with her for over a year on my case and when I say that, what I mean is: she has dealt with me for over a year and worked on my case.
Westbrook is the definition of left field, she comes up with stuff out of no where that makes you feel stupid for never thinking of yourself. In my year with her I definitely thought I finally had an idea of what sort of attorney she was and how she operates. NOPE! She suits up for court and it’s as if you hired a whole different woman! There were times in that court room I’d sworn I saw a cape around her. This woman is absolutely amazing and I owe my life to her, if I ever get falsely accused again there is no one else I would ever go to. EVER. If I moved across the country I’d make her get licensed there just to be my defense again.
I gave this poor woman absolute hell for things that had nothing to do with her at times and yet she’d be up until 3am working on my case. She can seem a bit unorthodox but let me assure you there is a method to her madness and you do not want to be the one going against her in a court room because she works in the most unpredictable ways and then suddenly brings it all together and by the time you realize what she did it’s already over. I’m not saying I trust the process, but I do trust her and her process.

Three years ago I was wrongfully convicted of crimes I did not commit. After winning an appeal I was assigned Westbrook. I was a problem client, I did not wanna wave my sixty day speedy trial rights to give her more time to work on my case all I saw was the thirty months I had been wrongfully imprisoned. Westbrook did her best and actually won my case and got me released from custody. After watching my previous attorney just roll over and show his belly during the first trial, it was refreshing just to see Westbrook fight, veraciously for my rights, to defend me with a tenacity of someone who honestly cares about doing their very best. I would say hands down Westbrook is the best lawyer in Oregon.

Gardner explained everything to me I was unclear about: his strategy, possible outcomes from the other team, and what he was hoping for...which was to win my case. Obviously, when dealing with CPS, a parent does not have many options, but he gave me sound suggestions and encouragement. Even if I did not always like my options, he broke it down in a way that was easier to take in. If he was not going to be present, he made sure a qualified member of his staff would be and that they had been thoroughly breifed on my case. He knows how to do his job and does it well. All of his staff are qualified and are not shy about doing their job well... I cannot say thank you enough for all his effort. He pulled off a miracle. Hopefully, I am never in a situation where I need him again, but if I am, I would not want any other lawyer. Funny guy who talks way too much, but deinitely one in a million.

I went to a big party about a 12 months ago, and let's just say that I ended up in a bit of legal trouble on my drive home. I contacted Adam at the suggestion of a friend who used him before in a criminal case.
Adam met with me right away and gave me the rundown of all of my options. He was way organized, he even gave me a bunch of stuff to take home with me and read to help understand the law process a bit better. I had a total of 2 court appearances with him, and each time he was early, prepared, and at ease. I was so nervous coming going to court since I had never been before, but felt much better once he took control. I barely had to do anything.
When all was said and done, things played out exactly like Adam said they would. I can't say the process was fun, because it was not, but having Adam as my lawyer made things 1000x easier. I would definitely recommend him if you end up talking to a police officer after a bit touch (ahem) too much to drink.

After being badly burned by another lawyer, I came to Adam and Jill hurt and angry. They were quick to respond and were amazing at trying to fix what the other lawyer had screwed up for me. I rather stupidly tried to represent myself in my divorce, and I seriously jacked it up. The dedication of Caitlin and the McLain Legal Services Team was exactly what was needed and ultimately our goal of becoming Third Party Custodians of our Grandson was achieved in 6 months. I just want to take a minute to write a review for this excellent attorney that works with another excellent group of people at McLain Legal. All too often in todays society we seem to lose sight of the people behind the scenes, people who day in and day out work their tail end off to get the job done and done well. Ms Easter is one of those people who just sit back quietly, often behind the scenes and rocks it every single time. This attorney had to jump in and actually go to court for an ex parte matter when my actual attorney was out on vacation. The matter required immediate attention and representation and Ms Easter did that without hesitation. In the end, we lost the argument/that battle, but the war continues. It should be noted that despite losing that motion, I still feel compelled to write this review and let everyone in Portland know how great of an attorney Ms Easter is. When my years-long battle in family court was over, there was a huge mess to clean up. An appeal was filed by opposition; a totally specious contempt was filed by opposition, several rounds of negotiation and filings and frustration and hair pulling and the kids there in the middle of it. My very capable but very pugilistic trial attorney recommended that I use someone who had the ability to reach compromise more readily with the opposing legal team, who were understandably tired of dealing with him. Fortunately, he had someone in mind.
Enter Caitlin Easter.
Caitlin is a delightful person, which could distract you from what a fantastic lawyer she is. She is thorough, she is detail oriented, and she's a fantastic communicator with an excellent command of the law. She manages to maintain a healthy skepticism without being cynical, which is hugely refreshing, especially as legal fatigue starts to set in. She is a fighter with a gentle disposition, and she cares about the kids involved above everything else.
I could not be happier with the outcome of her services. We are now at about the year mark after our last major interaction and it's a whole new world. My kids are happy and see both parents regularly; both parents have laid down their swords and are moving on with their lives. It's night and day. If things change though... she's my first call.

My wife of 10 years decided to leave me for another man after I was hospitalized due to a manic bi-polar episode. Needless to say, life was extremely hard for me to deal with.
