I wanted to share that the experience I had with the view ridge law- more specifiacally with the attorny Elaina T. was far from well. I had to end my session with her early and request my money back. I paid her to help me and instead she spent time telling me why I couldnt get what I wanted and defending the other party. I also found out she did not read all the paperwork I sent in which she claimed was irrelevant to the case which was entirely unture. I was shocked at the lack of professionalism and care that was given to me. Our meeting was not recorded so I was not able to prove that way she was speaking to me to her superiors. The only positive that came from this was that the office did refund me my money. I lost out on a very timely situation due to their lack of attention.

Unknowledgeable, Way Too Expensive, Dropped the Ball and Miserably Failed Us
Paid $3,500 for absolutely nothing accomplished! Lacked basic knowledge and failed to get it yet charged a fee for nothing but excuses. Charge for reading and sending every email, even though the staff were not well trained to explain important information. Cancelled twice at last minute and was always providing unencouraging depressing hopelessness. Finally dropped me for complaining. THIS IS THE TYPE OF ATTORNEY WE WERE ALL WARNED ABOUT! Complete waste of time and money.

Jeff called me and left me voice mail, he wanted to send me demand letter. It was a joke, as if he was trying bully using his “attorney” title and letter was written very unprofessionally. After having conversation with him - he wrote on the letter which he sent to me later- that I was being “hostile and threthening” when nothing of that nature happened. So I am taking my witnesses and filling a complaint to bar association so he can learn not to lie and not falsify statement against anyone.

In 2014 i began a terrible divorce proceeding with my exwife. i figured i would keep my business local, so i tried out Jeffrey Mirsepasy as a representative. He told me about his 2500 dollar retainer and of his rates. I agreed to have him as a representative, and told him that i need warning when approaching exhaustion of the retainer coverage. He agreed and his work commenced. Mirsepasy met me at my first court date in Kent, and negotiated with my exwife's lawyer whose name was Lucky (coincidentally). Mirsepasy, in total, spent 2-3 hours in the courthouse (most of that time we waited) after a very lackluster performance in court and on parenting plan negotiations, i dissolved his representation.
I asked Mirsepasy for my paperwork and all files that i had given him when he began my case. He agreed. I met him at his office after my work day, and he had my files all together for me, but had a agreement that i must sign. This agreement stated that the reainer was exhausted and i owed him around 5000 dollars. I reminded mirsepasy of our agreement of notification before exhausting retainer. He denies ever agreeing to such things. This is when i shake my head in disgust. So, being in the position i was, i signed the agreement, because i NEEDED my documents. I reccomend seeing any other lawyer before Mr. Mirsepasy.
Never again will i have a verbal agreement with a lawyer, and beleive they are going to stick with it. Fast forward a couple years later. Now i am receiving subpeona's for this money that he says i owe him. I have nothing good to say about Jeffrey. I hope he does not treat his clients like he treated me, thats all. I regret stepping foot in his office.

I hired norma Urena on may 2021, never responded to my divorce in court I had to do it my self, she stop representing myself on December. I pay her $5,000 honestly she didn’t do anything for me. Same to other 5 more people. She stop representing them. She just used the clients charger the money and leave the case’s. Her licensing should be removed.

At every turn lucky has been awesome. He's been my lawyer since April of 2017 with his help I was able to defeat a temporary protection order and get a good temporary parenting plan. He continues to work on my divorce. At every turn I have been grateful that Lucky is my lawyer. He has explained every step of what we need to do. One of the things I like is almost every time we talk he asks how the kids are doing.

There is no way around it, divorce sucks and so does the family court system. My spouse and I split because she "wasn't in love anymore". When I wouldn't give her everything, accusations of all types of abuse were made. Three different trials in three different cities. Lucky was first my criminal defense attorney that eventually took over the divorce side. the two+ years was long. I thought it would never end. Having so much emotion, I wasn't always rational. Lucky took over. We succeeded on all trials (one didn't even make it to the actual trial because the Prosecuting attorney had no case and bluffed they're way thru always trying to get me to plead out). It is sad that false accusers have no repercussions in family court. Lucky made sure everything was done and because of the history of questionable (false) accusations, he made sure there were certain things written to protect me from future issues. If it wasn't for him, I probably would have no contact with my kids. Seven years later, the kids now live with me. Thank you Lucky!

I had a very complicated divorce, and was in a situation that I had an immediate need to hire a lawyer and file for divorce in the middle of a busy summer weekend. Elise hit the ground running with me and worked through day and night that weekend on my behalf to make sure my rights were protected . She is well connected, an amazing advocate, dedicated, caring, with a personal approach. She is not afraid to give strong advice and fought hard for me and my goals while being ethical and respected by everyone involved. As a busy working father divorcing a stay-at-home mom, odds were against me to get equal custody of the children. However, in what could have been a very ugly custody battle, thanks to Elise's expertise I was able to get a settlement for 50% custody. Additionally she connected us with the right team of experts (coparenting counselor, financial expert, child psychologist) that were instrumental in making the process as conflict free as possible.

Very disappointed with Elise Buie Family Law. I prepaid $2,500 for a prenup, and I was forced to cancel due to emergency repairs on a property I own. I spoke with Kathryn Silk for 30 minutes (Elise and Kathryn were both late for their appointments) just to get things started and she told me she had jury duty and would not start my case for another week or so. I canceled the very next day and they hit me with a $690 bill and refunded $1810. It was in the contract that they charge $350 to set up a client, so thought I would get $2,150 back. They did absolutely nothing except for a 30 minute call and charged $690. Elise initially told me she would have one of the paralegals/assistants do most of the work to keep my costs down, then she has Kathryn do the work who charges $340/hr (assistants charge $150-215/hr). I am glad I did not proceed with them. There is no doubt in my mind now that they were going to hit me with another huge bill at the end saying something along the lines of "your case took a lot more time than expected. You owe another $2,000." They are dishonest, unethical people here at Elise Buie Family Law.

Jodie has been my rock through a very contentious divorce. She came into my life like divine intervention and then it all began to rain down on us and she has been my steady force ever since last fall. At times when I felt completely desperate at the hands of a vindictive ex it was Jodie that talked some sense back into me, and we triumphed in court. My wife was refusing to let me have my son prior to getting a court order. Jodie told me not to take him as it would cause conflict that would look bad for me. When we went to court the judge was more concerned with the status quo and questioned my ability to even be able to handle my son overnight because I haven't gotten to him overnight yet. I just went to court for a second time trying to get my rightful amount of time with my son but instead only got crumbs, again because of the status quo. Talking to several attorneys and reading books on divorce, all say to take your child the amount you want them before court orders are in place to establish a studies quo otherwise the courts will rule on the current studies quo. Jodie's recommendations for me a whopping 15 hours a week with my son. I can't say how highly I recommend going with another attorney.

Although she could not take my case, Ms. Horenstein graciously consulted with me at length and helped me understand what I was up against. I was at my wits end, panic stricken, feeling lost and hopeless. Dru Horenstein is certainly an expert in her field. She was the fourth attorney I had contacted about my problem and she solved it! After my divorce, I had tried to remove my ex from all access to my pension through the Washington Teachers Retirement System. Dru was very patient in explaining what others could not. Through several emails and a lengthy phone call, she put me at ease and helped me realize the facts of the survivorship. She helped me weigh the pros and cons of pursuing my case through the courts. She kindly told me not to "beat myself up" regaring the previous decisions I had made. I feel so much better now knowing the "real strory" behind my decision.

We are contemplating a move back to Washington state where we lived for many years. Without proper estate planning we would potentially be subject to the Washington estate tax. n our initial contacts with the firm, we clearly identified that we were residents in another state. We were instructed to provide our detailed financial picture as well as our current estate planning documents which we provided promptly and told that our information would be forwarded to the attorneys for evaluation. The following is the email response.
“Thank you for filling out and returning your Questionnaire.
I will forward your information to our attorneys for review. Once they have completed their review, I will be back in touch with you regarding a quote for services and the next steps for scheduling.”
Well over a month went by with no word back from STIB. I finally contacted them by email requesting a status update. Within minutes, I received the following reply.
“Thank you very much for contacting our firm. Unfortunately, we are not able to take on your case. Our firm does not advise out-of-state residents on tax issues. Our focus is estate planning and long term care planning.”
The STIB website clearly tax issues as part of estate planning. I also found no restrictions on attorneys in Washington state providing consultation to out-of-state residents considering residency in Washington.
Needless to say, I was astounded by what I consider to extremely poor communication and timely follow-up. If it is indeed not their policy to advise out-of-state residents on tax issues, I would have expected to have been informed of that policy up front thus saving us the time of compiling and sending detailed and confidential financial and estate planning information. In my opinion, this represents incompetent and totally unprofessional behavior.

If you're looking for a lawyer for a difficult family law case, stop what you're doing and call Stacy now. I promise you won't regret it.
It is not an exaggeration to say that Stacy saved my life. I was in an abusive marriage. My children were also being abused. I was terrified that if I took any action that my ex would take the children and I'd be unable to see or protect them anymore. I felt hopeless, like there was no way to extricate myself while keeping the kids safe.
Eventually it got bad enough that I knew I had to act. I was lucky enough to find Stacy in late December, years ago. Stacy worked tirelessly through the holidays to help me rush to get an emergency restraining order -- an order we were successfully granted in early January.
Unfortunately, we were only just getting started. That was the beginning of an incredibly hard-fought and complicated legal struggle. My ex was smart and well-funded, and was not above using every means at her disposal to undermine the process. We had to deal with: spurious CPS escalations, failure to respond to discovery, hiding money in foreign bank accounts, concerns of flight risk to home country, spurious allegations of neglect, and much much more. I am 100% confident that my case could've imploded with a less skilled attorney.
Stacy did an unbelievable job in keeping all of these plates spinning. She is a gifted strategist, able to anticipate possible tactics and guard against them. One noteworthy example: Stacy had anticipated that my ex would attempt to make false allegations of neglect, and advised me to make regular well-child checkups with my son's PCP. As a result, when my ex attempted to claim long-running untreated illness, we were able to prove these allegations false. I was and am so grateful to have had an attorney that cared enough to prepare me for these practical considerations -- and wasn't simply content to file legal documents.
5 years later, when the divorce decree was signed, I felt confident that both Stacy and I had done everything in our power to work for the best result possible. I don't even walk to think what would have happened if I hadn't had Stacy in my corner. Having been out of this abusive relationship for years, free to rebuild my life, and having my kids' lives stabilized is a priceless gift. I'm very grateful for all Stacy has done.

I hired Stacy blindly because I was desperate and she was in my stepfather's networking group. I was charged over $4000 for her review of documents. I was then asked if I had questions and criticized. I was given no guidance and there was no plan at all. She had no understanding of domestic abuse, power dynamics, or the hell that is the family law system. When I terminated her, she emailed my stepfather telling him, which made no sense to me and which I felt was inappropriate. She sent me a long letter clearly trying to cover herself in the event I filed a Bar complaint. I then hired a recommended attorney. In the free consultation, he immediately identified the problem and how to address it. This would have been a $50k case with Stacy, and would have been very detrimental to me emotionally. I also would have lost. On the bright side, her assistant - who appears to do much of the work - is very nice and professional.

Lawyer failed to do basic upload of documents in the court file. She does not know how to handle basic zoom call protocols and how to present the case. She is hands off attorney who never even prepare or submit or create even one document on your behalf. It is better to represent yourself rather than hiring her. The attorney screw me over in my case and took all my money without doing zero for me. She didn't file my paperwork in time and didn't turn any of my documents in. She is a horrible attorney not worth one penny. Keep your money and find another good attorney because this one is not a good hard-working attorney, she is only looking to milk innocent people out of their hard-working money. I am reporting her to the Washington Bar association and the attorney general and hope to start an investigation and get back my hard-working money ASAP! Janet Watson is a joke and should not practice law and was an insult to consumers like me. I regret forever allowing her to be my attorney and milk me out of my hard-working money. Nothing much really was resolved; we were in crisis mode. When we didn't not want to keep her on a retainer she dropped us. Then when we had no lawyer, the other parent took off to another state. We called her again and she was too busy. Referred us to MODERATE MEANS...and they are pretty useless right now.

After going through a very high conflict divorce with an ex-wife who was willing to stop at nothing to destroy me including false abuse allegations and keeping my daughter from visiting me, Ms. Raiford, from the very beginning acted as a guardian and avenging angel throughout this very contentious legal process. From our intial consultation, where she offered me free 15-minute introductory consultation, unlike other attorneys I had contacted who had offered a similar introductory consultation, in that short 15 minutes she gave me real valuable insight as to what my ex-wife's motivations and possible next steps were with just that limited information I gave her about my case, I was immediately impressed and hired her the next day and retained her the day after. Her rates were reasonable, and she was usually very prompt in answering any questions I may have had throughout the process. The end result was as favorable and equitable of an outcome as a divorcing father could have expected in the State of Washington and had it not been for Ms. Raiford, I would have been so much worse off; I am guaranteed visitation with my daughter, I have support obligations that I can afford, and an equitable split of remaining marital assets despite my ex-wife's scorched earth plan of attempting to destroy me on her way out. I highly recommend her, especially for all of the fathers out there going through divorce with a contentious ex who is committed to destroying them out of spite and are willing to alienate your children from you or, make false abuse allegations to destroy your life, as mine had attempted to do. She worked very hard for me and obtained better results than I could have ever imagined.
