I worked with Terry during a seemingly impossible divorce and custody case. My ex was impossible to work with, missed required court dates, threatened her and her staff frequently, refused to be cooperative or even decent and ultimately made a tough situation near impossible. Terry worked on this case for 8 months, provided both legal advise and emotional support and ended up getting me full custody of daughter. She dealt with my ex- a malignant narcissist with professionalism and was able to see through his scary façade. She understands the law and fights for what is right. I would have been lost without Terry.

As a working father going up against a stay-at-home mom who wanted sole custody, a difficult attorney representing my ex, and a bad GAL report, things looked hopeless. Terry gave me options and hope when I was ready to give up, dealt with a very difficult opposing counsel, and argued a fantastic case. At closing arguments, it was clear how emotionally and professionally invested she was in my case. After trial, I was satisfied that, win or lose, we did our best. And we won!
I cannot recommend Terry highly enough, especially for professional working fathers who are fighting an uphill battle to keep involved in their kids' lives. She's the best!

I spoke to Terry regarding my legal matter, she was attentive and showed great compassion and empathy during our brief phone call. A family friend called me distraught several months ago. Their son - young, well behaved, never before in trouble with the law - had been accused of a serious offense. The police were investigating. The family did not speak English and needed help finding a lawyer and interpreting.
I had no idea what lawyer to suggest. Some I called requested astronomical hourly rates. By grace, I found and suggested Mr. Meryhew.
Mr. Meryhew was fair minded in his fee structure, skilled in relating to people even those from a different culture, and a good lawyer. We received good news this morning that the young man is no longer under investigation and the allegations against him were found to be groundless.

During my experience with him I have had nothing but helpful, honest advice. He has been exceptional in setting realistic expectations about what will happen and how long it will take based on his extensive experience and his decades upon decades of practice . He is transparent as far as charges and has always given me options to lower costs and charges. He and his world-class team are there to help you. Especially worthy of mention is his stellar para-legal, Kate Blackstock.
I followed his advice and had a very favorable outcome. To be frank, a divorce is a difficult, painful, and at times ugly situation. It drags on for far too long and at the end, if you are lucky no one involved is thrilled at the finish. Divorces are always bitter and choosing a good lawyer and a good paralegal is extremely important for this process. Kate and Rick are highly recommended. Lots of reasons for that
- Rick has a lot of experience. He knows other lawyers as well as judges in town so you will know what to expect - good or bad.
- You may not realize right now but paralegals are super important in this process and again Kate and her experience is super helpful.
- My case was unique since before filing I had moved out of state. All discussions happened over phone and emails - no issues at all.
- Even though I was separating I wanted the process and division of property to be fair. Rick is ethical and no nonsense kind of lawyer and worked well in my case.

I hired Wolfgang -- and his paralegal Anthony -- for my divorce case. I had heard rave reviews from another friend who had hired him. The best thing I liked about Wolf was that he is practical. My ex and I were able to negotiate the settlement agreement ourselves, and Wolf supported that idea. "The more you two can work out together without the lawyers talking to each other, the better." I would talk to my ex, we'd come up with a proposal, and I'd run it past Wolf and Anthony. I felt this process decreased the tension and possible animosity between my ex and I.
Wolf knew what battles to fight and which ones to drop. I wanted to see if my ex could pay my property taxes, and Wolf said no. He said I should pay them myself. He was right. Our lawyers could have spent hours arguing over a tax bill. The legal fees would have been more than the tax bill, and in the end, I would likely have had to pay my taxes anyway.
Initially, one of my worries about getting divorced was the expense of a lawyer. I felt like Wolf was not trying to run up my bill, which I really appreciated.

My name is Will MacHugh. Kirk has been my attorney for the last 3 years on a personal Injury case. He was referred by my business partners friend.
I was in an accident a the end of 2017. I had surgery, and some long term damage to my thumb. Kirk took the time to get to know me, know the doctors, understand the circumstances, and spent diligent time on the case. At no time did I ever feel like calling him 'Mr. Davis'. Dan York was successful at quashing a restraining order against me and replacing it with one that protected me and my child. He showed throughout his work and communication with me to have high moral values. He is energetic and great under fire. I was desperate and seeking help as a poor single mom with 4 kids trying to fight cps with fraudulent claims, I have a special needs daughter that people didn't understand. Adam quickly reviewed the voluminous records in my case and outlined an effective, cost-sparing post-dissolution strategy. Because of his own heavy caseload, he assigned an attorney from his firm to take on my case, so that I could get my issues resolved without delay. Adam remained personally involved in my case, weighing in on questions of law and litigation strategy. His associate was a very talented litigator, and the result was a successful outcome to my own motion, and a neutralizing of the motions from the opposing side. My family and I went to Bender Law for our estate planning and family will. You should consider David. A friend just now asked me about my divorce lawyer and whether I liked him. It’s indeed been years since I really thought about this exact relationship (divorce in 2017) so I was reminded to review him. I met David at a wedding of some friends in which he was serving as the groom’s best man. I thought it was great that I met him organically. I think I met with a few others but a reference from a friend is worth pure gold to me. I agree with everything all have said below. He always spent good time with me, he has a sense of humor and even though at the time, I could barely crack a smile, it frankly diffused a hell of a lot of tension. He had a clever strategy and though we never discussed it, I think I picked up on his waiting game with my ex-sociopathic con man louse of a husband. I am a get- it - done - NOW- -person as soon as I make up my mind. That’s not gonna serve you best with a sociopathic poor man who has no source of income of his own. David took the long view and looking back now I know it served me well. By the time we waited him out he was willing to take far less than originally “requested”. I was my usual impatient. But in the end, not only did he honor my request to finalize the divorce on a certain specific date (it was meaningful to me and sent a secret sayonara message to my EX), he saved me a lot of money with his tactics.

I have known David Huber almost 20 years, professionally and personally. He was the clear choice to represent my interests when I divorced in 2010. My then wife and I had been married over 30 years and had lived together for eight years prior to that. We had two adult children and a somewhat complicated estate of community and separate properties.
I wanted a fair, equitable and friendly outcome. Unfortunately, my former wife engaged an attorney to represent her interests that was not interested in a fair, equitable or friendly outcome.
David’s even and principled representation was able to neutralize the vitriol of opposing counsel while remaining a strong and persuasive advocate on behalf of that ‘fair and equitable’ outcome. David and I both understood that the problem was not primarily my wife … and after 18 months of discovery (of questionable good faith), David was able to persuade opposing counsel that no assets were being hidden. From that point we were able to proceed to a formal mediation process which resolved in one day.

In 2009, I went through a terrible divorce and my counselor at that time mentioned “the children are young enough you can leave now and they won’t remember you.” Had I met Nelson nd had him as my attorney from day one I am confident I would’ve been the sole custodian of the children. I was blessed to find Ms. Davis and have her assistance in my Family Law case. After my ex-wife contracted a dirty and unscrupulous lawyer to “destroy my life”, as she said herself, I went through almost 2 years of fear and depression due to the threats and unimageable lies they made up about me in the process. Taking advantage of my ex-wife ignorance, her perverse lawyer kept throwing her against me, making false affirmations about myself and pushing us to go into court trials just to fill up her pockets, not caring at any moment about our mental health or even about our 5 years old daughter who was in the middle of all that. There aren't enough words to say how amazing Ms. Davis as an attorney. My case was fraught with high level conflict regarding custody of my 1 1/2 year old daughter, we were in a very unsafe living situation at the time and Genevieve took no stops to be present in her legal advice to get us out safely, she took my frantic calls on the weekends and guided my daughter and I both out of the situation (legally speaking).
After our temporary parenting plan was put into place, she worked tirelessly to prepare us for our Permanent Parenting Plan. She guided me through multiple protection orders and gracefully handled harassing calls from my ex. At all times Ms. Davis remains with a level head and exceptionally thorough in navigating the intricacies of both combative relationships and the legal system itself. My daughter's father struggled with following the rules in our Temp PP and her council successfully lead us through CR2A agreements, contempt orders and even a criminal case.

During 2011-2013 John helped me with the process to change my Visa Status. The school I was enrolled in committed several mistakes leading the change of visa from a J1 to an F1 that eventually the Visa was denied and the case was cancelled in two different occasions. John finally took care of the process and later on had to intervened with the school to avoid having me paying the fees that the USCIS required in order to re-open my case.
