I can’t tell you how many lawyers I have contacted and how many consultations I paid. I went from big firms to lawyers here on Avvo with a lot of reviews, contacted some that were recommended. and in the end I landed on Kirstyn Palmisano.
Let me tell you, she was very responsive, attentive and answered all of my questions in such a caring and observant manner that I knew I wanted her and her team to represent me.
I have a high conflict divorce, but Kirstyn and her team walked me through all of the steps and helped me feel safe and taken care of. I feel very confident and reassured having Kirstyn and her team representing me, guiding me through the legal process and stayed focus on protecting the best interest for me and my child. Kirstyn is not afraid to stand by her clients and fight for you and for what is right. She is very sharp, and knows her stuff very well.
She also has a very skilled paralegal and I had the pleasure to also work with her other legal partner, and they are an amazing team!

Getting the right attorney is EVERYTHING in a legal battle. Ed and his team are literally exactly what you pray for when you know that you need legal representation. I was SO IMPRESSED with them. They are extremely responsive, which is HUGE, and they don't waste time on misleading you or giving you false expectations. You can tell immediately that Ed has a massive amount of experience. They took on an extremely difficult family case for me, and I was able to get full custody as a result. As a father this is unheard of in my experience. I'm so grateful for this team. Amanda is a godsend. I had a tough time not only dealing with my child's father, but finding someone willing to take on a parenting plan not tied to a divorce. She was able to deftly navigate antagonistic emails in a timely fashion, made sure she was available at critical events and only billed for time spent, and protected my daughter and myself by making sure I didn't sign anything without her review. Working with Heritage Law has been so comforting. I did a consultation and then I was assigned to Amanda Holder and Alicia Olney for my custody case. Going through a custody battle is hard as it is, it’s stressful and emotional. Working with Alicia on the day to day and being represented by Amanda took almost all of the stress away. Alicia is quick to respond and never made me feel like I was asking too many questions or bothering her when I didn’t quite understand something. Amanda is fantastic in the court room, well spoken and quick witted. This team showed me so much compassion and care while navigating the court system for me. October 2024 - I was fortunate enough to be referred to Julie by another attorney a year ago. She was the 3rd attorney I had met with and she was able to see me on very short notice within 48 hours. Immediately, she put me at ease. After our initial visit, I already felt a huge weight had lifted. I was very glad that I had not already retained an attorney at that point. Right away, I felt Julie was "the right one". She was sincere, compassionate, caring, and I could tell she was smart. She immediately took control and told me what I needed to do in order to assist with the case. I hired her right then and left the meeting feeling as if I was in capable hands - and rightly so. Jordan, Rosé and the entire team were AMAZING from day one! I can not say Thank You enough. From the moment Rose answered my call in May 2018 to when we settled in the Fall of 2022 they treated us like family and made my daughter and I feel as though we could always trust them. We had gotten in a head on car accident in Vancouver, WA that I was not at fault. I was driving and my 13 yo daughter was in the passenger seat. The other vehicle that was driving the wrong way in our lane towards us hit us head on at 35-40 mph. Most of us are not Legal experts. If we are wise, being humble enough to understand it's best to reach out when a situation is beyond what our knowledge/skills/abilities are able to do is when you need someone in your corner. For my situation, I needed an expert to help me with a Family Law case. I was panicking, scared, and did not know what to do. As a Man, that is sometimes hard to admit. I was referred to Casie by another Attorney as they felt she would be better able to represent me. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.
From the very first phone call, Casie leaned in and first listened to me so she understood my situation. She did not rush me, allowed me to share my side of the story, paused, and then summarized where I was at. From there Casie really kicked it into high gear and explained to me that the more I helped her by being up front, honest, and providing her what she needed in a timely fashion, the better off I would be in the end.
One of the biggest things that drives me crazy is when I hire a professional for any service and they don't keep in contact with me. With Casie, she is cut from a different cloth. Every single step of the way, Casie kept me informed with where she was with my case. If I needed to talk with her, at a minimum I received an email back within an hour or two and most times she was available to talk with me on the phone.
Most importantly, and I really hope people reading this hear me loud and clear, Casie was HONEST and REAL with me about my case. She took the time to explain everything from the best possible outcome to what the maximum foreseeable loss may look like. Never once did she promise me my case was a slam dunk or she could guarantee anything. What she did do was to talk about most likely outcome scenarios and then how the case could change depending on what we chose to do, or in some instances, choosing not to do something.
If you want someone who is honest, fair, logical, and transparent with your case, Casie Rodenberger and Whatcom Law Group is who you need to call. Please listen to me... You are not going to do better by representing yourself. Be humble and honest enough to understand Casie and her team are Law experts, and you want them in your corner.

This was the first time I have ever had to hire an attorney. I found Matthew through a bar association referral (having no idea where to look otherwise). Turns out to be a good match. We did an initial consultation in late April. He was mindful of the facts of my case, able to recall them between many different calls over six months.
I appreciate that Matthew was conservative with my finances. He billed appropriately, and advised on whether or not one decision or another that I was making would be a wise use of the retainer I paid. Essentially telling me "yes you *could* do that, but it won't get any results and you'll be wasting your money."
Although the ultimate outcome of the situation was not exactly what I had hoped for, he was able to negotiate my contract and able to negotiate for severance pay.

October 2024 - I was fortunate enough to be referred to Julie by another attorney a year ago. She was the 3rd attorney I had met with and she was able to see me on very short notice within 48 hours. Immediately, she put me at ease. After our initial visit, I already felt a huge weight had lifted. I was very glad that I had not already retained an attorney at that point. Right away, I felt Julie was "the right one". She was sincere, compassionate, caring, and I could tell she was smart. She immediately took control and told me what I needed to do in order to assist with the case. I hired her right then and left the meeting feeling as if I was in capable hands - and rightly so. On very short notice, Julie and her team were able to frame and present my case which secured a positive outcome at the temporary orders hearing-- for me to be awarded primary custodian of my children and to be able to temporarily remain in the family home. For the past year, Julie has worked diligently through numerous obstacles and challenges from the opposing party while maintaining a high level of courtesy and professionalism to all parties throughout the process. I am very pleased with the outcome and so glad that I chose to trust Julie during this process. Some attorneys are "sharks", or overly aggressive. I’m a criminal defense lawyer with 45 years of experience, so when it came to my own difficult, complicated divorce, I knew I needed the best lawyer possible. My first lawyer was, at best, mediocre. Then, during a court zoom hearing a couple of months into my divorce, I watched and listened to Cynthia First representing another petitioner.
