i recently wrote the review regarding "If you don't care about your kids' i feel I made a mistake. When i contacted Ben about getting some documents regarding this case, he asked if he could make things right, without me asking. I feel my emotions may have clouded my judgement. I am now very ill and on chemo and have no money, that didn't matter to Ben and Jason, they are truly good people with a job that is full of emotions, i personalty thank and apologize to both of these gentlemen. and i would recommend them anytime. Ben represented me (a man) in my divorce (with multiple kids.) My wife had filed and included many horrible allegations which led me to have almost no time with the kids on our temporary parenting plan. Ben picked up the case (which my first attorney had done a poor job on.) He knew exactly what to do to get the end result I wanted. I had to suck it up and it wasn't an instant fix but in the end he rocked my wife's world in court and the record was set straight by his courtroom skills. It seemed at times throughout the case that he was not attentive to my little daily concerns, but I think he simply puts focus where it really counts and if I had trusted him more I would have saved some worry and stress. I read that you will never regret hiring an attorney that you can't afford when it comes to fighting for your kids. After trying to go the cheap route I bit the bullet and I'm so glad I did. Worth every thousand spent and then some. Ben was brutally honest with me and didn't sell me anything he wasn't able to deliver. He was spot on with every estimation he had regarding the case while letting me know that anything can happen. I very highly recommend him if you have the ability to trust him and not expect him to get caught up in every little daily drama you throw his way. Again, he put attention and detail where it really counted and the results were what mattered in the end.

Ben is an amazing attorney. He helped my wife and I in a custody battle with my ex. His professionalism and ethics are the highest I have ever seen. Despite the other side trying to play dirty, he maintained his ethical and professional demeanor and prevailed every time. My being out of state during all of the battles was scary, but Ben made sure everything was done for my best interest and the best interest of the kids. I wouldn't recommend any other attorney in Spokane.

I contacted the Law Offices of James H. MaGee after talking to another attorney about my financial difficulties. The difference was night and day. I had reservations about filing bankruptcy.
So I did some research to find the best possible attorney. I went to his consultation and was very pleased and comfortable discussing my case. I hired him that very day. He and his staff were very respectful, courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend Mr. Maghee as your choice if you are overwhelmed with finances and can't get a grip on them. From start to finish, Rafal Gorski and Caron were absolutely CARING professionals. They took into consideration my work schedule, covid restrictions and the details of my overall debt. I was in a truly hopeless situation before I was referred to Ms. Miller by a coworker. My daughter was in a terrible, volatile environment with a mentally unstable mother who was failing to perform basic motherly duties. I felt powerless to the situation. Jennifer was immediately encouraging from our first phone call, and jumped on getting the necessary papers filed for emergency custody. She worked with me and my family to get my daughter permanently out of the situation and living with me.
She was able to articulate the situation to the judge perfectly, as well as work with the judge to formulate a parenting plan that includes not only protections for my daughters wellbeing as she grows and is allowed more time with her mother, but also allows me, as the custodial parent, to monitor her mothers mental state. The plan requires regular updates to the court and to me about her mental health treatment, and protects my daughter if things take a bad turn in that regard. My daughter is thriving and happy today with a healthy routine, and none of this would’ve been possible without Jennifer’s extensive knowledge of the WA State legal system.
I always felt like I was being taken care of with Ms. Miller. She is a powerful force for justice and was excellent at explaining the process as time went on. She kept me updated throughout, but did a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes filing papers and drafting documents for the case. She always made herself available if I had questions about the case, and gave me great advice on how to address certain situations with my daughter’s mother as they presented themselves.
I will forever be grateful to Jennifer for everything she’s done for me and my little girl. Her can-do attitude is infectious, and her vast knowledge of the legal system put me at ease during the most difficult time in my life.

Last year I hired Kirkland attorney Glen St. Louis after my husband and his attorney got me to sign divorce papers saying that I would receive a 35k judgment on "distribution of property" in a divorce if I have up a claim for spousal maintenance. My husband had agreed to take all the credit card debt which accumulated over 17 years of marriage. after I signed the documents, I decided it was still best that I see an attorney to review what I thought was a good deal. I was shocked when Mr. St. Louis explained that it appeared my husband had tricked me into a "35K Judgment" because it was clear from all the paperwork and debt that he took, that my husband was going to declare bankruptcy when the divorce was final to get out of the credit card debt and to get out of paying the 35K judgment. Mr. St Louis also explained to me that it was practically impossible to pull my ex-husband into court for contempt of property distribution award because he explained the family law did not allow that. In other words I was about ready to lose everything I thought I was getting in the divorce, and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. My ex-husband later admitted to me that this was indeed his intentions. I had to spend over 5K to Mr. St. Louis to get out of the agreement, and with hard work and ingenuity, Mr. St. Louis got everything tossed out of court and forced a settlement on my husband and his attorney in my favor to re-structure my 35K bankrupt able property award into spousal maintenance, plus attorney fees. I could not have been happier. My regret was that I did not consult with an attorney before I got myself into the problem, but I was very very happy and satisfied that Mr. St. Louis got the agreement thrown out and a whole new settlement that my ex-husband could not discharge himself out of in bankruptcy. He now has to pay me court ordered spousal maintenance until the total sum of 35K is paid in full. Mr. St. Louis is very good in court and knows how to weave the facts and tell the story of a client's case into the process of the law to the court and best represent the client very well in court. I now receive monthly installment of spousal maintenance I never would have received without Mr. St Louis help. I got the additional small bonus justice was done and my ex-husband is very angry with what Mr. St. Louis accomplished for me. I would hire Mr. St. Louis in an instant if I ever needed legal services. I highly recommend his skills and talent to anyone with family law problems.

My divorce in King County Superior Court is finally done and I am thankful to my attorney, Glen St.Louis as he managed to get me a parenting plan that protected my daughter and got me a lot more in property settlement proceeds than I ever could have imagined. Mr. St.Louis is a very cerebral long term planner, yet he was very tenacious when he had to be, and knows how to think outside of the box. I’m a mom with a daughter that is nearly a teen-ager and had no experience with the family law courts or the way the system works. Mr. St.Louis explained it every step of the way. I had all sorts of nasty and false accusations toward me, and Mr. St.Louis knew how to disarm the untruths and lies. He was very thorough and thoughtful and knows how to deal with challenges. He understands human behavior which is a big plus in dealing with family law issues. He could almost predict every one of my husbands or his lawyer’s dirty tricks and was always prepared for them. My former husband was a pain in the caboose nearly the entire case and threw three different attorneys at me, and each time they threw a curve ball at Mr. St.Louis he treated it as a form of exercise and never got thrown off his game. It didn’t matter what pitch they threw, he knew how to hit it right back at them with more zing and spin. Mr. St.Louis ”responds” rather than “reacts” to things and does not let his buttons get pushed. He’s calm and has a sense of humor which helps. It was apparent at each step in my case (including at hearings and mediation) that he was at least two steps ahead of my husband’s attorneys in knowing what had to be done to place the advantages in my favor. He did not charge me for every meeting and phone call like other attorneys do and for that I am thankful. Mr. St.Louis is talented and disciplined lawyer. If I needed an attorney ever again, he will be the one I want on my team. I enthusiastically recommend him. You will be served well. One Happy Mother

I make this well earned referral for my former attorney, Glen St.Louis and his law firm in my divorce. They obtained for me 50% time with my son and daughter. The fact that I do not have to pay child support is also a plus because I do financially provide for my kids, but the BIG thing for me is that I get to be a highly involved father with my children; something I was unsure of two years ago. Glen worked very hard, tirelessly and intelligently in representing me and turning around a situation for me. He gave me great advice and was always probing to come up with the best result he could get for me. He charged a reasonable rate and worked with me to be sure I’d weather the litigation storm. He knoew how to lean into the negative things and turn them positive. Glen is a planner and he and his staff were very helpful in guiding me with tips on how not to shoot myself in the foot which is easy to do in emotional situation like family law. He gave me tips on how to get along with my estranged spouse and to try to turn things positive in raising our children together. He’d politely challenge me on my thinking, and I learned a lot about myself in how I dealt with things. When I adjusted my attitude, my spouse seemed to notice and her attitude toward everything changed and it helped big time in getting a great parenting plan for our kids. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of understanding the human behavior aspect of divorce and feeling like you are losing your family, and all the fear it causes. Glen did much to give me a different perspective, and yet still stood up for me against my ex wife and her law firm with politeness, professionalism and determination. His law firm is interested in what is best for children and he does not play bulls*hit in that regard. He may be a little demanding of his clients, but it is because the law firm actually cares about children and doing the right thing to be sure that the client turns out to be the best parent they can be. I’ve never had a law firm before that goes the extra lengths. I could not be any more happy than I am right now to be a big part of my children’s lives. I highly recommend the services of attorney Glen St.Louis, and his law firm for any family law related legal matters a person may be experiencing. Before I've even started to type this, I have tears of thanks running down my face.
From our very first conversation, Kristen assured me and reassured me over and over again that we would get through this nightmare together and that my daughter and I would be happy and safe. Despite my extreme anxiety and stressful breakdowns through the 2+ year case, she was patient, understanding and supportive.
Being in a marriage where I was degraded and abused for years, left me with zero self esteem and no conidence at all. I believed every awful thing the ex told me...( he'd get full custody, I'd never see my daughter again, he'd put me in jail for kidnapping etc..)
I can't even tell you how many terrified tears I cried in the beginning. Step by step, with Kristen in my corner, I started to feel more secure and confident that I had finally made the right choice by leaving.
While my ex made this a LONG drawn out process, Kristen kept me in the loop and as calm as possible.
Two years later, I'm back to the strong, confident, independent woman I was before my miserable marriage. I know that I am a great mom and I've made the best choices for my daughter and I.
I went from daily anxiety/panic attacks in fear of losing my baby girl, to laughing at the absolute ridiculous nonsense that my ex used to terrify me with. The first great choice I'd made in years was hiring Kristen.

I was here reviewing my current lawyer, and thought “why not leave my first lawyer a review”?
Nick got me everything I needed in my initial divorce petition and temporary orders. Even majority custody of my children due to DV which was amazing.
His downfall - Not wanting/ability to withstand a long holding case. *Important for people in my DV similar circumstance*
Once my temporary divorce orders passed, he did not want to continue the case because in his words allegedly over a phone call “If your ex is the abuser you claim him to be and his family has money, I’d feel guilty taking any more money from you because your ex will not relent”. - which is valid, but not comital.
Detrimental to anyone experiencing relentless Domestic Violence.
Note: He DID cover a extra hearing he wasn’t required to under our contract. - This leaves me believing there was a miscommunication between expertise and compensation. I didn't understand that at the time. I wish he was more transparent. He could’ve billed me and I’d have paid him.
Then over a phone call told me it’d cost be $15,000.00 upfront to deal with someone like my ex husband. That was saddening.
Where did that leave me? Having to find another attorney to learn my details. Finding another attorney who understood that amount was unrealistic (for myself) upfront.
He was also hesitant in believing my domestic violence claims. Which is already hard as a survivor and not something you need extra from your lawyer.
Nick did get confused on travel dates I had (I mentioned to him at least 3 times) which caused me to have to purchase extra tickets to return for a child exchange. He blamed me for not reminding him prior to the hearing - but he knew I had mentioned it in general. He generously offered to pay for return tickets acknowledging it was his mistake. This was extra gracious of him.
But if you’re needing a long-standing attorney - who isn’t just in it for the wam and bam, this might make practice questionable. Only leaving my open opinion here for those in a situation similar to mine and looking for long-standing representation.
He did amazing law wise is good hearted. But maybe not so much for my extensive needs and being transparent. Which is critical in a relentless DV case like mine. Now I’m happily continuously paying a different attorney. No billing confusion and they’ve learned my details since the beginning of my case. Like everything in life trial and error - not all (people) attorneys are for everyone and that’s totally okay. Nick was great but it didn’t match

Molly represented me in a relocation case about 8 years ago. It is not easy to win a relocation case as the non-custodial parent, but thanks to Molly's incredible talent and skill, she won my case and my son and I get to continue to spend meaningful amounts of time together on a regular basis. As she built my case leading up to trial, Molly would identify issues that had real bearing on the best interests of my son and would then build a case by coaching me through the process of developing the facts related to these issues. I use the term "coaching" very intentionally, as Molly really helped to ground me on what were reasonable requests and expectations as a co-parent with my son and encouraged me to engage with my son's mother on the relevant issues despite the inevitable conflict that would ensue. Then, when the trial started, Molly's experience as a litigation attorney on complex corporate cases really showed through. Molly was absolutely brilliant as she clearly articulated our case on each relevant issue. If you are dealing with a fairly straightforward family law issue, you would benefit from working with Molly. If you are dealing with a difficult or complex family law issue (e.g. high conflict co-parent or an issue that could go to trial), it is hard for me to imagine that you could find better representation than Molly.

I do not even know where to start on how fortunate I was to have Ed and Spencer on my side for a brutal divorce proceeding. I will summarize how awesome Ed and his team were, but I really want to highlight his ability to be caring and to listen throughout the two year battle. Heather is an amazing attorney. I'm military and my daughters mother is also which increases the difficulty of the case in my opinion. I was trying to keep my daughter in Washington where she attends school while my ex-wife was set on returning from overseas and moving out of state with her. I worked with Terry during a seemingly impossible divorce and custody case. A family friend called me distraught several months ago. Their son - young, well behaved, never before in trouble with the law - had been accused of a serious offense. The police were investigating. The family did not speak English and needed help finding a lawyer and interpreting.
