After contacting many different attorneys regarding a family law case, all the other law firms requested heavy fees up front without offering any solutions regardless of them providing free consultations.
Despite her law firm being quite busy at the time, Mackenzie Bretz received a brief description of my case from their staff and was the only person I encountered knowledgeable in the field to present the best options moving forward despite them being the least profitable for her.
Other attorneys that specialized in family law specifically for men asked the highest rates of all before providing any form of advice.
Before Mackenzie was hired on for my case, she provided realistic solutions and outcomes along with reasonable pricing by comparison.
Mackenzie did not drag out communications to maximize profit, everything was succinct and to the point.
Despite her advice being accurate she was flexible and open to other points of view with regard as to how to proceed.
Mackenzie and her assistants would take additional time beyond their hours to help with legal matters despite already providing a timeframe and quality solutions.
When representing my case, she was committed to presenting evidence fairly even if it was outside of her initial advice.
I am infinitely grateful for the legal help provided by Mackenzie and the Beresford staff during a time of need.

Unfortunately, I've had to use Renee Lee far too many times. First, for my divorce from 2012-2014 and many instances since. She is reliable, determined, and committed. She has done a fabulous job every time that I've had to use her. She almost got me 50/50 custody of my son. I have him 12 days out of 30, and all holidays and school breaks are 50/50. I highly recommend her.

I received a ticket in Grant County and it was a challenge to locate a firm that would go there.
After reaching out to NW Liberty and speaking with Jorge late in the day on a Friday. I didn’t have to do anything, except provide him the necessary documentation. Throughout the process Christopher kept me updated and explained the process. Both Jorge and Christopher provided excellent service and were very responsive. Today, I received great news that my ticket was dismissed.

Mr. Malcolm just had to deal with a case of mine for over 5 years, where most attorneys would have just caved and would have settled for 10% of what I received. My other attorneys just floated my case to him, thinking it wasn't worth their time. Mr. Malcolm had patience and knew that I had been wronged, he fought for my case and eventually got me even more than I had ever expected. I would still trade what I had received to go back in time and delete that day, undo what happened. My experience with Sean and Russ was excellent! I originally hired another firm that I found through a google search that was absolutely terrible! I reached out to Malcom Law Firm to see if they had any advice or if this was a normal turn around for the kind of case I had and Sean spoke to me about my case for at least 30 minutes right away!
I felt heard and validated throughout the entire process and received regular check-ins from Russ and Sean both giving me updates on my case. Hugh McGavick was exactly who I needed for my case. I had an employment related legal situation, where my employer changed what we had originally agreed to for my retention. Originally, a bonus for my retention through a specific date was agreed to. Upon my last day, they sent a separation agreement that did not include this bonus, and even included wording that if I sign the separation agreement, I would be waiving all claims, obligations, etc. with the company, and it even specifically included bonuses. I obviously was concerned about this, but the company refused to amend the agreement to include the bonus they had already agreed to, and told me they would pay it out after I signed the agreement... an agreement that made them not legally liable to do so. I've never needed legal aid before, so I had no idea where to start, but I was able to find Avvo, which led me to Hugh. Hugh wasted no time and after I contacted him, explained the situation, and paid for his services, he went after the company quickly. He made sure to gather from me all the information he needed, and presented the facts to the company in an organized and clear way, while also citing the laws and governing bodies for Washington they were potentially violating. As someone who knows nothing about this sort of thing, it really was helpful to know how employment and wage laws in Washington applied to me and my case. The company sent the bonus after Hugh's involvement, and Hugh is honest with billable hours as well. He sent me an itemized invoice after our business was concluded, that showed how he spent every moment on our case, and even refunded me part of the balance as I had paid for more time than was needed. I couldn't be happier with the help I received from Hugh!

I hired David Braswell as my attorney while going through my separation, which turned into a divorce, and needed a parenting plan, child support, etc. He took the time to respond to any questions I had or expressed concerns about and help me understand the legal process. It’s difficult to fully express my gratitude for Mindy and words could never encompass this achievement. My motion was exceptionally challenging—a monumental undertaking with the odds heavily stacked against me. It was highly unlikely that the court would grant my motion, as it’s rare for a final order to be overturned. I had spent months consulting with numerous law firms, but no one was willing to take me on as a client. Despite knowing I had a strong argument with facts to back it up, I struggled to find help.
From the moment I had my first consultation with Mindy, I knew she was the one who could help me. Mindy is incredible. I'm writing this with my healthy baby sleeping peacefully beside me--an outcome I didn't think possible for much of the past year.
I initially hired Mindy Carr to help write a co-parenting plan. I knew my former partner could be difficult to work with, but I had no idea what was in store. Mindy noticed red flags in my co-parent's behavior from the start and helped me prepare for the high-conflict separation that was coming. She predicted how the process would likely unfold given her prior experience, and she was spot on. It wasn't how I hoped things would go, but I was incredibly grateful to be working with an attorney who had seen similar behavior before and knew how to constructively handle it. So, when my co-parent suddenly changed lawyers and filed a surprise motion for near-exclusive custody of our baby, Mindy was able to quickly assemble an effective response. Her arguments at the hearing convinced the commissioner to adopt a balanced temporary parenting plan instead, and gave me and my co-parent more time to continue discussing a parenting plan via counseling.
It took almost a year before our parenting plan was finalized in arbitration. Mindy let me know what was going on and what to expect the entire time--her transparency really helped reduce my anxiety during such an uncertain period. I was particularly impressed with her knowledge of the family court system and the people in it; she clearly has lots of first-hand experience here and it showed in her approach. She was a tireless and trustworthy advocate who kept my child's interests at heart.
I believe we ended up with a fair parenting plan that puts our child first and provides time and space for each co-parent to build a healthy relationship with them. It's exactly the outcome I'd hoped we could reach collaboratively when I first hired Mindy; the fact that she was able to make this happen despite the machinations of a very high-conflict co-parent speaks to Mindy's resourcefulness, intelligence, and tenacity.

Early in the process of getting divorced, I tried to represent myself, and I ultimately turned to Mindy via a friend's recommendation. Just from a purely financial standpoint, hiring Mindy was among the best decisions I've ever made. The agreement I negotiated for myself was approximately 7x Mindy's total fees less than what I ultimately signed with her help.
Beyond that, though, I've gotten the sense throughout the process that Mindy really and truly wants to help. I felt supported and seen; I know this sounds corny, but it's true.
Mindy's experience and attention to detail helped me avoid a bunch of potentially problematic language in the parenting agreement we ultimately signed, and her advice on strategy and tactics was always well reasoned. She could also consistently explain why she wanted certain provisions added or removed in plain English, translating the legal rule into the likely real world ramifications for me.
Family law being as sensitive as it is, I dearly hope that I never get to work with Mindy again. But if I ever do wind up needing another family lawyer, Mindy will be my first call, and I'll be deeply disappointed if she does not answer.
