As a classical concert pianist, I was so fortunate to have Jane as my attorney to get my O1 b visa. In the last years the bar for this visa has raised a lot, Jane warned me about it in the beginning before starting the process. We started the process in July and the case was filed in the first part of September. I got the approval in November without any request for evidence or any other problem. During the application process, she guided me to get all the documents that I needed, giving me very clear instructions about details that I could not even imagine. She was so meticulous that she didn't file until the documents were prepared in the way that she wanted.
The communication was excellent. During the application process I asked her a lot of questions and she always answered me very quickly.
She let me know all the fees at the beginning and there was no surprise. Her fee is more than fair compared to her service. It was very evident all the work that she put for the case. Jane helped me secure my O1 visa in the business category. I was introduced to her through my company who assured me that she was the best O1 lawyer in the country. Over the period of 6 months, she helped me navigate through every step of the complex process.
She was extremely thorough and details oriented. She would review each of my testimonial letters in great detail and directly work with me/my recommenders to iterate them to make sure that I was getting the best recommendations. When I got an RFE (thanks to the recent administration), she worked hard to respond to each and every of the issues raised by the USCIS.
As an applicant, you might think that you are doing most of the heavy lifting by securing all the letters and documents, but you would be surprised at how much extra work she puts behind the scenes into every application. In my case, she was even able to secure an industry expert and have her review my case to further improve my application! I got married in July 2013. Soon after, my husband and I we were looking for a good lawyer to represent us for our immigration case since I came to this country with a C1 visa many years ago and I overstayed. Many years had to past for me to finally start fixing my immigration status: marriage equality was finally legal across the United States and the Obama administration installed a mandate to pardon immigrants in the U.S territory instead of going back to their countries to wait for a pardon.
I remember very clearly our first appointment with Ms. Cano, and I remember mostly because she was very friendly, the staff was very friendly, and she exposed to me what steps I must follow to get my papers in order, and get my resident card. She was very clear, very organized, and she speaks fluent Spanish and English.
First, we started the family petition. Once that was confirmed, we follow with the “extreme hardship” waiver, and finally with the interview that was going to be made in my country. After long months of hard work from both parties, we got the waiver approved and soon after we had the date for the interview. Now looking back it seems very simple, and it kind of is because the professionalism of Ms. Cano’s office made everything run very smoothly. They would call me every time I needed to bring something to the office or if they send me some documents to my residence. They would email me or be in contact all the time through the entire case. They would also give me copies of all documentation; hard copy, electronic copies, etc. In short, they were on top of my case throughout my immigration case.
When I finally got my residence, we convened again 2 years after that to start the process for my permanent resident. Thanks to the amount of evidence Ms. Cano ask me for and the efficiency of her office, I can finally say I am a permanent resident of the United States. I can say, very confidently, that I recommend 100% Ms. Cano’s services for any immigration issues you may have. Every case is different and for some is long and tedious, but you can have the certainty that they are working for you in a professional manner.

Ms. Cano was very thorough in absolutely every aspect of the case. She made me and my family extremely comfortable throughout the entire process. Our process took about 3 years but there was always contact and updates. We were never left in the dark and all options, whether good or bad, were explained so that there were no surprises. I was terminated by my employer and I thought I had a case. I was either ignored or turned away because of "conflicts of interest." For years, I was working in an abusive and discriminatory environment. I was expected to perform the same duties as my colleagues at a lower salary and rank. Ms Aboushi was amazing! She worked hard for about 6 years on my son's case! Whatever she needed, I got and she would go straight to work. Even after the case was handled, she still gives advice when we need it and my kid is always on her mind!
